Hohua 9
1 Na, i te rongonga o nga kingi katoa o tenei taha o Horano, o te whenua pukepuke, o te mania, o te tahatika katoa hoki o te moana nui i te ritenga atu o Repanona, te Hiti, te Amori, te Kanaani, te Perihi, te hiwi, te Iepuhi;
Und es geschah, als dies hörten alle die Könige, die diesseits des Jordans auf dem Gebirge und in der Niederung und am ganzen Gestade des großen Meeres dem Libanon gegenüber wohnten, der Chethiter und der Amoriter, der Kanaaniter und der Pherisiter, der Chiviter und der Jebusiter;

Kamen sie zusammen zu Hauf, einmütig wider Joschua und Israel zu streiten.

Und sie sprachen zu Joschua: Wir sind deine Knechte. Und Joschua sprach zu ihnen: Wer seid ihr, und von wannen kommt ihr?

Und sie sagten zu ihm: Aus einem sehr fernen Lande kommen deine Knechte wegen des Namens Jehovahs, deines Gottes; denn wir hörten Sein Gerücht, und alles, was Er in Ägypten hat getan;

Und alles, was Er getan hat den zwei Königen des Amoriters jenseits des Jordans, dem Sichon, dem Könige von Cheschbon und Og, dem Könige von Baschan, der zu Aschtaroth war.

Und unsere Ältesten und alle, die in unserem Lande wohnen, sprachen zu uns und sagten: Nehmet Zehrung in eure Hand auf den Weg, und geht ihnen entgegen und sprechet zu ihnen: Wir sind eure Knechte, und nun schließet einen Bund mit uns.

Dies unser Brot nahmen wir warm als Zehrung aus unseren Häusern am Tage, da wir auszogen, zu euch zu gehen, und siehe, nun ist es vertrocknet und mit Schimmelflecken;

Und diese Weinschläuche füllten wir neu, und siehe, sie sind rissig geworden; und das sind unsere Gewänder und unsere Schuhe, sie sind von dem sehr vielen Wege alt geworden.
14 Na ka tango nga tangata i etahi o o ratou o, a kihai i ui whakaaro i to Ihowa waha.
Und die Männer nahmen von ihrer Zehrung; aber den Mund Jehovahs fragten sie nicht.
15 A houhia iho e Hohua te rongo ki a ratou, whakaritea ana hoki e ia he kawenata whakaora mo ratou; i oati ano nga rangatira o te huihui ki a ratou.
Und Joschua machte Frieden mit ihnen und schloß einen Bund mit ihnen, sie am Leben zu lassen; und die Fürsten der Gemeinde schworen denselben.
16 Na i te mutunga o nga ra e toru i muri iho i ta ratou whakaritenga i te kawenata ki a ratou, ka rongo ratou, e tata tonu ana ratou ki a ratou, e noho ana hoki i waenganui i a ratou.
Und es geschah am Ende dreier Tage, nachdem sie den Bund mit ihnen geschlossen hatten, da hörten sie, daß sie ihnen nahe wären und in ihrer Mitte wohnten.
17 Na ka hapainga atu e nga tama a Iharaira, ka tae i te ra tuatoru ki o ratou pa. Ko o ratou pa hoki ko Kipeono, ko Kepira, ko Peeroto, ko Kiriata Tearimi.
Und die Söhne Israels brachen auf und kamen zu ihren Städten am dritten Tage; und ihre Städte waren Gibeon und Kephirah und Beeroth und Kirjath Jearim;

Und die Söhne Israels schlugen sie nicht, weil die Fürsten der Gemeinde ihnen bei Jehovah, dem Gotte Israels, geschworen hatten; und die ganze Gemeinde murrte wider die Fürsten.
19 Na ka mea nga rangatira katoa ki te huihui katoa, Kua oati tatou i a Ihowa i te Atua o Iharaira, ki a ratou; no reira e kore tatou e ahei aianei te pa ki a ratou.
Und alle die Fürsten sprachen zu der ganzen Gemeinde: Wir haben ihnen bei Jehovah, dem Gotte Israels, geschworen, und nun vermögen wir nicht sie anzurühren.
20 Ko tenei ta tatou e mea ai ki a ratou, ka waiho i a ratou kia ora; kei riria tatou mo te oati i oati ai tatou ki a ratou.
Das wollen wir ihnen tun, daß wir sie leben lassen, auf daß keine Entrüstung über uns sei um des Schwures willen, den wir ihnen geschworen haben.
21 A ka mea nga rangatira ki a ratou, me whakaora ratou; otiia me waiho ratou hei tapatapahi rakau, hei utuutu wai mo te huihui katoa; kia rite ai ki ta nga rangatira i korero ai ki a ratou.
Und die Fürsten sprachen zu ihnen: Sie sollen am Leben bleiben, aber Holzhauer und Wasserschöpfer für die ganze Gemeinde werden, wie die Fürsten zu ihnen geredet hatten.
22 Katahi ka karangatia ratou e Hohua, ka korero ia ki a ratou, ka mea, He aha koutou i nuka ai i a matou, i mea ai, Kei tawhiti noa atu koutou i a matou; e noho nei ano koutou i waenganui i a matou?
Und Joschua rief sie und redete zu ihnen und sprach: Warum habt ihr uns betrogen und gesagt: Wir sind sehr ferne von euch, und ihr wohnet doch mitten unter uns?
23 No reira ka kanga koutou; a e kore e kore he kaimahi o koutou, hei tapatapahi rakau, hei utuutu wai hoki mo te whare o toku Atua.
Und nun seid ihr verflucht! Nicht sollen unter euch aufhören der Knecht und die Holz hauen und Wasser schöpfen für das Haus meines Gottes!
24 Na ka whakautua e ratou ki a Hohua, ka mea, I tino korerotia hoki ki au pononga nga mea i whakaritea e Ihowa, e tou Atua, ki a Mohi, ki tana pononga mo te whenua katoa, kia hoatu ki a koutou, kia huna atu hoki nga tangata katoa o te whenua i o k outou aroaro; na reira matou i tino wehi ai i a koutou, kei mate matou, na meatia ana e matou tenei mea.
Und sie antworteten Joschua und sprachen: Man hatte deinen Knechten angesagt, was Jehovah, dein Gott, dem Mose, Seinem Knechte, geboten hat, daß er euch das ganze Land gebe, und daß ihr alle Einwohner des Landes vor euch her vernichten sollet. Darum fürchteten wir sehr für unsere Seelen vor euch, so daß wir dieses taten.
25 Na, kei roto tenei matou i ou ringa: mau e mea ki a matou te mea e pai ana, e tika ana ki tau titiro.
Und nun, siehe, wir sind in deiner Hand. Was gut und was recht ist in deinen Augen uns zu tun, das tue.

Und er tat ihnen also und errettete sie aus der Hand der Söhne Israels, daß sie sie nicht erwürgeten.
27 Na waiho iho ratou i taua ra e Hohua hei tapatapahi rakau, hei utuutu wai mo te huihui, mo te aata hoki a Ihowa ki te wahi e whiriwhiri ai ia a tae noa mai ki tenei ra.
Und Joschua machte sie selbigen Tages zu Holzhauern und Wasserschöpfern für die Gemeinde und für den Altar Jehovahs bis auf diesen Tag, an dem Ort, den Er erwählen würde.
