1 १ दाविदाचे स्तोत्र हे परमेश्वरा, माझे हृदय गर्विष्ठ नाही किंवा माझे डोळे उन्मत्त नाही. मी आपल्यासाठी मोठमोठ्या आशा ठेवत नाही, किंवा ज्या माझ्या समजण्या पलीकडे आहेत अशा गोष्टीत मी पडत नाही.

A Song of degrees of David. LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.

2 २ खरोखर मी आपला जीव निवांत व शांत ठेवला आहे; जसे दूध तुटलेले बालक आपल्या आईबरोबर असते; तसा माझा जीव, दूध तुटलेल्या बालकासारखा माझ्या ठायी आहे.

Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul [is] even as a weaned child.

3 ३ हे इस्राएला, आतापासून आणि सर्वकाळ तू परमेश्वरावर आशा ठेव.

Let Israel hope in the LORD from henceforth and for ever.
