1 E aku tamariki nonohi, ka tuhituhi atu nei ahau i enei mea ki a koutou, kia kaua ai koutou e hara. A ki te hara tetahi, he kaikorero mo tatou kei te Matua, ko Ihu Karaiti, ko te tika:
Meine lieben Kinder! Dies schreibe ich euch, damit ihr nicht sündigt. Und sündigt doch jemand, so haben wir einen Fürsprecher bei dem Vater: Jesus Christus, den Gerechten.
2 Ko ia ano te whakamarie mo o tatou hara: ehara i te mea mo o tatou anake, engari mo o te ao katoa.
Der ist die Sühne für unsere Sünden, und nicht für unsere allein, sondern auch für die Sünden der ganzen Welt.
3 Ma konei hoki tatou ka matau ai kua matau tatou ki a ia, ki te puritia e tatou ana ture.
Dies ist das Merkmal, daß wir ihn erkannt: wir halten seine Gebote.
4 Ki te mea tetahi, Kua matau ahau ki a ia, a kahore e pupuri i ana ture, he tangata teka ia, kahore hoki te pono i roto i a ia.
Wer behauptet: "Ich habe ihn erkannt" und seine Gebote nicht hält, der lügt; in solchem Menschen wohnt nicht die Wahrheit.
5 Ko te tangata e pupuri ana i tana kupu, kua tino rite pu i a ia te aroha o te Atua: ma konei tatou ka matau ai kei roto tatou i a ia:
Wer aber seinem Wort gehorcht, in dem ist wirklich die Liebe zu Gott vollkommen geworden. Daran zeigt sich, daß wir in ihm sind.
6 Ko te tangata e mea ana e noho ana ia i roto i a ia, ko te tikanga tenei mana, kia rite tana haere ki ta tera.
Wer da behauptet, er bleibe in ihm, der muß auch wandeln, wie Er gewandelt.
7 E oku teina, ehara i te ture hou taku e tuhituhi atu nei ki a koutou, engari he ture tawhito, ko tera i a koutou o te timatanga iho ra ano: ko te ture tawhito ko te kupu kua rongo ra koutou.
Geliebte, nicht ein neues Gebot schreibe ich euch nun, sondern ein altes Gebot, das ihr gehabt von Anfang an. Dies alte Gebot ist jenes Wort, das ihr bereits gehört.
8 Na, he ture hou taku e tuhituhi atu nei, he mea pono i a ia, i a koutou hoki, e mahea atu ana hoki te pouri, a kua whiti ke mai te marama pono.
Und doch schreibe ich euch ein neues Gebot; das ist es wirklich im Blick auf ihn und auf euch. Denn die Finsternis ist im Schwinden begriffen, und das wahre Licht hat zu leuchten begonnen.
9 Ko te tangata e mea ana kei te marama ia, a e mauahara ana ki tona teina, kei roto ia i te pouri a tae noa mai nei.
Wer nun behauptet, er sei im Licht, und doch seinen Bruder haßt, der ist noch immer in Finsternis.
10 Ko te tangata e aroha ana ki tona teina, e noho ana ia i roto i te marama, kahore hoki he tutukitanga waewae i roto i a ia.
Wer seinen Bruder liebhat, der ist fort und fort im Licht, und in seinem Geist ist nichts, das ihn zu Fall bringen könnte.
11 Ko te tangata ia e mauahara ana ki tona teina, kei te pouri ia, e haere ana ia i roto i te pouri, kahore hoki ona matauranga e haere ana ia ki hea, no te mea kua matapotia ona kanohi e te pouri.
Wer aber seinen Bruder haßt, der lebt in der Finsternis und wandelt in der Finsternis und weiß nicht, wohin er geht; denn die Finsternis hat seine Augen blind gemacht.
12 Ka tuhituhi atu nei ahau ki a koutou, e nga tamariki nonohi, no te mea kua murua o koutou hara, he whakaaro hoki ki tona ingoa.
Ich schreibe euch, liebe Kinder, weil euch die Sünden um seines Namens willen vergeben sind.
13 Ka tuhituhi atu nei ahau ki a koutou, e nga matua, no te mea kua matau koutou ki a ia, ara ki to te timatanga. Ka tuhituhi atu ahau ki a koutou, e nga taitamariki, no te mea kua hinga i a koutou te wairua kino. Ka tuhituhi atu ahau ki a koutou, e nga tamariki nohinohi, no te mea kua matau koutou ki te Matua.
Ich schreibe euch, ihr Väter, weil ihr den erkannt habt, der von Anfang ist. Ich schreibe euch, ihr Jünglinge, weil ihr den Bösen überwunden habt.
14 I tuhituhi atu ai ahau ki a koutou, e nga matua, no te mea kua matau koutou ki a ia, ara ki to te timatanga. I tuhituhi atu ai ahau ki a koutou, e nga taitamariki, no te mea he kaha koutou, e mau ana hoki te kupu a te Atua i roto i a koutou, a k ua hinga i a koutou te wairua kino.
Ich habe euch geschrieben, liebe Kinder, weil ihr den Vater erkannt habt, der von Anfang ist. Ich habe euch, ihr Jünglinge, geschrieben, weil ihr stark seid durch das Wort Gottes unablässig in euch wohnt und ihr den Bösen überwunden habt.
15 Kaua e aroha ki te ao, kaua ano hoki ki nga mea o te ao. Ki te aroha tetahi ki te ao, kahore te aroha o te Matua i roto i a ia.
Habt nicht lieb die Welt, noch was in der Welt ist! Wer die Welt liebhat, in dem wohnt nicht die Liebe zum Vater.
16 Ko nga mea katoa hoki i te ao, te hiahia o te kikokiko, te hiahia o nga kanohi, me te whakapehapeha ki o te ao mea, ehara i te Matua, engari no te ao.
Denn alles weltliche Wesen — die Fleischeslust, die Augenlust und das großtuerische Leben — stammt nicht von dem Vater, sondern von der Welt.
17 E pahemo atu ana hoki te ao, me tona hiahia: tena ko te tangata e mea ana i ta te Atua e pai ai, e noho tonu ana ia a ake ake. (aiōn g165)
Und die Welt fährt dahin mit ihrer Lust; wer aber den Willen Gottes tut, der bleibt in Ewigkeit. (aiōn g165)
18 E nga tamariki nonohi, ko te haora whakamutunga tenei: ka rite hoki ki ta koutou i rongo ai, e haere mai ana te anatikaraiti; na, kua tokomaha nei nga anatikaraiti; ma konei tatou ka matau ai ko te haora whakamutunga tenei.
Kinder! Die letzte Stunde ist da! Ihr habt gehört, ein Widerchrist soll kommen. Jetzt aber sind schon Widerchristen in großer Anzahl aufgetreten. Daran erkennen wir: die letzte Stunde ist da.
19 I haere atu ratou i roto i a tatou, ehara ia i te mea no tatou ratou; mehemea hoki no tatou ratou, kua noho tonu ki a tatou: otiia kua haere atu ratou kia whakakitea ai ehara ratou katoa i a tatou.
Sie sind aus unserer Mitte hervorgegangen, aber sie haben uns innerlich nicht angehört. Denn hätten sie uns angehört, so wären sie bei uns geblieben. Doch sie haben uns verlassen, damit es sich zeige, daß nicht alle zu uns gehören.
20 Na he whakawahinga ano to koutou na te Mea Tapu; e matau ana ano hoki koutou ki nga mea katoa.
Ihr aber habt die Salbung von dem Heiligen empfangen und wißt alles.
21 Ehara i te mea i tuhituhi atu ai ahau ki a koutou no te mea kahore koutou e matau ki te pono, engari no te mea e matau ana koutou, no te mea hoki kahore he teka i puta ake i te pono.
Ich habe euch nicht geschrieben, weil ihr sie kennt und deshalb auch wissen müßt, daß keine Lüge aus der Wahrheit kommt.
22 Ko wai koia te tangata teka? he teka ianei ko te tangata e mea ana, Ehara a Ihu i te Karaiti? Ko te anatikaraiti tenei, ko te tangata e whakakahore ana ki te Matua, ki te Tama.
Wer sonst ist der Lügner, als der da leugnet, Jesus sei auch der Christus? Ein solcher Leugner ist der Widerchrist: er leugnet den Vater und den Sohn.
23 Ko nga tangata katoa e whakakahore ana ki te Tama, kahore te Matua i a ratou: ko te tangata e whakaae ana ki te Tama, kei a ia ano hoki te Matua.
Jeder, der den Sohn leugnet, hat auch den Vater nicht. Wer den Sohn bekennt, der hat auch den Vater.
24 Na, kia mau ki roto ki a koutou ta koutou i rongo ai no te timatanga ra ano. Ki te mea ka mau i roto i a koutou ta koutou i rongo ai no te timatanga ra ano, e mau ano koutou i roto i te Tama, i roto ano hoki i te Matua.
Was ihr von Anfang an gehört, das soll in euern Herzen bleiben! Bleibt aber das in euch, was ihr von Anfang an gehört, so werdet auch ihr in dem Sohn und dem Vater bleiben.
Und dies hat er selbst uns verheißen: das ewige Leben. (aiōnios g166)
26 I tuhituhia atu e ahau enei mea ki a koutou, mo te hunga e mea ana ki te whakapohehe i a koutou.
So viel schreibe ich über die, die euch verführen wollen.
27 Otiia e mau ana ano i roto i a koutou tana whakawahinga kua riro na i a koutou: kahore hoki o koutou mea e whakaakona ai koutou e tetahi: ko tana whakawahinga ia e whakaako na i a koutou ki nga mea katoa, he pono tonu, kahore hoki he teka, kia r ite ra ki tana i whakaako ai i a koutou to koutou mau ki roto ki a ia.
Und die Salbung, die ihr von ihm empfangen habt, die bleibt in euch. Ihr habt nicht nötig, daß euch jemand belehre. Sondern wie euch seine Salbung über alles belehrt, so ist's auch wahr und keine Lüge. Wie sie euch belehrt, so bleibt in ihm!
28 Na inaianei, e nga tamariki nohinohi, kia mau ki roto ki a ia; kia whai maiatanga ai tatou ina puta mai ia, kei whakama hoki ki a ia ina tae mai ia.
Nun, liebe Kinder, bleibt in ihm! Dann haben wir, wenn er erscheint, auch freudige Zuversicht, und wir brauchen bei seiner Wiederkunft nicht mit Scham und Schande von ihm zu weichen.
29 Ki te matau koutou he tika ia, ka matau koutou he mea whanau nana nga tangata katoa e mea ana i te tika.
Wenn ihr wißt, daß er gerecht ist, so bedenkt auch: jeder, der Gerechtigkeit übt, ist aus ihm erzeugt.
