ईयोब 13

1 १ पाहा, “हे सर्व मी पूर्वी पाहिले आहे, माझ्या कानांनी हे ऐकले आहे व त्या सर्व गोष्टी मला समजतात.

Lo, my eye hath seen all [this], my ear hath heard and understood it.

2 २ तुला जेवढे माहीत आहे तेवढेच मलाही माहीत आहे, मी तुमच्याहून काही कमी नाही.

What ye know, [the same] do I know also: I [am] not inferior to you.

3 ३ मला सर्वशक्तिमानाशी बोलायचे आहे, मला देवाबरोबर माझ्या कारणाविषयी बोलायचे आहे.

Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.

4 ४ तुम्ही तिघेजण खोटे बोलून तुमचे अज्ञान लपवीत आहात. ज्या वैद्याला कुणालाही बरे करता येत नाही अशा निरुपयोगी वैद्यासारखे तुम्ही आहात.

But ye [are] forgers of lies, ye [are] all physicians of no value.

5 ५ अहो, तुम्ही गप्प बसावे अशी माझी इच्छा आहे. ती तुम्हास करता येण्याजोगी सर्वात शहाणपणाची गोष्ट असेल.

O that ye would altogether hold your peace and it would be your wisdom.

6 ६ आता माझ्या युक्तिवादाकडे लक्ष द्या, माझ्या ओठाची फिर्याद ऐका.

Hear now my reasoning, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.

7 ७ तुम्ही देवासाठी खोटे बोलाल का? त्याच्या करीता तुम्ही कपटाचे भाषण करणार काय?

Will ye speak wickedly for God? and talk deceitfully for him?

8 ८ तुम्ही माझ्याविरुध्द देवाचा बचाव करीत आहात का? तुम्ही मुळीच न्यायाने वागत नाहीत तो देव आहे म्हणून तुम्ही त्याची बाजू घेत आहात.

Will ye accept his person? will ye contend for God?

9 ९ जर देवाने अगदी जवळून तुमची तपासणी केली तर, त्यास काहीतरी चांगले आढळेल का? तुम्ही लोकांस जसे मूर्ख बनवू शकता तसेच देवालाही बनवू शकाल असे तुम्हास वाटते का?

Is it good that he should search you out? or as one man mocketh another, do ye [so] mock him?

10 १० तुम्ही जर एखादा मनुष्य महत्वाचा आहे म्हणून न्यायालयात त्याची बाजू घेतलीत तर देव तुमच्यावर टीका करेल हे तुम्हास माहीत आहे का?

He will surely reprove you, if ye do secretly accept persons.

11 ११ देवाचे मोठेपण तुम्हास घाबरवत नाही काय? त्याचा धाक तुम्हास वाटणार नाही काय?

Shall not his excellence make you afraid? and his dread fall upon you?

12 १२ तुमचे युक्तिवाद कुचकामाचे आहेत. तुमची उत्तरे कवडीमोलाची आहेत, तुमची तटबंदी ही मातीपासून बनलेली आहे.

Your remembrances [are] like to ashes, your bodies to bodies of clay.

13 १३ आता जरा गप्प बसा आणि मला बोलू द्या! माझे जे काही होईल ते मला मान्य आहे.

Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let come on me what [will].

14 १४ मी माझे मांस माझाच दातात धरेन मी माझ्याच हातात माझेच जीवन धरीन?

Why do I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in my hand?

15 १५ पहा, जरी त्याने मला मारुन टाकले, तरी मी त्याच्यावरच विश्वास ठेवीन. असे असले तरी, मी त्याच्यासमोर माझा मार्गांची मांडणी करीन.

Though he shall slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain my own ways before him.

16 १६ कारण ढोंगी त्याच्या पुढे येणार नाही हे माझे तारण होईल.

He also [shall be] my salvation: for a hypocrite shall not come before him.

17 १७ देवा, तू माझे सांगणे काळजी पूर्वक ऐक, माझी घोषणा तुझा कानी येऊदे.

Hear diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears.

18 १८ आता पहा, मी माझ्या बचावाला सिध्द झालो आहे. मी माझे मुद्दे काळजीपूर्वक मांडीन. मला माहीत आहे की मी निष्पाप आहे हे मी दाखवून देईन.

Behold now, I have ordered [my] cause; I know that I shall be justified.

19 १९ न्यायालयात माझ्या विरुध वादविवाद करेल असा कोण आहे? आणि माझी चुक आहे हे तू येऊन सिद्ध केलेस म्हणून मी गप्प बसेन व प्राण त्यागेन.

Who [is] he [that] will plead with me? for now, if I hold my tongue, I shall expire.

20 २० देवा, तू माझासाठी फक्त दोन गोष्टी कर, आणि त्यानतर तुझ्या मुखापासून मी स्वत: ला लपवणार नाही.

Only do not two [things] to me: then will I not hide myself from thee.

21 २१ माझ्या विरुध असलेला तुझा हात कडून घे, आणि तुझ्या भयानक गोष्टींनी मला भयभीत करण्याचे थांबव.

Withdraw thy hand far from me: and let not thy dread make me afraid.

22 २२ नंतर मला हाक मार. मी तुला ओ देईन किंवा मला बोलू दे आणि तू मला उत्तर दे.

Then call thou, and I will answer: or let me speak, and answer thou me.

23 २३ मी किती पापे केली आहेत? मी काय चुका केल्या आहेत? तू मला माझी पापे आणि माझ्या चुका दाखव.

How many [are] my iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression and my sin.

24 २४ तू आपले मुख माझ्या पासून का लपवत आहेस? आणि मला तुझ्या शत्रूसारखे का वागवीत आहेस?

Why hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for thy enemy?

25 २५ मी वाऱ्यावर उडणारे एक पान मात्र आहे. तू गवताच्या एका काडीचा पिच्छा पुरवितोस का?

Wilt thou break a leaf driven to and fro? and wilt thou pursue the dry stubble?

26 २६ तू माझ्याविरुध्द फार कटू गोष्टी लिहिल्या. मी तरुणपणात जी पापे केली त्याबद्दल तू मला कष्ट भोगायला लावतो आहेस.

For thou writest bitter things against me, and makest me to possess the iniquities of my youth.

27 २७ तू माझ्या पायात बेड्या घातल्या आहेस. माझ्या प्रत्येक पावलावर तू पाळत ठेवतोस, माझी प्रत्येक हालचाल तू टिपतोस.

Thou puttest my feet also in the stocks, and lookest narrowly to all my paths; thou settest a print upon the heels of my feet.

28 २८ म्हणून मी कुजलेल्या लाकडासारखा, कसरीने खाल्लेल्या कापडासारखा क्षीण होत चाललो आहे.”

And he, as a rotten thing, consumeth, as a garment that is moth-eaten.
