लूक 9
1 १ मग त्याने त्या बारा शिष्यांस एकत्र बोलावून त्यांना सर्व भूतांवर आणि रोग बरे करायला, सामर्थ्य व अधिकार दिला,
And He called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases:
and He sent them forth to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
3 ३ तो त्यांना म्हणाला, “वाटेसाठी काही घेऊ नका; काठी किंवा झोळी किंवा भाकर किंवा पैसा घेऊ नका आणि दोन दोन अंगरखेही घेवू नका.
And He said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; nor two coats a piece.
And into whatever house ye enter, continue there, till ye leave that place.
5 ५ जितके तुम्हास अंगीकारीत नाहीत तितक्यांच्याविरुद्ध साक्ष व्हावी म्हणून तुम्ही त्या नगरातून निघते वेळी आपल्या पायांची धूळ झाडून टाका.”
And whosoever will not receive you, when ye depart from that city, shake off the very dust from your feet, for a testimony against them.
And they went from town to town, preaching the gospel and healing every where.
7 ७ घडत असलेल्या सर्व गोष्टी ऐकून हेरोद राजा फार घोटाळ्यात पडला, कारण “योहान मरण पावलेल्यांमधून उठला आहे.” असे कित्येक म्हणत होते;
Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all the things that were done by Him; and was perplexed, because it was said by some that John was risen from the dead;
8 ८ आणि कित्येक म्हणत होते की “एलीया प्रकट झाला आहे” आणि दुसरे म्हणत होते की “पुरातन संदेष्ट्यातील कोणीएक उठला आहे.”
and by some that Elias had appeared; and by others, that one of the ancient prophets was risen again.
9 ९ तेव्हा हेरोद म्हणाला, “योहानाचे शीर मी तोडले, पण ज्याच्याविषयी अशा गोष्टी मी ऐकतो तो हा कोण आहे?” आणि तो त्यास भेटायला पाहत होता.
And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? and he wanted to see Him.
10 १० मग प्रेषितांनी परत येऊन आपण जे काही केले होते ते त्यास सविस्तर सांगितले. मग तो त्यांना बरोबर घेऊन बेथसैदा नावाच्या नगराकडे एकीकडे गेला.
And the apostles; when they were returned, told Him all that they had done: and He took them and retired privately into a desert place belonging to the city Bethsaida.
11 ११ परंतु याविषयी लोकांनी ऐकल्यावर ते त्याच्यामागे गेले. तेव्हा तो त्यांचे स्वागत करून त्यांच्याशी देवाच्या राज्याविषयी बोलू लागला आणि ज्यांना बरे होण्याची गरज होती त्यांना त्याने बरे केले.
But when the people knew it they followed Him; and He received them, and spake to them concerning the kingdom of God, and healed those that had need of a cure.
12 १२ दिवस संपत आला, तेव्हा बारा जण जवळ येऊन त्यास म्हणाले, “समुदायाला निरोप दे, म्हणजे ते आसपासच्या गावांत व खेड्यांत जाऊन उतरतील व खाण्याची सोय करतील; कारण आपण येथे रानातल्या ठिकाणी आहो.”
And when the day began to decline, the twelve came and said to Him, Dismiss the people, that they may go into the villages and country-places round about, and bait, and get food: for here we are in a desert place.
13 १३ पण तो त्यांना म्हणाला, “तुम्हीच त्यांना खायला द्या.” ते म्हणाले, “आम्ही जाऊन या लोकांसाठी अन्न विकत आणले नाही, तर पाच भाकरी व दोन मासे एवढ्याशिवाय आम्हाजवळ काही नाही.”
But He said unto them, Do ye give them food. And they said, We have but five loaves and two fishes: unless we should go and buy provisions for all this people:
14 १४ कारण ते सुमारे पाच हजार पुरूष होते. तेव्हा त्याने आपल्या शिष्यांना सांगितले, “पन्नास पन्नास जणांच्या पंक्ती करून त्यास बसवा,”
for they were about five thousand men. And He said to his disciples, Make them sit down in companies by fifty.
And they did so, and caused them all to sit down.
16 १६ त्याने त्या पांच भाकरी व ते दोन मासे घेतले आणि वर स्वर्गाकडे पाहून त्यास आशीर्वाद दिला आणि त्यांचे तुकडे करून ते लोकसमुदायाला वाढण्याकरता शिष्यांजवळ दिले.
And He took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven He blessed them; and brake and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude.
17 १७ तेव्हा ते सर्व जेवून तृप्त झाले; आणि त्यांनी मोडलेल्या तुकड्यांतले उरले ते बारा टोपल्या भरून त्यांनी उचलून घेतले.
And they did eat, and were all satisfied: and there was taken up what remained even of fragments twelve baskets.
18 १८ आणि असे झाले की तो एकांतात प्रार्थना करत असता शिष्य त्याच्याबरोबर होते, तेव्हा त्याने त्यांना विचारून म्हटले, “लोकसमुदाय मला कोण म्हणून म्हणतात?”
And it came to pass, as He was praying in private, his disciples were with Him: and He asked them saying, Whom say the people that I am?
19 १९ मग त्यांनी उत्तर देऊन म्हटले, “बाप्तिस्मा करणारा योहान, पण कित्येक म्हणतात ‘एलीया,’ व कित्येक म्हणतात की, पुरातन संदेष्ट्यातील कोणीएक पुन्हा उठला आहे.”
They answering said, John the baptist: but others say Elias: and others, that some ancient prophet is risen again.
20 २० त्याने त्यांना म्हटले, “पण तुम्ही मला कोण म्हणून म्हणता?” तेव्हा पेत्राने उत्तर देऊन म्हटले, “देवाचा ख्रिस्त.”
And He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answered and said, The Christ the Son of God.
But He strictly charged and commanded them to tell this to no one,
22 २२ आणि म्हटले, “मनुष्याच्या पुत्राने पुष्कळ दुःखे सोसावी आणि वडील व मुख्य याजक लोक व नियमशास्त्र शिक्षक यांच्याकडून नाकारले जावे व जीवे मारले जावे व तिसऱ्या दिवशी पुन्हा उठवले जावे, याचे अगत्य आहे.”
saying, the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, and chief priests, and scribes, and be put to death, and be raised again the third day.
23 २३ आणि तो सर्वांना म्हणाला, “जर कोणी माझ्यामागे येऊ इच्छितो तर त्याने स्वतःला नाकारावे व दररोज आपला वधस्तंभ उचलून घ्यावा व माझ्यामागे चालावे.
And He said unto them all, if any one is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me:
24 २४ कारण जो कोणी आपला जीव वाचवू इच्छितो तो त्यास गमावील, परंतु जो कोणी माझ्याकरिता आपला जीव गमावील तो त्यास वाचवील.
for he that would save his life shall lose it, but he that would lose his life for my sake shall save it.
25 २५ कारण मनुष्याने सगळे जग मिळवून स्वतःला गमावले किंवा स्वतःचा नाश करून घेतला तर त्यास काय लाभ होईल?
For what is a man profited, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be destroyed?
26 २६ जो कोणी माझ्याविषयीची व माझ्या वचनाविषयी लाज धरील त्यांच्याविषयीची लाज मनुष्याचा पुत्र जेव्हा आपल्या स्वतःच्या, पित्याच्या व पवित्र दूतांच्या गौरवाने येईल तेव्हा धरील.
For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when He comes in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.
27 २७ आणि मी तुम्हास खरे सांगतो की, येथे उभे राहणाऱ्यांतले काही असे आहेत की, ते देवाचे राज्य पाहतील तोपर्यंत त्यांना मरणाचा अनुभव येणारच नाही.”
And I assure you, there be some of those who stand here, that shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God.
28 २८ आणि या गोष्टी सांगितल्यानंतर सुमारे आठ दिवसानी असे झाले की, पेत्र व योहान व याकोब यांना बरोबर घेऊन तो प्रार्थना करायला डोंगरावर गेला.
About eight days after these discourses, He took Peter, and John, and James, and went up to a mountain to pray.
29 २९ तेव्हा तो प्रार्थना करीत असता त्याच्या मुखाचे रूप पालटले व त्याचे वस्त्र पांढरे शुभ्र लखलखीत झाले.
And as He was praying the form of his countenance was altered, and his raiment white and glistering:
and behold two men talked with Him, which were Moses and Elias;
31 ३१ ते तेजस्वी दिसत होते आणि जे त्याचे प्रयाण तो यरूशलेम शहरात पूर्ण करणार होता, त्याविषयी ते बोलत होते.
who appeared in glory, and spake of his exit, which He was to make at Jerusalem.
32 ३२ तेव्हा पेत्र व त्याच्याबरोबर जे होते ते झोपेने भारावले होते, परंतु ते पूर्णपणे जागे झाले तेव्हा त्यांचे तेज आणि जे दोन पुरूष त्याच्याजवळ उभे राहिले होते त्यांनाही पहिले.
Now Peter and they that were with Him were heavy with sleep; but being awakened they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with Him.
33 ३३ मग असे झाले की ते त्याच्यापासून दूर होत असता पेत्राने येशूला म्हटले, “हे गुरु, येथे असणे आम्हास बरे आहे; तर आम्ही तीन मंडप करू, तुझ्यासाठी एक व मोशेसाठी एक व एलीयासाठी एक.” आपण काय बोलत आहोत याचे त्यास भान नव्हते.
And as they were departing from Him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here, let us make three tabernacles, one for Thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.
34 ३४ तो या गोष्टी बोलत असता एक ढग येऊन त्यांच्यावर सावली करू लागला आणि ते ढगांत शिरले तेव्हा ते भ्याले.
And as he was saying this, there came a cloud and overshadowed them; and they were afraid, when they went up into the cloud and disappeared.
And there came a voice out of the cloud saying, This is my beloved Son, hear ye Him.
36 ३६ ही वाणी झाल्यावर येशू एकटाच दिसला आणि ते उगेच राहिले व ज्या गोष्टी त्यांनी पहिल्या होत्या त्यांतले काहीच त्यांनी त्या दिवसांमध्ये कोणाला सांगितले नाही.
And when the voice was uttered, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it to themselves, and told no one at that time any of the things which they had seen.
And the next day, when they came down from the mountain, a great multitude met Him:
38 ३८ तेव्हा पाहा, समुदायातील एक मनुष्य मोठ्याने ओरडून म्हणाला, हे गुरु, मी तुला विनंती करतो, माझ्या मुलाकडे पाहा, कारण तो माझे एकुलते मूल आहे.
and one of the people cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee look upon my son, for he is my only child;
39 ३९ आणि पाहा, कोणी आत्मा त्यास धरतो आणि हा एकाएकी ओरडतो, मग तो याला असा पिळतो की त्याच्या तोंडाला फेस येतो, तो याला पुष्कळ त्रास देतो व याला मोठ्या प्रयासाने सोडून जातो.
and lo, a spirit seizeth him, and all on a sudden he screameth, and it convulses him with foaming; and bruising him, with much ado departs from him.
And I prayed thy disciples to cast him out, and they could not.
41 ४१ तेव्हा येशूने उत्तर देऊन म्हटले, “हे अविश्वासी व विपरीत पिढी, मी कोठेपर्यंत तुमच्याबरोबर राहू व तुमचे सोसू? तू आपल्या मुलाला इकडे आण.”
Then Jesus answered and said, O unbelieving and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and bear with you? Bring thy son hither.
42 ४२ मग तो जवळ येत आहे इतक्यात भूताने त्यास खाली आपटले व भारी पिळून टाकले, पण येशूने त्या अशुद्ध आत्म्याला धमकावले व मुलाला बरे करून त्याच्या पित्याजवळ परत दिले.
And as he was coming along, the devil bruised and convulsed him: but Jesus rebuked the impure spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him to his father.
43 ४३ मग देवाचे हे महान सामर्थ्य पाहून सर्व लोक थक्क झाले आणि तो जी कामे करीत होता त्या सर्वांवरून सर्वजण आश्चर्य करीत असता तो आपल्या शिष्यांना म्हणाला,
And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God: but while they were all wondering at the things which Jesus did, He said to his disciples,
Receive these words into your ears; for the Son of man is going to be delivered into the hands of men.
45 ४५ परंतु हे बोलणे त्यांना समजले नाही व त्यांना ते समजू नये म्हणून ते त्यांच्यापासून गुप्त राखलेले होते; आणि ते या बोलण्याविषयी त्यास विचारायला भीत होते.
But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, so that they perceived it not, and they were afraid to ask Him concerning it.
Then a dispute rose among them, which of them should be greatest.
47 ४७ तेव्हा येशूने त्यांच्या अंतःकरणाचे विचार जाणून एका बालकाला जवळ घेऊन त्यास आपल्यापाशी उभे केले,
And Jesus knowing the thought of their heart, took a child and set him by Him, and said unto them,
48 ४८ आणि त्यांना म्हटले, “जो कोणी माझ्या नावाने या बालकाला स्वीकारतो तो मला स्वीकारतो आणि जो कोणी माझा स्वीकार करतो तो ज्याने मला पाठवले त्याचा स्वीकार करतो; कारण तुम्हा सर्वांमध्ये जो सर्वांहून लहान आहे तोच मोठा आहे.”
Whosoever shall receive this little child for my sake, receiveth me: and he that receiveth me, receiveth Him that sent me. For he that is lest among you all, shall be great.
49 ४९ तेव्हा योहानाने उत्तर देऊन म्हटले, “हे गुरु, आम्ही कोण एकाला तुझ्या नावाने भूते काढतांना पाहिले आणि आम्ही त्यास मना केले, कारण तो आमच्याबरोबर तुझ्यामागे चालत नाही.”
And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out demons in thy name, and we forbad him, because he followeth not thee with us.
50 ५० तेव्हा येशूने त्यास म्हटले, “मना करू नका, कारण जो तुम्हास प्रतिकूल नाही तो तुम्हास अनुकूल आहे.”
And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not; for he, that is not against us, is for us.
51 ५१ आणि असे झाले की त्यास वर घेतले जाण्याचा समय जवळ आला तेव्हा यरूशलेम शहरास जाण्याच्या दृढनिश्चयाने त्याने आपले तोंड वळवले.
And it came to pass, as the days were almost fulfilled of his being received up again into heaven, that He set his face to go to Jerusalem,
52 ५२ मग त्याने आपल्यापुढे निरोपे पाठवले, तेव्हा ते निघून त्याच्यासाठी तयारी करण्यास शोमरोन्यांच्या एका गावात गेले,
and sent messengers before Him: who went into a village of the Samaritans to get a place ready for Him.
But they would not entertain Him, because his face was towards Jerusalem.
54 ५४ तेव्हा त्याचे शिष्य याकोब व योहान हे पाहून म्हणाले, “हे प्रभू, एलीयाने केले होते तसेच आकाशांतून अग्नीने पडून त्याचा नाश करावा म्हणून आम्ही आज्ञा करावी, अशी तुझी इच्छा आहे काय?”
And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, as Elias did?
55 ५५ परंतु त्याने वळून त्यांना धमकावले आणि म्हटले, “तुम्ही कोणत्या आत्म्याचे आहात हे तुम्हास ठाऊक नाही;
But He turned and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what spirit ye are of:
56 ५६ कारण मनुष्याचा पुत्र मनुष्यांच्या जीवाचा नाश करायला नाही, तर त्यांना तारायला आला आहे.” मग ते दुसऱ्या गावाला गेले.
for the Son of man came not to destroy mens lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.
And as they were going by the way, there was one said to Him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest:
58 ५८ तेव्हा येशू त्यास म्हणाला, “खोकडांस बिळे व आकाशांतल्या पाखरांस घरटी आहेत, परंतु मनुष्याच्या पुत्राला आपले डोके टेकायला ठिकाण नाही.”
and Jesus answered him, The foxes have holes, and the fowls of heaven their nests, but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
59 ५९ मग त्याने दुसऱ्या एकाला म्हटले, “माझ्यामागे ये,” परंतु तो म्हणाला, “हे प्रभू, पहिल्याने मला जाऊ दे आणि माझ्या पित्याला पुरू दे,”
And He said to another, Follow me: but he said, Lord, permit me to go first and bury my father:
60 ६० तेव्हा येशूने त्यास म्हटले, “मरण पावलेल्यांना आपल्या मरण पावलेल्यांस पुरू दे, परंतु तू जाऊन देवाच्या राज्याची घोषणा कर.”
but Jesus said unto him, Leave the dead to bury their dead; but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
61 ६१ तेव्हा आणखी एकजण म्हणाला, हे प्रभू, मी तुझ्यामागे येईन, परंतु पहिल्याने मला माझ्या घरात जे आहे त्यांचा निरोप घेऊ दे.
And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee, but allow me first to go and take my leave of my family.
62 ६२ पण येशूने त्यास म्हटले, “जो कोणी नांगराला आपला हात घातल्यावर मागील गोष्टींकडे पाहत राहतो असा कोणीही देवाच्या राज्याला उपयोगी नाही.”
But Jesus said unto him, No one, that hath put his hand to the plough and looketh back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
