1 ൧ ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു ധ്യാനം; അവൻ ഗുഹയിൽ ആയിരുന്നപ്പോൾ കഴിച്ച പ്രാർത്ഥന. ഞാൻ യഹോവയോട് ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ ഉച്ചത്തിൽ യഹോവയോട് പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുന്നു.

An Instruction of David, a Prayer when he is in the cave. My voice [is] unto Jehovah, I cry, My voice [is] unto Jehovah, I entreat grace.

2 ൨ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ഞാൻ എന്റെ സങ്കടം പകരുന്നു; എന്റെ കഷ്ടത ഞാൻ കർത്താവിനെ ബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

I pour forth before Him my (meditation) My distress before Him I declare.

3 ൩ എന്റെ ആത്മാവ് എന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ വിഷാദിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവിടുന്ന് എന്റെ പാത അറിയുന്നു. ഞാൻ നടക്കുന്ന പാതയിൽ അവർ എനിക്ക് ഒരു കെണി ഒളിച്ചുവച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

When my spirit hath been feeble in me, Then Thou hast known my path; In the way [in] which I walk, They have hid a snare for me.

4 ൪ എന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തേക്ക് നോക്കി കാണണമേ; എന്നെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുന്നവൻ ആരുമില്ലല്ലോ. ശരണം എനിക്ക് നഷ്ടമായിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ പ്രാണനുവേണ്ടി ആരും കരുതുന്നില്ല.

Looking on the right hand — and seeing, And I have none recognizing; Perished hath refuge from me, There is none inquiring for my soul.

5 ൫ യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ അങ്ങയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; “അവിടുന്ന് എന്റെ സങ്കേതവും ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദേശത്ത് എന്റെ ഓഹരിയും ആകുന്നു” എന്ന് ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

I have cried unto thee, O Jehovah, I have said, 'Thou [art] my refuge, My portion in the land of the living.'

6 ൬ എന്റെ നിലവിളിക്ക് ചെവിതരണമേ. ഞാൻ ഏറ്റവും എളിമപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നവർ എന്നിലും ബലവാന്മാരാകയാൽ അവരുടെ കൈയിൽനിന്ന് എന്നെ വിടുവിക്കണമേ.

Attend Thou unto my loud cry, For I have become very low, Deliver Thou me from my pursuers, For they have been stronger than I.

7 ൭ ഞാൻ അങ്ങയുടെ നാമത്തിന് സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്യുവാൻ എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ കാരാഗൃഹത്തിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കണമേ; അങ്ങ് എനിക്ക് ഉപകാരം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുകയാൽ നീതിമാന്മാർ എന്റെ ചുറ്റം വന്നുകൂടും.

Bring forth from prison my soul to confess Thy name, The righteous do compass me about, When Thou conferrest benefits upon me!
