विलापगीत 4
1 १ सोने कसे निस्तेज झाले! शूद्ध सोने कसे बदलले आहे! पवित्रस्थानाचे दगड प्रत्येक रस्त्याच्या चौकात विखुरले आहेत.
ALEPH. How will the gold be tarnished, [and] the fine silver changed! the sacred stones have been poured forth at the top of all the streets.
2 २ सियोनेचे मोलवान पुत्र शुद्ध सोन्याच्या बरोबरीचे होते, पण आता ते कुंभाराच्या हाताने केलेल्या केवळ मडक्याप्रमाणे मानलेले आहेत.
BETH. The precious sons of Zion, who were equalled in value with gold, how are they counted as earthen vessels, the works of the hands of the potter!
3 ३ कोल्ही आपल्या पिलांना स्तनांजवळ घेऊन दुध पाजतात. पण माझ्या लोकांची कन्या वाळवंटात राहणाऱ्या शहामृगाप्रमाणे निर्दयी झाली आहे.
GIMEL. Nay, serpents have drawn out the breasts, they give suck to their young, the daughters of my people are incurably cruel, as an ostrich in a desert.
4 ४ तान्ह्या मुलांची जीभ तहानेने टाळूला चिकटली आहे. बालके भाकर मागतात, पण त्यांना कोणीही भाकर देत नाही.
DALETH. The tongue of the sucking child cleaves to the roof of its mouth for thirst: the little children ask for bread, [and] there is none to break [it] to them.
5 ५ जे पूर्वी स्वादिष्ट अन्न खात असत, ते आता रस्त्यावर उपाशी पडले आहेत. जे किरमिजी वस्र घालत असत, त्यांनी आता उकिरड्यांचा आश्रय घेतला आहे.
HE. They that feed on dainties are desolate in the streets: they that used to be nursed in scarlet have clothed themselves with dung.
6 ६ सदोमावर कोणी हात टाकला नाही तरी त्याचा अकस्मात नाश झाला, त्याच्या पापांपेक्षा माझ्या लोकांच्या कन्येचे दुष्कर्म मोठे आहे. सदोमाचा व गमोराचा अचानक नाश झाला, आणि त्यामध्ये कोणत्याही मनुष्याचा हात नव्हता.
VAU. And the iniquity of the daughter of my people has been increased beyond the iniquities of Sodoma, [the city] that was overthrown very suddenly, and none laboured against her [with their] hands.
7 ७ तिचे सरदार बर्फासारखे चकाकत असत व दुधापेक्षा पांढरे होते. ते पोवळयांसारखे कांतीने लाल होते. त्यांचे तेज जणू काही नीलमण्यासारखे होते.
ZAIN. Her Nazarites were made purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were purified [as] with fire, their polishing was superior to sapphire stone.
8 ८ पण आता त्यांचे चेहरे काजळीपेक्षा काळे झाले आहेत. त्यांना रस्त्यात कोणी ओळखतसुध्दा नाही. त्यांची कातडी सुरकुतली आणि हाडाला चिकटली आहे. ती लाकडाप्रमाणे शुष्क झाली आहे.
HETH. Their countenance is become blacker than smoke; they are not known in the streets: their skin has cleaved to their bones; they are withered, they are become as a stick.
9 ९ जे उपासमारीने मरण पावले त्यांच्यापेक्षा जे तलवारीने मरण पावले त्यांचे बरे झाले आहे. कारण उपासमार झालेले फारच दु: खी होते. ते व्याकुळ झाले होते. शेतामधून काहीच न मिळाल्यामुळे ते मरण पावले.
TETH. The slain with the sword were better than they that were slain with hunger: they have departed, pierced through from [lack of] the fruits of the field.
10 १० दयाळू स्त्रीयांच्या हातांनी आपली मुले शिजविली, ती माझ्या लोकांच्या कन्येच्या विनाशसमयी ती त्यांचे अन्न झाली.
JOD. The hands of tender-hearted women have sodden their own children: they became meat for them in the destruction of the daughter of my people.
11 ११ परमेश्वराने आपला क्रोध प्रकट केला. त्यांने आपला संतप्त राग ओतला आहे. त्याने सियोनेत आग लावली आहे व त्या आगित तिचे आधारस्तंभे जाळून टाकले आहेत.
CHAPH. The Lord has accomplished his wrath; he has poured out fierce anger, and has kindled a fire in Sion, and it has devoured her foundations.
12 १२ पृथ्वीवरील राजांचा व पृथ्वीवरील राहणाऱ्यांचा ह्यावर विश्वास बसला नाही की, यरूशलेमेच्या प्रवेशद्वारांतून शत्रू किंवा वैरी वेशींत शिरतील.
LAMED. The kings of the earth, [even] all that dwell in the world, believed not that an enemy and oppressor would enter through the gates of Jerusalem.
13 १३ असे घडले कारण, तिच्या संदेष्ट्यांनी पाप केले, तिच्या धर्मगुरुंनी दुष्कृत्ये केली, त्यांनी नीतिमान लोकांचे रक्त यरूशलेमामध्ये सांडले होते.
MEM. For the sins of her prophets, [and] iniquities of her priests, who shed righteous blood in the midst of her,
14 १४ ते आंधळयांप्रमाणे रस्त्यात भटकत होते. कोणीही त्यांच्या वस्त्रालाही शिवू शकले नाहीत, कारण ती रक्ताने माखली होती.
NUN. her watchmen staggered in the streets, they were defiled with blood in their weakness, they touched their raiment [with it].
15 १५ दूर व्हा, “दूर व्हा! अमंगळ लोकहो.” आम्हास स्पर्श नका करू, असे लोक त्यांना म्हणाले, ते पळून जाऊन भटकत राहीले, तेव्हा राष्ट्रांमधील लोक म्हणाले, “त्यांनी आमच्याबरोबर राहू नये.”
SAMECH. Depart you from the unclean ones: call you them: depart, depart, touch [them] not: for they are on fire, yes, they stagger: say you amongst the nations, They shall no more sojourn [there].
16 १६ परमेश्वराने आपल्या समोरून त्यांना विखरले आहे, तो पुन्हा त्याच्याकडे पाहणार नाही, याजकांची मर्यादा त्यांनी राखली नाही. त्यांनी वडिलांचा मान राखला नाही.
AIN. The presence of the Lord [was] their portion; [but] he will not again look upon them: they regarded not the person of the priests, they pitied not the prophets.
17 १७ मदतीची निरर्थक वाट पाहून आमचे डोळे थकले आहेत. आम्ही आतूरतेने वाट पाहत असता जे राष्ट्र आमचा बचाव करू शकले नाही त्याची वाट आम्ही पाहिली आहे.
PHE. While we yet lived our eyes failed, while we looked in vain for our help. TSADE. We looked to a nation that could not save.
18 १८ आमच्या शत्रूंनी आमची शिकार केली आणि आम्ही रस्त्यांवरसुध्दा जाऊ शकलो नाही. आमचा शेवट जवळ आला! आमचे आयुष्य सरले होते! आमचा अंत आला आहे!
We have hunted [for] our little ones, that they should not walk in our streets. KOPH. Our time has drawn near, our days are fulfilled, our time is come.
19 १९ आमचा पाठलाग करणारे गरुडापेक्षाही वेगवान होते. त्यांनी आमचा डोंगरांत पाठलाग केला. आम्हास पकडण्यासाठी ते रानात दडून बसले.
Our pursuers were swifter than the eagles of the sky, they flew on the mountains, in the wilderness they laid wait for us.
20 २० आमच्या दृष्टीने जो राजा सर्वश्रेष्ठ होता जो परमेश्वराचा अभिषिक्त, आमच्या नाकपूड्यातील श्वास. त्यांच्या खाचेत पकडला गेला. ज्याच्या बद्दल आम्ही असे म्हणालो की, “आम्ही त्याच्या सावलीत राहू. तो इतर राष्ट्रापासून आमचे रक्षण करतो.”
RECHS. The breath of our nostrils, [our] anointed Lord, was taken in their destructive snares, of whom we said, In his shadow we shall live amongst the Gentiles.
21 २१ ऊस देशात राहणाऱ्या अदोमाच्या कन्ये आनंदित हो आणि हर्ष कर. पण लक्षात ठेव की प्याला तुमच्याकडेसुध्दा येईल, तेव्हा तू मस्त होऊन आपणास विवस्त्र करशील.
CHSEN. Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Idumea, that dwell in the land: yet the cup of the Lord shall pass through to you: you shall be drunken, and pour forth.
22 २२ सियोन कन्ये, तुझी शिक्षा संपली. आता पुन्हा तुला कैद करून नेले जाणार नाही. अदोमाच्या कन्ये, तुमची पापे उघडी करून परमेश्वर तुम्हास शिक्षा करील.
THAU. O daughter of Sion, your iniquity has come to an end; he shall no more carry you captive: he has visited your iniquities, O daughter of Edom; he has discovered your sins.
