What, then, will we say? Will we continue in sin that grace may abound?
Let it not be! We who died to sin—how will we still live in it?
3 ३ किंवा आपण जितक्यांनी ख्रिस्त येशूमध्ये बाप्तिस्मा घेतला, त्या आपण त्याच्या मरणात बाप्तिस्मा घेतला हे तुम्ही जाणत नाही काय?
Are you ignorant that we, as many as were immersed into Christ Jesus, were immersed into His death?
4 ४ म्हणून आपण त्याच्या मरणातील बाप्तिस्म्याने त्याच्याबरोबर पुरले गेलो, ते ह्यासाठी की जसा ख्रिस्त पित्याच्या गौरवामुळे मरण पावलेल्यांमधून उठवला गेला तसेच आपणही जीवनाच्या नवेपणात चालले पाहिजे.
We were buried together, then, with Him through the immersion into death, that even as Christ was raised up out of the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.
5 ५ कारण जर त्याच्या मरणाच्या रूपात आपण त्याच्याशी जोडलेले आहोत तर त्याच्या पुन्हा उठण्याच्या रूपात आपण त्याच्याशी जोडलेले होऊ.
For if we have become planted together to the likeness of His death, [so] we also will be of the resurrection;
6 ६ आपण जाणतो की आपल्यामधील जुना मनुष्य त्याच्याबरोबर वधस्तंभावर खिळला गेला आहे, म्हणजे पापाचे शरीर नष्ट होऊन आपण पुढे पापाचे दास्य करू नये.
knowing this, that our old man was crucified with [Him], that the body of sin may be made useless, for our no longer serving sin,
for he who has died has been set free from sin.
8 ८ पण आपण जर ख्रिस्ताबरोबर मरण पावलो असलो, तर आपण त्याच्याबरोबर जिवंतही राहू असा आपण विश्वास ठेवतो.
And if we died with Christ, we believe that we also will live with Him,
9 ९ कारण आपण हे जाणतो की, मरण पावलेल्यांमधून उठलेला ख्रिस्त पुन्हा मरणार नाही. त्याच्यावर मरणाची सत्ता अजिबात राहिली नाही.
knowing that Christ, having been raised up out of the dead, dies no more; death has no more lordship over Him;
for in that He died, He died to sin once, and in that He lives, He lives to God;
11 ११ तसेच आपण ख्रिस्त येशूमध्ये खरोखर पापाला मरण पावलेले पण देवाला जिवंत आहोत असे तुम्ही स्वतःला माना.
so also you, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, and living to God in Jesus Christ our Lord.
12 १२ म्हणून तुम्ही आपल्या मरणाधीन शरीरात त्याच्या वासनांच्या अधीन होण्यास पापाला राज्य चालवू देऊ नका.
Do not let then sin reign in your mortal body, to obey it in its desires;
13 १३ आणि तुम्ही आपले अवयव अनीतीची साधने म्हणून पापाला समर्पण करू नका. पण तुम्ही आपल्या स्वतःला मरण पावलेल्यातून जिवंत झालेले असे देवाला समर्पण करा आणि आपले स्वतःचे अवयव नीतिमत्त्वाची साधने म्हणून तुम्ही देवाला समर्पण करा.
neither present your members instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as living out of the dead, and your members instruments of righteousness to God;
14 १४ तुमच्यावर पापाची सत्ता चालणार नाही कारण तुम्ही नियमशास्त्राधीन नाही, पण कृपेखाली आणले गेला आहात.
for sin will not have lordship over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.
15 १५ मग काय? मग आपण नियमशास्त्राखाली नसून कृपेखाली आणले गेलो आहोत, म्हणून आपण पाप करावे काय? कधीच नाही.
What then? Will we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Let it not be!
16 १६ तुम्ही ज्याला आपल्या स्वतःला दास म्हणून आज्ञा पाळण्यास समर्पण करता, तुम्ही ज्याच्या आज्ञा पाळता त्याचे तुम्ही दास आहात. ते मरणासाठी पापाचे किंवा नीतिमत्त्वासाठी आज्ञापालनाचे, हे तुम्ही जाणत नाही काय?
Have you not known that to whom you present yourselves servants for obedience, servants you are to him to whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?
17 १७ पण देवाला धन्यवाद कारण तुम्ही पापाचे दास असतानाही तुम्ही ज्या शिक्षणाच्या शिस्तीखाली ठेवला गेला त्याच्या तुम्ही मनापासून आज्ञा पाळल्या.
And thanks to God, that you were servants of sin, and—were obedient from the heart to the form of teaching to which you were delivered up;
and having been freed from sin, you became servants to righteousness.
19 १९ मी तुमच्या देहाच्या अशक्तपणामुळे मनुष्यांच्या व्यवहारास अनुसरून बोलतो कारण जसे तुमचे अवयव अमंगळपणाला व अनाचाराला अनाचारासाठी दास होण्यास समर्पित केलेत तसेच आता तुमचे अवयव नीतिमत्त्वाला पवित्रीकरणासाठी दास होण्यास समर्पण करा.
I speak in a human [way], because of the weakness of your flesh, for even as you presented your members servants to the uncleanness and to the lawlessness—to the lawlessness, so now present your members servants to righteousness—to sanctification,
for when you were servants of sin, you were free from righteousness.
21 २१ आता तुम्हास ज्यांची लाज वाटते त्या गोष्टींपासून तेव्हा तुम्हास काय फळ मिळत होते? कारण त्या गोष्टींचा शेवट मरण आहे.
What fruit, therefore, were you having then, in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those [is] death.
22 २२ पण आता तुम्ही पापापासून मुक्त केले जाऊन देवाचे दास झाला असल्यामुळे, आता तुम्हास पवित्रीकरण हे फळ आहे आणि शेवटी सार्वकालिक जीवन आहे. (aiōnios g166)
And now, having been freed from sin, and having become servants to God, you have your fruit—to sanctification, and the end continuous life; (aiōnios g166)
