1 १ यरूशलेम येथील मोरिया डोंगरावर शलमोनाने परमेश्वराचे मंदिर बांधायला सुरुवात केली. शलमोनाचे पिता दावीद यांना परमेश्वराने याच मोरिया डोंगरावर दर्शन दिले होते. दावीदाने योजनापुर्वक तयार करून ठेवलेल्या जागेवर शलमोनाने मंदिर बांधले. ही जागा म्हणजे अर्णान यबूसीचे खळे होय!
Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the LORD appeared unto David his father; for which provision had been made in the Place of David, in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.
2 २ आपल्या कारकिर्दीच्या चौथ्या वर्षातल्या दुसऱ्या महिन्याच्या दुसऱ्या दिवशी शलमोनाने कामाला सुरुवात केली.
And he began to build in the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.
3 ३ शलमोनाने बांधायला घेतलेल्या परमेश्वराच्या मंदिराच्या पायाची मोजमापे अशी: हा पाया साठ हात लांब आणि वीस हात रुंद होता. तेव्हा प्रचलित असलेले जुने क्युबिट परिमाण त्याने वापरले होते.
Now these are the foundations which Solomon laid for the building of the house of God. The length by cubits after the ancient measure was threescore cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.
4 ४ मंदिराच्या समोरील द्वारमंडपाची लांबी वीस हाथ असून ह्याच्या रूंदीशी जुळणारी होती. त्याची उंची देखील विस हाथ होती. त्याची आतील बाजू शलमोनाने शुद्ध सोन्याने मढवली होती.
And the porch that was before the house, the length of it, according to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and the height a hundred and twenty; and he overlaid it within with pure gold.
5 ५ मंदिरातील मुख्य दालनाच्या छतास त्याने देवदारुच्या फळ्या बसवल्या. त्यावर शलमोनाने सोन्याचा पत्रा चढवला आणि त्यावर खजुरीची झाडे व साखळ्या कोरुन काढल्या
And the greater house he covered with cypress-wood, which he overlaid with fine gold, and wrought thereon palm-trees and chains.
6 ६ मौल्यवान रत्ने जडवून त्याने मंदिराच्या सौंदर्यात भर घातली यामध्ये उपयोगात आणलेले सोने पर्वाइमचे होते.
And he garnished the house with precious stones for beauty; and the gold was gold of Parvaim.
7 ७ मंदीराच्या तुळया, दाराचे खांब, भिंती, दरवाजे हे मंदिराचे आतले भागही शलमोनाने सोन्याने मढवले. भिंतींवर त्याने करुब कोरले.
He overlaid also the house, the beams, the thresholds, and the walls thereof, and the doors thereof, with gold; and graved cherubim on the walls.
8 ८ यानंतर शलमोनाने मंदिरातला अत्यंत पवित्र गाभारा बांधला. हे अत्यंत पवित्रस्थान वीस हात लांब आणि वीस हात रुंद होते. मंदिराइतकीच त्याची रुंदी होती. गाभाऱ्याच्या भिंतीही शलमोनाने सोन्याने मढवल्या. हे एकंदर सहाशे किक्कार सोने होते.
And he made the most holy place; the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits; and he overlaid it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents.
9 ९ सोन्याच्या खिळ्यांचे वजन पन्नास शेकेल एवढे होते. वरच्या मजल्यावरची दालने ही शलमोनाने सोन्याने मढवली.
And the weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold.
10 १० अत्यंत पवित्र गाभाऱ्यात बसवण्यासाठी शलमोनाने दोन करुब घडवले. हे करुबही कारागिरांनी सोन्याने मढवले.
And in the most holy place he made two cherubim of image work; and they overlaid them with gold.
11 ११ करुबांच्या एकेका पंखाची लांबी पाच हात होती. त्यांची एकंदर लांबी वीस हात एवढी होती. पाहिल्या करुबाचा पाच हात लांबीचा एक पंख दालनाच्या एका बाजूच्या भिंतीला स्पर्श करत होता तर दुसरा पाच हात लांबीचा पंख दुसऱ्या करुबाच्या एका पंखाला.
And the wings of the cherubim were twenty cubits long: the wing of the one cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing was likewise five cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub.
And the wing of the other cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing was five cubits also, joining to the wing of the other cherub.
13 १३ अशाप्रकारे करुबांच्या पंखानी वीस हात एवढे अंतर व्यापलेले होते. हे करुब पवित्र गाभाऱ्याकडे तोंड करून उभे होते.
The wings of these cherubim spread themselves forth twenty cubits; and they stood on their feet, and their faces were inward.
14 १४ निळ्या, जांभळ्या व किरमिजी रंगाच्या लोकरीचा व तलम सुताचा पडदा करून घेऊन शलमोनाने त्यावरही करुब करवून घेतले.
And he made the veil of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and wrought cherubim thereon.
15 १५ मंदिरासमोर शलमोनाने दोन स्तंभ उभारले. प्रत्येक स्तंभ पस्तीस हात उंच होते. त्यांच्यावरचे कळस प्रत्येकी पाच हात उंचीचे होते.
Also he made before the house two pillars of thirty and five cubits high, and the capital that was on the top of each of them was five cubits.
16 १६ शलमोनाने साखळ्या करून त्या कळसांवर ठेवल्या. या साखळ्यांना त्याने कलाकुसर म्हणून शंभर सुशोभित डाळिंबे लावली.
And he made chains in the Sanctuary, and put them on the tops of the pillars; and he made a hundred pomegranates, and put them on the chains.
17 १७ हे स्तंभ मंदिरासमोर डाव्याउजव्या हाताला उभे केले. उजव्या बाजूच्या खांबाला शलमोनाने याखीम (संस्थापक) आणि डावीकडच्या खांबाला बवाज (सामर्थ्यवान) अशी नावे दिली.
And he set up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.
