3 ३ मनुष्य देवाशी वाद घालू शकत नाही. देव हजार प्रश्न विचारु शकतो आणि मनुष्यास त्याच्या एकाही प्रश्नाचे उत्तर देता येत नाही.
If he wole stryue with God, he may not answere to God oon for a thousynde.
He is wiys in herte, and strong in myyt; who ayenstood hym, and hadde pees?
Which bar hillis fro o place to anothir, and thei wisten not; whiche he distriede in his strong veniaunce.

7 ७ तोच तो देव आहे, जो सूर्याला उगवू नये म्हणून सांगतो आणि तो उगवत नाही, आणि ताऱ्यांनी चमकू नये म्हणून तो लपवून ठेवतो.
Which comaundith to the sunne, and it risith not; and he closith the sterris, as vndur a signet.
Which aloone stretchith forth heuenes, and goith on the wawis of the see.
9 ९ देवाने सप्तर्षि, मृगश्रीष व कृत्तिका यांना निर्माण केले. दक्षिणेकडचे आकाश ओलांडणारे ग्रहही त्यानेच निर्माण केले.

10 १० तोच देव आहे ज्याने आश्यर्यकारक अनाकलनीय गोष्टीही निर्मिल्या. खरोखरच देवाच्या अद्भुत कृत्यांची सीमा नाही.

11 ११ पाहा, देव जेव्हा माझ्या जवळून जातो तेव्हा मी त्यास बघू शकत नाही. तो जातो तरी त्याची महानता मला समजत नाही.
If he cometh to me, `that is, bi his grace, Y schal not se hym; if he goith awey, `that is, in withdrawynge his grace, Y schal not vndurstonde.
12 १२ देवाने जरी काही घेतले तरी त्यास कोणीही अडवू शकत नाही. तू काय करीत आहेस? असे त्यास कोणी विचारु शकत नाही.
If he axith sodeynli, who schal answere to hym? ethir who may seie to hym, Whi doist thou so?
`God is he, whos wraththe no man may withstonde; and vndur whom thei ben bowid, that beren the world.
Hou greet am Y, that Y answere to hym, and speke bi my wordis with hym?
15 १५ मी निष्पाप आहे, पण मी त्यास उत्तर देऊ शकणार नाही. मी केवळ माझ्या देवाची कृपादृष्टी मिळावी म्हणून याचना करु शकतो.
Which also schal not answere, thouy Y haue ony thing iust; but Y schal biseche my iuge.

19 १९ कोण शक्तीमान आहे जर आपण बोलतो तर देव सर्वशक्तिमान आहे, आणि जर आपण न्याया विषयी बोलतो, तर त्यास न्यायालयात कोणी आणू शकेल काय?

22 २२ मी स्वत: शीच म्हणतो: सगळ्याच्याच बाबतीत हे घडते. पापी लोकांसारखेच निष्पाप लोकही मरतात. देवच सगळ्यांचे जीवन संपवतो.

24 २४ जेव्हा एखादा वाईट मनुष्य सत्ता बळकावतो तेव्हा जे घडते आहे ते बघण्यापासून देव पुढाऱ्यांना दूर ठेवतो जर नाही, तर तो कोण आहे जो असे करतो?

25 २५ माझे दिवस एखाद्या धावपटू पेक्षाही वेगाने धावतात. माझे दिवस उडून जातात, त्यामध्ये कुठेही सुख दिसत नाही.

26 २६ लव्हाळाची बनवलेली बोट जशी वेगात जाते तसे माझे दिवस वेगात सरतात. गरुडाने आपल्या भक्ष्यावर झडप घालावी त्याप्रमाणे माझे दिवस अतिशय वेगात जातात.

27 २७ मी जरी म्हणालो, की माझे दु: ख विसरेन, मी चेहऱ्यावर हास्य आणेन, मी तक्रार करणार नाही. आणि आनंदी होईल.

32 ३२ देव माझ्यासारखा मनुष्य नाही. म्हणूनच मी त्यास उत्तर देऊ शकत नाही. आम्ही न्यायालयात एकमेकांना भेटू शकणार नाही.
