1 Likanisha lya ku Antiokia bhashinkupagwanga bhandunji bhananji bhalinginji ashinkulondola bha a Nnungu na bhananji bhaajiganya. Munkumbimo bhaapali a Bhanabha na a Shimoni bhashemwa Bhanapi na a Lukio bha ku Kilene na a Manaeni bhalelilwe pamo na bhakulungwa a Elode, pubhalinginji na a Shauli.
Among the members of the Church at Antioch there were several Prophets and Teachers — Barnabas, Simeon who was known by the name of ‘Black’, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen, foster-brother of Prince Herod, and Saul.
2 Bhai, bhalinginji nkujuga Nnungu na tabha, Mbumu jwa Ukonjelo gwashite, “Nng'agulilanje a Bhanabha na a Shauli kwa liengo linaashemelenje.”
While they were engaged in the worship of the Lord and were fasting, the Holy Spirit said: “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul, for the work to which I have called them.”
3 Bhai, bhakajuganjeje Nnungu na kupunda tabha, gubhaabhishilenje makono, gubhaaleshilenje bhajendangane.
Accordingly, after fasting and prayer, they placed their hands on them and dismissed them.
4 Bhai, a Bhanabha na a Shauli bhakatumwanjeje naka Mbumu jwa Ukonjelo, gubhaelelenje mpaka ku Sheleukia na gwajabhula penepo gubhakwelilenje meli mpaka ku shilambo shitimbililwe na mashi sha ku Shilia.
Barnabas and Saul, sent on this mission, as they were, by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia, and from there sailed to Cyprus.
5 Bhakaikanganeje ku Shalamishi, gubhalunguyenje lilobhe lya a Nnungu nnyumba ya jujila Nnungu ya Shiyaudi. A Yowana pubhaaliji bhajangutila bhabhonji.
On reaching Salamis, they began to tell the Message of God in the Jewish Synagogues; and they had John with them as an assistant.
6 Bhakapitangananjeje pakati shilambo shitimbililwe na mashi mpaka ku Papo, kweneko gubhanng'imenenje nng'abhi jumo jwa Shiyaudi lina lyakwe a Bhaa Yeshu paitembaga nkulondola jwa a Nnungu.
After passing through the whole island, they reached Paphos, where they found an astrologer who pretended to be a Prophet — a Jew by birth, whose name was Barjoshua.
7 Jwene mundujo paliji na a Shegiashi Pauli, bhakulungwa bha shilambo shitimbililwe na mashi, bhandu bha lunda. A Shegiashi Pauli gubhaashemilenje a Bhanabha na a Shauli nkupinga bhapilikane lilobhe lya a Nnungu.
He was at the court of the Governor, Sergius Paulus, a man of intelligence, who sent for Barnabas and Saul and asked to be told God’s Message.
8 Ikabheje a Elimo bhaabhi bhala, malinga shibhaashemangaga kwa Shigiliki, gwabhataukenje nkupinga kuibhilila bhakulungwa bha shilambo shitimbililwe na mashi bhala bhanapunda kukulupalila ukilishitu.
But Elymas, the astrologer (for that is the meaning of the word), opposed them, eager to divert the Governor’s attention from the Faith.
9 Bhai, a Shauli bhashemwaga guna a Pauli, bhali bhagumbelwe na Mbumu jwa Ukonjelo, gubhaakolondolosheye meyo bhaabhi bhala,
However, Saul (who is the same as Paul), full of the Holy Spirit, fixed his eyes on him and said:
10 gubhashite, “Mmwe mmanami nkwatembanga bhandu! Mwana jwa Lijoka Lishetani. Amagongo nkutauka shindu shoshowe shili sha mmbone na sha kweli, nkapinga leka kupuganya mipanda ja mmbone ja Bhakulungwa.
“You incarnation of deceit and all fraud! You son of the Devil! You opponent of all that is good! Will you never cease to divert ‘the straight paths of the Lord’? Listen!
11 Nnaino mashili ga Bhakulungwa shigankome.
The hand of the Lord is upon you even now, and you will be blind for a time and unable to see the sun.” Immediately a mist and darkness fell upon him, and he went feeling about for some one to guide him.
12 Bhakulungwa bha shilambo shitimbililwe na mashi bhala bhakagabhoneje genego, gubhajinjile ukilishitu, gubhakanganigwe kwa kaje bhakapilikaneje majiganyo ga Bhakulungwa.
When the Governor saw what had happened, he became a believer in Christ, being greatly impressed by the teaching about the Lord.
13 Gwajabhula ku Papo, a Pauli na ajabhonji gubhakwelilenje meli gubhapitengenenje mpaka ku Pega ku Pampilia. Ikabheje a Yowana Maliko gubhaaleshilenje nibhuja ku Yelushalemu.
After this, Paul and his companions set sail from Paphos and went to Perga in Pamphylia, where John left them and returned to Jerusalem.
14 Ikabheje bhalabhonji gubhajabhulengene ku Pega gubhapitilenje pakati shilambo, gubhaikengenenje ku Antiokia shilambo sha Pishidia. Lyubha lya Pumulila gubhajinjilenje nshinagogi, gubhatemingenenje.
The others went on from Perga and arrived at Antioch in Pisidia. There they went into the Synagogue on the Sabbath and took their seats.
15 Bhakashomanjeje shitabhu sha Shalia ja a Musha na majandiko ga Ashinkulondola bha a Nnungu, bhakulungwanji bha shinagogi gubhantumilenje mundu akaabhalanjilanje kuti. “Ashaapwetu, ibhaga nkwetenje malobhe ga kwataganga ntima bhandunjibha, mmeleketanje,”
After the reading of the Law and the Prophets, the President of the Synagogue sent them this message — “Brothers, if you have any helpful words to address to the people, now is the time to speak.”
16 Bhai a Pauli gubhajimi gubhagolweye nkono, nkupinga bhapumulanje gubhashite, “Bhashilambo bha pa Ishilaeli na mmowe nkwaajogopanga a Nnungu mpilikananje!
So Paul rose and, motioning with his hand, spoke as follows: “Men of Israel and all here who reverence God, hear what I have to say.
17 A Nnungu bha bhandunji bha pa Ishilaeli bhashinkwaagulanga ashinakulubhetu, nikwakuyanga kubha likabhila likulungwa pubhatamanganaga kuujeni ku shilambo sha Mishili. A Nungu gubhaashoshiyenje kweneko kwa mashili gabho gamakulungwa.
The God of this people Israel chose our ancestors, and during their stay in Egypt increased the prosperity of the people, and then ‘with uplifted arm brought them out from that land.’
18 Kwa yaka makumi nsheshe nng'anga gubhaipililile itendi yabhonji.
For about forty years ‘he bore with them in the Desert’;
19 Bhakaabhulaganjeje bhandunji bha makabhila shabha ku Kanaani, nigubhaapelenje bhandunji bhabho yene ilamboyo kubha ulishi gwabhonji.
then, after destroying seven heathen nations in Canaan, he allotted their land to this people —
20 Yaka mia nsheshe na makumi nng'ano guipitile.” “Kungai gubhaapelenje bhaukumulanga bhaalongoyanje mpaka mobha ga a Shamweli ankulondola bha a Nnungu.
For about four hundred and fifty years. In later times he gave them Judges, of whom the Prophet Samuel was the last.
21 Bhai gubhajujilenje bhapegwanje mpalume, a Nnungu gubhaapelenje a Shauli bhanabhabho a Kishi, bha kabhila ja a Bhenjamini, bhabhe a mpalume bhabhonji kwa yaka makumi nsheshe.
And, when they demanded a king, God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, who reigned for forty years.
22 Bhakaashoyeje a Shauli, a Nnungu gubhaagwile a Daudi kubha bhakulungwa bhabhonji. A Nnungu gubhalangwile shibhashite engwa bhalinkuti. ‘Nimmweni Daudi mwana gwabho a Yeshe, anonyela muntima gwangu, mumdu apinga tenda yowe ingupinga nne.’
After removing him, he raised David to the throne, and bore this testimony to him — ‘In David, the son of Jesse, I have found a man after my own heart, who will carry out all my purposes.’
23 Kukoposhela nnubheleko luka jwene mundujo, a Nnungu malinga shibhashite lajila, bhandu bha pa Ishilaeli bhashikumpeleshelanga nkugombola, yani a Yeshu.
It was from this man’s descendants that God, in accordance with his promise, gave Israel a Saviour — Jesus;
24 A Yeshu bhakanabhe tandubha liengo lyabho, a Yowana bhashinkwaalongolela bhalilunguya kuti bhandunji bhowe bha pa Ishilaeli bhanaapinjikwanga bhaipetanje na bhatishwa.
John having first proclaimed, before the appearance of Jesus, a baptism upon repentance for all the people of Israel.
25 A Yowana bhalimaliya liengo lyabho bhabhelekete nnei. ‘Punkuganishiyanga kuti nne gani? Nne nngabha bhunkwaalolelangabho. Bhenebho bhanakwiya nnyuma jangu na nne ngapinjikwa nkali kugopola mbundo ya ilatu yabho.’”
As John was drawing towards the end of his career, he said what do you suppose that I am? I am not the Christ. But there is “One Coming” after me, whose very sandal I am not worthy to untie.’
26 “Ashaapwanga, mmanganyanji nninginji bha shipinga sha a Bhulaimu na bhandunji bhangabha Bhayaudi bhakwaajogopanga a Nnungu! Malobhe ga ntapulo gatuishile.
Brothers, descendants of Abraham, and all those among you who reverence God, it was to us that the Message of this Salvation was sent.
27 Pabha bhashilambo bha ku Yelushalemu na ashikalongolele bhabhonji bhakaamanyinjiji a Yeshu, wala malobhe ga ashinkulondola bha a Nnungu gashomwaga Mobha ga Pumulila gowe. Nkali nneyo, bhashinkugatendanga malobhe ga ashinkulondola bha a Nnungu gamalile kwa kwaukumula a Yeshu bhabhulagwe.
The people of Jerusalem and their leading men, failing to recognise Jesus, and not understanding the utterances of the Prophets that are read every Sabbath, fulfilled them by condemning him.
28 Nkali bhalepelenje kushibhona shibhalebhile sha kwaatenda bhabhulagwe, Bhayaudi bhashinkwajuganga a Pilato bhaaukumule kubhulagwa.”
They found no ground at all for putting him to death, and yet demanded his execution from Pilate;
29 “Na bhakamaliyeje kutenda gowe gubhajandishilwe a Yeshu, gubhaatuluyenje munkongo mula gubhaabhishilenje nnikabhuli.
and, after carrying out everything written about him, they took Jesus down from the cross, and laid him in a tomb.
30 Ikabheje a Nnungu gubhaayushiye.
But God raised him from the dead;
and he appeared for many days to those who had gone up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, and who are now witnesses for him to the people.
32 “Na uwe tunakunnungushiyanga Ngani ja Mmbone ja malagano ga a Nnungu jibhapegwilwenje ashinakulubhetu,
We also have good news to tell you, about the promise made to our ancestors —
33 a Nnungu bhashikugatenda gamalile nnaino kwetu uwe uukulu gwabhonji, kwa kwaayuya a Yeshu, malinga shiijandikwe nshitabhu sha Shabhuli ja bhili, ‘Ugwe Mwanangu, Nne lelo Nanng'inago.’
That our children have had this promise completely fulfilled to them by God, by his raising Jesus. That is just what is said in the second Psalm — ‘Thou art my Son; this day I have become thy Father.’
34 Na ga kwayuya kukopoka kubhawilenje, bhanawe kabhili, a Nnungu pubhashite nnei. ‘Shinikupe mboka ya Ukonjelo na ya kweli inaalajile a Daudi.’
As to his raising Jesus from the dead, never again to return to corruption, this is what is said — ‘I will give to you the sacred promises made to David;’
35 Na muna gubhashite kabhili, ‘Nkanneka jwa Ukonjelo jwenu abhole.’
And, therefore, in another Psalm it is said — ‘Thou wilt not give up the Holy One to undergo corruption.’
36 Pabha, a Daudi bhayene bhakamaliyeje kutenda gubhapinjile a Nnungu nnubheleko lwabho, kungai gubhawile gubhabhishilwe nnikabhuli tome na ashainabhabho na shiilu shabho shikubholaga.
David, after obediently doing God’s will in his own time, ‘fell asleep and was laid by the side of his ancestors, and did undergo corruption;
37 Ikabheje bhayushiywe na a Nnungubha, shiilu shabho shangabhola.”
but Jesus, whom God raised from the dead, did not undergo corruption.
38 “Kwa nneyo, ashaapwanga mmumanyanje kuti, kupitila a Yeshubho nnaalungushiywanga ngani ja leshelelwa yambi na kila akwaakulupalila bhenebho analeshelelwa yambi yakwe.
I would, therefore, have you know, brothers, that through Jesus forgiveness of sins is being proclaimed to you,
39 Na kuti jojowe akwaakulupalila a Yeshu anaaleshelelwa ilebho yowe, genego gakanatendeshe kwa Malajilo ga a Musha.
and that, in union with him, every one who believes in him is absolved from every sin from which under the Law of Moses you could not be absolved.
40 Bhai, mwiteiganje ganakumpatanga gajandikwe na ashinkulondola bha a Nnungu.
Beware, therefore, that what is said in the Prophets does not come true of you —
41 ‘Mpilikananje mmanganyanji mmanyegaya, nkanganigwanje nng'obhanje! Pabha shindu shingutenda nnaino, mmobha genunji gano, nkashikulupalilanga nkali mundu antalashiyangaga.’”
‘Look, you despisers, and wonder, and perish; For I am doing a deed in your days — A deed which, though told you in full, you will never believe’.”
42 A Pauli na a Bhanabha pubhakopokanganaga nshinagogi mula, bhandunji bhala bhakwaajugangaga bhajiyangananje Lyubha lina lya Pumulila, kubhaatalashiyanje kabhili gene malobhego.
As Paul and Barnabas were leaving the Synagogue, the people begged for a repetition of this teaching on the next Sabbath.
43 Shitamo shila shikamaleje, Bhayaudi bhabhagwinji na bhandunji bhangabha Bhayaudi bhailundilenje na dini ja Shiyaudi gubhaakagulenje a Pauli na a Bhanabha. Mitume bhala gubhakungulwishe nabhonji nkwataganga ntima bhapundanje kukulupalila ntuka gwa a Nnungu.
After the congregation had dispersed, many of the Jews, and of the converts who joined in their worship, followed Paul and Barnabas, who talked with them and urged them to continue to rely upon the loving-kindness of God.
44 Lyubha lya Pumulila lyakagwile, tome bhandunji bhowe bha pashilambo pala gubhaikengenenje kupilikanishiya lilobhe lya Bhakulungwa.
On the following Sabbath, almost all the city gathered to hear God’s Message.
45 Ikabheje Bhayaudi bhakalubhonanjeje lugwinjili lwa bhandu gubhaabhonelenje lupimililo, gubhataukenje malobhe gubhabheleketaga a Pauli akuno bhalikwaatukananga.
But the sight of the crowds of people filled the minds of the Jews with jealousy, and they kept contradicting Paul’s statements in violent language.
46 Nkali nneyo, a Pauli na a Bhanabha gubhabheleketenje gwangali bhoga bhalinkutinji, “Ishinkupinjikwa lilobhe lya a Nnungu litandubhe kunng'ishilanga, ikabheje pabha nshikulikananga nikwiibhona nkapinjikwanga kuupata gumi gwa pitipiti, bhai tunakunnekanga twaajendelanje bhandunji bhangabha Bhayaudi. (aiōnios g166)
Then Paul and Barnabas spoke out fearlessly, and said: “It was necessary that the Message of God should be told to you first; but, since you reject it and reckon yourselves not worthy of the Immortal Life — we turn to the Gentiles! (aiōnios g166)
47 Pabha tushilajilwa na Bhakulungwa kuti, ‘Njikuubhika ugwe ubhe shilangaya sha bhandunji bhangabha Bhayaudi, nkupinga ubhe ntapulo gwa pa shilambolyo.’”
For this is the Lord’s command to us — ‘I have destined thee for a Light to the Gentiles, A means of Salvation to the ends of the earth’.”
48 Bandunji bhangabha Bhayaudi bhakapilikananjeje genego guyaanonyelenje, gubhalikushiyenje lilobhe lya Bhakulungwa na bhatumbililwenje kuupata gumi gwa pitipiti bhala, gubhaakulupalilenje a Yeshu. (aiōnios g166)
On hearing this, the Gentiles were glad and extolled God’s Message; and all those who had been enrolled for Immortal Life became believers in Christ; (aiōnios g166)
49 Lilobhe lya Bhakulungwa gulishumile shilambo showe shila.
and the Lord’s Message was carried throughout that district.
50 Ikabheje Bhayaudi gubhaakwishiyenje bhanabhakongwe bha manyika bhakwaajogopanga a Nnungu na ashikalongolele bha shene shilambo shila, gubhatandubhenje kwaapoteka a Pauli na a Bhanabha, nigubhaabhinjilenje nshilambo shabhonji.
But the Jews incited the women of position who worshiped with them, and the leading men of the town, and started a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their neighbourhood.
51 Bhai, bhantenga gubhakung'undenje ndutuli ja mmakongono gabhonji mbuti shileyo, gubhapitengenenje ku Ikonio.
They, however, shook the dust off their feet in protest,
52 Na bhaajiganywa bha ku Antiokia bhala gubhainonyelenje na gubhagumbelenjwe naka Mbumu jwa Ukonjelo.
and went to Iconium, leaving the disciples full of joy and of the Holy Spirit.
