സദൃശവാക്യങ്ങൾ 15

1 ൧ മൃദുവായ ഉത്തരം ക്രോധത്തെ ശമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; കഠിനവാക്കോ കോപത്തെ ജ്വലിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

A mild answer breaketh wrath: but a harsh word stirreth up fury.

2 ൨ ജ്ഞാനിയുടെ നാവ് നല്ല പരിജ്ഞാനം പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു; മൂഢന്മാരുടെ വായ് ഭോഷത്തം വർഷിക്കുന്നു.

The tongue of the wise adorneth knowledge: but the mouth of fools bubbleth out folly.

3 ൩ യഹോവയുടെ കണ്ണ് എല്ലായിടവും ഉണ്ട്; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെയും നല്ലവരെയും നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

The eyes of the Lord in every place behold the good and the evil.

4 ൪ നാവിന്റെ ശാന്തത ജീവവൃക്ഷം; അതിന്റെ വക്രതയോ മനോവ്യസനം.

A peaceable tongue is a tree of life: but that which is immoderate, shall crush the spirit.

5 ൫ ഭോഷൻ അപ്പന്റെ പ്രബോധനം നിരസിക്കുന്നു; ശാസനയെ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നവൻ വിവേകിയായിത്തീരും.

A fool laugheth at the instruction of his father: but he that regardeth reproofs shall become prudent. In abundant justice there is the greatest strength: but the devices of the wicked shall be rooted out.

6 ൬ നീതിമാന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ വളരെ നിക്ഷേപം ഉണ്ട്; ദുഷ്ടന്റെ ആദായത്തിലോ അനർത്ഥം.

The house of the just is very much strength: and in the fruits of the wicked is trouble.

7 ൭ ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ അധരങ്ങൾ പരിജ്ഞാനം വിതറുന്നു; മൂഢന്മാരുടെ ഹൃദയം നേരുള്ളതല്ല.

The lips of the wise shall disperse knowledge: the heart of fools shall be unlike.

8 ൮ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ യാഗം യഹോവയ്ക്ക് വെറുപ്പ്; നേരുള്ളവരുടെ പ്രാർത്ഥനയോ അവന് പ്രസാദം.

The victims of the wicked are abominable to the Lord: the vows of the just are acceptable.

9 ൯ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വഴി യഹോവയ്ക്ക് വെറുപ്പ്; എന്നാൽ നീതിയെ പിന്തുടരുന്നവനെ അവിടുന്ന് സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.

The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: he that followeth justice is beloved by him.

10 ൧൦ സന്മാർഗ്ഗം ത്യജിക്കുന്നവന് കഠിനശിക്ഷ വരും; ശാസന വെറുക്കുന്നവൻ മരിക്കും.

Instruction is grievous to him that forsaketh the way of life: he that hateth reproof shall die.

11 ൧൧ പാതാളവും നരകവും യഹോവയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ തുറന്നിരിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങൾ എത്ര അധികം! (Sheol h7585)

Hell and destruction are before the Lord: how much more the hearts of the children of men? (Sheol h7585)

12 ൧൨ പരിഹാസി ശാസന ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നില്ല; ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെല്ലുന്നതുമില്ല.

A corrupt man loveth not one that reproveth him: nor will he go to the wise.

13 ൧൩ സന്തോഷമുള്ള ഹൃദയം മുഖപ്രസാദമുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; ഹൃദയത്തിലെ വ്യസനംകൊണ്ടോ ധൈര്യം നഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നു.

A glad heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by grief of mind the spirit is cast down.

14 ൧൪ വിവേകമുള്ളവന്റെ ഹൃദയം പരിജ്ഞാനം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; മൂഢന്മാരുടെ വായ് ഭോഷത്തം ആചരിക്കുന്നു.

The heart of the wise seeketh instruction: and the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.

15 ൧൫ പീഡിതന്റെ ജീവനാൾ എല്ലാം കഷ്ടകാലം; സന്തുഷ്ടഹൃദയനോ നിത്യം ഉത്സവം.

All the days of the poor are evil: a secure mind is like a continual feast.

16 ൧൬ ബഹു നിക്ഷേപവും അതിനോടുകൂടി കഷ്ടതയും ഉള്ളതിനെക്കാൾ യഹോവാഭക്തിയോടുകൂടി അല്പധനം ഉള്ളത് നന്ന്.

Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, than great treasures without content,

17 ൧൭ വിദ്വേഷമുള്ളേടത്തെ തടിപ്പിച്ച കാളയെക്കാൾ സ്നേഹമുള്ളേടത്തെ സസ്യഭോജനം നല്ലത്.

It is better to be invited to herbs with love, than to a fatted calf with hatred.

18 ൧൮ ക്രോധമുള്ളവൻ കലഹം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; ദീർഘക്ഷമയുള്ളവൻ കലഹം ശമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

A passionate man stirreth up strifes: he that is patient appeaseth those that are stirred up.

19 ൧൯ മടിയന്റെ വഴി മുള്ളുവേലിപോലെയാകുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ പാതയോ പെരുവഴി തന്നെ.

The way of the slothful is as a hedge of thorns; the way of the just is without offence.

20 ൨൦ ജ്ഞാനമുള്ള മകൻ അപ്പനെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; മൂഢനോ അമ്മയെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നു.

A wise son maketh a father joyful: but the foolish man despiseth his mother.

21 ൨൧ ഭോഷത്തം ബുദ്ധിഹീനന് സന്തോഷം; വിവേകിയോ ചൊവ്വായി നടക്കുന്നു.

Folly is joy to the fool: and the wise man maketh straight his steps.

22 ൨൨ ആലോചന ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നാൽ ഉദ്ദേശ്യങ്ങൾ സാധിക്കാതെ പോകുന്നു; ആലോചനക്കാരുടെ ബഹുത്വത്താൽ അവ സാധിക്കുന്നു.

Designs are brought to nothing where there is no counsel: but where there are many counsellors, they are established.

23 ൨൩ താൻ പറയുന്ന ഉത്തരം ഹേതുവായി മനുഷ്യന് സന്തോഷം വരും; തക്കസമയത്ത് പറയുന്ന വാക്ക് എത്ര മനോഹരം!

A man rejoiceth in the sentence of his mouth: and a word in due time is best.

24 ൨൪ ബുദ്ധിമാന്റെ ജീവയാത്ര ഉയരത്തിലേക്കാകുന്നു; കീഴെയുള്ള പാതാളത്തെ അവൻ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകും. (Sheol h7585)

The path of life is above for the wise, that he may decline from the lowest hell. (Sheol h7585)

25 ൨൫ അഹങ്കാരിയുടെ വീട് യഹോവ പൊളിച്ചുകളയും; വിധവയുടെ അതിര് അവിടുന്ന് ഉറപ്പിക്കും.

The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: and will strengthen the borders of the widow.

26 ൨൬ ദുരുപായങ്ങൾ യഹോവയ്ക്ക് വെറുപ്പ്; ദയാവാക്കോ നിർമ്മലം.

Evil thoughts are an abomination to the Lord: and pure words most beautiful shall be confirmed by him.

27 ൨൭ ദുരാഗ്രഹി തന്റെ ഭവനത്തെ വലയ്ക്കുന്നു; കോഴ വെറുക്കുന്നവൻ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കും.

He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house: but he that hateth bribes shall live. By mercy and faith sins are purged away: and by the fear of the Lord every one declineth from evil.

28 ൨൮ നീതിമാൻ മനസ്സിൽ ആലോചിച്ച് ഉത്തരം പറയുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വായ് ദോഷങ്ങൾ വർഷിക്കുന്നു.

The mind of the just studieth obedience: the mouth of the wicked over floweth with evils.

29 ൨൯ യഹോവ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരോട് അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ പ്രാർത്ഥനയോ അവൻ കേൾക്കുന്നു.

The Lord is far from the wicked: and he will hear the prayers of the just.

30 ൩൦ പുഞ്ചിരിക്കുന്നു മുഖം ഹൃദയത്തെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; നല്ല വർത്തമാനം ശരീരത്തെ തണുപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

The light of the eyes rejoiceth the soul: a good name maketh the bones fat.

31 ൩൧ ജീവദായകമായ ശാസന കേൾക്കുന്ന ചെവിയുള്ളവൻ ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ വസിക്കും.

The ear that heareth the reproofs of life, shall abide in the midst of the wise.

32 ൩൨ പ്രബോധനം ത്യജിക്കുന്നവൻ തന്റെ പ്രാണനെ നിരസിക്കുന്നു; ശാസന കേട്ട് അനുസരിക്കുന്നവൻ വിവേകം സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നു.

He that rejecteth instruction, despiseth his own soul: but he that yieldeth to reproof possesseth understanding.

33 ൩൩ യഹോവാഭക്തി ജ്ഞാനോപദേശമാകുന്നു; മാനത്തിന് വിനയം മുന്നോടിയാകുന്നു.

The fear of the Lord is the lesson of wisdom: and humility goeth before glory.
