प्रेषि. 28
1 १ जेव्हा आमचे पाय सुखरुपपणे तेथील जमीनीला लागले, तेव्हा आम्हास कळले की, त्या बेटाचे नाव मिलिता असे आहे.
And having been saved, we recognized that the island is called Melita.
2 २ तेथील रहिवाश्यांनी आम्हास अतिशय ममतेने वागविले, त्यांनी एक शेकोटी पेटविली आणि आमचे स्वागत केले, कारण पाऊस पडू लागाला होता व थंडीही होती.
And the barbarians extended no small philanthropy to us: for, having kindled a fire, they received us all to it, on account of the recent rain and cold.
3 ३ पौलाने काटक्या गोळा केल्या आणि ते त्या शेकोटीत टाकू लागला, उष्णतेमुळे तेथून एक साप निघाला आणि त्याने पौलाच्या हाताला विळखा घातला.
And Paul having gathered up a certain bundle of sticks, and placed it on the fire, a viper, having come out from the heat, fastened on his hand.
4 ४ ते पाहून तेथील रहिवाशी एकमेकांना म्हणू लागले, “हा मनुष्य खुनी असला पाहिजे, समुद्रातून जरी हा वाचला असला तरी न्यायदेवताही याला जगू देत नाही.”
But when the barbarians saw the beast hanging from his hand, they said to one another, Surely this man is a murderer, whom, having been saved from the sea, justice did not permit to live.
Then indeed, having shaken off the beast into the fire, he suffered no injury:
6 ६ त्या बेटावरील लोकांस पौलाचे अंग सुजून येईल किंवा पौल एकाएकी मरून पडेल असे वाटत होते, बराच वेळ वाट पाहूनही पौलाला काहीही विकार झाल्याचे दिसेना, तेव्हा त्या लोकांचे विचार पालटले आणि पौल देवच आहे असे ते म्हणू लागले.
and they were looking for him to be about to swell up and suddenly fall down dead. But having looked a long time, and seeing nothing out of place come to him, changing their minds, they said that he was a god.
7 ७ तेथून जवळच पुब्ल्य नावाच्या मनुष्याची शेती होती, पुब्ल्य हा त्या बेटाचा मुख्य अधिकारी होता, त्याने आम्हा सर्वांचे त्याच्या घरी स्वागत केले आणि तीन दिवस आमचा चांगला पाहुणचार केला.
But in the regions around about that place there were farms belonging to the chief man of the island, by name Publius: who, having received us, entertained us courteously three days.
8 ८ पुब्ल्याचे वडील तापाने व पोट खराब असल्यामुळे आजारी होते, त्यामुळे अंथरुणाला खिळून होते, पौल त्या आजारी व्यक्तीला भेटायला गेला प्रार्थना करून पौलाने आपला हात त्याच्यावर ठेवला आणि त्या मनुष्यास बरे केले.
And it came to pass, that the father of Publius was lying prostrate with fevers and dysentery: to whom Paul having come in, and prayed, laying hands on him, healed him.
And this taking place, the rest also, on the island having diseases, continued to come to him, and be healed;
10 १० त्यांनी आम्हास सन्मानपूर्वक पुष्कळ वस्तू भेटीदाखल दिल्या आणि जेव्हा आम्ही परत प्रवासास निघालो तेव्हा आम्हास लागणाऱ्या अनेक गोष्टी पुरविल्या.
who also honored us with many honors; and conferred on us, departing, those things appertaining to use.
11 ११ आम्ही तेथे हिवाळ्यात राहिल्यावर आलेक्सांद्रा शहरातील एका जहाजातून पुढील प्रवासास निघालो, ते जहाज त्या बेटावर हिवाळाभर मुक्कामाला होते, त्या जहाजाच्या समोरील बाजूस जुळ्या भावाचे चिन्ह होते.
And after three months we embarked in an Alexandrian ship, having spent the winter in the island, dedicated to the sons of Jupiter.
And having disembarked into Syracuse, we remained three days;
13 १३ तेथून शिडे उभारून आम्ही निघालो आणि रेगियोन नगराला गेलो, तेथे एक दिवस मुक्काम केला, नंतर दक्षिणेकडील वारा सुटल्यावर दुसऱ्या दिवशी पुत्युलास गेलो.
thence having come circuitously, we arrived into Rhegium. And after one day there being a south wind, we came the second day to Puteoli,
14 १४ त्या शहरात आम्हास काही बंधुजन भेटले, त्यांच्या सांगण्यावरून आम्ही तेथे सात दिवस राहिलो, मग आम्ही रोम येथे जाऊन पोहचलो.
where having found brethren, we were entreated to remain with them seven days: and thus we came into Rome.
15 १५ तेथील बंधूनी आमच्याबद्दलची वार्ता ऐकली होती, ते आमच्या भेटीसाठी अप्पियाच्या बाजारपेठेपर्यंत आणि तीन धर्मशाळेपर्यंत आले, पौलाची त्यांची भेट झाल्यावर त्याने देवाचे उपकार मानले व त्यास धीर आला.
And the brethren, hearing the news concerning us, came thence to meet us at the Appian Forum and Three Taverns: whom Paul, seeing, having given thanks to God, took courage.
16 १६ आम्ही रोम येथे पोहोंचल्यावर पौलाला एकटे राहायला परवानगी मिळाली, परंतु त्याच्यावर देखरेख करण्यासाठी एक शिपाई ठेवण्यात आला.
And when we came into Rome, it was permitted to Paul to remain to himself with the soldier guarding him.
17 १७ तीन दिवसानंतर पौलाने सर्व यहूदी पुढाऱ्यांना एकत्र बोलावले, जेव्हा सर्वजण जमा झाले तेव्हा पौल त्यांना म्हणाला, “बंधूंनो, आपल्या बांधवांविरुद्ध मी काहीही केलेले नाही, तरी मला यरूशलेम येथे पकडून रोमी लोकांच्या हाती कैदी म्हणून देण्यात आले.
And it came to pass, after three days, he called together those who were first of the Jews; and they having assembled, he said to them, I, men, brethren, having done nothing against the people, or the customs of our fathers, was committed a prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans;
18 १८ आणि जेव्हा त्यांनी माझी चौकशी केली, तेव्हा त्यांची मला सोडून देण्याची इच्छा होती, कारण मरणदंडाला योग्य असा कोणताही गुन्हा मी केला नव्हता.
who judging me, were counseling to release me, because there was nothing worthy of death in me:
19 १९ परंतु यहूदी लोकांनी जेव्हा माझ्या सुटकेला हरकत घेतली, तेव्हा कैसराकडे न्याय मागणे मला भाग पडले, याचा अर्थ असा नाही की, यहूदी लोकांविरुद्ध मला दोषारोप करण्याची इच्छा आहे.
and the Jews speaking against it, I was compelled to appeal to Caesar, not having anything for which to accuse my nation.
20 २० या कारणासाठी तुम्हास भेटण्याची आणि तुमच्याशी बोलण्याची मी इच्छा दाखविली, कारण इस्राएलाच्या आशेच्या निष्ठेमुळेच मी या साखळ्यांनी जखडलो गेलो आहे.”
Then for this cause I have called you, to see you, and talk to you: for on account of the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.
21 २१ यहूदी पुढारी पौलाला म्हणाले, “आम्हास तुमच्याबाबत यहूदीयाहून कसलेही पत्र आलेले नाही, अगर तिकडून येणाऱ्या बंधुजनांपैकी एकाही भावाने तुमच्याविषयी वाईट कळविले अथवा बोललेले नाही.”
And they said to him, Neither have we received letters from Judea concerning you, neither has any one of the brethren coming, proclaimed or spoken anything evil concerning you.
22 २२ परंतु तुमची मते काय आहेत हे समजून घेण्याची आमची इच्छा आहे, कारण या गटाविरुद्ध सगळीकडे लोक बोलतात हे आम्हास माहीत आहे.
But we desire to hear from you what you think: for indeed concerning this sect, it is known to us that it is everywhere spoken against.
23 २३ तेव्हा यहूदी लोकांनी एक बैठकीचा दिवस ठरवला, जेथे पौल राहत होता, तेथे ते मोठ्या संख्येने जमा झाले, तेव्हा पौलाने त्यांना समजावून सांगितले आणि देवाच्या राज्याविषयी आपली साक्ष दिली, मोशेच्या नियमशास्त्रापासून आणि संदेष्ट्यांच्यापासून फोड करून येशूविषयी त्यांची खात्री पटविण्याचा प्रयत्न केला, हे तो सकाळपासून संध्याकाळपर्यंत करीत होता.
And having appointed a day with him, many came to him into his hired house, to whom witnessing he expounded the kingdom of God, indeed persuading them concerning Jesus, both from the law of Moses, and the prophets, from morning unto evening.
24 २४ त्याने फोड करून सांगितलेल्या गोष्टीविषयी काही जणांची खात्री पटली, तर काहींनी तो बोलत असलेल्या गोष्टीवर विश्वास ठेवला नाही.
And some of them indeed believed the things spoken, but others continued to doubt;
25 २५ पौल पुढील एक गोष्ट बोलला, त्यावरून मतभेद होऊन त्यांच्यापैकी काहीजण उठले आणि तेथून जाऊ लागले, पौल म्हणाला, “यशया संदेष्टयांच्या द्वारे पवित्र आत्मा आपल्या वाडवडिलांशी जे बोलला, ते खरोखरच किती खरे आहे! यशया म्हणाला होता.”
and they being disharmonious to one another, dispersed, Paul saying one word, that truly the Holy Ghost spoke through the prophet Isaiah to your fathers, saying,
26 २६ या लोकांकडे तुम्ही जा आणि त्यांना सांगाः तुम्ही ऐकाल तर खरेपण तुम्हास समजणार नाही, तुम्ही पहाल तुम्हास दिसेल पण तुम्ही काय पाहत ते तुम्हास कळणार नाही.
Go to this people, and say, By hearing ye shall hear, and may not understand; and seeing you shall see, and may not perceive:
27 २७ कारण या लोकांचे अंतःकरण जड झाले आहेत त्याच्या कानांनी त्यांना ऐकू येत नाही आणि त्यांनी आपले डोळे बंद केले आहेत नाही तर त्यांनी आपल्या डोळ्यांनी पाहिले असते आणि आपल्या कानांनी ऐकले असते आणि माझ्याकडे वळले असते आणि मी त्यांना बरे केले असते.
for the heart of this people is waxed gross, and they heard with their ears heavily, and closed their eyes; lest they may see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn, and I shall heal them.
28 २८ म्हणून देवाचे हे तारण परराष्ट्रीयांकडे लोकांकडे पाठविण्यात आले आहे, हे तुम्हा यहूदी लोकांस कळावे, ते ऐकतील.
Therefore let it be known unto you, that this salvation of God is sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear.
30 ३० पूर्ण दोन वर्षे तो त्याच्या भाड्याच्या घरात राहिला, जे त्यास भेटायला येत, त्यांचे तो स्वागत करी.
And he spent a whole biennium in his own hired house, and received all those coming to him,
31 ३१ त्याने देवाच्या राज्याविषयी प्रचार केला, त्याने प्रभू येशूविषयी शिक्षण दिले, तो हे काम फार धैर्याने करीत असे आणि कोणीही त्यास बोलण्यात अडवू शकले नाही.
preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things concerning the Lord Jesus, with all boldness, uninterruptedly.
