1 Bhai shikukuu sha Pashaka shikanabhe, a Yeshu bhamumanyi kuti malanga gabho ga jabhula pa shilambolyo kwenda kwa Atati gaishe. Bhashinkwaapinganga bhandu bhabho pa shilambolyo, numbe, bhashikwaapinganga mpaka kumpelo!
Before the Feast of the Passover, Jesus knew that His time had come that He should depart out of this world to the Father. Having sincerely loved His own who were in the world, He sincerely loved them to the end.
2 Lishetani ali abhatajile a Yuda, bhana bhabho a Shimoni Ishikaliote, ntima gwa kwaatendebhuka a Yeshu, gubhatemingenenje nkulalila a Yeshu na bhaajiganywa bhabho.
Supper was finished, and the Devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Jesus.
3 A Yeshu bhali bhamumanyi kuti bhashikamuywa indu yowe na Atati, numbe kubhakoposhele kwa a Nnungu na bhanabhuja kwenda kwa a Nnungu.
Jesus, knowing that the Father had given everything into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God,
4 Bhai gubhashoshile pa shalya, gubhabhishile likoti lyabho panyenje, gubhatolile litaulo, nikwiitabha nshigunu.
got up from supper, laid aside His outer garment, and wrapped a towel around His waist.
5 Kungai gubhatajile mashi nshibhiga, gubhatandwibhe kwaanabhiyanga makongono bhaajiganywa bhabho nikwaungutanga na litaulo libhaitabhile nshigunu lila.
Then He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around Him.
6 Bhai gubhaaishile a Shimoni Petili, bhenebho gubhaalugulile a Yeshu, “Mmakulungwa, mmwe nnaanabhiya mmakongono nne?”
Then He came to Simon Peter, and Peter asked Him, “Lord, are You washing my feet?”
7 A Yeshu gubhajangwile, “Mmwe nnaino nkakushimanya shingutenda ikabheje shinshimanye kungai.”
Jesus answered, “You don’t understand what I am doing now, but you will know after this.”
8 A Petili gubhaabhalanjile, “Mmwe, wala nkanabhiya nne!” A Yeshu gubhaajangwile, “Monaga ngannabhiye, mwangali shilongani na nne.” (aiōn g165)
Peter told Him, “You will never wash my feet!” Jesus answered, “If I don’t wash you, you have no part with me.” (aiōn g165)
9 A Shimoni Petili gubhaajangwile, “Mmakulungwa, nnabhiye nngabha makongonope, ikabhe na makono gangu nneila peila na ntwe gwangu.”
Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, not just my feet, but also my hands and my head!”
10 A Yeshu gubhaabhalanjile, “Ajojile shiilu showe akapinjikwa kujoga kabhili, ikabhe kunabha makongonope, pabha shiilu showe shikonjile. Mmanganyanji nkonjilenje ikabhe nngabha mmowe.”
Jesus said to him, “Someone who has bathed only needs to wash their feet, but is completely clean; and most of you are clean, but not all of you.”
11 A Yeshu bhashinkubheleketa “Nngabha mmowe nkonjilenje.” Pabha bhammanyi gani shabhatendebhushe.
For He knew who would betray Him, therefore He said, “You aren’t all clean.”
12 A Yeshu bhakamaliyeje kwaanabhiyanga makongono, gubhawete likoti lyabho gubhatemi kabhili, nikwaabhuyanga, “Bhuli, nngamanyinji gunintendelenjega?
When He had washed their feet, He put on His outer garment and sat down again. He asked them, “Do you know what I have done to you?
13 Mmanganyanji punkunjemanga Mmaajiganya na Mmakulungwa, nnibheleketanga ukoto, pabha nne puni nneyo.
You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right in saying so, for so I am.
14 Bhai ibhaga nne nili Nankulungwa na Nkujiganya njikunnabhiyanga makongono, nneyo peyo na mmanganyanji nnapinjikwanga kunabhiyana makongono.
If I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
15 Kwa nneyo njikunnanguyanga ipinjikwa, nkupinga ntendelananje nneyo malinga shinintendelenje nne.
I have given you an example, that you should also do as I have done to you.
16 Kweli ngunakummalanjilanga, ntumwa nngabha jwankulungwa kupunda bhakulungwa bhakwe, na wala ntume nngabha nkulungwa kupunda bhantumile.
Most assuredly, I tell you, a servant isn’t greater than his master, nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him.
17 Nngamanyangaga genego, shiibhe shammbone ntendangaga nneyo.
If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them.
18 “Ngaataya ga mmowe mmwe, pabha naamanyinji bhunaagwilenje. Ikabheje nkupinga gatimilile Majandiko gataya. ‘Aalile shalya shangu ashindundumalila.’
I’m not talking about all of you. I know who I have chosen; but this is to fulfill the Scripture, ‘He who eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.’
19 Ngunakummalanjilanga genega gakanabhe koposhela, nkupinga pushigakoposhele nkulupalilanje kuti ‘Nne ni Nne.’
Now I tell you before it happens, that when it does happen, you may believe that I AM.
20 Kweli ngunakummalanjilanga. Akumposhela mundu jojowe junintumile, anaamboshela nne, na amboshela nne, anakwaaposhela bhandumile bhala.”
Most assuredly, I tell you, whoever receives anyone I send receives me; and he who receives me receives Him who sent me.”
21 A Yeshu bhakamaliyeje bheleketa genego, gubhatengwishe muntima kwa kaje, gubhakong'ondele bhalinkuti, “Kweli ngunakummalanjilanga, jumo munkumbi gwenunji apinga ndendebhuka!”
When Jesus had said these things, He was troubled in spirit, and testified and said, “Most assuredly, I tell you, one of you will betray me.”
22 Bhaajiganywa gubhalolenenje akuno bhalinginji na lipamba gani jubhakuntaya.
The disciples began looking at one another, perplexed about which one of them He was talking about.
23 Jumo jwa bhaajiganywa, apingwaga kaje na a Yeshu, ashinkutama tome na a Yeshu.
One of Jesus’ disciples, who Jesus sincerely loved, was leaning against His breast.
24 Bhai, a Shimoni Petili gubhannangwile nkono bhalinkuti, “Mwaabhuye gani jubhakuntaya?”
Simon Peter therefore nodded to him to ask who He spoke about.
25 Bhai jwenejo gwabhatendebhushile a Yeshu nikwaabhuya, “Mmakulungwa, gani?”
Then, leaning back on Jesus’ breast, he asked Him, “Lord, who is it?”
26 A Yeshu gubhajangwile, “Jwene, jushinimpambile ndonji nikumpajo.” Gubhagabhile ndonji, nipamba, gubhaapele a Yuda, bhana bhabho a Shimoni Ishikaliote.
Jesus answered, “It is he who I will give a morsel to when I have dipped it.” Having dipped the morsel, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son.
27 A Yuda bhakaposheleje ndonji jila, Lishetani gwabhajinjile. Bhai a Yeshu gubhaalugulile, “Shintumbilile tendasho, ntende shangu!”
After the morsel, Satan entered into him. Jesus therefore told him, “What you do, do quickly.”
28 Wala jwakwa mundu munkumbi gwa bhatemingenenje pa shalya pala amumanyi kwa nndi bhashikwaabhalanjila nneyo.
None of those reclining at the table knew why He had said this to him.
29 Pabha a Yuda pubhaaliji bhaagoya mpatila gwa mmbiya yabhonji, bhananji gubhaganishiyenje kuti a Yeshu bhashikwabhaalanjila bhakaume ipinjikwa nshikukuu, eu kuti bhashikwaabhalanjila bhaakapanganje bhaalaga indu.
Some were supposing, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus was saying to him, “Buy the things we need for the feast”; or else, that he should give something to the poor.
30 Bhai, a Yuda bhakaposheleje ndonji jila, shangu gubhakopweshe palanga. Na puyaliji shilo.
Having received the morsel, he went out immediately. It was night.
31 A Yuda bhakajabhuleje, a Yeshu gubhashite, “Nnaino akuywe Mwana juka Mundu, numbe a Nnungu bhashikuywa nkati jakwe.
When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him.
32 Na ibhaga a Nnungu bhakushiywe nkati ja Bhana bhabho, numbe a Nnungu shangupe, shibhankuye Mwana nkati jabho.
If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and will glorify Him immediately.
33 “Mmanganya ashibhanangu, shindame na mmanganyanji kwa malanga gashokope. Shinnoleyanje, ikabheje nnaino ngunakummalanjilanga malinga shinaabhalanjilenje Bhayaudi kuti, ‘Kungwenda mmanganyanji nkakombolanga kuika!’
Little children, I am with you a little while longer. You will look for me, and as I told the Jews, I now tell you, also, ‘Where I am going, you can’t come.’
34 Ngunakumpanganga amuli ja ambi, Mpingane, malinga shinimpinjilenje mmanganyanji.
I give to you a new commandment, that you sincerely love one another, even as I have sincerely loved you, so you should also sincerely love one another.
35 Mpinganaga, bhandu bhowe shibhamanyanje kuti mmanganya bhaajiganywa bhangu.”
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have sincere love for one another.”
36 A Shimoni Petili gubhaabhushiye, “Mmakulungwa, kunkwenda kwei?” A Yeshu gubhajangwile, “Kungwenda nkakombola kungagula nnaino, ikabheje kungai shinngagule.”
Simon Peter asked Him, “Lord, where are You going?” Jesus answered, “Where I go, you aren’t able to follow me now, but you will follow later.”
37 A Petili gubhaalugulile, “Mmakulungwa, kwa nndi ngunakombole kunkagula nnaino? Nne shing'engwe nkali kuwa kwa ligongo lyenu mmwe.”
Peter asked Him, “Lord, why can’t I follow You right now? I will lay down my life for You.”
38 A Yeshu gubhaajangwile, “Bhuli! Kweli mmwe shinng'engwe kuwa kwa ligongo lyangu nne? Kweli ngunakunnugulila, lipongo akanabhe kongobhela shinngane patatu!”
Jesus answered, “Will you lay down your life for my sake? Most assuredly, I tell you, the rooster won’t crow until you have denied me three times.
