1 ൧ ദാവീദ് തന്റെ മകനായ അബ്ശലോമിന്റെ മുൻപിൽനിന്ന് ഓടിപ്പോയപ്പോൾ പാടിയ ഒരു സങ്കീർത്തനം. യഹോവേ, എന്റെ വൈരികൾ എത്ര പെരുകിയിരിക്കുന്നു! എന്നോട് എതിർക്കുന്നവർ അനേകം പേർ ആകുന്നു.
A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. LORD, how many are mine adversaries become! Many are they that rise up against me.
2 ൨ “അവന് ദൈവത്തിങ്കൽ നിന്ന് സഹായമില്ല” എന്ന് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ച് പലരും പറയുന്നു. (സേലാ)
Many there are that say of my soul: 'There is no salvation for him in God.' (Selah)
3 ൩ യഹോവേ, അവിടുന്ന് എനിക്ക് ചുറ്റും പരിചയും എന്റെ മഹത്വവും എന്റെ തല ഉയർത്തുന്നവനും ആകുന്നു.
But thou, O LORD, art a shield about me; my glory, and the lifter up of my head.
4 ൪ ഞാൻ യഹോവയോട് ഉച്ചത്തിൽ നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു; അവിടുന്ന് തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധപർവ്വതത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഉത്തരം അരുളുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. (സേലാ)
With my voice I call unto the LORD, and He answereth me out of His holy mountain. (Selah)
5 ൫ ഞാൻ കിടന്നുറങ്ങി; യഹോവ എന്നെ താങ്ങുകയാൽ ഉണർന്നുമിരിക്കുന്നു.
I lay me down, and I sleep; I awake, for the LORD sustaineth me.
6 ൬ എനിക്ക് വിരോധമായി ചുറ്റും പാളയമിറങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്ന ആയിരം ആയിരം ജനങ്ങളെ ഞാൻ ഭയപ്പെടുകയില്ല.
I am not afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.
7 ൭ യഹോവേ, എഴുന്നേല്ക്കണമേ; എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കണമേ. അവിടുന്ന് എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ ഒക്കെയും ശിക്ഷിച്ച്, നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God; for Thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek, Thou hast broken the teeth of the wicked.
8 ൮ ജയം യഹോവക്കുള്ളതാകുന്നു; അവിടുത്തെ അനുഗ്രഹം അങ്ങയുടെ ജനത്തിന്മേൽ വരുമാറാകട്ടെ. (സേലാ)
Salvation belongeth unto the LORD; Thy blessing be upon Thy people. (Selah)
