၁ ဓမ္မရာဇဝင် 20
1 ၁ ထိုနောက်ဒါဝိဒ်သည်ရာမမြို့အပိုင်နာယုတ် ရွာမှထွက်ပြေးပြီးလျှင် ယောနသန်ထံသို့ သွား၍``အကျွန်ုပ်သည်အဘယ်အမှုကိုပြု မိပါသနည်း။ အဘယ်ရာဇဝတ်မှုကူးလွန် မိပါသနည်း။ အကျွန်ုပ်ကိုသတ်ချင်ရအောင် သင့်ခမည်းတော်အားကျွန်ုပ်သည်အဘယ် သို့ပြစ်မှားမိပါသနည်း'' ဟုမေး၏။
And David fled from Naioth, in Ramah, —and came in, and said before Jonathan—What have I done? What is my transgression, and what my sin, before thy father, that he seeketh my life?
2 ၂ ယောနသန်က``ထိုသို့မဖြစ်ပါစေနှင့်။ သင် သည်မသေရပါ။ ကျွန်ုပ်၏ခမည်းတော်သည် အမှုကြီးငယ်မှန်သမျှကိုမပြုမီကျွန်ုပ် အားပြောပြတတ်ပါ၏။ ကျွန်ုပ်ထံမှအဘယ် အရာကိုမျှဖုံးကွယ်ထားလေ့မရှိပါ။ သင့် ကိုသတ်မည်ဆိုသည်မှာမဖြစ်နိုင်ပါ'' ဟု ဆို၏။
And he said unto him—Far be it! thou shalt not die. Lo! my father doeth nothing, great or small, without unveiling mine ear, —wherefore, then, should my father hide from me, this thing? There is, nothing, in this.
3 ၃ သို့ရာတွင်ဒါဝိဒ်က``သင်ကျွန်ုပ်အားအဘယ် မျှခင်မင်သည်ကို သင်၏ခမည်းတော်ကောင်း စွာသိပါ၏။ သင်သည်စိတ်မချမ်းမသာ ဖြစ်မည်စိုးသဖြင့် သူသည်မိမိ၏အကြံ အစည်ကိုသင့်အားမပြောကြားဘဲနေ လေပြီ။ ကျွန်ုပ်သည်သေဘေးနှင့်ခြေတစ် လှမ်းမျှသာကွာတော့ကြောင်း အသက်ရှင် တော်မူသောထာဝရဘုရားကိုတိုင် တည်၍သင့်အားကျိန်ဆိုဖော်ပြပါ၏'' ဟုပြန်ပြော၏။
But David sware yet further, and said—Thy father, doth know, that I have found favour in thine eyes, therefore saith he, —Do not let Jonathan know this, lest he grieve; but, indeed, by the life of Yahweh, and by the life of thine own soul, surely there is but as it were a step betwixt me and death!
And Jonathan said unto David, —Whatsoever thy soul shall desire, I will do for thee.
5 ၅ ဒါဝိဒ်က``နက်ဖြန်နေ့သည်လဆန်းနေ့ပွဲ တော်ဖြစ်၍ကျွန်ုပ်သည်မင်းကြီးနှင့်အတူ စားသောက်သင့်သည့်အချိန်ဖြစ်ပါ၏။ သို့ ရာတွင်သင်ကန့်ကွက်ရန်မရှိပါလျှင် ကျွန်ုပ် သည်ကွင်းထဲသို့သွား၍သန်ဘက်ခါ ညနေအထိပုန်းအောင်းနေပါမည်။-
And David said unto Jonathan—Lo! the new moon, is to-morrow, and, I, must not sit with the king, to eat, —let me go then, and hide myself in the field, until the evening.
6 ၆ အကယ်၍စားပွဲတွင်ကျွန်ုပ်မရှိကြောင်း သင့်ခမည်းတော်မြင်သွားခဲ့သော် ယခု အချိန်သည်ကျွန်ုပ်၏အိမ်ထောင်စုသားတို့ နှစ်ပတ်လည်ယဇ်ပူဇော်ရာကာလဖြစ် သဖြင့် သင့်ထံတွင်ကျွန်ုပ်အခွင့်ပန်သွား ကြောင်းလျှောက်ထားပေးပါ။-
If thy father, enquire, for me, then shalt thou say—David, did ask leave, of me, to run to Bethlehem, his own city, for, a yearly sacrifice, [is to be held] there for all the family.
7 ၇ အကယ်၍မင်းကြီးက`ကောင်းပြီ' ဟုဆိုပါ ကကျွန်ုပ်အသက်ချမ်းသာခွင့်ရပါလိမ့်မည်။ သို့ရာတွင်အကယ်၍အမျက်တော်ထွက်လျှင် မူကားမင်းကြီးသည် ကျွန်ုပ်အားဘေးအန္တရာယ် ပြုရန်အကြံရှိကြောင်းသင်သိရှိနိုင်ပါ လိမ့်မည်။-
If, thus, he say—It is well, —thy servant shall have, peace, —but, if it, anger, him, know that harm hath been determined by him.
8 ၈ ကျွန်ုပ်အားကျေးဇူးပြုပါ။ သင်နှင့်ကျွန်ုပ်ပြု ထားကြသည့်သစ္စာကတိကိုလည်းတည်မြဲ စေပါ။ သို့ရာတွင်အကယ်၍ကျွန်ုပ်မှာအပြစ် ရှိခဲ့သော် သင်ကိုယ်တိုင်ပင်ကျွန်ုပ်အားသတ် ပါလော့။ အဘယ်ကြောင့်သင့်ခမည်းတော် လက်သို့အပ်ပါတော့မည်နည်း'' ဟုဆို၏။
Thus shalt thou do a lovingkindness for thy servant, for, into a covenant of Yahweh, hast thou brought thy servant, with thee, —But, if there is in me transgression, put me to death, thyself, for, unto thy father, wherefore shouldst thou bring me in?
9 ၉ ယောနသန်က``ထိုသို့မစဉ်းစားပါနှင့်။ အကယ်၍ကျွန်ုပ်၏ခမည်းတော်သည်သင့် အားဘေးအန္တရာယ်ပြုရန် စိတ်ပိုင်းဖြတ် ထားသည်ကိုကျွန်ုပ်သိပါမူသင့်ကို မပြောဘဲနေမည်လော'' ဟုဆို၏။
And Jonathan said—Far be it from thee! but, if I, get to know, that harm is determined by my father, to bring it upon thee, is not, that, the thing that I will tell thee?
10 ၁၀ ထိုအခါဒါဝိဒ်က``အကယ်၍သင်၏ ခမည်းတော်သည်သင့်အားအမျက်ထွက်၍ ပြန်လည်ဖြေကြားပါက ကျွန်ုပ်အားအဘယ် သူလာ၍အသိပေးပါမည်နည်း'' ဟုမေး ၏။
Then said David unto Jonathan, Who shall tell me, —if thy father answer thee aught that is, harsh?
11 ၁၁ ယောနသန်က``ကွင်းထဲသို့ငါတို့သွားကြ စို့'' ဟုဆိုပြီးလျှင်သူတို့နှစ်ယောက်သွား ကြ၏။-
And Jonathan said unto David, Come! and let us go out into the field. And they two went out into the field.
12 ၁၂ ထိုနောက်ယောနသန်သည်ဒါဝိဒ်အား``ဣသ ရေလအမျိုးသားတို့၏ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရားရှေ့တော်၌ကျွန်ုပ်ကတိပြု ပါ၏။ ကျွန်ုပ်သည်နက်ဖြန်ခါနှင့်သန်ဘက်ခါ ဤအချိန်တွင်ခမည်းတော်အားစုံစမ်းမေး မြန်းပါမည်။ သင့်အပေါ်တွင်သူ၏စိတ်နေ စိတ်ထားကောင်းမွန်ပါက သင့်ထံသို့ အကြောင်းကြားပါမည်။-
Then said Jonathan unto David—Witness [be] Yahweh God of Israel, that I will sound my father about this time to-morrow or the third day, and lo! if there he good towards David, will I not, then, send unto thee, and unveil thine ear?
13 ၁၃ သူသည်သင့်ကိုဘေးအန္တရာယ်ပြုရန်ကြံစည် ပါမူ ကျွန်ုပ်သည်သင့်အားဘေးလွတ်လုံခြုံရာ သို့ထွက်ခွာသွားနိုင်ရန်အကြောင်းမကြားဘဲ နေခဲ့သော် ထာဝရဘုရားသည်ကျွန်ုပ်အား အဆုံးစီရင်တော်မူပါစေသော။ ထာဝရ ဘုရားသည်ကျွန်ုပ်၏ခမည်းတော်နှင့်အတူ ရှိတော်မူခဲ့သည်နည်းတူ သင်နှင့်အတူ ရှိတော်မူပါစေသော။-
So, let Yahweh do unto Jonathan, and, so, let him add—when harm against thee seemeth good unto my father, then will I unveil thine ear, and let thee go, and thou shall depart in peace, —then Yahweh be with thee, as he hath been with my father.
14 ၁၄ သင်သည်ကျွန်ုပ်အသက်ရှင်စဉ်အခါ၌မိမိ ကျိန်ဆိုကတိပြုခဲ့သည်အတိုင်း ကျွန်ုပ်အား သစ္စာစောင့်ရမည်သာမက၊ ကျွန်ုပ်သေဆုံးပြီး နောက်၊-
And, not only while I yet live, shalt thou deal with me in the lovingkindness of Yahweh, that I die not:
15 ၁၅ သင်၏ရန်သူအပေါင်းကိုထာဝရဘုရား သုတ်သင်ပယ်ရှင်းတော်မူသောအခါ၌ လည်း ကျွန်ုပ်၏အိမ်ထောင်စုသားတို့အပေါ် တွင်အစဉ်အမြဲသစ္စာစောင့်ပါလော့။-
but thou shalt not cut off thy lovingkindness from my house, unto times age-abiding, —no! not when Yahweh hath cut off the enemies of David, every one from off the face of the ground.
16 ၁၆ ကျွန်ုပ်တို့နှစ်ဦးထားရှိကြသည့်ကတိ သစ္စာမပျက်မပြယ်တည်မြဲပါစေသတည်း။ အကယ်၍ထိုကတိသစ္စာကိုဖျက်ခဲ့သော် ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သင့်အားအပြစ်ဒဏ် စီရင်တော်မူပါစေသော''ဟုဆို၏။
Thus Jonathan solemnised a covenant with the house of David [saying], —So let Yahweh require it, at the hand of the enemies of David.
17 ၁၇ ယောနသန်သည်ဒါဝိဒ်အားကိုယ်နှင့်အမျှ ချစ်သဖြင့် မိမိကိုလည်းချစ်ရန်ကတိပြု စေ၏။-
And again Jonathan sware unto David, by his love to him, —for, as he loved his own soul, so loved he him.
18 ၁၈ ထိုနောက်ယောနသန်က``နက်ဖြန်နေ့သည် လဆန်းပွဲတော်အခါဖြစ်သဖြင့် ပွဲတော် သို့သင်မတက်ရောက်ပါမူ သင်၏နေရာ လစ်လပ်လျက်နေသည်ကိုတွေ့ရှိကြလိမ့် မည်။-
Then said Jonathan unto him—To-morrow, is the new moon, and thou wilt be missed, for thy seat will be empty;
19 ၁၉ သန်ဘက်ခါ၌လည်းယင်းသို့ပင်သင်မရှိ ကြောင်းတွေ့ရှိကြလိမ့်မည်။ သို့ဖြစ်၍ယခင်က သင်ပုန်းအောင်းနေခဲ့ဖူးသည့်အရပ်သို့သွား ၍ကျောက်ပုံ နောက်တွင်ပုန်းကွယ်လျက်နေလော့။-
and, when thou hast tarried three days, thou shalt come down quickly and enter the place, where thou didst hide thyself on the day of the deed, and shall remain by the side of this mound.
20 ၂၀ ထိုအခါကျွန်ုပ်၏သည်ကျောက်ပုံကိုပစ် မှတ်သဖွယ်ပြု၍ မြားသုံးစင်းပစ်လွှတ် လိုက်မည်။-
And, as for me—three arrows to the side, will I shoot, —as though I shot at a mark.
21 ၂၁ ထိုနောက်ကျွန်ုပ်၏အစေခံအားမြားတို့ ကိုသွား၍ရှာစေမည်။ ကျွန်ုပ်သည်သူ့အား`မြား တို့သည်ဤဘက်မှာရှိသည်၊ သွား၍ယူချေ' ဟု ဆိုလျှင်သင့်မှာဘေးအန္တရာယ်မရှိတော့သဖြင့် ထွက်၍လာနိုင်ပြီဟုဆိုလိုကြောင်းသိမှတ် ပါလော့။-
And lo! I will send the boy [saying], Go, find the arrow! If I, say, to the boy—Lo! the arrows, are on this side of thee—take them, then come, for there is peace for thee, and no cause [for fear], by the life of Yahweh.
22 ၂၂ အကယ်၍ကျွန်ုပ်က`မြားတို့သည်ဟိုဘက်မှာ တွင်ရှိသည်၊ သွား၍ယူချေ' ဟုဆိုလျှင်မူကား ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သင့်အားထွက်ခွာသွား စေတော်မူပြီဖြစ်၍သင်သည်ထွက်ခွာသွား ပါလော့။-
But, if, thus, I say to the youth, Lo! the arrows are beyond thee, depart, for Yahweh hath sent thee away.
23 ၂၃ ကျွန်ုပ်တို့နှစ်ဦးအချင်းချင်းပြုခဲ့ကြသည့် ကတိသစ္စာကို ထာဝစဉ်မပျက်မကွက်စောင့် ထိန်းနိုင်ကြစေရန်ထာဝရဘုရားသည် စီမံတော်မူပါလိမ့်မည်'' ဟုဆို၏။
But, as touching the matter whereof we spake—I and thou, lo! Yahweh, be betwixt me and thee, unto times age-abiding.
24 ၂၄ ထို့ကြောင့်ဒါဝိဒ်သည်ကွင်းထဲတွင်ပုန်းအောင်း လျက်နေ၏။ လဆန်းပွဲတော်နေ့၌ရှောလု မင်းသည်စားတော်ခေါ်ရန်ကြွလာတော် မူ၍၊-
So David hid himself in the field—and, when the new moon had come, the king sat down to eat, food,
25 ၂၅ နံရံအနီးမိမိထိုင်နေကျနေရာတွင်ထိုင် တော်မူ၏။ အာဗနာသည်မင်းကြီး၏နံဘေး တွင်လည်းကောင်း၊ ယောနသန်သည်မင်းကြီး ၏ရှေ့တွင်လည်းကောင်းထိုင်၏။ ဒါဝိဒ်၏ နေရာမူကားလပ်၍နေ၏။-
yea the king sat down on his seat, as at other times, by the seat against the wall, and, when Jonathan arose, Abner seated himself by the side of Saul, —but David’s place was empty.
26 ၂၆ သို့သော်ထိုနေ့၌မင်းကြီးသည်အဘယ်သို့ မျှမိန့်မြွက်တော်မမူ။ အကြောင်းတစ်ခုခု ကြောင့်ဒါဝိဒ်သည်ဘာသာရေးကျင့်ဝတ်အရ သန့်စင်မှုမရှိသဖြင့် မလာမရောက်ခြင်း သာဖြစ်မည်ဟုမှတ်ယူတော်မူ၏။-
Saul, however, spake nothing that day, —for he said to himself—It is, an accident, he is, not clean, because he hath not been cleansed.
27 ၂၇ လဆန်းပွဲတော်နေ့အလွန်နောက်တစ်နေ့၌ လည်းဒါဝိဒ်၏နေရာသည်လပ်လျက်ပင်ရှိ သောကြောင့် ရှောလုကယောနသန်အား``အဘယ် ကြောင့်ဒါဝိဒ်သည်ဤစားပွဲတော်သို့ယမန် နေ့ကမလာ၊ ယနေ့လည်းမလာသနည်း'' ဟုမေးတော်မူ၏။
And it came to pass, on the morrow, the second of the month, that David’s place was empty, —and Saul said unto Jonathan his son, Wherefore hath not the son of Jesse come in, either yesterday or to-day, to meat?
28 ၂၈ ယောနသန်က``ဒါဝိဒ်သည်ကျွန်ုပ်ထံတွင် ခွင့်ပန်၍ ဗက်လင်မြို့သို့သွားပါသည်။ သူ က`အကျွန်ုပ်တို့အားကျေးဇူးပြု၍သွား ခွင့်ပြုပါ။-
And Jonathan answered Saul, —David, asked leave, of me, [to go] as far as Bethlehem;
29 ၂၉ ထိုမြို့တွင်အကျွန်ုပ်၏ဆွေမျိုးသားချင်း တို့သည်ယဇ်ပူဇော်ပွဲကျင်းပလျက်နေကြ သဖြင့် အစ်ကိုကလည်းအကျွန်ုပ်အားလာ ရမည်ဟုဆိုပါသည်။ သင်သည်အကျွန်ုပ်ကို ခင်မင်ပါကအကျွန်ုပ်အားညီအစ်ကိုတို့ ကိုတွေ့ရန်သွားခွင့်ပြုပါဟုပန်ကြားပါ၏။ ထို့ကြောင့်သူသည်အရှင်၏စားပွဲတော် တွင်မရှိခြင်းဖြစ်ပါသည်'' ဟုပြန်ကြား လျှောက်ထား၏။
and said—Let me go, I pray thee, for, a family sacrifice, have we in the city, and my brethren have commanded me, now, therefore, if I have found favour in thine eyes, let me slip away, I pray thee, that I may see my brethren. For this cause, hath he not come in unto the table of the king.
30 ၃၀ ရှောလုသည်ယောနသန်အားပြင်းစွာအမျက် ထွက်သဖြင့်``တရားမဝင်သောသား၊ သင်သည် ဒါဝိဒ်ဘက်သားဖြစ်ကြောင်းယခုငါသိပြီ။ သင်သည်ကိုယ့်ကိုယ်ကိုလည်းကောင်း၊ ကိုယ့် မိခင်ကိုလည်းကောင်းအသရေယုတ်စေ လေပြီတကား။-
Then was Saul’s anger kindled against Jonathan, and he said unto him, Thou son of rebellious perversity! do I not know that thou art, confederate, with the son of Jesse to thine own confusion, and to the confusion of the shame of thy mother?
31 ၃၁ ဒါဝိဒ်အသက်ရှင်နေသမျှကာလပတ်လုံး သင်သည်ဤတိုင်းပြည်တွင်အဘယ်အခါ၌ မျှဘုရင်မဖြစ်နိုင်သည်ကိုမသိပါသလော။ ယခုပင်သွား၍သူ့ကိုခေါ်ခဲ့လော့။ သူသည် မုချသေဒဏ်ခံရမည်'' ဟုမိန့်တော်မူ၏။
For, as long as, the son of Jesse, liveth on the ground, thou wilt not be established, thou nor thy kingdom, Now, therefore, send and fetch him unto me, for, doomed to death, is he!
32 ၃၂ ယောနသန်က``အဘယ်ကြောင့်သေဒဏ်ခံ ရပါမည်နည်း။ သူသည်အဘယ်အမှုကို ပြုမိပါသနည်း'' ဟုလျှောက်လျှင်၊
And Jonathan responded to Saul his father, —and said unto him—Wherefore must he be put to death, What hath he done?
33 ၃၃ ရှောလုသည်ယောနသန်အားထိမှန်စေရန် လှံတံတော်နှင့်ပစ်လိုက်လေသည်။ ထိုအခါ ယောနသန်သည် မင်းကြီးအကယ်ပင်ဒါဝိဒ် အားသတ်ရန်စိတ်ပိုင်းဖြတ်ထားတော်မူ ကြောင်းကိုသိလေ၏။-
And Saul hurled his spear at him, to smite him. So Jonathan knew that it was, determined, of his father, to put David to death.
34 ၃၄ သူသည်ဒေါသဖြစ်လျက်စားပွဲမှထသွား ပြီးလျှင် လဆန်းပွဲတော်ဒုတိယနေ့တစ်နေ့ လုံးမည်သည့်အစားအစာကိုမျှမစားဘဲ နေ၏။ သူသည်ဒါဝိဒ်အားရှောလုအသရေ ဖျက်သည့်အတွက်များစွာစိတ်မချမ်း မသာဖြစ်၏။-
Jonathan therefore rose up from the table, in a glow of anger, —and did eat no food on the second day of the month, for he was grieved for David, because his father had reviled him.
35 ၃၅ နောက်တစ်နေ့နံနက်၌ယောနသန်သည်ယခင် ကချိန်းဆိုထားသည့်အတိုင်း ဒါဝိဒ်နှင့်တွေ့ဆုံ ရန်ကွင်းထဲသို့သွား၏။ မိမိနှင့်အတူသူငယ် တစ်ယောက်ကိုလည်းခေါ်ဆောင်သွားကာ၊-
And it came to pass in the morning, that Jonathan went forth into the field, to the place appointed with David, —a little lad, being with him.
36 ၃၆ ထိုသူငယ်အား``ယခုပင်ငါပစ်လွှတ်လိုက်မည့် မြားကိုပြေး၍ရှာလော့'' ဟုဆို၏။ ထိုသူငယ် ပြေးလေလျှင်ယောနသန်သည်သူ့ကိုလွန် အောင်မြားတစ်စင်းကိုပစ်လွှတ်၏။-
And he said to his lad—Run, find, I pray thee, the arrows which I am about to shoot. The boy, ran, but, he, shot the arrow beyond him.
And, when the lad came as far as the place of the arrow which Jonathan had shot, Jonathan cried after the lad, and said, Is not the arrow, beyond, thee?
38 ၃၈ ရပ်၍မနေနှင့်။ မြန်မြန်ပြေး၍ကောက်လော့'' ဟုဟစ်အော်လိုက်၏။ သူငယ်သည်မြားကို ကောက်ပြီးလျှင် မိမိသခင်ရှိရာသို့ပြန် လာလေသည်။-
And Jonathan cried after the lad, Haste thee—be quick, do not stay! so Jonathan’s lad picked up the arrows and brought [them] unto his master.
39 ၃၉ သူသည်ထိုစကား၏အနက်အဋ္ဌိပ္ပါယ်ကို မသိ။ ယောနသန်နှင့်ဒါဝိဒ်တို့သာလျှင် သိကြ၏။-
But, the lad, knew, nothing, only Jonathan and David, knew the matter.
So Jonathan gave his weapons unto his lad, and said to him, Go carry them into the city.
41 ၄၁ သူငယ်ထွက်သွားသောအခါ ဒါဝိဒ်သည် ကျောက်ပုံ နောက်မှထွက်လာပြီးလျှင်ဒူးထောက်၍ ယော နသန်အားသုံးကြိမ်တိုင်တိုင်ပျပ်ဝပ်ဦး ညွှတ်၏။ ထိုနောက်သူတို့သည်အချင်းချင်း ဖက်နမ်းငိုကြွေးကြ၏။ ဒါဝိဒ်၏ကြေကွဲ မှုသည် ယောနသန်၏ကြေကွဲမှုထက်ပင် ပိုမိုပြင်းထန်လေသည်။-
As soon as, the lad, was gone, David, arose from beside the South, and fell on his face to the earth, and bowed himself down three times, —and they kissed each other, and wept over each other, until, David, exceeded.
42 ၄၂ ထိုအခါယောနသန်က``ဘုရားသခင်သည် သင်နှင့်အတူရှိတော်မူပါစေသော။ ငါတို့ နှစ်ယောက်သည်လည်းကောင်း၊ ငါတို့သားမြေး များသည်လည်းကောင်းငါတို့တစ်ယောက်ကို တစ်ယောက်ပြုခဲ့သည့်ကတိသစ္စာကို ထာဝစဉ် မပျက်မကွက်စောင့်ထိန်းနိုင်ကြစေရန် ထာဝရဘုရားမုချကူမတော်မူပါ လိမ့်မည်'' ဟုဆို၏။ ထိုနောက်ဒါဝိဒ်ထွက်ခွာ သွား၏။ ယောနသန်သည်လည်းမြို့ထဲသို့ ပြန်လေ၏။
Then said Jonathan unto David—Go in peace, —[remembering] that, we, have both sworn in the name of Yahweh, saying, Yahweh shall be between me and thee, and between my seed and thy seed, unto times age-abiding. And he arose, and departed, —and, Jonathan, entered the city.
