< Rewitikuha 19 >
1 I korero ano a Ihowa ki a Mohi, i mea,
And Yahweh spake unto Moses, saying:
2 Korero ki te whakaminenga katoa o nga tama a Iharaira, mea atu ki a ratou, Kia tapu koutou: he tapu hoki ahau, a Ihowa, to koutou Atua.
Speak unto all the assembly of the sons of Israel and thou shalt say unto them—Holy, shall ye be, —For holy, am I—Yahweh—your God
3 Me wehi tera, tera, ki tona whaea, ki tona papa, kia mau hoki ki aku hapati: ko Ihowa ahau, ko to koutou Atua.
Ye shall, every one, revere, his father and his mother, And my sabbaths, shall ye observe, —I—Yahweh, am your God.
4 Kei tahuri ki te whakapakoko, kei whakarewaina he atua ma koutou: ko Ihowa ahau, ko to koutou Atua.
Do not turn unto things of nought, And, molten gods, shall ye not make to yourselves, —I—Yahweh, am your God.
And when ye would offer a peace-offering unto Yahweh, ye shall offer it that ye may be accepted.
6 Me kai i te rangi ano i whakaherea ai, i te aonga ake ano hoki: a ki te toe tetahi wahi ki te toru o nga ra, me tahu ki te ahi.
On the day, ye offer it, shall it be eaten, and on the morrow, —but, that which remaineth until the third day, in fire, shall be consumed.
And, if it, be eaten, on the third day, unclean, it is it shall not be accepted,
8 A ka waha o ratou hara e nga tangata katoa i kainga ai, no te mea kua whakanoatia te mea tapu a Ihowa; a ka hatepea atu tauta tangata i roto i tona iwi.
But he that eateth it, his iniquity, shall bear, because that which had been hallowed unto Yahweh, hath he profaned, —so then that person shall be cut off from among his kinsfolk.
9 Ina kotia e koutou nga hua o to koutou whenua, kaua e kotia rawatia nga kokonga o tau mara, kaua ano hoki e hamua nga toenga o au hua.
And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly clear the border of thy field, in reaping, —nor shalt thou gather up the gleaning of thy harvest.
10 Kaua hoki e hamua tau mara waina, kaua ano e kohia nga karepe taka o tau mara waina; me waiho ma te rawakore, ma te tangata iwi ke: ko Ihowa ahau, ko to koutou Atua.
And, thy vineyard, shalt thou not go over again, nor gather, every single grape: for the poor and for the sojourner, shalt thou leave them, I—Yahweh, am your God.
11 Kaua e tahae; kaua hoki e teka, kaua ano e tinihanga tetahi ki tetahi.
Ye shall not steal, —nor deceive nor lie one man to another;
12 Kei oatitia tekatia hoki toku ingoa, kaua ano hoki e whakanoatia te ingoa o tou Atua: ko Ihowa ahau.
Nor swear by my name falsely, —And so profane the name of thy God: I, am Yahweh.
Thou shalt not oppress thy neighbour nor rob [him], —The wages of him that is hired shall not tarry with thee, until the morning.
14 Kaua e kanga te turi, kaua ano e maka he whakatutuki ki te aroaro o te matapo; engari me wehi ki tou Atua: ko Ihowa ahau.
Thou shalt not curse the deaf, Nor, before the blind, place a stumbling-block, —So shalt thou stand in awe of thy God I, am Yahweh.
15 Kei whakahaere he ina whakawa; kaua e whakaaro ki te kanohi o te rawakore, kaua hoki e whakahonoretia te kanohi o te nui: me whakawa koe mo tou hoa i runga i te tika.
Ye shall not act perversely in giving judgment, Thou shalt neither respect the person of the poor, Nor prefer the person of the great, —In righteousness, shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
16 Kaua e kopikopiko i roto i tou iwi kawekawe korero ai: kaua ano hoki e tu kia whakahekea te toto o tou hoa: ko Ihowa ahau.
Thou shalt not go about talebearing, among thy people Thou shalt not stand by, over the blood of thy neighbour: I, am Yahweh.
17 Kei kino koe ki tou teina i roto i tou ngakau: riria marietia tou hoa, kaua e waiho he hara i runga i a ia.
Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thy heart, —Thou shalt, faithfully reprove, thy neighbour, and not countenance him in sin:
18 Kaua e rapu utu, kaua hoki e mauahara ki nga tamariki a tou iwi; engari arohaina tou hoa ano ko koe: ko Ihowa ahau.
Thou shalt not take vengeance neither shalt thou cherish anger against the sons of thy people, So shalt thou love thy neighbour as thyself, —I, am Yahweh.
19 Kia mau ki aku tikanga. Kaua e whakatupuria he uri mo au kararehe ki tera atu tu karerehe: kaua e whakauruurua nga purapura e whakatongia e koe ki tau mara: kaua ano hoki e meatia ki a koe he kakahu ko tetahi wahi he rinena, ko tetahi he huruhur u.
My statutes, shall ye observe, Thy beasts, shalt thou not cause to breed in two kinds, Thy field, shalt thou not sow with two sorts of seed, —And a garment woven of diverse threads, shalt thou not suffer to come upon thee.
And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, she being a bondmaid, acquired for a husband, and neither, redeemed, nor, freedom, given her, inquisition, shall be made they shall not be put to death, because she was not free;
21 A me kawe e te tane tana whakahere mo te he ki a Ihowa, ki te whatitoka o te tapenakara o te whakaminenga, he hipi toa hei whakahere mo te he.
but he shall bring in his guilt-bearer unto Yahweh, unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, —even a ram as a guilt-bearer;
and the priest shall put a propitiatory-covering over him with the guilt-bearing ram before Yahweh, on account of his sin which he hath committed, —so shall he have forgiveness, from his sin which he hath committed.
And when ye come into the land, and plant any manner of fruit-tree, then shall ye count as uncircumcised the fruit thereof, three years, shall it be to you as if unclean, it shall not be eaten.
But, in the fourth year, all the fruit thereof shall be hallowed for a festival of thanksgiving unto Yahweh.
25 Engari i te rima o nga tau me kai e koutou nga hua o reira, a ka maha ake ona hua ma koutou: ko Ihowa ahau, ko to koutou Atua.
And in the fifth year, shall ye eat the fruit thereof, that it may enrich you with its increase, —I—Yahweh, am your God.
26 Kaua e kainga tototia tetahi mea: kaua ano hoki e rapu tikanga i nga tohu, i nga kapua.
Ye shall eat nothing with the blood thereof, —Ye shall not practise divination neither shall ye use magic.
27 Kaua e whakaporotakatia nga taha o o koutou mahunga, kaua ano hoki e whakaahuatia kinotia nga taha o tou pahau.
Ye shall not shave in a circle around your head, —nor shalt thou disfigure the fringe of thy beard.
28 Kaua e haea o koutou kikokiko mo te tapapaku, kaua ano hoki e taia he tohu ki a koutou: ko Ihowa ahau.
Cuttings for a dead person, shall ye not make in your flesh. And punctures in your persons, shall ye not print, —I, am Yahweh.
Do not profane thy daughter by causing her to be unchaste, —lest the land fall to unchastity, and so the land be filled with wickedness.
30 Kia mau ki aku hapati, kia hopohopo hoki ki toku wahi tapu: ko Ihowa ahau.
My sabbaths, shall ye observe, And my sanctuary, shall ye revere, —I, am Yahweh.
31 Kaua e whakaaro atu ki nga waka atua, kaua ano hoki e whai atu ki nga mata maori, whakapokea ai e ratou: ko Ihowa ahau, ko to koutou Atua.
Do not turn unto mediums, Nor, for oracles, make search, To render yourselves unclean with them, I—Yahweh, am your God.
32 Me whakatika ake koe i te aroaro o te matenga hina, me whakahonore hoki te mata o te koroheke, me wehi ano hoki ki tou Atua: ko Ihowa ahau.
Before a hoary head, shalt thou rise up, And shalt honour the presence of an elder, —So shalt thou stand in awe of thy God—I, am Yahweh.
33 Ki te noho hoki te tangata iwi ki ki a koe, ki tou whenua, kaua koutou e mahi i te kino ki a ia.
And, when there sojourneth with thee a sojourner in your land, ye shall not oppress him:
34 Ki ta koutou kia rite ki tetahi o o koutou tangata whenua te manene e noho ana i a koutou, arohaina ia ano ko koe; he manene hoki koutou i mua, i te whenua o Ihipa: ko Ihowa ahau, ko to koutou Atua.
As one home born from among yourselves, shall be unto you the sojourner who sojourneth with you, So shalt thou love him as thyself, For, sojourners, became ye, in the land of Egypt, —I—Yahweh, am your God.
35 Kei he ta koutou whakahaere ina whakawa, i te ruri ranei, i te pauna taimaha ranei, i te mehua ranei.
Ye shall not act perversely in giving judgment, —in measures of extent, in weights in measures of capacity:
36 Kia tika a koutou pauna, kia tika nga whakataimaha, kia tika te epa, kia tika hoki te hine: ko Ihowa ahau, ko to koutou Atua, i kawe mai nei i a koutou i te whenua o Ihipa.
Just balances, just weights, a just ephah and a just hin, shall ye have, —I—Yahweh, am your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt.
37 Mo reira kia mau ki aku tikanga katoa, me aku whakaritenga katoa, mahia ano hoki: ko Ihowa ahau.
Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes and all my regulations and do them, —I, am Yahweh.
