स्तोत्रसंहिता 14

1 १ मुख्य गायकासाठी; दाविदाचे स्तोत्र. मूर्ख आपल्या हृदयात म्हणतो, “देव नाही.” ते भ्रष्ट झाले आहेत आणि त्यांनी घृणास्पद अशी पापे केली आहेत. चांगले करणारा कोणीच नाही.

To the Overseer. — By David. A fool hath said in his heart, 'God is not;' They have done corruptly, They have done abominable actions, There is not a doer of good.

2 २ परमेश्वर स्वर्गातून खाली मनुष्य संतानास पाहतो की, कोणी एखादा तरी समजणारा आणि त्याच्यामागे चालणारा आहे काय?

Jehovah from the heavens Hath looked on the sons of men, To see if there is a wise one — seeking God.

3 ३ प्रत्येकजण बहकून गेला आहे, ते सर्व गलिच्छ झाले आहेत. सत्कर्म करणारा कोणीही नाही, एकही नाही.

The whole have turned aside, Together they have been filthy: There is not a doer of good, not even one.

4 ४ जे अन्याय करतात त्यांना काहीच ज्ञान नाही काय? ते भाकरी खातात तसे माझ्या लोकांस खातात; ते परमेश्वरास हाक मारत नाहीत?

Have all working iniquity not known? Those consuming my people have eaten bread, Jehovah they have not called.

5 ५ परंतु ते भीतीने थरथर कापतील, कारण देव न्यायींच्या सभेत आहे.

There they have feared a fear, For God [is] in the generation of the righteous.

6 ६ तुम्ही गरीब मनुष्याचा अपमान करू इच्छित आहात, तरी परमेश्वर त्याचा आश्रय आहे.

The counsel of the poor ye cause to stink, Because Jehovah [is] his refuge.

7 ७ अहा! सियोनातून इस्राएलाचे तारण आले तर किती बरे होईल! जेव्हा परमेश्वर त्याच्या लोकांस दास्यातून सोडवेल, तेव्हा याकोब आनंदी होईल आणि इस्राएल हर्ष करेल.

'Who doth give from Zion the salvation of Israel? When Jehovah doth turn back [To] a captivity of His people, Jacob doth rejoice — Israel is glad!
