1 Herod Ningthougi haktakta, Judea-gi Bethlehem-da Jisu poklaba matungda, yeng-u, nongpoklomdagi khang-heiraba misingna Jerusalem-da laktuna hanglak-i,
Now Jesus having been born in Bethlehem of Judea in [the] days of Herod the king behold Magi from [the] east arrived in Jerusalem
2 “Jihudigi ningthou oina pokkhraba angang adu kadaida leibage? Maramdi nongpoklomda Ibungo mahakki thawanmichak thokpa eikhoina ure. Aduna eikhoina Ibungobu khurumjaba lakcharibani.”
saying; Where is the [One] having been born King of the Jews? We saw for His star in the east and are come to worship Him.
3 Madu tabada Herod ningthou wakhal yamna langtaknarammi aduga Jerusalem-da leiriba mi pumnamaksu wakhal langtaknarammi.
Having heard then King Herod he was troubled and all Jerusalem with him,
4 Adudagi mahakna athoiba purohitsing amasung Wayel Yathanggi ojasing pumnamak kouraduna Christta pokkadaba mapham adu kadaidano haina hanglammi.
And having gathered together all the chief priests and scribes of the people he was inquiring of them where the Christ is born.
5 Maduda makhoina mangonda khumlak-i; “Judea-gi Bethlehem-da pokkani. Maramdi Tengban Mapugi wa phongdokpiba maichouna asumna haikhi:
And they said to him; In Bethlehem of Judea. thus for it has been written through the prophet:
6 ‘Judea-gi lamda leiba Bethlehem, nahakti Judah-gi leingakpasinggi maraktagi hanthaba natte; maramdi nangondagi eigi mi Israel-bu chingbigadaba leingakpa ama thoklakkani.’”
And you yourself Bethlehem land of Judah, by no means least are among the rulers of Judah; out of you for will go forth [One] leading who will shepherd the people of Mine Israel.’
7 Maduda Herod-na khang-heiraba mising adubu lonna kouraduna karamba matamda thawanmichak adu thokkhibage haibadu makhoidagi khangdokle.
Then Herod secretly having called the Magi inquired exactly of them the time of the appearing star,
8 Adudagi mahakna makhoibu Bethlehem-da tharaduna hairak-i, “Nakhoina chattuna, pikliba angang adubu cheksinna thiyu; aduga nakhoina mahakpu hek phangbaga eihaknasu laktuna mahakpu khurumjanaba eingonda pao pirak-u.”
And having sent them to Bethlehem he said; Having gone do search carefully for the Child. when then You may have found [Him], do bring word back to me so that I myself also I myself also having come may worship Him.
9 Makhoina ningthougi wa adu taraba matungda mapham adu thadoktuna chatkhre. Amasung makhoina nongpoklomda ukhiba thawanmichak aduna angang aduna leiriba mapham aduphaoba laktuna leptriphaoba makhoigi mamang thaduna chatlammi.
And having heard the king they went away. and behold the star which they saw in the east was going before them until having arrived (it was stood *N(k)O*) over where was the Child.
10 Makhoina thawanmichak adu uba matamda hainingngai leitana haraojarammi.
Having seen now the star they rejoiced [with] joy great exceedingly,
11 Adudagi makhoina yum adugi manungda changlaklammi. Amasung makhoina pikliba angang aduna mama Mary-ga loinana leiramba adu ubada khuru-khudak kunduna Ibungobu khurumjare. Aduga makhoina sana, kunduru amadi myrrh-gi khudonpot adu louthokchaduna Ibungoda khudol tamjare.
And having come into the house (they saw *NK(o)*) the Child with Mary the mother of Him, and having fallen down they worshiped Him, and having opened the treasures of them they offered to Him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.
12 Adudagi Tengban Mapuna makhoida Herod-ki manakta amuk halluraganu haina mamang amada khanghanbirabada makhoina atoppa lambi amada chattuna mareibakta hankhirammi.
And having been divinely warned in a dream not to return to Herod, through another route they withdrew into the country of them.
13 Amasung makhoina chatkhraba tungda, Mapu Ibungogi dut amana Joseph-ki mamangda uhanbiduna hairak-i, “Hougatlu, pikliba angang adu mamaga loinana puduna Egypt-ta chellu. Aduga eina nangonda amuk hallak-u haidriba phaoba mapham aduda leiyu. Maramdi Herod-na angang asibu hatnanaba thirakkadouri.”
When were withdrawing then they behold an angel of [the] Lord appears in a dream to Joseph saying; Having arisen do take the Child and the mother of Him and do flee into Egypt and do remain there until when I may tell you; is about for Herod is to seek the Child to destroy Him.
14 Adudagi Joseph-na hougattuna ahing adumaktada angang adu mamaga loinana puraduna Egypt-ta chatkhi.
And having arisen he took the Child and the mother of Him by night and withdrew into Egypt,
15 Aduga Herod-na sidriba phaoba makhoina mapham aduda leirammi. Masi Tengban Mapugi wa phongdokpiba maichousinggi mapanna Mapu Ibungona haikhiba “Eina eigi Ichanupabu Egypt-tagi kouthok-i” haiba wa adu thungnanabani.
and he was remaining there until the death of Herod, so that it may be fulfilled that having been spoken by (the *k*) Lord through the prophet saying; Out of Egypt I called the Son of mine.
16 Herod-na khang-heiraba mising aduna mahakpu namthak toukhre haiba khanglaklabada mahak yamna saorammi. Aduga mahakna khang-heirabasing aduna hairamba thawanmichak adu thokkhiba matam adu yenglaga Bethlehem amasung madugi akoibada leiba chahi ani amasung chahi anigi makhada leiba nupamachasingbu hatnanaba yathang pikhi.
Then Herod having seen that he had been outwitted by the Magi was enraged intensely, and having sent forth he executed all the boys that [were] in Bethlehem and in all the vicinity of it from two years old and under according to the time which he had ascertained from the Magi.
17 Matou asumna Tengban Mapugi wa phongdokpiba maichou Jeremiah-na haikhiba adu thunglare.
Then was fulfilled that having been spoken (through *N(k)O*) Jeremiah the prophet saying;
18 “Takhi Ramah-da, khonjel ama, Hikna hikna kappagi amasung yamna kanna tengtha-naoibagi khonjel. Rachel-na machasinggidamak kappi; Yaramde mahakpu themjinba, maramdi makhoi leikhidre.”
A voice in Ramah was heard, (lamentation and *K*) weeping and mourning great, Rachel weeping [for] the children of her, and not was willing to be comforted because no more they are.
19 Herod-na siraba matungda, Egypt-ta Tengban Mapugi dut amana Joseph-ki mamangda uhanbiduna,
When was dying now Herod behold an angel of [the] Lord appears in a dream to Joseph in Egypt
20 hairak-i, “Hougatlu, pikliba angang adu mamaga loinana puraduna Israel leibakta hallo; maramdi angang adubu hatke hotnaramba makhoising adu sikhre.”
saying; Having arisen do take the Child and the mother of Him and do go into [the] land of Israel; they have died for those seeking the life of the Child.
21 Adudagi Joseph-na hougatlaga pikliba angang adu mamaga loinana puraduna Israel leibakta hallakle.
And having arisen he took the Child and the mother of Him and (entered *N(k)O*) into [the] land of Israel.
22 Adubu Judea-da Archelausna mapa Herod-ki mahutta palli haiba Joseph-na tarabada, mahakna mapham aduda chatpa kirammi. Adudagi mahakki mamangda Tengban Mapuna khanghanbiraba matungda Galilee-gi lamda chatkhirammi.
Having heard now that Archelaus rules (upon *ko*) Judea in place of the father of him Herod he was afraid there to go. having been divinely warned now in a dream he withdrew into the district of Galilee,
23 Aduga makhoina Nazareth kouba apikpa sahar amada laktuna leirammi. Masi Tengban Mapugi wa phongdokpiba maichousingna, “Ibungobu Nazareth-ki mi kougani” haikhiba wa adu thungnanabani.
and having come he dwelt in a city being named Nazareth, so that it may be fulfilled that having been spoken through the prophets that A Nazarene He will be called.
