ईयोब 22

1 १ मग अलीफज तेमानीने उत्तर दिले व तो म्हणाला,

Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered,

2 २ “देवासाठी मनुष्य उपयुक्त होऊ शकेल काय? ज्ञानी मनुष्य देवाला उपयोगी होऊ शकतो काय?

“Can a man be profitable to God? Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself.

3 ३ तुमच्या धार्मिक जगण्याने सर्वसमर्थाला काही आनंद होतो काय? तू चांगला राहीलास तर त्यास काही लाभ होईल काय?

Is it any pleasure to the Almighty that you are righteous? Or does it benefit him that you make your ways perfect?

4 ४ तो तुझा भक्तीभाव पाहून तुझा निषेध करतो आणि तुला न्यायाकडे नेतो का?

Is it for your piety that he reproves you, that he enters with you into judgment?

5 ५ तुझे पाप मोठे नाही काय? तुझ्या दुष्टाईला अंत नाही ना?

Is not your wickedness great? Neither is there any end to your iniquities.

6 ६ तू विनाकारण आपल्या भावाचे गहाण अडकवून ठेवले, उघड्यांची वस्त्रे तू हिरावून घेतली.

For you have taken pledges from your brother for nothing, and stripped the naked of their clothing.

7 ७ तू थकलेल्यास पाणी दिले नाही आणि भुकेल्या लोकांस अन्न दिले नाही.

You have not given water to the weary to drink, and you have withheld bread from the hungry.

8 ८ जरी तू, शक्तीमान मनुष्य असशील, सर्व भूमी तुझी असेल, जरी तू एक सन्मानीत मनुष्य असशील.

But as for the mighty man, he had the earth. The honorable man, he lived in it.

9 ९ तू विधवांना काहीही न देता घालवून दिले असशील, पोरक्याचे बाहू मोडले असशील.

You have sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.

10 १० म्हणूनच तुझ्या भोवती सापळे आहेत आणि अचानक आलेल्या संकटानी तू घाबरुन जात आहेस.

Therefore snares are around you. Sudden fear troubles you,

11 ११ म्हणूनच सर्वत्र इतका अंधार आहे की तुला काही दिसत नाही आणि तू पुराच्या पाण्याने चोहोबाजूंनी वेढला आहेस.

or darkness, so that you can not see, and floods of waters cover you.

12 १२ देव उंच स्वर्गात नाही काय? तारे किती उंचावर आहेत ते बघ, ते कीती उंच आहेत.

“Is not God in the heights of heaven? See the height of the stars, how high they are!

13 १३ आणि तू म्हणतो देवाला काय माहीती आहे? दाट अंधाराच्या आडून तो कसा न्याय करतो.

You say, ‘What does God know? Can he judge through the thick darkness?

14 १४ दाट ढग त्यास झाकत आहेत, म्हणजे त्याने आपल्याला बघू नये.

Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that he does not see. He walks on the vault of the sky.’

15 १५ तू जूनाच मार्ग धरणार आहेस काय, ज्यावर दुष्टजण चालले.

Will you keep the old way, which wicked men have trodden,

16 १६ त्यांची वेळ येण्यापूर्वीच त्यांचा नाश करण्यात आला, त्यांचा पाया नदीसारखा वाहून गेला.

who were snatched away before their time, whose foundation was poured out as a stream,

17 १७ जे देवाला म्हटले, ‘आमच्या पासून निघून जा तो सर्वशक्तिमान देव आम्हास काय करु शकतो?’

who said to God, ‘Depart from us!’ and, ‘What can the Almighty do for us?’

18 १८ आणि त्यानेच त्यांची घरे चांगल्या वस्तूंनी भरली होती. परंतू दुष्टाची योजना माझ्यापासुन दूर आहे.

Yet he filled their houses with good things, but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.

19 १९ धार्मिक त्यांचा नाश पाहून संतोष पावतील. निर्दोष त्यांचा उपहास करतात.

The righteous see it, and are glad. The innocent ridicule them,

20 २० आणि म्हणतात खरोखरच आमच्या विरूद्ध जे उठले त्यांचा नाश झाला आहे. त्यांची संपत्ती आगीत नष्ट होत आहे.

saying, ‘Surely those who rose up against us are cut off. The fire has consumed their remnant.’

21 २१ तू आता देवाला शरण जा. त्याच्याशी सलोखा कर. तू हे केलेस तर तुला खूप चांगल्या गोष्टी मिळतील.

“Acquaint yourself with him now, and be at peace. By it, good will come to you.

22 २२ मी तुला विनंती करतो त्याच्या तोंडच्या सूचनांचा स्विकार कर. त्याचे शब्द आपल्या हृदयात ठेव.

Please receive instruction from his mouth, and lay up his words in your heart.

23 २३ तू सर्वशक्तिमान देवाकडे परत येशील, तर तुझी बांधणी होईल. जर तू अधार्मीकता आपल्या तंबूपासून दूर ठेवशील.

If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up, if you put away unrighteousness far from your tents.

24 २४ तुझ्याजवळ असलेल्या संपत्तीला मातीमोल मानशील, तू तुझ्या सर्वात चांगल्या ओफीरच्या सोन्याला दरीतल्या दगडाएवढी किंमत देशील.

Lay your treasure in the dust, the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks.

25 २५ म्हणजे सर्वशक्तिमान देवच तुझे धन असा होईल आणि तो तुला मोलवान रूपे असा होईल.

The Almighty will be your treasure, and precious silver to you.

26 २६ तेव्हा तू सर्वशक्तिमानच्या ठायी आनंद पावशील, तू तुझे मुख देवाकडे वर करशील.

For then you will delight yourself in the Almighty, and will lift up your face to God.

27 २७ तू त्याची प्रार्थना करशील आणि तो तुझे ऐकेल आणि तू आपले नवस फेडशील.

You will make your prayer to him, and he will hear you. You will pay your vows.

28 २८ जी गोष्ट तू मनात आणशील तेव्हा ती सिध्दीस जाईल. प्रकाश तुझ्या मार्गात चमकेल.

You will also decree a thing, and it will be established to you. Light will shine on your ways.

29 २९ देव गर्वीष्ठांना नम्र करील, आणि तो नम्र लोंकाची सुटका करील.

When they cast down, you will say, ‘be lifted up.’ He will save the humble person.

30 ३० जो निर्दोष नाही त्यालाही तो वाचवतो, तुझ्या हाताच्या निर्मळतेमुळे ते बचावले जातील.”

He will even deliver him who is not innocent. Yes, he will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands.”
