स्तोत्रसंहिता 44

1 १ मुख्य गायकासाठी; कोरहाच्या मुलांचे मसकील (शिक्षण) हे देवा, आम्ही तुझ्याबद्दल ऐकले आहे. आमच्या वडिलांनी ते आम्हास सांगितले आहे, की पुरातन दिवसात तू, त्यांच्या दिवसात काय कार्य केलेस.

For the Chief Musician; [a Psalm] of the sons of Korah. Maschil. We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the days of old.

2 २ तू तुझ्या हाताने राष्ट्रांना घालवून दिलेस, परंतु आपल्या लोकांस स्थापिले, तू लोकांस पीडले परंतु आपल्या लोकांस तू वाढवले.

Thou didst drive out the nations with thy hand, and plantedst them in; thou didst afflict the peoples, and didst spread them abroad.

3 ३ कारण त्यांनी आपल्या तलवारीने देश मिळवला नाही. आणि त्यांच्या बाहूंनी त्यांना तारले नाही. परंतू तुझा उजवा हात, तुझा भुज, तुझ्या मुखाच्या प्रकाशाने त्यांना तारले, कारण तू त्यांच्यावर अनुकूल होतास.

For they gat not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.

4 ४ देवा, तू माझा राजा आहेस, याकोबाला विजय मिळावा म्हणून आज्ञा दे.

Thou art my King, O God: command deliverance for Jacob.

5 ५ तुझ्या मदतीने आम्ही शत्रूला मागे ढकलू. जे आमच्याविरूद्ध उठतात, तुझ्या नावाने आम्ही आमच्या शत्रूंना तुडवून टाकू.

Through thee will we push down our adversaries: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.

6 ६ कारण माझ्या धनुष्यबाणांवर माझा विश्वास नाही. किंवा माझी तलवार मला वाचवू शकेल.

For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.

7 ७ परंतु तू आम्हांला आमच्या शत्रूंपासून वाचवले आहेस. आणि जे आमचा द्वेष करतात त्यांना लाजवले आहेस.

But thou hast saved us from our adversaries, and hast put them to shame that hate us.

8 ८ देवाच्या ठायी रोज आम्ही आमचा अभिमान बाळगला आहे, आणि तुझ्या नावाला आम्ही सर्वकाळ महिमा देऊ. (सेला)

In God have we made our boast all the day long, and we will give thanks unto thy name for ever. (Selah)

9 ९ परंतु आता तू आम्हास फेकून दिले आहे, आणि आमची अप्रतिष्ठा होऊ दिली आहे. आणि तू आमच्या सैन्यासोबत पुढे जात नाहीस.

But now thou hast cast [us] off, and brought us to dishonour; and goest not forth with our hosts.

10 १० तू आमच्या शत्रूंपुढे आम्हास मागे हटण्यास लावले, आणि आमचा द्वेष करणारे त्यांच्यासाठी लूट घेतात.

Thou makest us to turn back from the adversary: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.

11 ११ तू आम्हास भक्ष्याकरता योजलेल्या मेंढ्यासारखे केले आहे, आणि आम्हास देशात विखरून टाकले आहेस.

Thou hast given us like sheep [appointed] for meat; and hast scattered us among the nations.

12 १२ तू तुझ्या लोकांस कवडीमोलाने विकलेस, आणि असे करून तू आपली संपत्ती देखील वाढवली नाही.

Thou sellest thy people for nought, and hast not increased [thy wealth] by their price.

13 १३ तू शेजाऱ्यांमध्ये आम्हांस निंदा आणि आमच्या सभोवती असणाऱ्यांमध्ये आम्हांस हसण्याजोगे आणि थट्टा असे केले आहे.

Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.

14 १४ राष्ट्रांमध्ये तू आम्हास अपमान असे केले आहे, लोक आम्हास बघून आपले डोके हलवतात.

Thou makest us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.

15 १५ सर्व दिवस माझी अप्रतिष्ठा माझ्या समोर असते. आणि माझ्या मुखावरच्या लज्जेने मला झाकले आहे.

All the day long is my dishonour before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,

16 १६ कारण माझ्या निंदकाच्या आणि अपमानाच्या शब्दाने, शत्रू आणि सुड घेणाऱ्यांमुळे माझे मुख लज्जेने झाकले आहे.

For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and the avenger.

17 १७ हे सर्व आमच्यावर आले आहे, तरी आम्ही तुला विसरलो नाही, किंवा करारांत खोटे वागलो नाही.

All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.

18 १८ आमचे हृदय मागे फिरले नाही, आमची पावले तुझ्यापासून दूर गेली नाहीस.

Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;

19 १९ तरी तू आम्हास कोल्हे राहतात त्या जागेत चिरडलेस, आणि मृत्यूछायेने आम्हास झाकले आहेस.

That thou hast sore broken us in the place of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.

20 २० जर आम्ही आमच्या देवाचे नाव विसरलो असेल किंवा आमचे हात अनोळखी देवाकडे पसरवले असतील,

If we have forgotten the name of our God, or spread forth our hands to a strange god;

21 २१ तर देव हे शोधून काढणार नाही काय? कारण तो हृदयातील गुप्त गोष्टी जाणतो.

Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.

22 २२ खरोखर, आम्ही दिवसभर तुझ्यासाठी मारले जात आहोत. मारण्यासाठी नेल्या जाणाऱ्या मेंढ्यांप्रमाणे आम्ही आहोत.

Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.

23 २३ प्रभू, ऊठ तू का झोपला आहेस? ऊठ, आम्हास कायमचा सोडून जाऊ नकोस.

Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast [us] not off for ever.

24 २४ तू आमच्यापासून आपले मुख का लपवतोस? आणि आमचे दु: ख आणि आमच्यावरचे जुलूम तू का विसरतोस?

Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?

25 २५ कारण आमचा जीव धुळीस खालपर्यंत गेला आहे, आणि आमचे पोट भूमीला चिकटले आहे.

For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.

26 २६ आमच्या साहाय्याला ऊठ! आणि तुझ्या प्रेमदयेस्तव आम्हास वाचव.

Rise up for our help, and redeem us for thy lovingkindness’ sake.
