< Waiata 111 >

1 Whakamoemititia a Ihowa. Ka whakapaua toku ngakau ki te whakawhetai ki a Ihowa, i te runanga o te hunga tika, i te whakaminenga.
Hallelujah. I will thank the Lord with all [my] heart, in the council of the upright, and in the congregation.
2 He nui nga mahi a Ihowa; e whakatakina ana e te hunga katoa e manako ana ki aua mea.
Great are the works of the Lord, they are sought for [by them] in all their desires.
3 He mea honore, he mea kororia tana mahi: tu tonu tona tika ake ake.
Glorious and majestic is his doing, and his righteousness endureth for ever.
4 Kua meinga e ia kia maharatia ana mahi whakamiharo: he atawhai a Ihowa, he aroha.
He hath made a memorial for his wonderful works: gracious and merciful is the Lord.
5 E homai ana e ia he kai ma te hunga e wehi ana ki a ia: ka mahara tonu ia ki tana kawenata.
He hath given sustenance unto those that fear him: he will for ever be mindful of his covenant.
6 Kua whakakitea e ia ki tana iwi te kaha o ana mahi, i tana hoatutanga i to nga tauiwi hei kainga tupu mo ratou.
The power of his works hath he told unto his people, that he might give them the heritage of nations.
7 Ko nga mahi a ona ringa he pono, he whakawa tika: pono tonu ana akoranga katoa,
The works of his hands are truth and justice: faultless are all his precepts.
8 U tonu ake ake, e mahia ana i runga i te pono, i te tika.
They are well supported for ever and eternally: they are framed in truth and uprightness.
9 I tonoa mai e ia he whakaoranga mo tana iwi: kua kiia iho e ia tana kawenata mo ake tonu atu; he tapu tona ingoa, e wehingia ana.
Redemption hath he sent unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and to be feared is his name.
10 Ko te timatanga o te whakaaro nui he wehi ki a Ihowa: he ngarahu nui to te hunga katoa nana era mahi; mau te whakamoemiti ki a ia, ake ake.
The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord; a good understanding have all that fulfill [his commandments]: his praise endureth for ever.
