शास्ते 6
1 १ नंतर इस्राएलाच्या लोकांनी परमेश्वराच्या दृष्टीने जे वाईट ते केले, त्याने त्यांना मिद्यानाच्या नियंत्रणाखाली सात वर्षे ठेवले.
Afterwarde the children of Israel committed wickednesse in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord gaue them into the handes of Midian seuen yeres.
2 २ तेव्हा मिद्यानाने इस्राएलावर अधिकाराने जुलूम केला; मिद्यान्यांमुळे इस्राएलाच्या लोकांनी आपल्यासाठी डोंगरातील भुयारे, गुहा व किल्ले यांचा आश्रय घेतला.
And the hand of Midian preuayled against Israel, and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them dennes in the mountaines, and caues, and strong holdes.
3 ३ आणि असे झाले की, जर इस्राएली पिकांची लागवड करीत, तर मिद्यानी व अमालेकी आणि पूर्वेकडले लोक त्यावर हल्ला करीत.
When Israel had sowen, then came vp the Midianites, the Amalekites, and they of the East, and came vpon them,
4 ४ त्यांनी त्याच्याविरुध्द सैन्याचा तळ देऊन गज्जापर्यंत भूमीच्या पिकांचा नाश केला आणि इस्राएलात काही अन्न आणि मेंढरे, गाय, बैल किंवा गाढव असे काही एक शिल्लक ठेवले नाही.
And camped by them, and destroyed the fruite of the earth, euen til thou come vnto Azzah, and left no foode for Israel, neither sheepe, nor oxe, nor asse.
5 ५ जेव्हा ते आपली जनावरे व तंबू घेऊन आले ते टोळांच्या थव्यासारखे आत आले आणि त्यांची व त्यांच्या उंटाची संख्या मोजणे अशक्य होते; असे ते देशावर आक्रमण करून नाश करावयास आले होते.
For they went vp, and their cattel, and came with their tentes as grashoppers in multitude: so that they and their camels were without number: and they came into the land to destroy it.
6 ६ तेव्हा मिद्यानामुळे इस्राएलाची कठीण दुर्बल अवस्था झाली आणि इस्राएल लोकांनी परमेश्वराकडे मोठ्याने रडून हाक मारली.
So was Israel exceedingly impouerished by the Midianites: therefore the children of Israel cryed vnto the Lord.
7 ७ जेव्हा इस्राएलाच्या संतानानी मिद्यान्यांमुळे परमेश्वराकडे मोठ्याने रडून हाक मारली तेव्हा असे झाले की,
And when the children of Israel cryed vnto the Lord because of the Midianites,
8 ८ परमेश्वराने कोणी भविष्यवादी इस्राएलाच्या लोकांजवळ पाठवला; तेव्हा तो त्यांना बोलला, इस्राएलाचा देव परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, मी तुम्हाला मिसरातून काढून वर आणले, दास्याच्या घरातून बाहेर काढून आणले;
The Lord sent vnto the children of Israel a Prophet, who sayd vuto them, Thus sayth the Lord God of Israel, I haue brought you vp from Egypt, and haue brought you out of the house of bondage,
9 ९ असे मी तुम्हाला मिसऱ्यांच्या हातातून व तुमच्या सर्व जाचणाऱ्यांच्या हातातून सोडवले; आणि त्यांना तुमच्यापुढून घालवून त्यांचा देश तुम्हाला दिला.
And I haue deliuered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all that oppressed you, and haue cast them out before you, and giuen you their land.
10 १० तेव्हा मी तुम्हाला असे सांगितले की, “मी तुमचा देव परमेश्वर आहे; ज्या अमोऱ्यांच्या देशात तुम्ही राहत आहा, त्यांच्या देवांना भिऊ नका, तरी तुम्ही माझी आज्ञा पाळली नाही.”
And I sayde vnto you, I am the Lord your God: feare not the gods of the Amorites in whose lande you dwell: but ye haue not obeyed my voyce.
11 ११ आणखी परमेश्वराचा दूत येऊन अबियेजेरी योवाश याच्या अफ्रा येथील एला झाडाखाली बसला; तेव्हा त्याचा पुत्र गिदोन मिद्यांन्यापासून गहू लपवावा म्हणून द्राक्षकुंडात गव्हाची मळणी करत होता.
And the Angell of the Lord came, and sate vnder the oke which was in Ophrah, that perteined vnto Ioash the father of the Ezrites, and his sonne Gideon threshed wheate by the winepresse, to hide it from the Midianites.
Then the Angel of the Lord appeared vnto him, and said vnto him, The Lord is with thee, thou valiant man.
13 १३ तेव्हा गिदोन त्यास बोलला, “हे माझ्या प्रभू, जर परमेश्वर आमच्याबरोबर आहे तर हे सर्व आमच्या बाबतीत का घडले? परमेश्वराने आम्हांला मिसरातून बाहेर आणले आणि त्याच्या अद्भुत कृत्यांबद्दल आमचे पूर्वज आम्हाजवळ सांगत आले, परमेश्वराने आम्हांला मिसरातून वर आणले की नाही? आता तर परमेश्वराने आमचा त्याग करून आम्हांला मिद्यान्यांच्या हाती दिले आहे.”
To whome Gideon answered, Ah my Lord, if the Lord be with vs, why then is all this come vpon vs? and where be all his miracles which our fathers tolde vs of, and sayd, Did not the Lord bring vs out of Egypt? but now the Lord hath forsaken vs, and deliuered vs into the hand of the Midianites.
14 १४ मग परमेश्वराने त्याच्याकडे बघितले आणि म्हटले, “तू आपल्या या बळाने जा, आणि इस्राएलांना मिद्यान्यांच्या ताब्यातून सोडव; मी तुला पाठवले आहे की नाही?”
And the Lord looked vpon him, and sayd, Goe in this thy might, and thou shalt saue Israel out of the handes of the Midianites: haue not I sent thee?
15 १५ गिदोन त्यास बोलला, “हे माझ्या प्रभू, मी इस्राएलला कसा सोडवणार? पाहा, मनश्शेत माझे घराणे कमजोर आहे, आणि मी आपल्या पित्याच्या घरात कमी महत्त्वाचा आहे.”
And he answered him, Ah my Lord, whereby shall I saue Israel? beholde, my father is poore in Manasseh, and I am the least in my fathers house.
16 १६ परमेश्वर त्यास बोलला, “खरोखर मी तुझ्याबरोबर राहीन, जसे एका मनुष्यास मारावे तसे तू एकजात सर्व मिद्यान्यांना ठार करशील.”
Then the Lord sayd vnto him, I wil therefore be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites, as one man.
17 १७ गिदोन त्यास बोलला, “तुझी कृपादृष्टी माझ्यावर असली तर तूच माझ्याशी बोलत आहेस याविषयी मला काही चिन्ह दाखव.
And he answered him, I pray thee, if I haue founde fauour in thy sight, then shewe me a signe, that thou talkest with me.
18 १८ मी तुला विनंती करतो, मी तुझ्याकडे येईपर्यंत तू येथून जाऊ नको; म्हणजे मी आपली भेट आणून तुझ्यापुढे ठेवीन.” तेव्हा तो बोलला, “तू परत येईपर्यंत मी येथेच थांबतो.”
Depart not hence, I pray thee, vntil I come vnto thee, and bring mine offring, and lay it before thee. And he sayde, I will tary vntill thou come againe.
19 १९ गिदोनाने जाऊन एक करडू व एफाभर सपिठाच्या बेखमीर भाकरी तयार केल्या; त्याने मांस टोपलीत घातला आणि रस्सा पातेल्यात घातला, मग त्याच्याजवळ एला झाडाखाली नेऊन ते सादर केले.
Then Gideon went in, and made ready a kidde, and vnleauened bread of an Ephah of floure, and put the flesh in a basket, and put the broth in a pot, and brought it out vnto him vnder the oke, and presented it.
20 २० तेव्हा देवाच्या दूताने त्यास सांगितले, “तू मांस व बेखमीर भाकरी या खडकावर आणून ठेव, आणि त्यावर रस्सा ओत.” मग गिदोनाने तसे केले.
And the Angell of God saide vnto him, Take the flesh and the vnleauened bread, and lay them vpon this stone, and powre out the broth: and he did so.
21 २१ तेव्हा परमेश्वराच्या दूताने आपल्या हातातल्या काठीच्या टोकाने मांसास व बेखमीर भाकरीला स्पर्श केला; मग खडकातून अग्नी निघाला आणि त्याने ते मांस व बेखमीर भाकरी भस्म केल्या; परमेश्वराचा दूतही निघून गेला आणि यापुढे गिदोन त्यास पाहू शकला नाही.
Then the Angell of the Lord put forth the ende of the staffe that he had in his hand, and touched the flesh and the vnleauened bread: and there arose vp fire out of the stone, and consumed the flesh and the vnleauened bread: so the Angel of the Lord departed out of his sight.
22 २२ तेव्हा गिदोनाला समजले की तो परमेश्वराचा दूत होता; गिदोन म्हणाला, हाय हाय, “हे प्रभू देवा! कारण मी परमेश्वराचा दूत समोरासमोर, पाहिला आहे!”
And when Gideon perceiued that it was an Angel of the Lord, Gideon then sayde, Alas, my Lord God: for because I haue seene an Angell of the Lord face to face, I shall die.
And the Lord said vnto him, Peace be vnto thee: feare not, thou shalt not die.
24 २४ तेव्हा गिदोनाने तेथे परमेश्वरासाठी वेदी बांधली, त्याचे नाव परमेश्वर शांती आहे, असे ठेवले; ती आजपर्यंत अबियेजेऱ्यांच्या अफ्रा येथे अजून आहे.
Then Gideon made an altar there vnto the Lord, and called it, Iehouah shalom: vnto this day it is in Ophrah, of the father of the Ezrites.
25 २५ आणि असे झाले की, त्याच रात्री परमेश्वराने त्यास सांगितले की, “तू आपल्या पित्याचा गोऱ्हा घे आणि सात वर्षांचा दुसरा गोऱ्हा घे आणि आपल्या बापाची बआल देवासाठीची वेदी ती मोडून टाक आणि तिच्याजवळची अशेरा कापून टाक.
And the same night the Lord sayd vnto him, Take thy fathers yong bullocke, and an other bullocke of seuen yeeres olde, and destroy the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut downe the groue that is by it,
26 २६ मग या खडकाच्या उच्चस्थानी आपला देव परमेश्वर याच्यासाठी वेदी बांध आणि योग्य मार्गाने बांधणी कर. त्या दुसऱ्या गोऱ्ह्याचे होमार्पण, अशेराच्या तोडलेल्या लाकडाचा उपयोग करून कर.”
And build an altar vnto the Lord thy God vpon the top of this rocke, in a plaine place: and take the seconde bullocke, and offer a burnt offringe with the woode of the groue, which thou shalt cut downe.
27 २७ तेव्हा गिदोनाने आपल्या चाकरातील दहा माणसे बरोबर घेऊन जसे परमेश्वराने त्यास सांगितले होते तसे केले; परंतु असे झाले की, दिवस असता ते करायला तो आपल्या वडिलाच्या घराण्याला व त्या नगराच्या मनुष्यांना घाबरला, यास्तव रात्री त्याने केले.
Then Gideon tooke tenne men of his seruants, and did as ye Lord bade him: but because he feared to doe it by day for his fathers housholde, and the men of the citie, he did it by night.
28 २८ मग सकाळी त्या नगराची माणसे उठली तर पाहा, बआलाची वेदी मोडलेली होती तिच्याजवळची अशेराही तोडलेली होते आणि बांधलेल्या वेदीवर दुसऱ्या गोऱ्ह्याचा होम केलेला होता.
And when the men of the citie arose early in the morning, beholde, the altar of Baal was broken, and the groue cut downe that was by it, and the seconde bullocke offred vpon the altar that was made.
29 २९ तेव्हा ते एकमेकांना म्हणाले, “ही गोष्ट कोणी केली? मग त्यांनी विचारपूस व शोध केल्यावर म्हटले, योवाशाचा पुत्र गिदोन, याने ही गोष्ट केली आहे.”
Therefore they saide one to another, Who hath done this thing? and when they inquired and asked, they saide, Gideon the sonne of Ioash hath done this thing.
30 ३० नंतर त्या नगराच्या मनुष्यांनी योवाशाला सांगितले, “तू आपल्या पुत्राला बाहेर आण, त्यास तर मारावयाचे आहे, कारण त्याने बआलाची वेदी मोडून टाकली आणखी तिच्याजवळची अशेराची मूर्ती तोडून टाकली आहे.”
Then the men of the citie said vnto Ioash, Bring out thy sonne, that hee may dye: for he hath destroyed the altar of Baal, and hath also cut downe the groue that was by it.
31 ३१ तेव्हा योवाश आपणावर जे उठले होते त्या सर्वांना म्हणाला, “बआलाचा कैवार तुम्ही घेता काय? तुम्ही त्याचा बचाव करू पाहता काय? जो त्याचा कैवार घेईल तो आज सकाळ आहे तोच मारला जावो; जर तो देव असला तर, ज्याने त्याची वेदी मोडली त्याच्याविरुध्द त्याने स्वत: चा कैवार घ्यावा.”
And Ioash said vnto all that stood by him, Will ye pleade Baals cause? or will ye saue him? he that will contend for him, let him dye or the morning. If he be God, let him pleade for himselfe against him that hath cast downe his altar.
32 ३२ तेव्हा त्याच दिवशी त्याने त्यास “यरूब्बाल” म्हटले, तो म्हणाला, “गिदोनाने बआलाची वेदी पाडून टाकली म्हणून बआलानेच त्याच्याविरुध्द स्वतःचा बचाव करावा,” कारण त्याची वेदी गिदोनाने मोडून वेगळी केली.
And in that day was Gideon called Ierubbaal, that is, Let Baal pleade for himselfe because he hath broken downe his altar.
33 ३३ नंतर सर्व मिद्यानी व अमालेकी व पूर्वेकडले लोक एकत्र जमले, आणि त्यांनी यार्देन नदी ओलांडून येऊन आणि इज्रेलाच्या खोऱ्यात तळ दिला.
Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and they of ye East, were gathered together, aud went and pitched in the valley of Izreel.
34 ३४ परंतु परमेश्वराचा आत्मा गिदोनावर त्यास मदत करण्यासाठी आला; गिदोनाने कर्णा फुंकला, तेव्हा अबीयेजेराचे वंशज त्याच्याजवळ अशाप्रकारे त्याच्यामागे जाण्यासाठी एकत्र आले.
But the Spirit of the Lord came vpon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet, and Abiezer was ioyned with him.
35 ३५ मग त्याने सगळ्या मनश्शेत जासूद पाठवले तेव्हा तेही त्याच्याजवळ एकत्र झाले; नंतर आशेर व जबुलून व नफतालीत त्याने जासूद पाठवले, तेव्हा ते त्यांच्याशी मिळायला चढून गेले.
And he sent messengers thorowout al Manasseh, which also was ioyned with him, and he sent messengers vnto Asher, and to Zebulun and to Naphtali, and they came vp to meete them.
Then Gideon said vnto God, If thou wilt saue Israel by mine hand, as thou hast sayd,
37 ३७ तर पाहा, मी खळ्यात कातरलेली लोकर ठेवतो; जर लोकरीवर मात्र दहिवर पडेल आणि सर्व भूमी कोरडी राहील, तर मला कळेल की जसे मला सांगितले, तसा तू माझ्या हाताने इस्राएलाला तारशील.”
Beholde, I wil put a fleece of wooll in the threshing place: if the dewe come on the fleece onely, and it be drie vpon all the earth, then shall I be sure, that thou wilt saue Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.
38 ३८ नंतर तसे झाले; म्हणजे सकाळी जेव्हा तो उठला, तेव्हा त्याने ती लोकर दाबून तिच्यातून पिळून वाटीभर पाणी काढले.
And so it was: for he rose vp earely on the morow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, and filled a bowle of water.
39 ३९ मग गिदोन देवाला बोलला, “तू माझ्यावर रागावू नको, मी आणखी एक वेळेस बोलतो; आता केवळ या वेळेस या लोकरीच्या व्दारे एक वेळ मी परीक्षा पाहतो: ही लोकर तेवढी कोरडी राहून बाकी अवघ्या जमिनीवर दहिवर पडेल असे कर.”
Againe, Gideon sayde vnto God, Be not angry with me, that I may speake once more: let me prooue once againe, I pray thee, with the fleece: let it now be drie onely vpon the fleece, and let dewe be vpon all the ground.
40 ४० तेव्हा त्या रात्री देवाने तसे केले म्हणजे ती लोकर मात्र कोरडी राहिली आणि संपूर्ण भूमीवर दहिवर पडले.
And God did so that same night: for it was drie vpon the fleece onely, and there was dewe on all the ground.
