< Jacob 4 >

1 Kadaidagi khatnaba amasung yetnaba nakhoigi narakta laklibano? Nakhoigi nungda leppa leitana lan soknariba ithak iranggi oiba nungaiba adugi apambasing adudagi lakpani.
Where do conflicts and quarrels among you come from? Do they not come from your passions that war in your members?
2 Nakhoina karigumba khara pammi, adubu nakhoina madu phangba ngamde, maram aduna nakhoina hatnaba semsare; nakhoina karigumba khara yamna pamle adubu madu nakhoina phangba ngamdre, maram aduna nakhoi yetnare amadi khatnare. Nakhoina pamba adu nakhoina phangde maramdi nakhoina madugidamak Tengban Mapugi maphamda nijade.
You lust, and do not have. You kill, covet, and cannot obtain. You fight and make war. You do not have, because you do not ask.
3 Aduga nakhoina nijaba matamda, nakhoina madu phangde, maramdi nakhoina madu aranba pukninggi ithilga loinana nijei; nakhoigi nasagi nungaithokpagi apambasingda sijinnanaba oina nijei.
You ask, and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures.
4 Thajaba yadaba mioisa! Taibangpanga marup oiba haibasi Tengban Mapuga yeknaba oibani haiba nakhoina khangdabra? Kanagumbana taibangpanga marup oininglabadi, mahak masana Tengban Mapuga yeknaba oihalle.
You adulterers and adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
5 “Tengban Mapuna eikhoigi nungda leihanbiba thawai aduna khourangna pammi” haiba Tengban Mapugi wahei asida achumba yaode khan-ganu.
Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit which he made to dwell in us yearns jealously"?
6 Adubu Tengban Mapuna pibiba thoujal aduna henna kalli. Mapugi puyana asumna hai, “Tengban Mapuna chaothokpasingbu thing-i, adubu nolukpasingda thoujal pinabi.”
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
7 Maram aduna nakhoi nasamak Tengban Mapugi makha pollu. Devil-bu thing-u, aduga mahakna nangondagi chenkhigani.
Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Tengban Mapuda naksinjou, aduga mahakna nangonda naksinbirakkani. Papchenbasa, nakhoigi nakhut hamdok-u! Aphasasinnabasa, nakhoigi pukning sengdok-u!
Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
9 Awaba pokpa oiyu, kappu amasung tengtha nawoioyu; nakhoigi nokpa adu kappada onthok-u, amasung nakhoigi haraoba adu awabada onthok-u!
Lament, mourn, and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to gloom.
10 Mapu Ibungogi mangda nakhoi nasamak nollukchou, aduga mahakna nakhoibu thanggatpigani.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you.
11 Ichil inaosa, nakhoi amana amagi mathakta phattaba wa ngangnaganu. Nakhoi kanagumbana machin nanaogi mathakta thina ngangba nattraga wayenba mahak aduna Wayel Yathanggi mathakta thina ngangbani amadi Wayel Yathang adubu wayenbani, adunadi nahakna Wayel Yathang adubu ngakpa nattre, adubu madubu wayenbani.
Do not speak against one another, brothers. He who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge.
12 Wayel yathang piba amasung wayenba adu Tengban Mapukhaktani. Mahaktana kanbiba amasung manghanba ngammi. Atoppa mibu wayelliba nahakpu kanani haina khanjaribano?
Only one is the lawgiver and judge, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?
13 “Ngasi nattraga hayeng eikhoina sahar aduda soidana chatlaga, eikhoina mapham aduda chahi ama leiraga lallon itik touduna sel mayam tan-gani” hairiba nakhoi houjik eina hairiba asi tao.
Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow let us go into this city, and spend a year there, trade, and make a profit."
14 Nakhoigi punsi hayeng kari oigani haiba phaoba nakhoina khangde! Nakhoidi mikup kharatamak leiramlaga mangkhiba manilgumbani.
Whereas you do not know what tomorrow will be like. What is your life? For you are a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
15 Madugi mahutta nakhoina masi haigadabani: “Mapu Ibungogi aningba oirabadi, eikhoi hinggani amasung masi nattraga madu tougani.”
For you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that."
16 Adubu houjik nakhoi napal tou-i amasung chaothok-i; asigumna chaothokpa pumnamaksing asi aranbani.
But now you glory in your boasting. All such boasting is evil.
17 Maram aduna kanagumbana makhoina tougadaba aphaba adu khanglaga toudrabadi, madu makhoigidamak papni.
To him therefore who knows to do good, and does not do it, to him it is sin.
