2 इतिहास 31
1 १ अशा तऱ्हेने वल्हांडणाच्या उत्सवाची समाप्ती झाली. यरूशलेमेमध्ये त्यासाठी जमलेले इस्राएल लोक यहूदात आपापल्या गावी परतले. तिथे गेल्यावर त्यांनी दैवतांच्या दगडी मूर्ती फोडून टाकल्या. या परकीय दैवतांची पूजा होत असे. अशेराच्या मुर्तीही त्यांनी उखडून टाकल्या. यहूदा आणि बन्यामीन प्रांतातील सर्व उंचस्थाने आणि वेद्या त्यांनी उद्ध्वस्त केल्या. एफ्राइम आणि मनश्शे या प्रदेशातील लोकांनीही तेच केले. इतर देवतांच्या प्रार्थनेसाठी बनवण्यात आलेल्या सगळ्या गोष्टींचा त्यांनी नाश केला. व तेव्हाच सर्व इस्राएल लोक घरोघरी गेले.
Now when all this was finished, all Israel that were present went out to the cities of Judah, and broke in pieces the pillars, and hewed down the Asherim, and broke down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, also in Ephraim and Manasseh, until they had destroyed them all. Then all the sons of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.
2 २ लेव्याची आणि याजकांची अनेक गटामध्ये विभागणी केलेली होती. त्यापैकी प्रत्येक गटाला आपआपले विशेष कामकाज नेमून दिलेले होते. राजा हिज्कीयाने त्या सर्वांना आपला कारभार हाती घ्यायला सांगितले. होमार्पणे व शांत्यर्पणे वाहणे हे लेवीचे व याजकांचे नेमलेले काम होते. तसेच मंदिराच्या प्रवेशद्वाराजवळ परमेश्वराची स्तुतिस्तोत्रे म्हणणे व परमेश्वराच्या मंदिरात सेवा करणे हे ही त्यांचे काम होते.
And Hezekiah appointed the divisions of the priests and the Levites after their divisions, every man according to his service, both the priests and the Levites, for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the camp of Jehovah.
3 ३ यज्ञात अर्पण करण्यासाठी म्हणून हिज्कीयाने आपल्या पशुधनातील काही पशू दिले. सकाळ संध्याकाळच्या होमार्पणा खातर त्यांचा उपयोग करण्यात आला. शब्बाथ, चंद्रदर्शने व इतर उत्सव कार्ये या दिवशीही होमार्पणे होत असत. हे परमेश्वराच्या नियमशास्त्रात लिहीले आहे.
Also he appointed the king's portion of his substance for the burnt offerings, namely, for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings for the sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the set feasts, as it is written in the law of Jehovah.
4 ४ आपल्या उत्पन्नातील ठराविक हिस्सा लोकांस लेवी व याजक यांना द्यावा लागत असे, तो त्यांनी द्यावा अशी यरूशलेमेतील लोकांसाठी आज्ञा राजा हिज्कीयाने केली. त्यामुळे नियतकार्य निर्वेधपणे परमेश्वराच्या नियमशास्त्रानुसार करणे याजकांना व लेवींना शक्य झाले.
Moreover he commanded the people who dwelt in Jerusalem to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, that they might give themselves to the law of Jehovah.
5 ५ ही आज्ञा सर्व प्रजेच्या कानी गेली. त्याबरोबर इस्राएल लोकांनी आपले धान्याचे पीक, द्राक्ष, तेल, मध आणि इतर बागायती उत्पन्न या सगळ्याचा एक दशांश भाग आणून दिला.
And as soon as the commandment came abroad, the sons of Israel gave in abundance the first-fruits of grain, new wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field. And they brought in the tithe of all things abundantly.
6 ६ यहूदातील नगरवासी इस्राएली व यहूदी लोकांनीही आपली गुरे आणि शेळ्यामेंढ्या यांचा दहावा हिस्सा जमा केला. परमेश्वराकरिता आखून दिलेल्या जागेत धान्याच्याही राशी त्यांनी आणून ओतल्या. त्यांनी या सर्व वस्तूंचे ढीग रचले.
And the sons of Israel and Judah, who dwelt in the cities of Judah, they also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the tithe of dedicated things which were consecrated to Jehovah their God, and laid them by heaps.
7 ७ लोकांनी या सर्व वस्तू आणून टाकायला तिसऱ्या महिन्यात सुरुवात केली आणि सातव्या महिन्यात हे काम संपले.
In the third month they began to lay the foundation of the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month.
8 ८ राजा हिज्कीया आणि इतर सरदार यांनी जेव्हा या राशी पाहिल्या तेव्हा त्यांनी परमेश्वरास आणि इस्राएलाच्या प्रजेला धन्यवाद दिले.
And when Hezekiah and the rulers came and saw the heaps, they blessed Jehovah, and his people Israel.
Then Hezekiah questioned the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps.
10 १० तेव्हा सादोकाचा घराण्यातला मुख्य याजक अजऱ्या हिज्कीयाला म्हणाला की, “लोक परमेश्वराच्या मंदिरात धान्य व या सगळ्या गोष्टी अर्पण करायला लागल्यापासून आम्हास पोटभर खायला मिळू लागले आहे. अगदी तृप्त होईपर्यंत खाऊनही एवढे उरले आहे. परमेश्वराने आपल्या लोकांस आशीर्वाद दिला आहे, म्हणून तर इतके शिल्लक राहीले आहे.”
And Azariah the chief priest, of the house of Zadok, answered him and said, Since they began to bring the oblations into the house of Jehovah, we have eaten and had enough, and have plenty left. For Jehovah has blessed his people, and that which is left is this great store.
11 ११ हिज्कीयाने मग याजकांना परमेश्वराच्या मंदिरात कोठारे तयार ठेवायला सांगितली. त्याची आज्ञा अंमलात आणली गेली.
Then Hezekiah commanded to prepare chambers in the house of Jehovah, and they prepared them.
12 १२ याजकांनी परमेश्वरासाठी अर्पण केलेल्या वस्तू धान्याचा अथवा पशूंचा दहावा हिस्सा, इतर काही वाहिलेल्या गोष्टी आत आणल्या आणि मंदिरातील कोठारात जमा केल्या. कोनन्या लेवी हा या भांडारावरचा प्रमुख अधिकारी होता. शिमी त्याच्या हाताखाली होता. शिमी कोनन्याचा भाऊ होता.
And they brought in the oblations and the tithes and the dedicated things faithfully. And Conaniah the Levite was ruler over them, and Shimei his brother was second.
13 १३ यहीएल, अजज्या, नहथ, असाएल, यरीमोथ, योजाबाद, अलीएल, इस्मख्या, महथ व बनाया यांच्यावर कोनन्या आणि शिमी या दोन भावांची देखरेख होती. राजा हिज्कीया आणि देवाच्या मंदिराचा प्रमुख अधिकारी अजऱ्या यांनी या मनुष्यांची निवड केली.
And Jehiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, were overseers under the hand of Conaniah and Shimei his brother, by the appointment of Hezekiah the king, and Azariah the ruler of the house of God.
14 १४ लोकांनी देवाला स्वखुशीने अर्पण केलेल्या सगळ्या गोष्टींवर कोरेची देखरेख होती. परमेश्वरास वाहिलेल्या या गोष्टींचे वाटप करण्याची जबाबदारी त्याच्यावर होती. तसेच परमेश्वरास आलेल्या पवित्र भेटवस्तूंची वाटणी करण्याचेही काम त्याचेच होते. कोरे पूर्वेकडच्या प्रवेशद्वाराचा द्वारपाल होता. त्याच्या पित्याचे नाव इम्नाना लेवी.
And Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, the porter at the east gate, was over the freewill offerings of God, to distribute the oblations of Jehovah, and the most holy things.
15 १५ एदेन, मिन्यामीन, येशूवा, शमाया, अमऱ्या व शखन्या हे कोरेचे मदतनीस होते. याजक राहत त्या नगरात ते निष्ठेने आपली सेवा रुजू करत. याजकांच्या प्रत्येक गटांमधील आपापल्या भाऊबंदांना त्यांच्या वाटणीचा हिस्सा देत. हे वाटप करताना ते लहान मोठा अशा सर्वांनाच सारखाच भाग देत असत.
And under him were Eden, and Miniamin, and Jeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, in their office of trust, to give to their brothers by divisions, as well to the great as to the small,
16 १६ लेवी घराण्याच्या इतिहासात ज्यांची नावे नोंदलेली होती असे, तीन वर्षे किंवा त्यापेक्षा जास्त वयाचे जे लेवी पुरुष परमेश्वरच्या मंदिरात नेमून दिलेल्या दैनंदिन कामासाठी जात त्यांना त्यांची वाटणी हे मदतनीस देत. अशा प्रकारे लेवीच्या प्रत्येक गटाला काम नेमून दिलेले होते.
besides those who were reckoned by genealogy of males, from three years old and upward, even everyone that entered into the house of Jehovah, as the duty of every day required, for their service in their offices according to their divisions,
17 १७ याजकांना त्यांच्या वाटणीचा हिस्सा मिळत असे. ज्या लेवीची आपापल्या पितृकुळाप्रमाणे नोंद झाली होती त्यांना आणि किमान वीस वर्षे किंवा त्यापेक्षा वयाने मोठ्या असलेल्या लेवींना त्यांची वाटणी मिळत असे. त्यांच्यावरील जबाबदारीचे स्वरूप आणि त्यांचा गट यावर त्याचे प्रमाण ठरत. असे.
and those who were reckoned by genealogy of the priests by their fathers' houses, and the Levites from twenty years old and upward, in their offices by their divisions,
18 १८ ज्या लेवीची वंशावळ्यांमध्ये नोंद झालेली होती त्या सर्वांच्या अपत्यांना, पत्नींना पुत्र व कन्या यांनाही आपापला हिस्सा मिळे. परमेश्वराच्या सेवेसाठी ते नेहमीच पवित्र होऊन तप्तर असत म्हणून त्यांना हे दिले जाई.
and those who were reckoned by genealogy of all their little ones, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, through all the congregation. For in their office of trust they sanctified themselves in holiness.
19 १९ अहरोन वंशातील काही याजकांची लेवी राहत असत त्या गावांमध्ये शेत-शिवारे होती. काही अहरोनाचे वंशज नगरांमध्येही राहत होते. तेव्हा त्या नगरातील मनुष्यांची नावानिशी निवड करून त्यांना आपल्या उत्पन्नातला वाटा या अहरोन वंशजांना द्यायला निवडले होते. वंशावळीत नोंदवलेले सर्वजण आणि पुरुष लेवी यांना हा वाटा मिळे.
Also for the sons of Aaron the priests, who were in the fields of the suburbs of their cities, in every city, there were men who were mentioned by name, to give portions to all the males among the priests, and to all who were reckoned by genealogy among the Levites.
20 २० राजा हिज्कीयाने अशाप्रकारे यहूदात चांगली कामगिरी केली. परमेश्वर देवाच्या दृष्टीने जे योग्य, बरोबर आणि सत्य ते त्याने केले.
And thus Hezekiah did throughout all Judah. And he wrought that which was good and right and faithful before Jehovah his God.
21 २१ हाती घेतलेल्या प्रत्येक कामात त्यास यश आले, उदाहरणार्थ, देवाच्या मंदिरातील उपासना, नियमशास्त्राचे पालन, परमेश्वरास शरण जाणे. हिज्कीयाने हे सर्व मनापासून केले त्यास यश लाभले.
And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.
