ईयोब 6

1 १ नंतर ईयोबाने उत्तर दिले आणि म्हणाला,

Then answered Job, and said,

2 २ “अहो, जर तुम्ही फक्त माझ्या यातना तोलल्या, जर माझ्या शोकाला तराजूत मोजले.

Oh that my vexation could be truly weighed, and my calamity; oh that men might lift it up in the balances at once!

3 ३ तर ते आता समुद्रातल्या वाळूपेक्षा जड आहे. यामुळेच काय माझे शब्द व्यर्थ आहे.

For now it is already heavier than the sand of the sea: therefore are my words confused.

4 ४ त्या सर्वशक्तिमानाचे बाण माझ्यात आहेत. माझ्या प्राण विषाला पिऊन घेत आहे, देवाने स्वतः त्याची दहशत माझ्या विरुध्द सज्ज केली आहे

For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, the poison whereof my spirit drinketh it: the terrors of God set themselves in array against me.

5 ५ वनातील गाढवाला गवत मिळाल्यावर ते ओरडते काय? किंवा गव्हाणीत चारा असता बैल भुकेने हबंरतो काय?

Doth the wild ass bray over the grass? or loweth the ox over his fodder?

6 ६ ज्याला चव नाही असे मिठाशिवाय खातात काय? किंवा अंड्यातल्या पांढऱ्या भागाला काही चव असते काय?

Is ever tasteless food eaten without salt? or is there any flavor in the white of an egg?

7 ७ ज्याला मी स्पर्श करण्यास नाकारले, ते माझ्यासाठी तिरस्करणीय अन्न झाले.

My soul refuseth to touch them: they are unto me like disgusting food.

8 ८ अहो, माझ्या विनंती प्रमाणे मला मिळाले आणि माझी आशा देव पूर्ण करील तर किती बरे! ज्या गोष्टी हव्यात त्या देवाने मला दिल्या असत्या.

Oh that some one would grant the accomplishment of my request; and that God would grant me the fulfillment of my hope!

9 ९ जर देवाच्या ईच्छेत आले तर त्याने मला चिरडून टाकावे, त्याने आपला हात मजवरून काढून घ्यावा आणि या जीवनातून मला मुक्त करावे.

Yea, that it would please God that he might crush me: that he would let loose his hand, and make an end of me!

10 १० तशाने माझ्या दुःखाचा परीहार होईल, जरी मी त्रासात असतो तरी मी दुःखात आनंद करीन, कारण जो पवित्र आहे त्याचे शब्द मी कधीही नाकारले नाही.

Then would this be still my comfort; yea, I would rejoice in my pain while be would not spare: that I have not gainsaid the commands of the Holy One.—

11 ११ माझी काय शक्ती आहे की मी वाट पाहण्याचा प्रयत्न करू? माझा अंत काय, कि मी स्वतःला आवरून धरू?

What is my strength, that I should wait? and what my end, that I should yet longer retain my patience?

12 १२ माझी शक्ती पाषाणासारखी आहे काय? किंवा माझे शरीर पितळेचे बनलेले आहे काय?

Is the strength of stones my strength? or is my flesh brazen?

13 १३ माझ्यापासुन मला कोणतेही साहाय्य होत नाही हे सत्य नाही काय, आणि ज्ञान माझ्यापासून हिरावून घेण्यात आले नाही काय?

Truly, am I not without my help in me? and is not wise counsel driven far away from me?

14 १४ कमजोर व्यक्तीवर संकट आले, त्याने सर्वशक्तिमान देवाचे भय धरणे सोडून दिले, तरी सुद्धा त्याच्या मित्राने विश्वासूपण दाखवावा.

As though I were one who refuseth kindness to his friend, and forsaketh the fear of the Almighty:

15 १५ बंधूनो, तुम्ही माझ्यासाठी वाळवंटी प्रदेशासमान व कधी न वाहणाऱ्या ओढ्याप्रमाणे आहात.

My brothers are treacherous as a brook, like flowing brooks they pass along;

16 १६ त्याच्यावर बर्फ असल्या कारणाने ते गढूळ झाले आणि जे बर्फामध्ये स्वतःला लपवितात असे तुम्ही आहात.

Which are made turbid by reason of the ice, wherein the snow hideth itself;

17 १७ जेव्हा ते बाहेर फेकले जातात ते नष्ट होतात, जेव्हा उष्णता वाढते ते जागेवरच वितळून जातात.

At the time when they feel the warmth, they vanish; when it is hot, they are quenched out of their place.

18 १८ त्यांचा गट त्यांच्या मार्गाने प्रवास करीत असता ते पाण्यासाठी बाजूला वळतात ते सुकलेल्या प्रदेशात भटकतात आणि नंतर नाश पावतात.

The paths of their course wind themselves along; they go in the wilderness and are lost.

19 १९ तेमाच्या गटाने तेथे तपास केला. शबाच्या काफिल्याने आशेने त्याचा शोध घेतला.

The caravans of Thema look hither, the travelling companies Sheba hope for them;

20 २० त्याची अपेक्षाभंग झाली कारण त्यांना पाणी सापडण्याची खात्री होती, ते तेथे गेले परंतु ते तेथे फसले.

But they stand ashamed because they had trusted; they come thither and are made to blush.

21 २१ आता तुम्ही मित्र माझ्यासाठी काहीच नाही, तुम्ही माझी भयानक परिस्थिती पाहीली आणि घाबरून गेला आहात.

For truly now ye are like such a one: ye see my terrible state and are afraid.

22 २२ मला काही द्या असे मी म्हणालो का? किंवा आपल्या संपत्तीतून मला काही बक्षीस द्या?

Have I then ever said, Give me something, and out of your property offer a bribe in my behalf?

23 २३ किंवा ‘माझ्याविरोधकाच्या हातून माझे रक्षण करा? किंवा, क्रूर लोकांपासून खंडणी देऊन वाचवा!’ असे मी तुम्हास म्हटले का?

And deliver me from the hand of the adversary? and redeem from the hand of tyrants?

24 २४ आता तुम्ही मला समज द्या आणि मी शांत होईन. माझी काय चूक झाली ते मला दाखवा.

Teach me, and I will indeed remain silent; and wherein I erred give me to understand.

25 २५ प्रामाणिक शब्द किती दु: ख देणारे असतात! परंतु तुमचे वादविवाद, मला कसे धमकावतील?

How pleasant are straightforward words! but what doth arguing prove?

26 २६ तुम्ही माझे शब्द नाकारण्याची योजना केली आहे का? निराश करणाऱ्या मनुष्याचे शब्द वाऱ्यासारखे आहेत का?

Do ye think to reprove words, and [to regard] as wind the speeches of one that is despairing?

27 २७ खरोखर, पोरक्या मुलांवर जुगार खेळता, आणि तुम्ही व्यापाऱ्यासारखे मित्रांबरोबर घासाघीस करता.

Yea, ye would cast any thing upon the fatherless, and ye would dig a pit against your friend.

28 २८ पण आता माझ्याकडे लक्षपूर्वक पाहा. खात्रीने मी तुमच्या तोंडासमोर खोटे बोलणार नाही.

But now, if it please you, turn yourselves toward me, and [say] whether I would lie before your face.

29 २९ मी तुम्हास विनंती करतो तुम्ही आता कडक धोरण सोडून द्या तुमच्याबरोबर अन्याय होणार नाही. खरोखर, कडक धोरण सोडून द्या, कारण माझे ध्येय नितीचे आहे.

Reflect again, I pray you, there will be no wrong: yea, reflect once more, my righteousness [will be found] therein.

30 ३० माझा जीभेवर काही वाईट आहे काय? माझ्या तोंडाला अर्धमाचा फरक समजत नाही काय?”

Is there any wrong on my tongue? or should my palate not understand [if I spoke] what is iniquitous?
