< Waiata 37 >

Of David - may not you fret yourself in the evil-doers may not you be jealous of [those who] do unrighteousness.
2 No te mea ka hohoro ratou te kotia, te peratia me te tarutaru, a ka memenga me he otaota hou.
For like grass quickly they will wither and like [the] greenery of vegetation they will fade!
Trust in Yahweh and do good dwell [the] land and graze faithfulness.
4 Whakaahuareka ki a Ihowa, a ka homai e ia ki a koe ta tou ngakau i hiahia ai.
And take delight on Yahweh so he may give to you [the] requests of heart your.
5 Tukua tou ara ki a Ihowa; whakawhirinaki hoki ki a ia, a mana e mahi.
Roll on Yahweh way your and rely on him and he he will act.
6 Mana hoki e whakaputa tou tika, ano he marama, ou ritenga me te mea ko te ra e tu ana.
And he will bring forth like the light righteousness your and justice your like the noontide.
Be still - to Yahweh and wait longingly for him may not you fret yourself in [one who] makes prosperous way his in a person [who] makes plots.
8 Kati te riri, whakarerea hoki te arita; kei mamae koe, kei takina kia mahi i te kino.
Refrain from anger and forsake rage may not you fret yourself only to do evil.
For evil-doers they will be cut off! and [those who] wait for Yahweh they they will possess [the] land.
10 Kia potopoto ake nei hoki, a ka kore noa iho te hunga kino: ae ra, ka ata tirohia e koe tona wahi, a kore kau noa iho ia.
And yet a little and there not [will be the] wicked and you will look carefully on place his and there not [will be] he.
11 Na ka riro te whenua i te hunga mahaki; a ka hari ratou i te roa o te ata noho.
And humble [people] they will possess [the] land and they will take delight on abundance of well-being.
[is] plotting [the] wicked To the righteous and [is] gnashing towards him teeth his.
13 Ka kata te Ariki ki a ia, no te mea ka kite ia e tata ana tona ra.
[the] Lord He laughs to him for he sees that it will come day his.
14 Kua unuhia te hoari e te hunga kino, kua piko ta ratou kopere, hei turaki i te ware, i te rawakore, hei kohuru i te hunga e tika ana, i te ara.
A sword - they have drawn wicked [people] and they have bent bow their to make fall [the] poor and [the] needy to slaughter [people] upright of way.
15 Ka tapoko ta ratou hoari ki o ratou ngakau: a ka whatiia a ratou kopere.
Sword their it will go in own heart their and bows their they will be broken.
16 Engari te wahi iti a te tangata tika i nga taonga o nga tangata kino tokomaha.
[is] good [the] little Of the righteous more than [the] wealth of wicked [people] many.
17 Ka whatiia hoki nga ringa o te hunga kino: u tonu ia i a Ihowa te hunga tika.
For [the] arms of wicked [people] they will be broken and [is] sustaining righteous [people] Yahweh.
[is] knowing Yahweh [the] days of blameless [people] and inheritance their for ever it will be.
19 E kore ratou e whakama i te wa o te he, ka makona ano ratou i nga ra o te hemokai.
Not they will be ashamed in a time evil and in days of famine they will be satisfied.
20 Ka ngaro ia te hunga kino, a ka rite nga hoariri o Ihowa ki te momona o te tarutaru: ka mahea atu ratou; ka mahea atu me he paowa.
For wicked [people] - they will perish and [the] enemies of Yahweh [will be] like a splendid [thing] of pastures they will come to an end in smoke they will come to an end.
21 E tango ana te tangata kino i te taonga tarewa, kahore hoki ana utu: ko te tangata tika ia he aroha tona, he homai.
[is] borrowing [the] wicked And not he repays and [the] righteous [is] showing favor and giving.
22 Ka riro hoki te whenua i ana e manaaki ai; ka hatepea ano ana e kanga ai.
For blessed [ones] his they will possess [the] land and cursed [ones] his they will be cut off.
From Yahweh [the] steps of a man they are established and way his he delights in.
24 Ahakoa hinga, e kore e tino takoto rawa; ka u hoki ia i te ringa o Ihowa.
For he will fall not he will be thrown down for Yahweh [is] supporting hand his.
25 He tamariki ahau i mua, a kua koroheke nei, heoi, kahore ahau i kite i te tangata tika e whakarerea ana, i ona uri hoki e pinono taro ana.
A young man - I have been also I am old and not I have seen [the] righteous forsaken and offspring his seeking food.
26 I te ra roa he atawhai tonu tana, he ohaoha: ka manaakitia hoki ona uri.
All the day [he is] showing favor and [he is] lending and offspring his [become] a blessing.
27 Whakarerea te kino, mahia te pai, ka noho tonu ai.
Turn away from evil and do good and dwell for ever.
For Yahweh - [is] loving justice and not he will abandon faithful [people] his for ever they are preserved and [the] offspring of wicked [people] it is cut off.
29 Ka riro te whenua i te hunga tika, ka nohoia hoki a reira e ratou ake ake.
Righteous [people] they will possess [the] land so they may dwell for ever on it.
30 He kupu mohio ta te mangai o te tangata tika; he ritenga pai ta tona arero e korero ai.
[the] mouth of [the] righteous It utters wisdom and tongue his it speaks justice.
31 Kei tona ngakau te ture a tona Atua; e kore e paheke tetahi o ona hikoinga.
[the] law of God his [is] in heart his not it slips steps his.
[is] watching A wicked [person] for righteous [person] and [is] seeking to kill him.
33 E kore a Ihowa e whakarere i a ia ki tona ringa: e kore ano ia e whakatau he ki a ia ina whakawakia.
Yahweh not he will abandon him in hand his and not he will condemn as guilty him when is judged he.
34 Taria a Ihowa, kia mau ki tana ara, a ka whakanuia koe e ia, ka whakawhiwhia hoki ki te whenua: e hatepea atu te hunga kino, ka kite koe.
Wait to Yahweh - and keep way his and he will exalt you to possess [the] land when are cut off wicked [people] you will see.
35 I kite ahau i te tangata kino e kake ana, e tautorotoro ana me te rakau matomato i tona oneone tupu.
I have seen a wicked [person] ruthless and spreading himself like a native tree luxuriant.
36 Heoi, pahure noa ake tetahi, a kore kau noa iho; ae, i rapua ia e ahau, a kihai i kitea.
And he passed away and there! there not [was] he and I sought him and not he was found.
37 Waitohutia te tangata tika, tirohia iho te tangata kore he: no te mea he marie te tukunga iho ki taua tangata.
Watch [the] blameless and see [the] upright for a future [belongs] to a person of peace.
And transgressors they will be destroyed altogether [the] future of wicked [people] it will be cut off.
39 Na Ihowa ia te whakaoranga o te hunga tika: ko ia to ratou pa kaha i te wa o te he.
And [the] salvation of righteous [people] [is] from Yahweh place of refuge their in a time of trouble.
40 Ma Ihowa ratou e awhina, ko ia hoki hei tauarai mo ratou: ko ia hei tauarai mo ratou i te hunga kino, ka whakaorangia ratou e ia, mo ratou ka whakawhirinaki ki a ia.
And he helped them Yahweh and he delivered them he delivers them from wicked [people] and he saves them for they have taken refuge in him.
