2 राजे 8
1 १ अलीशामुळे जो मुलगा जिवंत झाला होता त्या मुलाच्या आईशी अलीशा बोलला. अलीशा म्हणाला, “तू आपल्या कुटुंबियासह दुसऱ्या देशात जा. कारण परमेश्वर या प्रदेशात दुष्काळ पाडणार आहे. आणि तो सात वर्षे चालेल.”
Now Elisha had said to the woman whose son he had restored to life, “Arise, you and your household; go and live as a foreigner wherever you can. For the LORD has decreed a seven-year famine, and it has already come to the land.”
2 २ तेव्हा देवाच्या मनुष्याच्या म्हणण्याप्रमाणे तिने केले. पलिष्ट्यांच्या देशात ती आपल्या कुटुंबियांसमावेत जाऊन सात वर्षे राहिली.
So the woman had proceeded to do as the man of God had instructed. And she and her household lived as foreigners for seven years in the land of the Philistines.
3 ३ सात वर्षे उलटल्यावर ती पलिष्ट्यांच्या देशातून परत आली. मग ती राजाला भेटायला निघाली. आपले घरदार आणि जमीन आपल्याला पुन्हा परत मिळावी यासाठी तिला राजाची मदत हवी होती.
At the end of seven years, when the woman returned from the land of the Philistines, she went to the king to appeal for her house and her land.
4 ४ अलीशा संदेष्ट्याचा सेवक गेहजी याच्याशी राजा बोलत बसला होता. राजा गेहजीला म्हणाला, “अलीशाने जी मोठमोठी कृत्ये केली ती कृपाकरून मला सांग.”
Now the king had been speaking to Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, “Please relate to me all the great things Elisha has done.”
5 ५ अलीशाने एका मृताला पुन्हा जिवंत कसे केले याविषयी गेहजी राजाला सांगत असतानाच जिच्या मुलाला अलीशाने जिवंत केले होते ती स्त्री राजासमोर आली. आपली जमीन आणि घर परत मिळावे यासाठी राजाची मदत मागायला ती आली होती. गेहजी म्हणाला, “स्वामी, हीच ती स्त्री आणि अलीशाने जीवदान दिले तो हाच मुलगा.”
And Gehazi was telling the king how Elisha had brought the dead back to life. Just then the woman whose son Elisha had revived came to appeal to the king for her house and her land. So Gehazi said, “My lord the king, this is the woman, and this is the son Elisha restored to life.”
6 ६ राजाने त्या स्त्रीची विचारपूस केली आणि ती राजाशी बोलली. राजाने मग एका कारभाऱ्याला तिच्या मदतीला दिले आणि सांगितले, “तिच्या मालकीचे आहे ते सर्व तिला परत द्या. तसेच, ती हा देश सोडून गेली तेव्हापासून आतापर्यंतचे तिच्या शेतातले उत्पन्न तिला द्या.”
When the king asked the woman, she confirmed it. So the king appointed for her an officer, saying, “Restore all that was hers, along with all the proceeds of the field from the day that she left the country until now.”
7 ७ अलीशा दिमिष्क येथे गेला. अरामाचा राजा बेन-हदाद तेव्हा आजारी होता. एकाने त्यास सांगितले, “आपल्या इथे एक देवाचा मनुष्य आला आहे.”
Then Elisha came to Damascus while Ben-hadad king of Aram was sick, and the king was told, “The man of God has come here.”
8 ८ तेव्हा राजा बेन-हदाद हजाएलला म्हणाला, “नजराणा घेऊन त्या संदेष्ट्याच्या भेटीला जा. मी या दुखण्यातून बरा होईन की नाही ते परमेश्वरास विचारायला त्यास सांग.”
So the king said to Hazael, “Take a gift in your hand, go to meet the man of God, and inquire of the LORD through him, ‘Will I recover from this illness?’”
9 ९ तेव्हा हजाएल अलीशाच्या भेटीला गेला. दिमिष्कातील उत्तमोत्तम पदार्थाचा नजराणा तो अलीशासाठी घेऊन गेला. या गोष्टी त्याने चाळीस उंटांवर लादल्या होत्या. हजाएल अलीशाकडे जाऊन म्हणाला, “तुमचा शिष्य अरामाचा राजा बेन-हदाद याने मला तुमच्याकडे पाठवले आहे. या दुखण्यातून आराम पडेल का असे त्यांनी विचारले आहे.”
So Hazael went to meet Elisha, taking with him a gift of forty camel loads of every good thing from Damascus. And he went in and stood before him and said, “Your son Ben-hadad king of Aram has sent me to ask, ‘Will I recover from this illness?’”
10 १० तेव्हा अलीशा हजाएलला म्हणाला, “बेन-हदादला जाऊन सांग, ‘तू खात्रीने बरा होशील.’ पण तो मरणार आहे असे खरे म्हणजे परमेश्वराने मला सांगितले आहे.”
Elisha answered, “Go and tell him, ‘You will surely recover.’ But the LORD has shown me that in fact he will die.”
11 ११ एवढे बोलून मग देवाच्या मनुष्याने, हजाएलास लाज वाटेपर्यंत त्याच्याकडे टक लावून पाहिले. नंतर अलीशा रडू लागला.
Elisha fixed his gaze steadily on him until Hazael became uncomfortable. Then the man of God began to weep.
12 १२ हजाएलने त्यास विचारले, “माझ्या स्वामी, तुम्ही का रडत आहात?” अलीशाने सांगितले, “इस्राएलवर तू अत्याचार करणार आहेस हे मला माहित आहे म्हणून मला वाईट वाटते. त्यांची मजबूत नगरे तू जाळशील. आपल्या तलवारीने त्यांची तरुण माणसे कापून काढशील. त्यांच्या लहान मुलांना ठार करशील त्यांच्या गरोदर बायकांना चिरशील.”
“Why is my lord weeping?” asked Hazael. “Because I know the evil you will do to the Israelites,” Elisha replied. “You will set fire to their fortresses, kill their young men with the sword, dash their little ones to pieces, and rip open their pregnant women.”
13 १३ हजाएल म्हणाला, “मी पडलो कुत्र्यासारखा क्षुद्र मनुष्य एक दुबळामनुष्य या मोठ्या गोष्टी मी कसल्या करणार!” अलीशा म्हणाला, “तू अरामाचा राजा होणार असे परमेश्वराने मला सांगितले आहे.”
“But how could your servant, a mere dog, do such a monstrous thing?” said Hazael. And Elisha answered, “The LORD has shown me that you will be king over Aram.”
14 १४ मग हजाएल तिथून निघाला आणि आपल्या धन्याकडे आला. बेन-हदाद हजाएलला म्हणाला, “अलीशा तुला काय म्हणाला?” हजाएल म्हणाला, “तुम्ही जगणार आहात असे अलीशाने मला सांगितले.”
So Hazael left Elisha and went to his master, who asked him, “What did Elisha say to you?” And he replied, “He told me that you would surely recover.”
15 १५ पण दुसऱ्या दिवशी हजाएलने एक रजई घेतली आणि पाण्यात ती भिजवली मग ती बेनहदादच्या तोंडावर टाकली. त्याने बेन-हदाद गुदमरला आणि मरण पावला. अशा प्रकारे हजाएल नवा राजा झाला.
But the next day Hazael took a thick cloth, dipped it in water, and spread it over the king’s face. So Ben-hadad died, and Hazael reigned in his place.
16 १६ यहोशाफाटाचा मुलगा यहोराम यहूदाचा राजा होता. इस्राएलचा राजा अहाब याचा मुलगा योराम याच्या कारकिर्दीचे पाचवे वर्ष चालू असताना यहोराम इस्राएलच्या राज्यावर आला.
In the fifth year of the reign of Joram son of Ahab over Israel, Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat succeeded his father as king of Judah.
Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years.
18 १८ पण इस्राएलच्या इतर राजाप्रमाणेच यहोराम वागला. परमेश्वराच्या दृष्टीने गैर अशी कृत्ये त्याने केली. अहाबाच्या घरचे लोक वागत तसाच तो वागला. त्याची पत्नी अहाबाची मुलगी होती.
And Jehoram walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab had done. For he married a daughter of Ahab and did evil in the sight of the LORD.
19 १९ पण परमेश्वराने आपला सेवक दावीद याला वचन दिलेले असल्यामुळे परमेश्वराने यहूद्यांचा नाश केला नाही. दाविदाच्या वंशातीलच कोणीतरी सतत गादीवर येईल असे वचन परमेश्वराने दाविदाला दिले होते.
Yet for the sake of His servant David, the LORD was unwilling to destroy Judah, since He had promised to maintain a lamp for David and his descendants forever.
20 २० यहोरामाच्या कारकिर्दीत अदोम फितूरी करून यहूदापासून वेगळा झाला. अदोमी लोकांनी स्वत: च राजाची निवड केली.
In the days of Jehoram, Edom rebelled against the hand of Judah and appointed their own king.
21 २१ तेव्हा यहोराम आपले सर्व रथ व अधिकाऱ्यास घेऊन साईर येथे गेला. अदोमी सैन्याने त्यास वेढा घातला. यहोराम आणि त्याच्या बरोबरचे लोक यांनी त्यांच्यावर हल्ला चढवला आणि आपली सुटका केली. यहोरामाचे लोक पळाले आणि घरी परतले.
So Jehoram crossed over to Zair with all his chariots. When the Edomites surrounded him and his chariot commanders, he rose up and attacked by night. His troops, however, fled to their homes.
22 २२ अशाप्रकारे अदोमी यहूदाच्या सत्तेपासून वेगळे झाले आणि अजूनही ते तसेच मुक्त आहेत. सुमारास लिब्नानेही बंड केले आणि यहूदापासून ते मुक्त झाले.
So to this day Edom has been in rebellion against the hand of Judah. Likewise, Libnah rebelled at the same time.
As for the rest of the acts of Jehoram, along with all his accomplishments, are they not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
24 २४ यहोराम मरण पावला आणि दावीद नगरात आपल्या पूर्वजांसोबत त्याचे दफन झाले. यहोरामाचा मुलगा अहज्या मग राज्य करु लागला.
And Jehoram rested with his fathers and was buried with them in the City of David. And his son Ahaziah reigned in his place.
25 २५ इस्राएलचा राजा अहाब याचा मुलगा योराम याच्या कारकिर्दीच्या बाराव्या वर्षी यहोरामाचा मुलगा अहज्या यहूदाचा राजा झाला.
In the twelfth year of the reign of Joram son of Ahab over Israel, Ahaziah son of Jehoram became king of Judah.
26 २६ त्यावेळी अहज्या बावीस वर्षाचा होता. त्याने यरूशलेमेमध्ये एक वर्ष राज्य केले. त्याच्या आईचे नाव अथल्या. इस्राएलचा राजा अम्री याची ती मुलगी.
Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem one year. His mother’s name was Athaliah, the granddaughter of Omri king of Israel.
27 २७ परमेश्वराने जे करु नये म्हणून सांगितले ते ते अहज्याने केले. तो अहाबाचा जावई होता. त्यामुळे अहाबाच्या घराण्यातल्या लोकांसारखीच त्याची वागणूक होती.
And Ahaziah walked in the ways of the house of Ahab and did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab, for he was a son-in-law of the house of Ahab.
28 २८ अहाबाचा मुलगा योराम यासह अहज्या रामोथ-गिलाद येथे अरामाचा राजा हजाएल याच्यावर चढाई करून गेला. अराम्यांनी योथामाला जखमी केले.
Then Ahaziah went with Joram son of Ahab to fight against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth-gilead, and the Arameans wounded Joram.
29 २९ आणि रामा येथे योरामाचा राजा हा अरामाचा राजा हजाएल याच्याशी लढत होता, तेव्हा झालेल्या दुखापतीतून बरे होण्यासाठी तो परत इज्रेलास गेला. आणि त्यास भेटायला यहूदाचा राजा यहोराम याचा मुलगा अहज्या खाली इज्रेलला अहाबाचा मुलगा योराम ह्याला पाहायला गेला होता.
So King Joram returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds that the Arameans had inflicted on him at Ramah when he fought against Hazael king of Aram. Then Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to Jezreel to visit Joram son of Ahab, because Joram had been wounded.
