मत्तय 14
At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the fame of Jesus,
2 २ तेव्हा त्याने आपल्या चाकरांना म्हटले, “येशू हा बाप्तिस्मा करणारा योहान आहे. त्यास मरण पावलेल्यातून उठविण्यात आले आहे म्हणून याच्याठायी सामर्थ्य कार्य करीत आहे.”
and said to his servants, “This is John the Immerser, he rose from the dead, and because of this the mighty energies are working in him.”
For Herod having laid hold on John, bound him, and put him in prison, because of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife,
for John was saying to him, “It is not lawful to you to have her,”
5 ५ हेरोद त्यास मारावयास पाहत होता, पण तो लोकांस भीत होता कारण लोकांचा असा विश्वास होता की, योहान संदेष्टा आहे.
and willing to kill him, he feared the multitude, because as a prophet they were holding him.
But the birthday of Herod being kept, the daughter of Herodias danced in the midst, and pleased Herod,
after which with an oath he professed to give her whatever she might ask.
8 ८ तिच्या आईच्या सांगण्यावरून ती म्हणाली, “बाप्तिस्मा करणारा योहानाचे शीर तबकात घालून मला इथे आणून द्या.”
And she, having been instigated by her mother, says, “Give me here on a plate the head of John the Immerser”;
9 ९ हेरोद राजाला फार वाईट वाटले. तरी त्याने आपल्या शपथपूर्वक दिलेल्या वचनामुळे व आमंत्रित लोकांमुळे ते द्यावयाची आज्ञा केली.
and the king was grieved, but because of the oaths and of those dining with him, he commanded [it] to be given;
and having sent, he beheaded John in the prison,
and his head was brought on a plate, and was given to the girl, and she brought [it] near to her mother.
12 १२ मग त्याच्या शिष्यांनी येऊन त्याचे प्रेत उचलून नेले व त्यास पुरले आणि त्यांनी जाऊन जे घडले ते येशूला सांगितले.
And his disciples having come, took up the body, and buried it, and having come, they told Jesus,
13 १३ मग ते ऐकून येशू तेथून होडीत बसून निवांत जागी निघून गेला. हे ऐकून लोकसमुदाय नगरांतून त्याच्यामागे पायीपायी गेले.
and Jesus having heard, withdrew from there in a boat to a desolate place by Himself, and the multitudes having heard followed Him on land from the cities.
14 १४ मग जेव्हा त्याने मोठा लोकसमुदाय पाहिला. तेव्हा त्यास त्यांच्याविषयी कळवळा आला व जे आजारी होते त्यांना त्याने बरे केले.
And Jesus having come forth, saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion on them, and healed their sick;
15 १५ मग संध्याकाळ झाल्यावर त्याचे शिष्य त्याच्याकडे आले आणि म्हणाले, “ही अरण्यातील जागा आहे आणि भोजनाची वेळ होऊन गेली आहे. लोकांनी गावामध्ये जाऊन स्वतःकरता अन्न विकत घ्यावे म्हणून त्यांना पाठवून द्या.”
and evening having come, His disciples came to Him, saying, “The place is desolate, and the hour has now past, let away the multitudes that, having gone into the villages, they may buy food for themselves.”
And Jesus said to them, “They have no need to go away—you give them to eat.”
And they say to Him, “We have nothing here except five loaves and two fishes.”
And He said, “Bring them to Me here.”
19 १९ मग लोकांस गवतावर बसण्याची आज्ञा केली. त्याने त्या पाच भाकरी व दोन मासे घेऊन वर आकाशाकडे पाहून त्यावर आशीर्वाद मागितला. नंतर त्याने भाकरी मोडून शिष्यांना दिल्या व शिष्यांनी लोकांस दिल्या.
And having commanded the multitudes to recline on the grass, and having taken the five loaves and the two fishes, having looked up to the sky, He blessed, and having broken, He gave the loaves to the disciples, and the disciples [gave] to the multitudes,
and they all ate, and were filled, and they took up what was over of the broken pieces twelve hand-baskets full;
and those eating were about five thousand men, apart from women and children.
22 २२ मी लोकसमुदायास निरोप देत आहे तो तुम्ही तारवात बसून माझ्यापुढे पलीकडे जा असे म्हणून त्याने लगेच शिष्यांना पाठवून दिले.
And immediately Jesus constrained His disciples to go into the boat, and to go before Him to the other side, until He might let away the multitudes;
23 २३ लोकांस पाठवून दिल्यावर तो प्रार्थना करण्यास एकांत ठिकाणी डोंगरावर गेला, रात्र झाली तेव्हा तो तेथे एकटाच होता.
and having let away the multitudes, He went up to the mountain by Himself to pray, and evening having come, He was there alone,
24 २४ पण तारू सरोवरामध्ये होते. इकडे वारा विरूद्ध दिशेने वाहत असल्यामुळे तारू लाटांनी हेलकावत होते व त्यामुळे ते त्याच्यावर ताबा ठेवू शकत नव्हते.
and the boat was now in the midst of the sea, distressed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.
And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went away to them, walking on the sea,
and the disciples having seen Him walking on the sea, were troubled, saying, “It is an apparition,” and from the fear they cried out;
and immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take courage! I AM; do not be afraid.”
And Peter answering Him said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the waters”;
and He said, “Come”; and having gone down from the boat, Peter walked on the waters to come to Jesus,
30 ३० पण तो पाण्यावर चालत असताना जोराचा वारा पाहून तो भ्याला आणि बुडू लागला असता ओरडून म्हणाला “प्रभूजी, मला वाचवा.”
but seeing the vehement wind, he was afraid, and having begun to sink, he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
And immediately Jesus, having stretched forth the hand, laid hold of him and says to him, “Little faith! For why did you waver?”
And they having gone into the boat, the wind stilled,
and those in the boat having come, worshiped Him, saying, “You are truly God’s Son.”
And having passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret,
35 ३५ तेथील लोकांनी येशूला ओळखून व सभोवतालच्या सर्व प्रदेशात निरोप पाठवला व त्यांनी सर्व प्रकारच्या आजाऱ्यांस त्याच्याकडे आणले.
and having recognized Him, the men of that place sent forth to all that surrounding region, and they brought to Him all who were ill,
36 ३६ आणि आम्हास आपल्या वस्त्राच्या काठाला स्पर्श करू द्यावा, अशी विनंती केली, तेव्हा जितक्यांनी स्पर्श केला तितके बरे झाले.
and were calling on Him that they might only touch the fringe of His garment, and as many as touched were saved.
