२ करि. 10
1 १ पण जो मी, पौल, तुमच्याबरोबर असताना तुमच्याशी लीनपणे वागतो पण दूर असताना तुमच्याबरोबर कडकपणे वागतो. तो मी तुम्हास ख्रिस्ताच्या सौम्यतेने व नम्रतेने विनंती करतो.
Now I, the same Paul, who, when present among you, am timid, but when absent, am bold toward you, entreat you, by the mildness and gentleness of Christ;
2 २ माझे मागणे असे आहे, आम्ही देहाला अनुसरून चालतो असा आमच्याविषयी जे विचार करतात, त्यांच्याबरोबर कडकपणे बोलण्याचा मी ज्या विश्वासाने विचार करीत आहे त्याप्रमाणे मला त्यांच्याविरुद्ध कडक होण्याची गरज पडू नये.
I, indeed, beseech you, that I may not, when present, be bold with that confidence with which I think I shall be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh,
4 ४ कारण आमच्या लढाईची शस्त्रे दैहिक नाहीत, तर देवासाठी तटबंदी नाश करण्यास ती समर्थ आहेत. चुकीच्या वादविवादातून काहीच निष्पन्न होत नाही.
(for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty, through God, for the overthrowing of strongholds, )
5 ५ तर्कवितर्क व देवविषयक ज्ञानाविरूद्ध उंच उभारलेले असे सर्वकाही पाडून टाकून आम्ही प्रत्येक विचार अंकित करून तिला ख्रिस्ता पुढे मान झुकवण्यास लावतो.
overthrowing reasonings and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and leading captive every thought to the obedience of the Christ,
and being ready to take vengeance on all disobedience, when your obedience shall have been fully established.
7 ७ डोळ्यांपुढे आहे ते पाहा; आपण ख्रिस्ताचे आहोत असा जर कोणाला स्वतःविषयी विश्वास असेल तर त्याने आमच्याविषयी स्वतःशी विचार करावा की, जसे आपण ख्रिस्ताचे आहोत तसे तेही ख्रिस्ताचे आहोत.
Do you look on things according to the outward appearance? If any one trusts in himself, that he is Christ’s, let him again reason thus of himself: that as he is Christ’s, so also are we.
8 ८ कारण, प्रभूने आम्हास जो अधिकार दिलेला आहे, तो तुमची उन्नती व्हावी म्हणून दिलेला आहे, तुमचा नाश करण्यास दिलेला नाही, त्याचा मी अधिक अभिमान मिरवल्यास मला लाज वाटणार नाही;
For though I should boast even, somewhat more abundantly of our authority, which the Lord has given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I would not be ashamed:
that I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters.
10 १० कारण ते म्हणतात की, “त्यांची पत्रे गंभीर व जोरदार असतात, पण तो शरीराने अशक्त आहे आणि त्याचे बोलणे ऐकण्याच्या लायकीचे नसते.”
For his letters, says one, are weighty and powerful, but his bodily presence is weak, and his style of speech contemptible.
11 ११ अशा लोकांनी हे समजून घ्यावे की, आम्ही जसे दूर असताना आमच्या पत्रांतील बोलण्यात असतो, तसे आम्ही जवळ असताना कृतीत असतो.
Let such a one conclude thus―that such as we are in word, by letters, while absent, such also will we be in deed, when present.
12 १२ जे कित्येक स्वतःची प्रशंसा करतात, त्यांच्याबरोबर आम्ही आपणांस समजायला किंवा त्यांच्याशी आपली तुलना करायचे धाडस करीत नाही, ते तर स्वतःस स्वतःकडूनच मोजत असता व स्वतःची स्वतःबरोबरच तुलना करीत असतात हा शहाणपणा नाही.
For we do not presume to rank or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves: but they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, have no understanding.
13 १३ आम्ही आमच्या मर्यादेबाहेर अभिमान मिरवणार नाही; तर देवाने आम्हास लावून दिलेल्या आमच्या मर्यादेच्या आतच मिरवू, ती मर्यादा तुमच्यापर्यंत येऊन पोहोचली आहे.
But we will not boast ourselves with respect to regions not measured to us; but according to the measure of the line which God, who measures, has appointed for us to reach even to you.
14 १४ कारण जणू आम्ही तुमच्यापर्यंत पोहोचलो नव्हतो, अशाप्रकारे आम्ही मर्यादेबाहेर जात नाही कारण आम्ही ख्रिस्ताचे शुभवर्तमान गाजवीत तुमच्यापर्यंत प्रथम पोहचलोच आहोत.
For we do not stretch ourselves too far, as if we did not come to you: for even as far as to you, have we already come in the gospel of the Christ,
15 १५ आम्ही मर्यादा सोडून दुसर्‍यांच्या कामात अभिमान मिरवीत नाही; पण आम्हास आशा आहे की, जसा तुमचा विश्वास वाढेल तसा, आमच्या कामाच्या मर्यादेचे प्रमाण अधिक पसरत जाईल.
not boasting ourselves in the labors of others in regions not measured off to us, but having hope that, when your faith is increased, we shall be magnified among you abundantly, according to our line,
16 १६ म्हणजे, दुसर्‍यांच्या कार्यक्षेत्रात आधीच करण्यात आलेल्या कामाचा अभिमान न मिरवता, आम्ही तुमच्या पलीकडील प्रांतांत शुभवर्तमान सांगावे.
so as to preach the gospel in regions beyond you, and not to boast in regions made ready under another man’s line.
But let him that boasts, boast in the Lord:
for he that commends himself is not approved; but he whom the Lord commends.
