തീത്തൊസ് 1
1 ൧ നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം എന്നെ ഭരമേല്പിച്ച പ്രസംഗത്താൽ തക്കസമയത്ത് തന്റെ വചനം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയ,
Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s chosen ones and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,
2 ൨ ഭോഷ്ക് പറയാത്ത ദൈവം സകലകാലത്തിനും മുമ്പെ വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്ത നിത്യജീവന്റെ പ്രത്യാശയിൽ (aiōnios g166)
in hope of the consummate (aiōnios g166) life, which God, who cannnot lie, promised before time began;
3 ൩ താൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തവരുടെ വിശ്വാസത്തിനും ഭക്തിക്കനുസാരമായ സത്യത്തിന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിനുമായി, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദാസനും യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ അപ്പൊസ്തലനുമായ പൗലൊസ്,
but in his own time revealed his word in the message with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior,
4 ൪ നമ്മുടെ പൊതുവിശ്വാസത്തിൽ യഥാർത്ഥപുത്രനായ തീത്തൊസിന് എഴുതുന്നത്: പിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിങ്കൽനിന്നും നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിങ്കൽനിന്നും നിനക്ക് കൃപയും സമാധാനവും ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ.
to Titus, my true child according to a common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.
5 ൫ ഞാൻ ക്രേത്തയിൽ നിന്നെ വിട്ടിട്ടുപോന്നത്: ശേഷിച്ച കാര്യങ്ങളെ ക്രമത്തിലാക്കേണ്ടതിനും ഞാൻ നിന്നോട് ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചതുപോലെ എല്ലാ പട്ടണത്തിലും മൂപ്പന്മാരെ നിയമിക്കേണ്ടതിനും തന്നെ.
I left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the things that were lacking and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you—
6 ൬ മൂപ്പൻ കുറ്റമില്ലാത്തവനും ഏകഭാര്യയുള്ളവനും ദുർന്നടപ്പിന്റെ ശ്രുതിയോ അനുസരണക്കേടോ ഇല്ലാത്ത വിശ്വാസികളായ മക്കളുള്ളവനും ആയിരിക്കണം.
if anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, who are not accused of loose or unruly behavior.
7 ൭ അദ്ധ്യക്ഷൻ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഗൃഹവിചാരകനാകയാൽ കുറ്റമില്ലാത്തവനായിരിക്കേണം; തന്നിഷ്ടക്കാരനും മുൻകോപിയും മദ്യപ്രിയനും കലഹക്കാരനും ദുർല്ലാഭമോഹിയും അരുത്.
For the overseer must be blameless, as God’s steward, not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain;
but given to hospitality, a lover of good, sober minded, fair, holy, self-controlled,
9 ൯ ആരോഗ്യകരമായ ഉപദേശത്താൽ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുവാനും വിരോധികൾക്കു ബോധം വരുത്തുവാനും ശക്തനാകേണ്ടതിന്, ഉപദേശപ്രകാരമുള്ള വിശ്വാസ്യവചനം മുറുകെപ്പിടിക്കുന്നവനും ആയിരിക്കണം.
holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict those who contradict him.
10 ൧൦ വൃഥാവാചാലന്മാരും, ജനങ്ങളെ വഞ്ചിക്കുന്നവരുമായ കീഴടങ്ങാത്ത പലരും ഉണ്ട്; വിശേഷാൽ പരിച്ഛേദനക്കാർ തന്നെ.
For there are also many unruly men, vain talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,
11 ൧൧ അവരുടെ വായ് അടയ്ക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു. അവർ ദുരാദായത്തിനു വേണ്ടി, ഉപദേശിക്കരുതാത്തത് ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് കുടുംബങ്ങളെ മുഴുവനും മറിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.
whose mouths must be stopped: men who overthrow whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for dishonest gain’s sake.
12 ൧൨ “ക്രേത്തർ സദാ നുണയന്മാരും, ദുഷ്ടജന്തുക്കളും മടിയന്മാരായ പെരുവയറന്മാരും അത്രേ” എന്ന് അവരിൽ ഒരുവൻ, അവരുടെ ഒരു പ്രവാചകൻ തന്നെ, പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
One of them, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, and idle gluttons.”
This testimony is true. For this cause, reprove them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,
14 ൧൪ യെഹൂദകെട്ടുകഥകളെയും സത്യം വിട്ടകലുന്ന മനുഷ്യരുടെ കല്പനകളെയും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിനും അവരെ കഠിനമായി ശാസിക്കുക.
not paying attention to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.
15 ൧൫ ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവർക്കു് എല്ലാം ശുദ്ധം തന്നെ; എന്നാൽ മലിനന്മാർക്കും അവിശ്വാസികൾക്കും ഒന്നും ശുദ്ധമല്ല; അവരുടെ ഹൃദയവും മനസ്സാക്ഷിയും മലിനമായിത്തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.
16 ൧൬ അവർ ദൈവത്തെ അറിയുവാൻ പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കിലും പ്രവൃത്തികളാൽ അവനെ നിഷേധിക്കുന്നു. അവർ അറപ്പുളവാക്കുന്നവരും അനുസരണംകെട്ടവരും യാതൊരു നല്ലകാര്യത്തിനും കൊള്ളരുതാത്തവരുമാകുന്നു.
They profess that they know God, but by their deeds they deny him, being abominable, disobedient, and unfit for any good work.
