ईयोब 35

1 १ अलीहूने आपले बोलणे चालू ठेवले. तो म्हणाला,

Moreover Elihu proceeded, and said:

2 २ “तू निष्पाप आहे असा तू विचार करतोस काय? मी देवापेक्षा अधीक नितीमान आहे असा तू विचार करतोस काय?

Dost thou then think this to be right? Thou hast said, “I am more righteous than God.”

3 ३ तू देवाला विचारतोस ‘जर मी नितीमान असण्याचा मला काय लाभ मिळेल? मी जर पाप केले नाहीतर त्यामुळे माझे काय चांगले होणार आहे?’

For thou askest, “What advantage have I? What have I gained, more than if I had sinned?”

4 ४ मी तुला उत्तर देतो, तू आणि तुझे मित्र यांना देखील.

I will answer thee, And thy companions with thee.

5 ५ वरती आकाशाकडे बघ, तुझ्यापेक्षा उंच असणाऱ्या ढगांकडे बघ.

Look up to the heavens, and see! And behold the clouds, which are high above thee!

6 ६ जर तू पाप केलेस तर त्यामुळे देवाला कसली इजा होत नाही? तुझ्याकडे पापांच्या राशी असल्या तरी त्यामुळे देवाला काही होत नाही?

If thou sinnest, what doest thou against Him? If thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou to him?

7 ७ आणि तू खूप नितीमान असलास तरी तू देवाला काही देऊ शकत नाहीस? तुझ्याहातून त्यास काहीच मिळत नाही?

If thou art righteous, what dost thou give him? Or what receiveth he at thy hand?

8 ८ तुझे दुष्टपण कदाचित मनुष्यास ईजा पोहचवेल, जसा तू मनुष्य आहेस, आणि तुझे नितीमत्वाचा कदाचीत एखाद्या मनुष्याच्या पुत्राला लाभ होईल.

Thy wickedness injureth only a man like thyself, And thy righteousness profiteth only a son of man.

9 ९ पुष्कळशा वाईट कृत्यामुळे लोकांस दु: ख झाले तर ते ओरडतील. ते सामर्थ्यवान लोकांकडे जातात आणि मदतीची याचना करतात.

The oppressed cry out on account of the multitude of wrongs; They cry aloud on account of the arm of the mighty.

10 १० परंतु कोणीही असे म्हणणार नाहीत, मला निर्माण करणारा देव कुठे आहे? जो रात्रीला गीत देतो,

But none saith, “Where is God, my Maker, Who giveth songs in the night;

11 ११ ‘देवाने आम्हास आकाशातील पशुपक्ष्यांपेक्षा शहाणे बनवले आहे तेव्हा तो कुठे आहे?’ पृथ्वीवरील जंगली प्राण्यापेक्षा जो मला अधीक शिकवतो,

Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, And maketh us wiser than the birds of heaven?”

12 १२ त्यामुळे त्यांनी देवाकडे मदत मागितली तरी देव त्यांना उत्तर देणार नाही कारण ते लोक अतिशय गर्विष्ठ आहेत.

There they cry aloud on account of the pride of the wicked; But he giveth no answer.

13 १३ देव त्यांच्या तुच्छ याचनेकडे लक्ष देणार नाही सर्वशक्तिमान देव त्यांच्याकडे लक्ष देणार नाही.

For God will not hear the vain supplication, Nor will the Almighty regard it;

14 १४ तेव्हा, तू जेव्हा असे म्हणशील की देव तुला दिसत नाही तेव्हा देव तुझ्याकडे लक्ष देणार नाही तर तू त्याची वाट पाहत रहा!

Much less when thou sayest thou canst not see him: Justice is with him, —only wait thou for him!

15 १५ तो तुला किती थोडक्यात उत्तर देईल जर तू असे म्हणालास तो क्रोधाने कोणालाही शिक्षा करीत नाही, आणि तो लोकांच्या गर्वीष्ठपणाकडे फारसे लक्ष देत नाही.

But now, because he hath not visited in his anger, Nor taken strict note of transgression,

16 १६ म्हणून ईयोब मुर्खपणाचे बोलण्यासाठी त्याचे मुख उघडतो. तो ज्ञानाविना त्याचे शब्द बोलत राहतो.”

Therefore hath Job opened his mouth rashly, And multiplied words without knowledge.
