आमोस 2
1 १ परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, “मवाबाच्या तिन्ही पापांबद्दल, अगदी चारहींमुळे, मी त्यांना शिक्षा करण्यापासून मागे फिरणार नाही. कारण त्यांनी अदोमाच्या राजाची हाडे जाळून त्यांचा चुना केला.
Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Moab, and because of four, will I not turn it back, —Because he burned the bones of the King of Edom to lime,
2 २ म्हणून मी मवाबावर अग्नी पाठवीन, आणि तो करोयोथचे किल्ले खाऊन टाकील. आणि मवाब गोंधळात, आरडाओरड करत आणि रणशिंगाचा आवाज होत असता मरेल.
Therefore will I send a fire into Moab, which shall devour the palaces of Kerioth—and Moab, shall die with tumult, with war- cry, with the sound of a horn;
3 ३ मी तिच्यातील न्यायकरणाऱ्यांना नष्ट करीन, आणि त्याच्यातील सरदारांनाही त्याच्याबरोबर मारून टाकीन.” असे परमेश्वर म्हणतो.
And I will cut off the judge out of her midst, and, all her rulers, will I slay with him, saith Yahweh.
4 ४ परमेश्वर म्हणतो, “यहूदाच्या तिन्ही पापांबद्दल, अगदी चारहींमुळे, मी त्यास शिक्षा करण्यापासून मागे फिरणार नाही. कारण त्यांनी परमेश्वराचे नियमशास्त्र नकारले आहे, आणि त्यांनी परमेश्वराच्या आज्ञा पाळल्या नाहीत. त्यांची लबाडी त्यांच्या पापाला कारणीभूत ठरली अशाच प्रकारे त्यांचे पुर्वजसुद्धा वागत होते.
Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Judah, and because of four, will I not turn it back, —Because they have rejected the law of Yahweh, and, his statutes, have not kept, but their falsehoods, have led them astray, after the which their fathers, did walk,
Therefore will I send a fire upon Judah, —which shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.
6 ६ परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो: “इस्राएलच्या तिन्ही अपराधांमुळे, तर अगदी चारहींमुळे, मी त्यास शिक्षा करण्यापासून मागे फिरणार नाही. कारण त्यांनी चांदीसाठी निरपराध आणि पायातील वाहाणांच्या एका जोड्यासाठी गरिबास विकले आहे.
Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Israel, and because of four, will I not turn it back, —Because they have sold—for silver—the righteous, and the needy—for a pair of shoes:
7 ७ जसे लोक माती पायाखाली तुडवतात तसेच ते गरीबांची मस्तके मातीत तुडवतात; आणि मुलांनी व त्यांच्या वडीलांनी एकाच स्त्रीशी संबंध ठेवले, अशासाठी की माझे नाव धुळीस मिळावे.
Who strive to bring the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and, the way of the oppressed, they pervert, —Yea, a man and his own father, go in unto the maid, to profane my holy Name!
8 ८ आणि ते प्रत्येक वेदीजवळ गहाण घेतलेल्या कपड्यांवर पडतात, आणि आपल्या दैवतांच्या मंदिरात ज्याच्याकडून दंड घेतला त्यांचा द्राक्षरस पितात.
And, on pledged garments, they recline, beside every altar, —and, exacted wine, do they drink, in the house of their God.
9 ९ मी प्रत्यक्ष त्यांच्यासमोर अमोऱ्यांचा नाश केला, ज्यांची उंची गंधसरूप्रमाणे उंच होती; ते अल्लोन वृक्षांप्रमाणे बळकट होते. परंतु मी त्यांच्यावरील फळांचा व खालील मुळांचा विध्वंस केला.
Yet it was, I, who destroyed the Amorite, from before them, whose height was, like the height of cedars, and, strong, was he, like the oaks, —but I destroyed his fruit above, and his roots beneath.
10 १० तुम्हास मिसरमधून आणणारा मीच आणि चाळीस वर्षे मीच तुम्हास वाळवंटातून पार नेले ह्यासाठी की अमोरींचा प्रदेश तुम्ही काबीज करावा.
And it was, I, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, —and led you in the desert, forty years, to take possession of the land of the Amorites;
11 ११ मी तुमच्यापैकी काही मुलांना संदेष्टे होण्यासाठी आणि तुमच्यातील काही तरुणांना नाजीर होण्यास वाढवले, इस्राएल लोकांनो, हे असे नाही काय?” असे परमेश्वरा म्हणतो.
And I raised up, of your sons, for prophets, and, of your young men, for Nazirites, —Was it not even so, ye sons of Israel? Demandeth Yahweh;
12 १२ “पण तुम्ही नाजीरांचे मन वळवून त्यांना मद्य प्यायला लावले, आणि संदेष्ट्यांना भविष्य सांगण्यास मनाई केली.
And yet ye caused the Nazirites to drink wine, —and, on the prophet, laid ye command, saying, Ye shall not prophesy!
13 १३ पाहा, जसा पेंढ्यांनी भरलेली गाडी एखाद्याला दाबून टाकेल, त्याच प्रकाराने मी तुम्हास दाबून टाकीन.
Lo! I, am pressed under you, —as a full cart is pressed by its sheaves,
14 १४ चपळ व्यक्ती सुटणार नाही; बलवान आहे त्यास आपली शक्ती लावता यायची नाही, आणि वीराला स्वत: चा जीव वाचवता येणार नाही.
Therefore shall flight, perish, from the swift, and, the mighty, shall not invigorate his strength, —nor shall, the hero, escape with his life;
15 १५ धनुर्धाऱ्याला उभे राहता येणार नाही. आणि जोरात धावणारे सुटणार नाही; घोडेस्वार आपला जीव वाचवणार नाही.
Nor, he that handleth the bow, make a stand, and, the swift on his feet, shall not escape, —nor, he that rideth on a horse, escape with his life:
Nay, he that is stout in his heart, among heroes, naked, shall flee, in that day, Declareth Yahweh.
