गणना 32
1 १ रऊबेन आणि गाद या घराण्यांकडे गुरांढोरांची खूप खिल्लारे होते. त्यांनी याजेर व गिलाद येथील जमिनी पाहिल्या. ही जमीन आपल्या गुरांढोरांसाठी चांगली आहे असे त्यांना वाटले.
Now the children of Reuben [See, a son!] and the children of Gad [Good fortune] had a very great multitude of livestock. When they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead, that behold, the place was a place for livestock;
2 २ म्हणून रऊबेन व गाद यांच्या घराण्यातील लोक मोशेकडे आले. ते मोशे, याजक एलाजार आणि लोकांचे पुढारी यांच्याशी बोलले.
the children of Gad [Good fortune] and the children of Reuben [See, a son!] came and spoke to Moses [Drawn out], and to Eleazar [Help of God] the priest, and to the princes of the congregation, saying,
“Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Sebam, Nebo, and Beon,
4 ४ ह्यांचा जो प्रांत परमेश्वराने इस्राएलाच्या लोकांसाठी देवाने जी जमीन जिंकली ती गुरांढोरांसाठी खूप चांगली आहे आणि तुझ्या दासांजवळ गुरेढोरे आहेत.
the land which Adonai struck before the congregation of Israel [God prevails], is a land for livestock; and your servants have livestock.”
5 ५ जर आम्हावर तुझी कृपादृष्टी असेल तर तो प्रदेश आम्हास वतन करून देण्यात यावा. आम्हास यार्देन नदीच्या पलिकडे नेऊ नको.
They said, “If we have found chen ·grace· in your sight, let this land be given to your servants for a possession. Don’t bring us over the Jordan [Descender].”
6 ६ रऊबेन आणि गादच्या घराण्यातील लोकांस मोशे म्हणाला, तुमचे भाऊबंद लढाईस जातील तेव्हा तुम्ही येथेच बसून राहणार का?
Moses [Drawn out] said to the children of Gad [Good fortune], and to the children of Reuben [See, a son!], “Shall your brothers go to the war, and shall you sit here?
7 ७ जो देश परमेश्वराने इस्राएल लोकांस दिला आहे तेथे उतरून जाण्याकरता त्यांचे मन का निरूत्साहित करीत आहात?
Why do you discourage the heart of the children of Israel [God prevails] from going over into the land which Adonai has given them?
8 ८ तुमच्या वाडवडिलांनी हीच गोष्ट माझ्याबाबतीत केली होती. कादेश-बर्ण्याला मी काही हेरांना जमीन बघण्यासाठी पाठवले.
Your fathers did so when I sent them from Kadesh Barnea [Consecrated Son-inconstant] to see the land.
9 ९ ते लोक अष्कोल खोऱ्यापर्यंत गेले. त्यांनी जमीन बघितली आणि त्या लोकांनी इस्राएल लोकांस परमेश्वराने दिलेल्या प्रदेशात जाण्याच्या इच्छेपासून परावृत केले.
For when they went up to the valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel [God prevails], that they should not go into the land which Adonai had given them.
Adonai’s anger burned in that day, and he swore, saying,
11 ११ मिसर देशातून आलेल्या वीस वर्षांवरील कोणत्याही मनुष्यास हा प्रदेश बघू दिला जाणार नाही. मी अब्राहाम, इसहाक व याकोब यांना वचन दिले होते. त्यांना मी ही जमीन द्यायचे कबूल केले होते. परंतु त्यांनी मला मनापासून अनुसरले नाही. म्हणून त्यांना हा प्रदेश मिळणार नाही.
‘Surely none of the men who came up out of Egypt [Abode of slavery], from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore to Abraham [Father of a multitude], to Isaac [Laughter], and to Jacob [Supplanter]; because they have not wholly followed me,
except Caleb [Dog] the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, and Joshua [Yah Salvation] the son of Nun; because they have followed Adonai completely.’
13 १३ परमेश्वर इस्राएल लोकांवर खूप रागावला होता. परमेशवराच्यादृष्टीने त्यांनी वाईट कृत्ये केली त्यांची सर्व पिढी नष्ट होईपर्यंत त्यांना चाळीस वर्षे रानात भटकावयास लावले.
Adonai’s anger burned against Israel [God prevails], and he made them wander back and forth in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, who had done evil in Adonai’s sight, was consumed.
14 १४ आणि आता तुमच्या वाडवडिलांनी जी गोष्ट केली तीच तुम्ही करीत आहात. पाप्यांनो परमेश्वराने त्याच्या इस्राएल लोकांवर आणखी रागवावे अशी तुमची इच्छा आहे का?
“Behold, you have risen up in your fathers’ place, an increase of men who sin ·intentionally miss the mark goal·, to increase the fierce anger of Adonai toward Israel [God prevails].
15 १५ जर तुम्ही परमेश्वराची भक्ति करायचे सोडले तर परमेश्वर इस्राएल लोकांस अधिक काळ रानात ठेवील आणि नंतर तुम्ही त्या सर्व लोकांचा नाश कराल.
For if you turn away from after him, he will yet again leave them in the wilderness; and you will destroy all these people.”
16 १६ पण रऊबेनाच्या आणि गादच्या घराण्यातील लोक मोशेकडे गेले. ते म्हणाले, आम्ही या जागेवर आमच्या मुलांसाठी शहरे आणि आमच्या जनावरांसाठी गोठे उभारू.
They came near to him, and said, “We will build sheepfolds here for our livestock, and cities for our little ones;
17 १७ त्यामुळे आमची मुले याठिकाणी वस्ती करणाऱ्या इतर लोकांपासून सुरक्षित राहतील. पण आम्ही इस्राएलाच्या इतर लोकांस मदत करण्यासाठी आनंदाने येऊ. आम्ही त्यांना त्यांच्या प्रदेशात आणू.
but we ourselves will be ready armed to go before the children of Israel [God prevails], until we have brought them to their place. Our little ones shall dwell in the fortified cities because of the inhabitants of the land.
We will not teshuvah ·completely return· to our houses, until the children of Israel [God prevails] have each inherited their inheritance.
19 १९ यार्देनेच्या अलीकडे पूर्वेस आम्हास आमचे वतन प्राप्त झाले म्हणून आम्ही यार्देनेच्या पलीकडे व पुढे त्यांच्याबरोबर वतन घेणार नाही.
For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan [Descender], and forward; because our inheritance has come to us on this side of the Jordan [Descender] eastward.”
20 २० तेव्हा मोशे त्यांना म्हणाला, जर तुम्ही या सर्व गोष्टी केल्या तर हा प्रदेश तुमचा होईल. परंतु तुमच्या सैनिकांनी परमेश्वरासमोर लढाईत उतरले पाहिजे.
Moses [Drawn out] said to them, “If you will do this thing, if you will arm yourselves to go before Adonai to the war,
21 २१ आणि तो आपणापुढून आपले शत्रू वतनातून घालवीन आणि देश परमेश्वरापुढे हस्तगत होईल तुमच्या सैन्याने यार्देन नदी पार करून शत्रू सैन्याला या प्रदेशातून हाकलले पाहीजे.
and every armed man of you will pass over the Jordan [Descender] before Adonai, until he has driven out his enemies from before him,
22 २२ आणि तर तो देश त्याच्या ताब्यात आल्यावर तुम्ही परत याल. नंतर परमेश्वराकडे आणि इस्राएलाकडे तुम्ही निरपराधी असाल. तर हा देश परमेश्वरापुढे तुमचे वतन असा होईल.
and the land is subdued before Adonai; then afterward you shall teshuvah ·completely return·, and be guiltless towards Adonai, and towards Israel [God prevails]; and this land shall be to you for a possession before Adonai.
23 २३ पण जर तुम्ही या गोष्टी केल्या नाहीत तर तुम्ही परमेश्वराविरूद्ध पाप कराल आणि तुमच्या पापाबद्दल तुम्हास शासन होईल याची खात्री बाळगा.
“But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned ·deviated (from the standard goal)· against Adonai; and be sure your habitual sin ·missing the mark· will find you out.
24 २४ तुमच्या मुलांसाठी शहरे वसवा आणि जनावरांसाठी गोठे बांधा. पण तुम्ही वचन दिल्याप्रमाणे सारे काही करा.
Build cities for your little ones, and folds for your sheep; and do that which has proceeded out of your mouth.”
25 २५ नंतर रऊबेन आणि गादच्या कुटुंबातील लोक मोशेला म्हणाले, आम्ही तुझे नोकर आहोत. तू आमचा मालक आहेस म्हणून तू जे सांगतोस ते आम्ही करु.
The children of Gad [Good fortune] and the children of Reuben [See, a son!] spoke to Moses [Drawn out], saying, “Your servants will do as my lord enjoins us.
Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our livestock, shall be there in the cities of Gilead;
27 २७ पण आम्ही, तुझे नोकर यार्देन नदी पार करु. आम्ही परमेश्वरापुढे लढाईस जाऊ. जसे आमचा धनी सांगत आहे.
but your servants will pass over, every man who is armed for war, before Adonai to battle, as my lord says.”
28 २८ याप्रमाणे त्यांनी वचन दिले. ते मोशे, याजक एलाजार, नूनाचा मुलगा यहोशवा आणि इस्राएलचे सर्व वंशाचे प्रमुख या सर्वांनी ते ऐकले.
So Moses [Drawn out] enjoined concerning them to Eleazar [Help of God] the priest, and to Joshua [Yah Salvation] the son of Nun, and to the heads of the fathers’ households of the tribes of the children of Israel [God prevails].
29 २९ मोशे त्यांना म्हणाला, गाद आणि रऊबेनचे लोक यार्देन नदी पार करतील. ते लढाईत परमेश्वराच्यापुढे चालतील. ते तुम्हास प्रदेश जिंकायला मदत करतील आणि तुम्ही गिलादाचा प्रदेश त्यांच्या वाटेचा भाग म्हणून द्याल.
Moses [Drawn out] said to them, “If the children of Gad [Good fortune] and the children of Reuben [See, a son!] will pass with you over the Jordan [Descender], every man who is armed to battle, before Adonai, and the land is subdued before you, then you shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession;
but if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan [Humbled].”
31 ३१ गाद आणि रऊबेनच्या लोकांनी उत्तर दिले व म्हणाले, “आम्ही परमेश्वराच्या आज्ञेप्रमाणे सर्वकाही करण्याचे वचन देतो.”
The children of Gad [Good fortune] and the children of Reuben [See, a son!] answered, saying, “As Adonai has said to your servants, so will we do.
32 ३२ आम्ही स्वतः सशस्र होऊन परमेश्वरापुढे पलीकडे कनान देशात जाऊ. पण आमचे वतन यार्देन नदीच्या पूर्वेला असावे.
We will pass over armed before Adonai into the land of Canaan [Humbled], and the possession of our inheritance shall remain with us beyond the Jordan [Descender].”
33 ३३ तेव्हा मोशेने गादाचे वंशज, रऊबेनाचे वंशज आणि योसेफाचा मुलगा मनश्शे याचा अर्धा वंश अमोऱ्याचा राजा सीहोन याच्या राज्याचा व बाशानाचा राजा ओग याच्या राज्याचा देश दिला. देश, नगरे व त्यामध्ये आजुबाजूच्या प्रदेशातील नगरे दिली.
Moses [Drawn out] gave to them, even to the children of Gad [Good fortune], and to the children of Reuben [See, a son!], and to the half-tribe of Manasseh [Causing to forget] the son of Joseph [May he add], the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites [Descendants of Talkers], and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, according to its cities and borders, even the cities of the surrounding land.
The children of Gad [Good fortune] built Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer,
Atrothshophan, Jazer, Jogbehah,
36 ३६ बेथ-निम्रा आणि बेथ-हारान ही शहरे वसवली. त्यांनी शहराभोवती तटबंदी उभारली आणि त्यांच्या जनावरांसाठी गोठे बांधले.
Beth Nimrah, and Beth Haran [Mountaineer]: fortified cities, and folds for sheep.
The children of Reuben [See, a son!] built Heshbon, Elealeh, Kiriathaim,
38 ३८ नबो व बाल-मौन आणि सिब्मा ही शहरे वसवली. त्यांनी पुन्हा वसवलेल्या शहरांना जुनीच नावे दिली. पण नेबो आणि बाल-मोनचे नांव त्यांनी बदलले.
Nebo, and Baal Meon, (their names being changed), and Sibmah. They gave other names to the cities which they built.
39 ३९ माखीरच्या कुटुंबातील लोक गिलादाला गेले माखीर मनश्शेचा मुलगा होता. त्यांनी त्या शहराचा पराभव केला. तेथे राहणाऱ्या अमोरी लोकांस घालवले.
The children of Machir the son of Manasseh [Causing to forget] went to Gilead, took it, and dispossessed the Amorites [Descendants of Talkers] who were therein.
Moses [Drawn out] gave Gilead to Machir the son of Manasseh [Causing to forget]; and he lived therein.
41 ४१ मनश्शेच्या कुटुंबातील याईर याने छोट्या शहरांचा पराभव केला. नंतर त्याने त्यांना याईराची शहरे असे म्हटले.
Jair the son of Manasseh [Causing to forget] went and took its villages, and called them Havvoth Jair.
42 ४२ नोबाहाने कनाथ व त्याच्या आसपासच्या छोट्या शहरांचा पराभव केला. नंतर त्याने त्या जागेला आपले नाव दिले.
Nobah went and took Kenath, and its villages, and called it Nobah, after his own name.
