1 शमुवेल 3
1 १ शमुवेल बाळ एलीच्या हाताखाली देवाची सेवा करीत होता. परमेश्वराचे वचन त्या दिवसात दुर्मिळ झाले होते; वारंवार भविष्यसूचक दृष्टांत होत नव्हते.
And the child Samuel ministered to the Lord before Heli the priest: and the word of the Lord was precious in those days, there was no distinct vision.
2 २ त्या वेळेस असे झाले की, एली आपल्या ठिकाणी झोपला होता, आणि त्याची दृष्टी मंद झाल्यामुळे त्यास डोळ्यांनी चांगले दिसत नव्हते;
And it came to pass at that time that Heli was sleeping in his place; and his eyes began to fail, and could not see.
3 ३ आणि देवाचा दीप अजून विझला नव्हता, आणि देवाचा कोश परमेश्वराच्या मंदिरात होता, तेथे शमुवेल झोपला होता.
And the lamp of God [was burning] before it was trimmed, and Samuel slept in the temple, where [was] the ark of God.
And the Lord called, Samuel, Samuel; and he said, Behold, [here am] I.
5 ५ मग शमुवेल एलीकडे धावत जाऊन म्हणाला, “मी येथे आहे, कारण तुम्ही मला हाक मारलीत.” आणि एलीने म्हटले, “मी बोलावले नाही परत जाऊन झोप.” म्हणून शमुवेल परत जाऊन झोपला.
And he ran to Heli, and said, [Here am] I, for you did call me: and he said, I did not call you; return, go to sleep; and he returned and went to sleep.
6 ६ पुन्हा परमेश्वराने, “शमुवेला,” अशी हाक मारली. तेव्हा शमुवेल उठून एलीकडे जाऊन म्हणाला, “मी येथे आहे, कारण तुम्ही मला हाक मारलीत.” एलीने उत्तर दिले, “माझ्या मुला मी तुला बोलावले नाही; परत जाऊन झोप.”
And the Lord called again, Samuel, Samuel: and he went to Heli the second time, and said, Behold [here am] I, for you did call me: and he said, I called you not; return, go to sleep.
7 ७ शमुवेलाला तर अजून परमेश्वराचा काही अनुभव आला नव्हता, आणि परमेश्वराचा संदेश अजून त्यास प्रगट झालेला नव्हता.
And [it was] before Samuel knew the Lord, and [before] the word of the Lord was revealed to him.
8 ८ मग परमेश्वराने शमुवेलाला पुन्हा तिसऱ्याने हाक मारली. तेव्हा तो पुन्हा उठून एलीकडे जाऊन म्हणाला, “मी येथे आहे, कारण तुम्ही मला हाक मारलीत.” तेव्हा एलीला समजले की, परमेश्वराने मुलाला हाक मारली आहे.
And the Lord called Samuel again for the third time: and he arose and went to Heli, and said, Behold, I [am here], for you did call me: and Heli perceived that the Lord [had] called the child.
9 ९ मग एली शमुवेलाला म्हणाला, “तू जाऊन पुन्हा झोप; आणि जर त्याने तुला पुन्हा हाक मारली, तर असे म्हण, हे परमेश्वरा बोल कारण तुझा दास ऐकत आहे.” मग शमुवेल परत जाऊन आपल्या जागी झोपला.
And he said, Return, child, go to sleep; and it shall come to pass if he shall call you, that you shall say, Speak for your servant hears: and Samuel went and lay down in his place.
10 १० आणि परमेश्वर आला आणि उभा राहिला; त्याने पहिल्या वेळेप्रमाणे, “शमुवेला शमुवेला,” अशी हाक मारली. तेव्हा शमुवेल म्हणाला, “बोल तुझा दास ऐकत आहे.”
And the Lord came, and stood, and called him as before: and Samuel said, Speak, for your servant hears.
11 ११ परमेश्वर शमुवेलास म्हणाला, “पाहा इस्राएलात मी अशी एक गोष्ट करणार आहे की, जो कोणी ती ऐकेल त्या प्रत्येकाचे कान भणभणतील.
And the Lord said to Samuel, Behold, I execute my words in Israel; whoever hears them, both his ears shall tingle.
12 १२ एलीच्या घराण्याविषयी जे मी सांगितले, ते मी सर्व आरंभापासून शेवटपर्यंत मी त्याच्या विरूद्ध पूर्ण करीन.
In that day I will raise up against Heli all things that I have said against his house; I will begin, and I will make an end.
13 १३ कारण मी त्यास सांगितले की जो अन्याय त्यास माहित आहे, त्यामुळे मी त्याच्या घराण्याला निरंतर न्यायदंड करीन कारण त्याच्या मुलांनी आपणावर शाप आणला तरी त्याने त्यांना आवरले नाही.
And I have told him that I will be avenged on his house perpetually for the iniquities of his sons, because his sons spoke evil against God, and he did not admonish them.
14 १४ यामुळे एलीच्या घराण्याविषयी मी अशी शपथ केली आहे की यज्ञ व अर्पण यांकडून एलीच्या घराण्याचा अन्याय कधीही दूर होणार नाही.”
And [it shall] not [go on] so; I have sworn to the house of Eli, the iniquity of the house of Eli shall not be atoned for with incense or sacrifices for ever.
15 १५ नंतर शमुवेल सकाळपर्यंत झोपला; मग त्याने परमेश्वराच्या मंदिराची दारे उघडली. पण शमुवेल एलीला हा दृष्टांत सांगाण्यास घाबरत होता.
And Samuel slept till morning, and rose early in the morning, and opened the doors of the house of the Lord; and Samuel feared to tell [Heli] the vision.
16 १६ मग एलीने शमुवेलाला हाक मारून म्हटले, “माझ्या मुला शमुवेला.” तेव्हा शमुवेल म्हणाला, “हा मी येथे आहे.”
And Heli said to Samuel, Samuel, [my] son; and he said, Behold, [here am] I.
17 १७ मग त्याने म्हटले, “तो तुझ्याशी काय बोलला? मी तुला विनंती करतो ते माझ्यापासून लपवून ठेवू नको. जे काही त्याने तुला सांगितले त्यातले काही जर तू माझ्यापासून लपवून ठेवशील तर परमेश्वर तुझे तसे व त्यापेक्षा अधिकही करो.”
And he said, What [was] the word that was spoken to you? I pray you hide it not from me: may God do these things to you, and more also, if you hide from me any thing of all the words that were spoken to you in your ears.
18 १८ तेव्हा शमुवेलाने सर्वकाही त्यास सांगितले; त्याच्यापासून काही लपवून ठेवले नाही. मग एली म्हणाला, तो “परमेश्वरच आहे. त्यास बरे वाटेल ते तो करो.”
And Samuel reported all the words, and hid them not from him. And Heli said, He [is] the Lord, he shall do that which is good in his sight.
19 १९ आणि शमुवेल वाढत गेला आणि परमेश्वर त्याच्या बरोबर होता आणि त्याने त्याचा एकही भविष्यविषयक शब्द सत्यात अपयशी होऊ दिला नाही.
And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him, and there did not fall one of his words to the ground.
20 २० शमुवेल परमेश्वराचा नियुक्त केलेला भविष्यवादी आहे असे दानापासून बैर-शेबापर्यंत सर्व इस्राएलांना समजले.
And all Israel knew from Dan even to Bersabee, that Samuel [was] faithful as a prophet to the Lord.
21 २१ शिलोत परमेश्वराने पुन; दर्शन दिले, कारण त्याने शिलो येथे वचनाद्वारे स्वतःला शमुवेलाला प्रगट केले.
And the Lord manifested himself again in Selom, for the Lord revealed himself to Samuel; and Samuel was accredited to all Israel as a prophet to the Lord from one end of the land to the other: and Heli [was] very old, and his sons kept advancing [in wickedness], and their way [was] evil before the Lord.
