यहेज्केल 18
The word of the Lord came unto me again, saying,
2 २ “वडीलांनी आंबट द्राक्षे खाल्ली आणि मुलांचे दात आंबले,” याचा अर्थ काय आहे? इस्राएलाच्या भूमीत तू ज्या म्हणी वापरतो आणि म्हणतो.
What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge?
3 ३ मी शपथ घेतो, “हे परमेश्वर देव जाहीर करतोय” निश्चितच इस्राएलात कुठलाही प्रसंग म्हणी वापरण्यासाठी उरणार नाही.
As I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have [occasion] any more to use this proverb in Israel.
4 ४ पाहा! सर्व जीव आत्मे माझे आहेत, जे पित्यापासून जीवधारी झालेत, म्हणून तेच पुत्राचे जीवन आहे, ते माझे आहे जो पुरुष पाप करेल तो मरेल.
Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right,
6 ६ जर त्यास पवित्र पर्वतावर खाण्यासारखे काही नाही आणि त्याने आपले डोळे वर इस्राएलाच्या मूर्तीकडे लावले नाही, जर त्याने आपल्या शेजाऱ्याच्या पत्नीला भ्रष्ट केले नाही किंवा रुतुमती काळात स्त्रीकडे गेला नाही.
and hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour’s wife, neither hath come near to a woman in her separation;
7 ७ जर त्याने कुणावरही दडपशाही केली नाही पण त्याने आपल्या कर्जदाराकडून शपथ वाहून घेतली जे त्याने चोरले होते ते त्याने घेतले नाही, पण त्या बदल्यात त्याने भुकेल्यांना अन्न दिले आणि नग्न लोकांना कपडे घातली.
and hath not wronged any, but hath restored to the debtor his pledge, hath spoiled none by violence, hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment;
8 ८ त्याने कर्जासाठी कुठलेही व्याज घेतले नाही, वाजवी पेक्षा जास्त नफा घेतला नाही जर त्याने न्यायत्व केले व लोकांमध्ये विश्वासूपण निर्माण केला.
he that hath not given forth upon usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man,
9 ९ जर तो माझ्या दर्ज्याने चालेल आणि माझे फर्मान विश्वासूपणे वागण्यात पाळेल तो मनुष्य नितीमान ठरेल; तो जगेल, असे परमेश्वर देव जाहीर करतो.
hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD.
If he beget a son that is a robber, a shedder of blood, and that doeth any one of these things,
11 ११ त्याच्या वडिलाने यातील काही एक केले नाही पण त्याच्या मुलाने पवित्र पर्वतावर खाद्य पदार्थ नेऊन खाल्ले आणि आपल्या शेजाऱ्याच्या मुलीला भ्रष्ट केले.
and that doeth not any of those [duties], but even hath eaten upon the mountains, and defiled his neighbour’s wife,
12 १२ त्याने गरजू व गरीबांवर दडपशाही केली जर त्याने जप्ती आणली आणि चोरी केली आणि त्याचे वचन पाळले नाही, घेतलेले परत केले नाही, जर त्याने आपली नजर मूर्तीकडे लावून तिरस्कार आणणारे काम केले.
hath wronged the poor and needy, hath spoiled by violence, hath not restored the pledge, and hath lifted up his eyes to the idols, hath committed abomination,
13 १३ जर त्याने व्याजाने उसने घेतले किंवा अन्यायाने नफा मिळवला, तो जगेल का? तो जगणार नाही त्याने किळस वाणे हे सर्व काम केले तो खात्रीने मरेल त्याच्या रक्ताचा झडा त्याच्याच माथी येईल.
hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations: he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.
14 १४ पण पाहा! त्यास पुत्र झाला व त्याने आपल्या वडिलाने केलेले पातक पाहिले आणि स्वत: देवाचे भय बाळगले आणि तेच पाप त्याने केली नाही,
Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father’s sins, which he hath done, and feareth, and doth not such like,
15 १५ जर त्याने डोंगरावर जाऊन अन्न खाल्ले नाही व आपले डोळे इस्राएलाच्या मूर्तीकडे लावले नाहीत आणि आपल्या शेजाऱ्याच्या स्त्रीला भ्रष्ट केले नाही.
that hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, hath not defiled his neighbour’s wife,
16 १६ जर त्याने कुणावरही दड्पशाही केली नाही, जप्ती, तारण म्हणून काही ठेवून घेतले किंवा चोरलेल्या वस्तू ठेवून घेतल्या नाहीत, पण त्याऐवजी त्याने भुकेलेल्या व्यक्तीस अन्न दिले आणि नग्न व्यक्तीस वस्त्र दिले.
neither hath wronged any, hath not taken aught to pledge, neither hath spoiled by violence, but hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment,
17 १७ गरीबांना नाडण्यास त्याने जर आपला हात आखुड केला आणि त्याने व्याज घेतले नाही व अन्यायाने नफा घेतला नाही, त्याने माझे फर्मान मान्य केले आणि माझ्या दर्जानुसार चालला, तर तो आपल्या वडिलाच्या पातकासाठी मरणार नाही. तो निश्चित जगेल.
that hath withdrawn his hand from the poor, that hath not received usury nor increase, hath executed my judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.
18 १८ त्याच्या वडिलाविषयी म्हणाल तर त्याने जुलूम केला, आपल्या भावाला लुटले व आपल्या लोकात अनाचार केला, म्हणून पाहा! तो आपल्या अधर्मामुळे मरेल.
As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, spoiled his brother by violence, and did that which is not good among his people, behold, he shall die in his iniquity.
19 १९ पण तू म्हणतोस “वडिलाच्या दुष्कर्माचा भार मुलाने का बरे वाहू नये?” कारण मुलगा आपला न्याय भरुन पावला व नीतिने वागला आणि त्याने माझे सर्व नियम पाळले; त्याने त्याची कृती केली, तो निश्चित जगेल.
Yet say ye, Wherefore doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.
20 २० जर एकाने पाप केले तो मरेल. मुलगा वडिलाच्या दुष्कर्माचा भार वाहणार नाही त्याने केलेले चांगले वर्तन हे त्याच्या जमेस धरले जाईल, दुष्टाची दुष्टाई त्याच्या जमेस धरली जेईल.
The soul that sinneth, it shall die: the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
21 २१ पण पापी आपले केलेले सर्व कुमार्ग सोडून मागे वळला, आणि त्याने सर्व नियम पाळून न्यायाने नीतिने वागला तर निश्चयाने जगेल, मरणार नाही.
But if the wicked turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
22 २२ सर्व अपराध जे त्याने केले त्याचे स्मरण पुन्हा केले जाणार नाही, तो आपल्या नीतीच्या सरावाने जगेल.
None of his transgressions that he hath committed shall be remembered against him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
23 २३ “मी दुष्टतेच्या मृत्यूवर मोठा हर्ष केला आहे” हे परमेश्वर देव जाहीर करतो आणि जर आपला मार्ग त्याने बदलला नाही तर तो जगेल?
Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked? saith the Lord GOD: and not rather that he should return from his way, and live?
24 २४ जर नीतिमान आपला मार्ग नीतिमत्तेपासून वळेल आणि अपराध करेल आणि घृणास्पद, दुष्टतांच्या दुष्टतेसारखे करील, मग तो जगेल? त्याने केलेले नीतिमानाचे कार्य जमेस धरले जाणार नाही. जेव्हा त्याने देशद्रोही बनून विश्वासघात केला, तर त्याने केलेल्या पापात तो मरेल.
But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? None of his righteous deeds that he hath done shall be remembered: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.
25 २५ पण तू म्हणतोस, “प्रभूचे मार्ग योग्य नाहीत,” इस्राएलाच्या घराण्या ऐक! काय माझे मार्ग अयोग्य आहेत? तुझे मार्ग अयोग्य नाहीत का?
Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel: Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?
26 २६ जर नीतिमान आपल्या नीतिमत्तेपासून आपला मार्ग फिरवेल आणि दुष्कर्म करेल आणि मरेल याचे कारण तोच ठरेल, आणि त्याने केलेल्या दुष्कर्मात मरेल.
When the righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth therein; in his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
27 २७ पण पापी त्याने केलेल्या दुष्कर्मापासून वळेल तर आणि न्यायाने व नीतिने वागेल, तर त्यामुळे त्याचा जीव वाचेल.
Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
29 २९ पण इस्राएलाचे घराणे म्हणते, “प्रभूचा मार्ग अयोग्य आहे आणि तुझे स्वत: चे मार्ग कसे अयोग्य नाही?”
Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
30 ३० तथापि “इस्राएलाच्या घराण्या मी तुम्हातील प्रत्येकाचा तुमच्या मार्गाप्रमाणे मी न्याय करेन.” हे परमेश्वर देव जाहीर करतो, पश्चाताप कर व आपल्या सर्व अपराधापासून मागे वळ जे तुझ्या विरुध्द दुष्कर्माने अडखळण झाले होते.
Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Return ye, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
31 ३१ तू केलेले सर्व दुष्कर्म तुझ्यापासून दूर कर, तुझ्यासाठी नवे हृदय नवा आत्मा सिध्द केला आहे, यास्तव इस्राएलाच्या घराण्या तू का मरावे?
Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereto ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
32 ३२ कारण “मी मरणाऱ्यांसाठी मला हर्ष होत नाही” हे परमेश्वर देव जाहीर करतो. “मग पश्चाताप कर आणि जीवित राहा.”
For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live.
