< 1 Kingi 18 >
1 A, ka maha nga ra, ka puta mai te kupu a Ihowa ki a Iraia i te toru o nga tau; i mea ia, Haere whakakitea atu koe ki a Ahapa; a maku e hoatu he ua ki te whenua.
And it was days many and [the] word of Yahweh it came to Elijah in the year third saying go present yourself to Ahab so let me give rain on [the] surface of the ground.
2 Na haere ana a Iraia ki te whakakite i a ia ki a Ahapa. Nui atu hoki te matekai o Hamaria.
And he went Elijah to present himself to Ahab and the famine [was] severe in Samaria.
3 Na ka karanga a Ahapa ki a Oparia, kaitohutohu o tona whare. Na he nui te wehi o Oparia ki a Ihowa;
And he summoned Ahab Obadiah who [was] over the household and Obadiah he was fearing Yahweh exceedingly.
And it was when cut off Jezebel [the] prophets of Yahweh and he took Obadiah one hundred prophets and he hid them fifty man in the cave and he supplied them food and water.
5 Na ka mea a Ahapa ki a Oparia, Haere puta noa i te whenua ki nga puna wai katoa; ki nga awa katoa; tera pea ka kitea e tatou tetahi tarutaru e ora ai nga hoiho me nga muera; kei poto katoa a tatou kararehe.
And he said Ahab to Obadiah go in the land to all [the] springs of water and to all the wadis perhaps - we will find grass so we may preserve alive horse and mule and not we will cut off any of the livestock.
6 Heoi ka wehea e raua te whenua hei haerenga mo raua: haere ana a Ahapa, tona kotahi i tetahi ara, haere ana a Oparia, tona kotahi i tetahi ara.
And they divided to themselves the land to pass in it Ahab he went in a direction one to only him and Obadiah he went in a direction one to only him.
7 A, i a Oparia i te ara, na ko Iraia kua tutaki ki a ia; a ka mohio ia ki tera, ka tapapa, ka mea, Ko koe ranei tena, e toku Ariki, e Iraia?
And he was Obadiah on the way and there! Elijah to meet him and he recognized him and he fell on face his and he said ¿ you [is] this O lord my Elijah.
8 Ano ra ko ia ki a ia, Ko ahau ra; haere, korero atu ki tou ariki, Ko Iraia tenei.
And he said to him [it is] I go say to master your here! Elijah.
And he said what? have I sinned that you [are] giving servant your in [the] hand of Ahab to put to death me.
10 E ora ana a Ihowa, tou Atua, kahore he iwi, ke kingitanga, i kore nei toku ariki e tono tangata ki reira ki te rapu i a koe: a, i ta ratou meatanga mai, Kahore nei; whakaoatitia iho e ia taua kingitanga, taua iwi ranei, me kahore ratou i kite i a koe.
[by] [the] life - Of Yahweh God your if there [is] a nation and a kingdom where not he has sent master my there to seek you and they said not and he made swear the kingdom and the nation that not it has found you.
And now you [are] saying go say to master your here! Elijah.
12 Na akuanei, kei toku mawehenga atu i a koe, ka kahakina atu koe e te wairua o Ihowa ki te wahi e kore ai ahau e mohio; a, i toku taenga atu ki te whakaatu ki a Ahapa, a ka kore ia e kite i a koe, katahi ahau ka patua e ia: heoi e wehi ana tau po nonga i a Ihowa, no toku tamarikitanga ake.
And it will be I - I will go from with you and [the] spirit of Yahweh - it will carry away you to where not I know and I will go to tell to Ahab and not he will find you and he will kill me and servant your [is] fearing Yahweh since youth my.
13 Kahore ianei i korerotia ki toku ariki taku i mea ai i ta Ietepere patunga i nga poropiti a Ihowa, taku hunanga i nga poropiti kotahi rau a Ihowa, takirima tekau nga tangata ki roto i te ana kotahi, a whangainga ana e ahau ki te taro, ki te wai?
¿ Not has it been told to lord my [that] which I did when killed Jezebel [the] prophets of Yahweh and I hid of [the] prophets of Yahweh one hundred man fifty fifty man in the cave and I supplied them food and water.
14 A ka mea mai na koe inaianei, Haere, korero atu ki tou ariki, Ko Iraia tenei: ka patua hoki ahau e ia.
And now you [are] saying go say to master your here! Elijah and he will kill me.
15 Ano ra ko Iraia ki a ia, E ora ana a Ihowa o nga mano e tu nei ahau i tona aroaro, ko a tenei ra pu ahau puta ai ki a ia.
And he said Elijah [by] [the] life of Yahweh of hosts whom I stand before him for this day I will present myself to him.
And he went Obadiah to meet Ahab and he told to him and he went Ahab to meet Elijah.
And it was when saw Ahab Elijah and he said Ahab to him ¿ you [is] this O [one who] troubles Israel.
18 Ano ra ko ia, Kahore i whakararurarutia e ahau a Iharaira; engari koe me te whare o tou papa i ta koutou whakarerenga nei i nga whakahau a Ihowa, i a koe ka whai nei i nga Paara.
And he said not I have troubled Israel that except you and [the] household of father your because have forsaken you [the] commandments of Yahweh and you have walked after the Baals.
19 Na tikina aianei, huihuia mai a Iharaira katoa ki ahau ki Maunga Karamere, me nga poropiti e wha rau e rima tekau a Paara, me nga poropiti e wha rau o te Ahera, e kai na ki te tepu a Ietepere.
And now send gather to me all Israel to [the] mountain of Carmel and [the] prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty and [the] prophets of Asherah four hundred [who] eat of [the] table of Jezebel.
20 Heoi tono tangata ana a Ahapa puta noa i nga tama katoa a Iharaira, a whakaminea ana aua poropiti ki Maunga Karamere.
And he sent Ahab among all [the] people of Israel and he gathered the prophets to [the] mountain of Carmel.
And he drew near Elijah to all the people and he said until when? [will] you [be] limping on [the] two the crutches if Yahweh [is] God walk after him and if Baal walk after him and not they answered the people him a word.
22 Katahi ka mea a Iraia ki te iwi, Ko ahau anake kua mahue nei o nga poropiti a Ihowa; e wha rau ia e rima tekau tangata nga poropiti a Paara.
And he said Elijah to the people I I am left a prophet of Yahweh to alone me and [the] prophets of Baal [are] four hundred and fifty man.
And let people give to us two young bulls and let them choose for themselves the young bull one and let them cut in pieces it and they may put on the wood and fire not they will set and I I will prepare - the young bull one and I will put on the wood and fire not I will set.
And you will call on [the] name of god your and I I will call on [the] name of Yahweh and he will be the god who he will answer by fire he God and it answered all the people and they said [is] good the word.
25 Na ka mea a Iraia ki nga poropiti a Paara, Whiriwhiria tetahi puru ma koutou, taka; ko ta koutou ki mua, he tokomaha hoki koutou; ka karanga ai ki te ingoa o to koutou atua; kaua hoki he ahi e meatia atu.
And he said Elijah to [the] prophets of Baal choose for yourselves the young bull one and prepare [it] first for you [are] the many and call on [the] name of god your and fire not you will set.
Otiia kahore he kupu, kihai hoki i utua e teta hi. A tupekepeke ana ratou i te aata i hanga nei.
And they took the young bull which someone gave to them and they prepared [it] and they called on [the] name of Baal from the morning and until the noontide saying O Baal answer us and there not [was] a sound and there not [was one who] answered and they limped around at the altar which he had made.
27 A, i te poutumarotanga, ka tawai a Iraia ki a ratou, ka mea, Karanga, kia nui te reo; he atua hoki ia: kei te purakau pea ia, kei tahaki ranei, kei te ara ranei, tena ranei kei te moe, a me whakaara.
And it was at the noontide and he mocked them Elijah and he said call out with a voice great for [is] a god he for musing and for a going away [belongs] to him and for a journey [belongs] to him perhaps [is] sleeping he so he may awake.
And they called out with a voice great and they cut themselves according to custom their with swords and with lances until poured out blood over them.
And it was when passed the noontide and they prophesied until goes up the offering and there not [was] a sound and there not [was one who] answered and there not [was] attention.
And he said Elijah to all the people draw near to me and they drew near all the people to him and he repaired [the] altar of Yahweh that was torn down.
And he took Elijah two [plus] ten stones according to [the] number of [the] tribes of [the] sons of Jacob whom it had come [the] word of Yahweh to him saying Israel it will be name your.
And he built the stones an altar in [the] name of Yahweh and he made a trench like a receptacle of two seahs seed around the altar.
And he arranged the wood and he cut it in pieces the young bull and he put [it] on the wood. And he said fill four jars water and pour [it] on the burnt offering and on the wood
34 I mea ano ia, Tena ano. Na ka meatia ano e ratou. I mea hoki ia, Tuatorutia. Na ka tuatorutia e ratou.
and he said do again and they did again and he said do a third time and they did a third time.
And they went the waters around the altar and also the trench he filled water.
And it was - when went up the offering and he drew near Elijah the prophet and he said O Yahweh [the] God of Abraham Isaac and Israel this day let it be known that you [are] God in Israel and I [am] servant your (and at word your *Q(K)*) I have done all the things these.
Answer me O Yahweh answer me so they may know the people this that you O Yahweh [are] God and you you have turned around heart their backwards.
38 Na ko te tino takanga iho o te ahi a Ihowa, pau ake te tahunga tinana, me nga wahie, me nga kohatu, me te puehu, mitikia ake ana ano hoki te wai i roto i te waikeri.
And it fell [the] fire of Yahweh and it consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust and the water which [was] in the trench it licked up.
39 A, no te kitenga o te iwi katoa, tapapa ana, me te ki ake ano, Ko Ihowa, ko ia te Atua: ko Ihowa, ko ia te Atua.
And it saw all the people and they fell on faces their and they said Yahweh he [is] God Yahweh he [is] God.
And he said Elijah to them seize - [the] prophets of Baal anyone may not he escape of them and they seized them and he brought down them Elijah to [the] wadi of Kishon and he slaughtered them there.
41 Na ka mea a Iraia ki a Ahapa, Haere ki runga, ki te kai, ki te inu; he haruru ua hoki te rara mai nei.
And he said Elijah to Ahab go up eat and drink for [the] sound of [the] noise of rain.
And he went up Ahab to eat and to drink and Elijah he went up to [the] top of Carmel and he crouched [the] ground towards and he put face his between (knees his. *Q(K)*)
Na piki ana ia, titiro ana, a ka mea, Kahore kau he mea.
And he said to servant his go up please look [the] direction of [the] sea and he went up and he looked and he said there not [is] anything and he said go back seven times.
And it was at the seventh [time] and he said there! a cloud small like [the] hand of a person [is] coming up from [the] sea and he said go up say to Ahab harness and go down and not it will hold back you the rain.
And it was - until thus and until thus and the heavens they grew dark clouds and wind and it was rain great and he rode Ahab and he went Jezreel towards.
46 A i runga i a Iraia te ringa o Ihowa; na whitikiria ana e ia tona hope, a rere ana i mua i a Ahapa a tae noa ki Ietereere.
And [the] hand of Yahweh it was to Elijah and he girded up loins his and he ran before Ahab until coming you Jezreel towards.
