यहोशवा 17
1 १ मनश्शेच्या वंशजाला हे वतन नेमून दिलेले होते. कारण मनश्शे योसेफाचा प्रथम पुत्र, याच्या वंशाचा भाग चिठ्ठ्या टाकून ठरवला तो हा, म्हणजे मनश्शेचा प्रथम पुत्र माखीर, गिलादाचा बाप हा तर मोठा शूर होता, आणि त्यास गिलाद व बाशान हा भाग मिळाला होता.
This was the lot for the tribe of Manasseh, for he was the firstborn of Joseph. As for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead, because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.
2 २ मनश्शेच्या राहिलेल्या वंशजांनाही त्यांच्या कुळांप्रमाणे विभाग मिळाले ते असे, अबीयेजेर व हेलेक व अस्रियेल व शेखेम व हेफेर व शमीदा हे आपआपल्या कुळांप्रमाणे योसेफ पुत्र जो मनश्शे त्याच्या वंशातले पुरुष होते, त्यांच्या निरनिराळ्या कुळांसाठी हे विभाग ठरले;
So this was for the rest of the children of Manasseh according to their families: for the children of Abiezer, for the children of Helek, for the children of Asriel, for the children of Shechem, for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida. These were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph according to their families.
3 ३ मनश्शेचा पुत्र माखीर, याचा पुत्र गिलाद, याचा पुत्र हेफेर, याचा पुत्र सलाफहाद, याला मुलगा नव्हता, परंतु मुली होत्या; आणि त्याच्या मुलींची नावे ही आहेत: महला व नोआ, होग्ला, मिल्का व तिरसा.
But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters. These are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
4 ४ आणि एलाजार याजक व नूनाचा पुत्र यहोशवा व अधिकारी यांच्यापुढे त्या येऊन त्या म्हणाल्या, “परमेश्वराने मोशेला अशी आज्ञा दिली की आम्हांला आमच्या भाऊबंदांमध्ये वतन द्यावे.” यास्तव त्याने परमेश्वराच्या सांगण्याप्रमाणे त्यांना त्यांच्या वडिलाच्या भाऊबंदांमध्ये वतन दिले.
They came to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the princes, saying, “Yahweh commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brothers.” Therefore according to the commandment of Yahweh he gave them an inheritance among the brothers of their father.
Ten parts fell to Manasseh, in addition to the land of Gilead and Bashan, which is beyond the Jordan;
6 ६ कारण की मनश्शेच्या मुलींना त्याच्या मुलांमध्ये वतन मिळाले, आणि मनश्शेच्या इतर वंशजांना गिलाद प्रांत मिळाला.
because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons. The land of Gilead belonged to the rest of the sons of Manasseh.
7 ७ आणि मनश्शेची सीमा आशेरापासून शखेमाच्या समोरल्या मिखमथाथा नगरापर्यंत झाली, आणि ती सीमा एन-तप्पूहाच्या लोकवस्तीच्या उजव्या भागापर्यंत पोहचते.
The border of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethath, which is before Shechem. The border went along to the right hand, to the inhabitants of En Tappuah.
The land of Tappuah belonged to Manasseh; but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim.
9 ९ आणि सीमा काना ओढ्यावरून, ओढ्याच्या दक्षिणेस गेली; ही नगरे एफ्राइमाची होती, ती मनश्शेच्या नगरांमध्ये होती; आणि मनश्शेची सीमा ओढ्याच्या उत्तरेस होती, आणि तिचा शेवट भूमध्य समुद्राजवळ होता.
The border went down to the brook of Kanah, southward of the brook. These cities belonged to Ephraim among the cities of Manasseh. The border of Manasseh was on the north side of the brook, and ended at the sea.
10 १० दक्षिणभाग एफ्राइमाचा, आणि उत्तरभाग मनश्शेचा, आणि समुद्र त्याची सीमा होता, आणि उत्तरेस आशेरात व पूर्वेस इस्साखारात ते एकत्र झाले.
Southward it was Ephraim’s, and northward it was Manasseh’s, and the sea was his border. They reached to Asher on the north, and to Issachar on the east.
11 ११ आणि इस्साखारात व आशेरात बेथ-शान व त्याची खेडी, आणि इब्लाम व त्याची खेडी, आणि दोर व त्याची खेडी यामध्ये राहणारे, आणि एन-दोर व त्यांची खेडी यामध्ये राहणारे, आणि तानख व त्यांची खेडी यांत राहणारे, आणि मगिद्दो व त्यांची खेडी यांत राहणारे, हे तीन परगणे मनश्शेचे झाले.
Manasseh had three heights in Issachar, in Asher Beth Shean and its towns, and Ibleam and its towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and its towns, and the inhabitants of Endor and its towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and its towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and its towns.
12 १२ पण या नगरातील रहिवाश्यांना मनश्शेचे वंशज बाहेर घालवायला समर्थ नव्हते; या देशातच राहण्याचा कनान्यांनी तर हट्ट धरला.
Yet the children of Manasseh couldn’t drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.
13 १३ तरी असे झाले की जेव्हा इस्राएल लोक बळकट झाले, तेव्हा त्यांनी कनान्यांना नेमलेले काम करायला लावले आणि त्यांना अगदीच घालवून दिले नाही.
When the children of Israel had grown strong, they put the Canaanites to forced labor, and didn’t utterly drive them out.
14 १४ तेव्हा योसेफाचे वंशज यहोशवाला म्हणाले की, “परमेश्वराने मला येथपर्यंत आशीर्वाद दिला आहे आम्ही संख्येने बहुत झालो आहो तर तू चिठ्ठी टाकून आम्हांला वतनाचा एकच विभाग का दिला आहेस?”
The children of Joseph spoke to Joshua, saying, “Why have you given me just one lot and one part for an inheritance, since we are a numerous people, because Yahweh has blessed us so far?”
15 १५ तेव्हा यहोशवाने त्यांना म्हटले, “जर तुम्ही संख्येने बहुत आहात व लोक आणखी एफ्राइम डोंगराळ प्रदेश तुम्हाला पुरत नाहीतर परिज्जी व रेफाई यांच्या देशांतले रान तोडून तेथे वस्ती करा.”
Joshua said to them, “If you are a numerous people, go up to the forest, and clear land for yourself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the Rephaim, since the hill country of Ephraim is too narrow for you.”
16 १६ नंतर योसेफाच्या वंशजांनी म्हटले, “डोंगराळ प्रदेश आम्हांला पुरत नाही; आणि जे कनानी तळप्रांतात राहतात, त्या सर्वांना लोखंडी रथ आहेत; म्हणजे बेथ-शान व तिजकडली खेडी यांतले, आणि इज्रेल खोरे जे, त्यामध्ये आहेत.”
The children of Joseph said, “The hill country is not enough for us. All the Canaanites who dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both those who are in Beth Shean and its towns, and those who are in the valley of Jezreel.”
17 १७ तेव्हा यहोशवाने योसेफाच्या घराण्यास, म्हणजे एफ्राइम व मनश्शे यांना असे म्हटले की, “तुम्ही संख्येने फार आहात, व तुमचे सामर्थ्यही मोठे आहे; तुम्हाला एकच वाटा नसावा;
Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph, that is, to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, “You are a numerous people, and have great power. You shall not have one lot only;
18 १८ तेव्हा डोंगराळ प्रदेशही तुझा होईल; तो अरण्य आहे तरी तू ते तोडशील; बाहेरील भागही तुझे होतील, कारण कनान्यांना जरी लोखंडी रथ आहेत आणि ते बळकट आहेत तरी तू त्यांना घालवशील.”
but the hill country shall be yours. Although it is a forest, you shall cut it down, and it’s farthest extent shall be yours; for you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have chariots of iron, and though they are strong.”
