1 १ यहूदाचा राजा आहाज याच्या बाराव्या वर्षी एलाचा मुलगा होशे शोमरोनांत इस्राएलवर राज्य करु लागला. त्याने नऊ वर्षे राज्य केले.

23 २३ अखेर परमेश्वराने आपले सर्व सेवक जे भविष्यवादी होते त्यांच्या द्वारे सांगितल्याप्रमाणे इस्राएलास आपल्या समोरून घालवले. त्यांना त्यांच्या प्रदेशातून काढून अश्शूरमध्ये नेण्यात आले. आजपर्यंत ते तेथे आहेत.

41 ४१ आता ती इतर राष्ट्रे परमेश्वराचा आदर ठेवतात पण स्वत: च्या देवतांच्या मूर्तीचीही पूजा करतात. त्यांची मुलेबाळे, नातवंडे आपल्या पूर्वजांचेच अनुकरण करत राहिली. ती आजतागायत तशीच वागत आहेत.
