स्तोत्रसंहिता 137

1 १ आम्ही बाबेलाच्या नद्यांजवळ खाली बसलो; आणि जेव्हा आम्ही सियोनेविषयी विचार केला तेव्हा रडलो.

By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.

2 २ तेथील वाळुंजावर आम्ही आमच्या वीणा टांगल्या.

Upon the willows in the midst thereof we hanged up our harps.

3 ३ तेथे आम्हास पकडणाऱ्यांनी आम्हास गाणी गावयाला सांगितले आणि आमची थट्टा करणाऱ्यांनी आम्ही त्यांच्यासाठी करमणूक करावी म्हणून आम्हांस म्हणाले, सीयोनाच्या गाण्यांतले एखादे गाणे आम्हांला गाऊन दाखवा.

For there they that led us captive asked of us words of song, and our tormentors asked of us mirth: 'Sing us one of the songs of Zion.'

4 ४ परक्या देशात आम्ही परमेश्वराचे गाणे कसे गावे?

How shall we sing the LORD'S song in a foreign land?

5 ५ हे यरूशलेमे, मी जर तुला विसरलो, तर माझा उजवा हात आपले कौशल्य विसरो.

If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.

6 ६ जर मी तुला विसरलो, जर मी यरूशलेमेला आपल्या आनंदाच्या मुख्य विषयाहून अधिक मानले नाही तर माझी जीभ माझ्या टाळूला चिकटो.

Let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth, if I remember thee not; if I set not Jerusalem above my chiefest joy.

7 ७ हे परमेश्वरा, अदोमाविरूद्ध यरूशलेमेच्या त्या दिवसाची आठवण कर, ते म्हणाले, ती पाडून टाका, पायापर्यंत पाडून टाका.

Remember, O LORD, against the children of Edom the day of Jerusalem; who said: 'Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.'

8 ८ हे बाबेलाच्या कन्ये, तू लवकरच ओसाड पडणार आहेस, कारण जसे तू आम्हास केले तसे, जो तुला परत करील तो आशीर्वादित आहे.

O daughter of Babylon, that art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that repayeth thee as thou hast served us.

9 ९ जो तुझी बालके घेऊन त्यांना खडकावर आपटून ठार मारतो तो आशीर्वादित होईल.

Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the rock.
