The word of the LORD that came to Joel the son of Pethuel.
2 २ अहो वडिलांनो, हे ऐका, आणि देशात राहणाऱ्या तुम्ही सर्वांनी कान द्या. तुमच्या पूर्वजांच्या दिवसात किंवा तुमच्या दिवसात पूर्वी कधी असे हे घडले काय?
Hear this, you old men, and give ear, all you inhabitants of the land. Has this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?
3 ३ ह्याविषयी आपल्या मुलाबाळांना सांगा, आणि तुमच्या मुलांनी आपल्या मुलाबाळांना सांगावे, व त्यांच्या मुलांनी आपल्या पुढच्या पिढीस सांगावे.
Tell you your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.
4 ४ कुरतडणाऱ्या टोळापासून जे राहिले ते झुंडीने येणाऱ्या टोळांनी खाल्ले; झुंडीने येणाऱ्या टोळापासून जे राहिले ते चाटून खाणाऱ्या टोळांनी खाल्ले; आणि चाटून खाणाऱ्या टोळापासून, जे राहिले ते अधाशी टोळांनी खाल्ले.
That which the palmerworm has left has the locust eaten; and that which the locust has left has the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm has left has the caterpillar eaten.
5 ५ दारू पिणाऱ्यांनो, तुम्ही जागे व्हा व रडा! तुम्ही सर्व दारू पिणाऱ्यांनो, आक्रोश करा, कारण गोड दारू तुमच्यापासून काढून घेतली आहे.
Awake, you drunkards, and weep; and howl, all you drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.
6 ६ कारण एक राष्ट्र माझ्या देशावर आले आहे, ते बळकट व अगणित आहेत. त्यांचे दात सिंहाचे आहेत, आणि त्यांना सिंहिणीचे दात आहेत.
For a nation is come up on my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he has the cheek teeth of a great lion.
7 ७ त्यांनी माझा द्राक्षमळा घाबरून सोडवण्याची जागा केली आहे आणि माझ्या अंजिराचे झाड सोलून उघडे केले आहे. त्यांने साल सोलून दूर फेकली आहे. फांद्या उघड्या करून पांढऱ्या केल्या आहेत.
He has laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he has made it clean bore, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white.
Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.
9 ९ परमेश्वराच्या मंदिरातून अन्नार्पणे व पेयार्पणे नाहीसे झाले आहेत. परमेश्वराची सेवा करणारे याजक शोक करत आहेत.
The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD’s ministers, mourn.
10 १० शेतांचा नाश झाला आहे. आणि भूमी रडते. कारण धान्याचा नाश झाला आहे, नवा द्राक्षरस सुकून गेला आहे आणि तेल नासले आहे.
The field is wasted, the land mourns; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languishes.
11 ११ तुम्ही शेतकऱ्यांनो, गहू व जवाबद्दल लज्जित व्हा, आणि द्राक्षमळेवाल्यांनो, गहू व जवसासाठी आक्रोश करा, कारण शेतातील पीक नष्ट झाले आहे.
Be you ashamed, O you farmers; howl, O you vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished.
12 १२ द्राक्षवेली शुष्क झाल्या आहेत, आणि अंजिराचे झाड सुकून गेले आहे, डाळिंबाचे झाड, खजुराचे झाड आणि सफरचंदाचे झाड अशी शेतातील सर्व झाडेसुद्धा शुष्क झाली आहेत. मानवजातीच्या वंशातून आनंद नष्ट झाला आहे.
The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languishes; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.
13 १३ याजकांनो, गोणताट घाला आणि शोक करा! वेदीची सेवा करणाऱ्यांनो, आक्रोश करा. माझ्या परमेश्वराच्या सेवकांनो, या, तुम्ही पूर्ण रात्र गोणताट घालून राहा. कारण तुमच्या देवाच्या मंदिरात यापुढे अन्नार्पणे व पेयार्पणे अडकवून ठेवलेली आहेत.
Gird yourselves, and lament, you priests: howl, you ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, you ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is withheld from the house of your God.
14 १४ पवित्र उपास नेमा, आणि पवित्र सभेसाठी लोकांस एकत्र बोलवा. तुमचा देव परमेश्वर याच्या मंदिरात वडिलांस व देशात राहणाऱ्या लोकांस एकत्र गोळा करा. आणि परमेश्वरास आरोळी मारा.
Sanctify you a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry to the LORD,
15 १५ त्या भयानक दिवसाकरता हायहाय! कारण परमेश्वराचा दिवस जवळ आला आहे. सर्वसमर्थ देवापासून जसा नाश तसा तो येईल.
Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.
16 १६ आमच्या डोळ्यादेखत आमचे अन्न काढून घेतले, आणि देवाच्या मंदिरातील आनंद व उल्लास नष्ट झाले नाहीत काय?
Is not the meat cut off before our eyes, yes, joy and gladness from the house of our God?
17 १७ बियाणे त्यांच्या ढेकळाखाली कुजून गेले आहे, धान्याची कोठारे ओसाड झाली आहेत, कोठ्या खाली पाडल्या गेल्या आहेत, कारण धान्य सुकून गेले आहे.
The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered.
18 १८ प्राणी कसे कण्हत आहेत! गुरांचे कळप घाबरले आहेत. त्यांना खाण्यास कुरणे नाहीत. मेंढ्यांचे कळपसुद्धा पीडले आहेत.
How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yes, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.
19 १९ हे परमेश्वरा, मी तुझा धावा करतो. कारण आग्नीने रानातील कुरणे खाऊन टाकली आहेत. आणि शेतातील सर्व झाडे ज्वालांनी भस्म केली आहेत.
O LORD, to you will I cry: for the fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame has burned all the trees of the field.
20 २० रानातील वनपशूंनासुध्दा तुझी उत्कंठा लागली आहे, कारण पाण्याचे ओहोळ कोरडे झाले आहेत आणि आग्नीने रानातील कुरणे खाऊन टाकली आहेत.
The beasts of the field cry also to you: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
