And the chief of the priests demanded if these (things) were so?
2 २ तेव्हा तो म्हणाला, “बंधुजनहो व वडिलांनो, ऐका, आपला पूर्वज अब्राहाम हारान प्रांतात जाऊन राहण्यापूर्वी मेसोपटेम्या देशात असता गौरवशाली देवाने त्यास दर्शन दिले.”
But he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hear! The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham while he was between the rivers, he had not yet come to dwell in Charan,
and said to him, Go forth from thy country and from (being) with the sons of thy family, and come to the land that I will show thee.
4 ४ तेव्हा तो खास्द्यांच्या देशातून निघून हारान नगरात जाऊन राहिला; मग त्याचा पिता मरण पावल्यावर देवाने त्यास तेथून काढून सध्या तुम्ही राहता त्या देशात आणले.
Then went forth Abraham from the land of the Kaldoyee, and came and dwelt in Charan: and from thence, his father being dead, Aloha caused him to pass into this land in which you dwell to-day.
5 ५ पण त्यामध्ये त्यास वतन दिले नाही, पाऊल भर देखील जमीन दिली नाही. त्यास मूलबाळ नसताही देवाने त्यास अभिवचन दिले की, हा देश तुला व तुझ्यामागे तुझ्या संततीला वतन असा देईल.
And (yet) he gave him no inheritance in it, nor a place of the feet, but he promised to give it to him for an heritage to himself and to his seed, while as yet he had not a son.
6 ६ देवाने आणखी असे सांगितले त्याची संतती परदेशात जाऊन काही काळ राहतील, आणि ते लोक त्यांना दास करून चारशे वर्षे वाईटाने वागवतील.
And Aloha spake with him, telling him that his seed should be a sojourner in a strange land, and that they would enslave and ill-treat them four hundred years.
7 ७ ‘ज्या राष्ट्राच्या दास्यात ते असतील त्यांचा न्याय मी करीन’ आणि त्यानंतर ते तेथून निघून ‘या स्थळी माझी उपासना करतील,’ असे देवाने म्हटले.
And the nation whom they will serve (in) bondage will I judge, saith Aloha: and afterward they shall come forth and serve me in this place.
8 ८ त्याने अब्राहामाला सुंतेचा करार लावून दिला हा करार झाल्यानंतर अब्राहामाला इसहाक झाला, त्याची त्याने आठव्या दिवशी सुंता केली मग इसहाकाला याकोब झाला व याकोबाला बारा कुलपती झाले.
And he gave to him the covenant of circumcision. And then begat he Ishok, and circumcised him on the eighth day, and Ishok begat Jakub, and Jakub begat our twelve fathers.
And these our fathers were incited against Jauseph, and sold him into Mitsreen. And Aloha was with him:
10 १० त्याने त्यास त्याच्यावरील सर्व संकटातून सोडवले, आणि मिसर देशाचा राजा फारो याच्यासमोर त्यास कृपापात्र व ज्ञानी असे केले. म्हणून फारोने त्यास मिसर देशावर व आपल्या सर्व घरावर अधिकारी नेमले.
and he delivered him from all his afflictions, and gave him grace and wisdom before Pherun king of Mitsreen, and he appointed him prince over Mitsreen, and over all his house.
11 ११ मग सर्व मिसर: आणि कनान या देशात दुष्काळ पडून त्यांच्यावर जबर संकट आले आणि आपल्या पूर्वजांना अन्न मिळेनासे झाले.
AND there was a famine and great affliction in all Mitsreen, and in the land of Kenaan, and our fathers had nothing to satisfy them.
And when Jakub heard that there was corn in Mitsreen, he sent forth our fathers before.
And when they had gone the second time, Jauseph made himself known to his brethren, and the family of Jauseph were made known unto Pherun.
14 १४ तेव्हा योसेफाने आपला पिता याकोब व आपले सगळे नातलग, म्हणजे पंचाहत्तर माणसे ह्यांना बोलावून घेतले.
And Jauseph sent and brought his father Jakub and all his family, and they were in number seventy and five souls.
And Jakub went down into Mitsreen and died there; he and our fathers.
16 १६ त्यांना शखेमात नेले आणि जी कबर अब्राहामाने शखेमात हमोराच्या पुत्रांपासून रोख रुपये देऊन विकत घेतली होती तिच्यात त्यांना पुरले.
And he was removed to Shechem, and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought with silver from the B'nai Chamur.
17 १७ मग देवाने अब्राहामाला जे अभिवचन दिले होते ते पूर्ण होण्याचा समय जसजसा जवळ आला, तसतसे ते लोक मिसर देशात वाढून संख्येने पुष्कळ झाले.
And when was come the time of that which Aloha promised with an oath unto Abraham, the people had multiplied and increased in Mitsreen
until another king had arisen over Mitsreen, who knew not Jauseph,
19 १९ हाच राजा आपल्या लोकांबरोबर कपटाने वागला आणि त्यांची बालके जगू नयेत, म्हणून ती बाहेर टाकून देण्यास त्याने त्यांना भाग पाडले असे त्याने आपल्या पूर्वजांना छळले.
and he dealt fraudulently against our kindred, and shamefully entreated our fathers, and commanded that their children should be cast away, that they might not live.
20 २० त्या काळात मोशेचा जन्म झाला, तो देवाच्या दृष्टीने अतिशय सुंदर होता; त्याचे पालनपोषण तीन महिने पर्यंत त्याच्या पित्याच्या घरी झाले.
In that time Musha was born, and was beloved of Aloha, and was brought up three months in the house of his father.
21 २१ मग त्यास बाहेर टाकून देण्यात आले असता, फारोच्या कन्येने त्यास घेउन आपला मुलगा म्हणून त्यास वाढवले.
And when he was outcast from his people, the daughter of Pherun found him, and brought him up unto her for a son.
And Musha was instructed in all the wisdom of the Mitsroyee, and was excellent in words (and) also in deeds.
23 २३ मग तो जवळ जवळ चाळीस वर्षाचा झाला, तेव्हा आपले बांधव म्हणजे इस्राएलाचे संतान ह्यांची भेट घ्यावी असे त्याच्या मनात आले.
And when he became a son of forty years, it arose upon his heart to visit his brethren the sons of Israel.
24 २४ तेव्हा मोशेने इस्राएलातील कोणाएकावर अन्याय होत आहे, असे पाहून या जाचलेल्या मनुष्याचा कैवार घेतला आणि मिसऱ्याला मारून त्याचा सूड घेतला:
And he saw one of the sons of his tribe treated with violence, and he avenged him, and did him justice, and he killed the Mitsroya who had offended him and
25 २५ तेव्हा देव त्याच्या हातून त्याच्या बांधवाची सुटका करत आहे हे त्यांना समजले असेल असे त्यास वाटले होते, पण ते त्यांना समजले नाही.
hoped that his brethren, the sons of Israel, would understand that Aloha by his hand would give them deliverance; but they understood not.
26 २६ मग दुसऱ्या दिवशी कोणी इस्राएली भांडत असता तो त्यांच्यापुढे आला व त्यांचा समेट करू लागला; तो म्हणाला, ‘गृहस्थांनो, तुम्ही बांधव; आहात एकमेकांवर अन्याय का करता?’
And the day after he appeared to them while they strove one with another: and he persuaded them to be pacified, saying, Men, you are brethren; why offend you one the other?
27 २७ तेव्हा जो आपल्या शेजाऱ्यावर अन्याय करत होता, तो त्यास ढकलून देऊन म्हणाला, ‘तुला आमच्यावर अधिकारी व न्यायाधीश कोणी केले?
But he who had offended his neighbour removed himself from him, and said to him, Who appointed thee over us a prince and a judge?
Seekest thou to kill me as thou killedst the Mitsroya yesterday?
And Musha fled at that word, and became a sojourner in the land of Median, and there were to him two sons.
30 ३० मग चाळीस वर्षे भरल्यावर, सीनाय पर्वताच्या रानात एका झुडपातील अग्निज्वालेत एक देवदूत त्याच्या दृष्टीस पडला.
AND when forty years were there fulfilled to him, there appeared to him in the desert of Mount Sinai the angel of the Lord in a flame that burned in a bush.
31 ३१ मग मोशेने अग्निज्वालाचे दृष्य पाहिल्यावर, तो फार आश्चर्यचकित झाला; आणि हे दृष्य पाहण्यासाठी तो जवळ गेला, तेव्हा प्रभूची वाणी झाली की,
And while Musha looked, he wondered at the sight. And as he drew near to gaze, the Lord spake to him with the voice:
32 ३२ ‘मी तुझ्या पूर्वजांचा देव, अब्राहामाचा देव, इसहाकाचा देव, व याकोबाचा देव आहे.’ तेव्हा मोशे थरथर कापला व त्यास तिकडे पाहण्याचे धैर्य झाले नाही.
I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham and of Ishok and of Jakub. And Musha, trembling, dared not look upon the sight.
33 ३३ कारण प्रभूने त्यास म्हटले, ‘तू आपल्या पायातले जोडे काढ, कारण ज्या जागेवर तू उभा आहेस ती पवित्र भूमी आहे.
And the Lord said to him, Loose thy sandals from thy feet: for the ground on which thou standest is holy.
34 ३४ मिसर देशातल्या माझ्या लोकांची विपत्ती मी खरोखर पाहिली आहे; त्यांचे हुंदके मी ऐकले आहेत आणि त्यांना सोडवून घेण्यासाठी मी उतरलो आहे; तर आता चल, मी तुला मिसर देशात पाठवतो.’
Seeing I have seen the affliction of my people who in Mitsreen, and his groaning I have heard, and I have descended that I may deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Mitsreen.
35 ३५ तुला अधिकारी व न्यायाधीश कोणी केले, असे म्हणून, ‘ज्या मोशेला त्यांनी झिडकारले होते?’ त्यालाच झुडपात दर्शन झालेल्या देवदूताच्या हस्ते, देवाने अधिकारी व मुक्तिदाता म्हणून पाठवले.
This Musha whom they denied, when they said, Who appointed thee over us a prince and a judge? this, sent Aloha unto them a prince and a deliverer by the hand of the angel who appeared to him at the bush.
36 ३६ मिसर देशात, तांबड्या समुद्रात, व रानात चाळीस वर्षे अद्भूत कृत्ये करून व चिन्हे दाखवून त्या लोकांस बाहेर नेले.
This brought them out, when he had wrought signs and wonders and mighty deeds in the land of Mitsreen, and at the Sea of Suph, and in the desert forty years.
37 ३७ तोच मोशे इस्राएल लोकांस म्हणाला, ‘देव तुमच्या बांधवामधून, माझ्यासारखा संदेष्टा तुमच्यासाठी उत्पन्न करील.’
THIS is that Musha, who said to the sons of Israel, A Prophet will Aloha the Lord raise up unto you from your brethren, like me; him shall you hear.
38 ३८ रानातील मंडळीमध्ये सीनाय पर्वतावर त्याच्याशी बोलणाऱ्या देवदूताबरोबर आणि आपल्या पूर्वजांबरोबर जो होता तो हाच होय. त्यालाच आपल्याला देण्याकरता जिवंत वचने मिळाली.
This is he who was with the congregation in the desert, with the angel himself who spake with him and with our fathers at the mountain of Sinai; and he it was who received the words of life to give (them) to us.
39 ३९ त्याचे ऐकण्याची आपल्या पूर्वजांची इच्छा नव्हती; तर त्यांनी त्यास धिक्कारले व आपले अंतःकरण मिसर देशाकडे फिरवून.
And our fathers willed not to give heed to him, but left him, and in their hearts turned back to Mitsreen,
40 ४० ते अहरोनाला म्हणाले, ‘आमच्यापुढे चालतील अशा देवता आम्हास करून दे. कारण ज्याने आम्हास मिसर देशातून आणले त्या मोशेचे काय झाले, हे आम्हास कळत नाही.’
saying to Aharun, Make us alohee that may go before us, because this Musha, who brought us forth from the land of Mitsreen, we know not what is become of him.
41 ४१ मग त्या दिवसात त्यांनी वासराची मूर्ती बनवली, व तिच्यापुढे ‘यज्ञ करुन’ आपल्या हातच्या कृतीबद्दल आनंदोत्सव केला.
And he made them the calf in those days, and they sacrificed sacrifices to idols, and were delighted with the work of their hands.
42 ४२ तेव्हा देवाने त्यांच्याकडे पाठ फिरवली आणि त्यांना आकाशातील सेनागणाची पूजा करण्यास सोडून दिले; ह्याविषयी संदेष्ट्यांच्या पुस्तकात लिहीले आहे ‘हे इस्राएलाच्या घराण्या, तुम्ही चाळीस वर्षे अरण्यात बलिदाने व यज्ञ मला केलेत काय?
And Aloha turned, and delivered them up to be worshippers of the hosts of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, Forty years in the desert Victims or sacrifices did you offer to me, Sons of Israel?
43 ४३ मोलखाचा मंडप व रेफान दैवतांचा तारा म्हणजे पुजण्याकरता: तुम्ही ज्या प्रतिमा केल्या त्या तुम्ही उचलून घेतल्या; मीही तुम्हास बाबेलच्या पलिकडे नेऊन ठेवीन.’
But you took up the tabernacle of Malkum, And the star of the god of Raphan, Images you have made to worship them; I will remove you beyond Babel.
44 ४४ तू जो नमुना पाहिलास त्याप्रमाणे साक्षीचा मंडप कर, असे ज्याने मोशेला सांगितले, त्याने नेमल्याप्रमाणे तो मंडप रानात आपल्या पूर्वजांचा होता.
BEHOLD, the tabernacle of testimony of our fathers was in the desert, as He who spake with Musha had commanded to make it after the pattern which he had seen.
45 ४५ जी राष्ट्रे देवाने त्यांच्यासमोरून घालवली, त्यांचा देश आपल्या ताब्यात घेतला, तेव्हा तो मिळालेला मंडप त्यांनी यहोशवाबरोबर त्या देशात आणिला. आणि दाविदाच्या काळापर्यंत परंपरेने तसाच ठेवला.
And this tabernacle also our fathers bringing brought in with Jeshu to the land which Aloha had given to them, an inheritance from those peoples whom he had expelled from before them, and it was carried until the days of David;
46 ४६ दाविदावर देवाची कृपादृष्टी झाली; आणि त्याने याकोबाच्या घराण्यासाठी वस्तीस्थान मिळविण्याची विनंती केली.
who found favour before Aloha, and asked to find a tabernacle for the God of Jakub.
But Shelemun builded the house.
But the Most High dwelleth not in the work of hands, as saith the prophet,
49 ४९ प्रभू म्हणतो, ‘आकाश माझे राजासन आहे, पृथ्वी माझे पादासन आहे. तुम्ही माझ्यासाठी कशा प्रकारचे घर बांधणार? किंवा माझ्या विसाव्याचे स्थान कोणते?
Heaven is my throne, And earth the footstool beneath my feet: What house will you build me? saith the Lord: Or what is the place of my rest?
Hath not my hand made all these?
51 ५१ अहो ताठ मानेच्या आणि हृदयांची व कानांची सुंता न झालेल्या, लोकांनो तुम्ही तर पवित्र आत्म्याला; सर्वदा विरोध करता जसे तुमचे पूर्वज तसेच तुम्हीही.
O, hardened of neck and uncircumcised in your hearts and in your hearing, you at all times against the Spirit of Holiness stand up; as your fathers, so you also.
52 ५२ ज्याचा पाठलाग तुमच्या पूर्वजांनी केला नाही असा संदेष्ट्यांमध्ये कोणी झाला का? ज्यांनी त्या नीतिमान पुरूषाच्या आगमनाविषयी पूर्वी सांगितले त्यांना त्यांनी जिवे मारले; आणि आता त्यास धरून देणारे व जिवे मारणारे तुम्ही निघाला आहात.
For which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted and slain? they who before announced the coming of the Righteous; him whom you delivered up and slew.
53 ५३ अशा तुम्हास देवदूतांच्या योगे योजलेले नियमशास्त्र प्राप्त झाले होते, पण तुम्ही ते पाळले नाही.”
And you have received the law by the precept of angels. and have not kept it.
AND when they heard these they were filled with wrath in themselves, and they gnashed their teeth upon him.
55 ५५ परंतु पवित्र आत्म्याने पूर्ण होऊन त्याने आकाशाकडे निरखून पाहिले, तेव्हा देवाचे तेज व देवाच्या उजवीकडे येशू उभा असलेला त्याच्या दृष्टीस पडला.
And he, being full of faith and of the Spirit of Holiness, looked up to heaven, and saw the glory of Aloha, and Jeshu standing at the right hand of Aloha.
56 ५६ आणि त्याने म्हटले, “पाहा, आकाश उघडलेले व मनुष्याचा पुत्र देवाच्या उजवीकडे उभा असलेला मला दिसत आहे.”
And he said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing at the right hand of Aloha.
And they cried with a high voice, and stopped their ears, and rushed upon him, all of them,
58 ५८ मग ते त्यास शहराबाहेर घालवून दगडमार करू लागले: आणि साक्षीदारांनी आपली वस्त्रे शौल नावाच्या एका तरूणाच्या पायाजवळ ठेवली.
and seizing they brought him out of the city and stoned him. And they who witnessed against him laid their garments before the feet of a certain young man named Shaol.
59 ५९ ते दगडमार करीत असता स्तेफन प्रभूचा धावा करीत म्हणाला, “हे प्रभू येशू, माझ्या आत्म्याचा स्वीकार कर.”
And they stoned Estephanos, (he) praying and saying, Our Lord Jeshu, receive my spirit.
60 ६० मग गुडघे टेकून तो मोठ्याने ओरडला, “हे प्रभू, हे पाप त्यांच्याकडे मोजू नको.” असे बोलून, तो मरण पावला.
And kneeling down, he cried with a high voice, and said, Our Lord, let not this sin arise against them. And when this he had said, he slept.
