3 A ka ki te Atua, Kia marama: na ka marama.
and to say God to be light and to be light
4 A ka kite te Atua i te marama, he pai: a ka wehea e te Atua te marama i te pouri.
and to see: see God [obj] [the] light for be pleasing and to separate God between [the] light and between [the] darkness
5 Na ka huaina e te Atua te marama ko te Awatea, a ko te pouri i huaina e ia ko te Po. A ko te ahiahi, ko te ata, he ra kotahi.
and to call: call by God to/for light day and to/for darkness to call: call by night and to be evening and to be morning day one
6 Na ka mea te Atua, Kia whai kikorangi a waenganui o nga wai, hei wehe i waenganui o nga wai.
and to say God to be expanse in/on/with midst [the] water and to be to separate between water to/for water
7 Na ka hanga e te Atua te kikorangi, ka wehea e ia nga wai i raro o te kikorangi i nga wai o runga o te kikorangi: a ka oti.
and to make God [obj] [the] expanse and to separate between [the] water which from underneath: under to/for expanse and between [the] water which from upon to/for expanse and to be so
8 Na ka huaina te kikorangi e te Atua ko te Rangi. A ko te ahiahi, ko te ata, he ra tuarua.
and to call: call by God to/for expanse heaven and to be evening and to be morning day second
9 Na ka mea te Atua, Kia huihuia nga wai i raro i te rangi kia kotahi te wahi, a kia puta te tuawhenua: a ka oti.
and to say God to collect [the] water from underneath: under [the] heaven to(wards) place one and to see: see [the] dry land and to be so
10 Na ka huaina e te Atua te tuawhenua ko te Whenua; a ko te huihuinga o nga wai i huaina e ia ko nga Moana: a ka kite te Atua, he pai.
and to call: call by God to/for dry land land: country/planet and to/for collection [the] water to call: call by sea and to see: see God for be pleasing
11 Na ka mea te Atua, Kia pihi ake te tarutaru i te whenua, te otaota whai purapura, me te rakau hua, ki runga ki te whenua, e hua ana ona hua, he mea rite tonu ki a ia, kei roto nei i a ia ona purapura: a ka oti.
and to say God to sprout [the] land: country/planet grass vegetation to sow seed tree fruit to make fruit to/for kind his which seed his in/on/with him upon [the] land: country/planet and to be so
12 Na ka whakaputaina e te whenua te tarutaru, te otaota hoki e hua ana ona hua he mea rite tonu ki a ia, me te rakau whai hua, kei roto nei i a ia ona purapura he mea rite tonu ki a ia: a ka kite te Atua, he pai.
and to come out: produce [the] land: country/planet grass vegetation to sow seed to/for kind his and tree (to make *LAH(b)*) fruit which seed his in/on/with him to/for kind his and to see: see God for be pleasing
13 A ko te ahiahi, ko te ata, he ra tuatoru.
and to be evening and to be morning day third
14 Na ka mea te Atua, Kia whai mea whakamarama te kiko o te rangi, hei wehe i te awatea, i te po; hei tohu ano aua mea, hei taima, hei ra, hei tau:
and to say God to be light in/on/with expanse [the] heaven to/for to separate between [the] day and between [the] night and to be to/for sign: indicator and to/for meeting: time appointed and to/for day and year
15 Hei whakamarama aua mea i te kiko o te rangi, hei whakamarama i te whenua: a ka oti.

16 Na ka hanga e te Atua nga mea whakamarama nui e rua; ko te whakamarama nui hei tohutohu mo te awatea, ko te whakamarama tuaiti hei tohutohu mo te po: i hanga ano hoki e ia nga whetu.
and to make God [obj] two [the] light [the] great: large [obj] [the] light [the] great: large to/for dominion [the] day and [obj] [the] light [the] small to/for dominion [the] night and [obj] [the] star
17 A whakanohoia ana aua mea e te Atua ki te kiko o te rangi, hei whakamarama mo te whenua,

18 Hei tohutohu i te awatea, i te po, hei wehe hoki i te marama, i te pouri: a ka kite te Atua, he pai.
and to/for to rule in/on/with day and in/on/with night and to/for to separate between [the] light and between [the] darkness and to see: see God for be pleasing
19 A ko te ahiahi, ko te ata, he ra tuawha.
and to be evening and to be morning day fourth
20 Na ka mea te Atua, Kia ngahue ake i roto i nga wai te mea ora e ngoki ana, kia rere ano hoki te manu i runga ake i te whenua i te mata o te kiko o te rangi.
and to say God to swarm [the] water swarm soul: animal alive and bird to fly upon [the] land: country/planet upon face: surface expanse [the] heaven
21 Na ka hanga e te Atua nga tohora nunui, me nga mea ora katoa, nga mea ngokingoki i ngahue ake nei i roto i nga wai, o ia ahua, o ia ahua, me nga manu whai parirau katoa, o ia ahau, o ia ahua: a ka kite te Atua, he pai.
and to create God [obj] [the] serpent: monster [the] great: large and [obj] all soul: animal [the] alive [the] to creep which to swarm [the] water to/for kind their and [obj] all bird wing to/for kind his and to see: see God for be pleasing
22 Na ka manaaki te Atua i a ratou, ka mea, Kia hua koutou, kia tini, kia kapi hoki nga wai o nga moana i a koutou, kia tini ano hoki nga manu ki runga ki te whenua.
and to bless [obj] them God to/for to say be fruitful and to multiply and to fill [obj] [the] water in/on/with sea and [the] bird to multiply in/on/with land: country/planet
23 A ko te ahiahi, ko te ata, he ra tuarima.
and to be evening and to be morning day fifth
24 Na ka mea te Atua, Kia whakaputaina e te whenua te mea ora o ia ahua, o ia ahua, te kararehe me te mea ngokingoki me te kirehe o te whenua o ia ahua, o ia ahua: a ka oti.
and to say God to come out: produce [the] land: soil soul: animal alive to/for kind her animal and creeping and living thing land: soil to/for kind her and to be so
25 Na ka hanga e te Atua te kirehe o te whenua o ia ahua, o ia ahua, me te kararehe o ia ahua, o ia ahua, me nga mea ngokingoki katoa o te whenua o ia ahua, o ia ahua: a ka kite te Atua he pai.
and to make God [obj] living thing [the] land: country/planet to/for kind her and [obj] [the] animal to/for kind her and [obj] all creeping [the] land: soil to/for kind his and to see: see God for be pleasing
26 Na ka mea te Atua, Kia hanga tatou i te tangata kia rite ki a tatou, hei to tatou ano te ahua: a kia waiho ko ratou hei rangatira mo nga ika o te moana, mo te manu o te rangi, mo nga kararehe hoki, mo te whenua katoa, mo nga mea ngokingoki katoa ano hoki e ngokingoki ana i runga i te whenua.
and to say God to make man in/on/with image our like/as likeness our and to rule in/on/with fish [the] sea and in/on/with bird [the] heaven and in/on/with animal and in/on/with all [the] land: country/planet and in/on/with all [the] creeping [the] to creep upon [the] land: soil
27 Na ka hanga e te Atua te tangata rite tonu ki a ia; i hanga ia e ia kia rite ki te Atua; i hanga raua he tane, he wahine.
and to create God [obj] [the] man in/on/with image his in/on/with image God to create [obj] him male and female to create [obj] them
28 Na ka manaakitia raua e te Atua, a ka mea te Atua ki a raua, Kia hua, kia tini, kia kapi hoki te whenua i a korua, kia mate hoki ona tara i a korua: ko korua hei rangatira mo te ika o te moana, mo te manu hoki o te rangi, mo nga mea ora katoa an o hoki e ngokingoki ana i runga i te whenua.
and to bless [obj] them God and to say to/for them God be fruitful and to multiply and to fill [obj] [the] land: country/planet and to subdue her and to rule in/on/with fish [the] sea and in/on/with bird [the] heaven and in/on/with all alive [the] to creep upon [the] land: soil
29 A ka mea te Atua, Na, kua oti te hoatu e ahau ki a korua nga otaota katoa e whai purapura ana i runga i te mata o te whenua katoa, me te rakau katoa, he hua rakau tona e whai purapura ana; hei kai ena ma korua:
and to say God behold to give: give to/for you [obj] all vegetation to sow seed which upon face: surface all [the] land: country/planet and [obj] all [the] tree which in/on/with him fruit tree to sow seed to/for you to be to/for food
30 A kua hoatu ano e ahau nga otaota matomato katoa hei kai ma nga kararehe katoa o te whenua, ma nga manu katoa o te rangi, ma nga mea katoa hoki e ngokingoki ana i runga i te whenua kei roto nei i a ratou he wairua ora: a ka oti.
and to/for all living thing [the] land: soil and to/for all bird [the] heaven and to/for all to creep upon [the] land: soil which in/on/with him soul: life alive [obj] all green vegetation to/for food and to be so
31 A ka kite te Atua i nga mea katoa kua hanga nei e ia, na, pai whakaharahara. A ko te ahiahi, ko te ata, ko te ra tuaono.
and to see: see God [obj] all which to make and behold pleasant much and to be evening and to be morning day [the] sixth
