ലൂക്കോസ് 2
1 ൧ ആ കാലത്ത്, റോമാസാമ്രാജ്യത്തിൽ ഒക്കെയും ജനസംഖ്യ കണക്ക് എടുക്കണം എന്ന് ഔഗുസ്തൊസ് കൈസർ ഒരു ആജ്ഞ കൊടുത്തു.
Now it happened in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that the whole inhabited world should be enrolled.
This first census took place while Quirinius was governing Syria.
So everyone was traveling, each to his own town, to enroll himself.
4 ൪ അങ്ങനെ യോസഫും ദാവീദിന്റെ കുടുംബത്തിലും വംശത്തിലും ഉൾപ്പെട്ടവൻ ആയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട്, തനിക്കു വിവാഹം നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരുന്ന മറിയ എന്ന ഗർഭിണിയായ ഭാര്യയോടും കൂടെ പേരു ചേർക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഗലീലയിലെ നസറെത്ത് പട്ടണം വിട്ടു,
So Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of Natsareth town, into Judea to the city of David, that is called Bethlehem, because he was of David's ‘house’, that is, line of descent,
to enroll himself with Mary, the woman who had been betrothed to him, who was pregnant.
So it happened that when they got there the days for her to give birth were completed;
7 ൭ അവൾ ആദ്യജാതനായ മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു. വഴിയമ്പലത്തിൽ അവർക്ക് സ്ഥലം ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നതിനാൽ പുതപ്പ് കൊണ്ട് നല്ലവണ്ണം പൊതിഞ്ഞു പശുത്തൊട്ടിയിൽ കിടത്തി.
and she gave birth to her firstborn Son, wrapped Him in pieces of cloth and laid Him in the manger, because there was no room for them in the lodging place.
8 ൮ അന്ന്, സൂര്യൻ അസ്തമിച്ച് ഇരുൾ വ്യാപിച്ചപ്പോൾ, ആ പ്രദേശത്ത് ഇടയന്മാർ ആട്ടിൻകൂട്ടത്തിന് കാവലായി വെളിയിൽ താമസിച്ചിരുന്നു.
Now there were shepherds in that same area, staying out in the field and keeping the nightly watches over their flock.
9 ൯ പെട്ടെന്ന് കർത്താവിന്റെ ഒരു ദൂതൻ അവരുടെ അരികെ വന്നു, കർത്താവിന്റെ തേജസ്സ് അവരെ ചുറ്റിമിന്നി, അവർ ഭയപരവശരായിത്തീർന്നു.
When wow, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
10 ൧൦ ദൂതൻ അവരോട്: ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; സർവ്വജനത്തിനും ഉണ്ടാകുവാനുള്ള മഹാസന്തോഷം ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു സുവിശേഷിക്കുന്നു.
The angel said to them: “Do not be afraid because listen, I am announcing the most joyful news to you, which will be to all the people!
11 ൧൧ കർത്താവായ ക്രിസ്തു എന്ന രക്ഷിതാവ് ഇന്ന് ദാവീദിന്റെ പട്ടണത്തിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് വേണ്ടി ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
You see, today, in David's city, a Savior was born to you, who is Lord Christ!
12 ൧൨ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അടയാളമോ; പുതപ്പിനാൽ നല്ലവണ്ണം പൊതിയപ്പെട്ട് പശുത്തൊട്ടിയിൽ കിടക്കുന്ന ഒരു ശിശുവിനെ നിങ്ങൾ കാണും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And this is the sign to you: you will find a Baby wrapped in pieces of cloth, lying in a manger.”
Suddenly a multitude of the heavenly army was with the angel praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward mankind!”
15 ൧൫ ദൂതന്മാർ അവരെ വിട്ടു സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ പോയശേഷം ഇടയന്മാർ: ഇപ്പോൾ നാം ബേത്ത്-ലേഹേമിൽ ചെന്ന് കർത്താവ് നമ്മോടു അറിയിച്ച ഈ സംഭവം കാണണം എന്നു തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞു.
So when the angels went away from them into the sky the men, the shepherds, said to one another, “Hey, let's go to Bethlehem and see this event that has taken place, that the Lord made known to us!”
So they went in a hurry and located both Mary and Joseph, and the Baby lying in the manger.
And having seen they spread an exact account of the saying that had been spoken to them concerning this Child.
All who heard marveled at the things told them by the shepherds.
As for Mary, she treasured all these sayings, pondering them in her heart.
20 ൨൦ തങ്ങളോട് അറിയിച്ചതുപോലെ ഇടയന്മാർ കണ്ട്. അവർ കേട്ടതും കണ്ടതുമായ എല്ലാറ്റിനെയും കുറിച്ച് ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തിയും പുകഴ്ത്തിയുംകൊണ്ട് മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God over all that they had heard and seen, just as it was told them.
21 ൨൧ ശിശുവിനെ പരിച്ഛേദന ചെയ്യേണ്ട എട്ടാം ദിവസം, അവൻ ഗർഭത്തിൽ ഉല്പാദിക്കുന്നതിനു മുമ്പെ ദൂതൻ പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നതുപോലെ, അവന് യേശു എന്നു പേർവിളിച്ചു.
When eight days were completed so as to circumcise Him, His name was indeed called JESUS, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.
And when the days of their purification according to the law of Moses were completed, they took Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord
23 ൨൩ കടിഞ്ഞൂലായ ആണൊക്കെയും കർത്താവിന് വിശുദ്ധം ആയിരിക്കണം എന്നു കർത്താവിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നത് പോലെ
(just as it is written in the law of the Lord, “Every male who opens a womb shall be called holy to the Lord”),
24 ൨൪ അവനെ കർത്താവിന് അർപ്പിക്കുവാനും, ഒരു ഇണ കുറുപ്രാവിനെയോ രണ്ടു പ്രാക്കുഞ്ഞിനെയോ കർത്താവിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ യാഗം കഴിക്കുവാനും അവർ അവനെ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി.
and to offer a sacrifice according to what was specified in the Lord's Law, “a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons”.
25 ൨൫ യെരൂശലേമിൽ ശിമ്യോൻ എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ നീതിമാനും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ആശ്വാസത്തിനായി കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നവനും ആയിരുന്നു; പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവും അവന്റെമേൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
Well now, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; this man was righteous and devout, expectantly waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and Holy Spirit was upon him.
26 ൨൬ കർത്താവിന്റെ ക്രിസ്തുവിനെ കാണുംമുമ്പെ മരിക്കുകയില്ല എന്നു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാൽ അവന് അരുളപ്പാട് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
(It had been revealed to him repeatedly by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death until he saw the Lord's Messiah.)
27 ൨൭ അവൻ ആത്മാവ് നയിച്ചതനുസരിച്ച് ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ ചെന്ന്. യേശു എന്ന പൈതലിന് വേണ്ടി ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുസരിച്ചുള്ള അനുഷ്ഠാനങ്ങൾ ചെയ്‌വാൻ അമ്മയും അപ്പനും അവനെ അകത്ത് കൊണ്ടുചെന്നപ്പോൾ
So by the Spirit he came into the temple; and when the parents brought the Child Jesus in, to do concerning Him according to the custom of the law,
Simeon took Him into his arms and blessed God and said:
“Sovereign, now You can release your slave in peace, according to Your word,
because my eyes have seen Your salvation,
which You have prepared before the face of all peoples:
a light for revelation to Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel.”
And Joseph and His mother were marveling at the things being spoken concerning Him.
34 ൩൪ പിന്നെ ശിമ്യോൻ അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ച് അവന്റെ അമ്മയായ മറിയയോടു: ഇവൻ യിസ്രായേലിൽ പലരേയും ദൈവത്തിൽ നിന്നു അകലുന്നവരും അടുക്കുന്നവരും ആക്കിത്തീർക്കും. അനേകരുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളിലെ വിചാരം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തും. എതിർക്കുന്നവർക്ക് അവൻ ഒരു അടയാളം ആയിരിക്കും.
Then Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary His mother: “Listen, this One is appointed to bring about the fall and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that is spoken against,
35 ൩൫ നിന്റെ സ്വന്തപ്രാണനിൽക്കൂടി ഒരു വാൾ കടക്കുന്നത് പോലെ നിനക്ക് വലിയ പ്രയാസം ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
so that the reasonings of many hearts may be revealed (furthermore, a sword will pass through your own soul also).”
36 ൩൬ ആശേർ ഗോത്രത്തിൽ ഫനൂവേലിന്റെ മകളായ ഹന്നാ എന്നൊരു പ്രവാചകി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൾ വിവാഹ ശേഷം ഭർത്താവിനോടുകൂടെ ഏഴ് സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചു. എൺപത്തിനാല് സംവത്സരം വിധവയായി ജീവിച്ചു. ഇപ്പോൾ വളരെ വയസ്സു ചെന്ന്.
Also there was a prophetess Anna, a daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher—she was of a great age, having lived with a husband seven years from her virginity
and having been a widow for about eighty-four years—who did not depart from the temple, serving God with fastings and petitions night and day.
38 ൩൮ ആ സമയത്ത് അവളും അടുത്തുനിന്ന് ദൈവത്തെ സ്തുതിച്ച്, യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പിനായി കാത്തിരുന്ന എല്ലാവരോടും അവനെക്കുറിച്ച് പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു.
Well she, having come up at that very moment, started praising the Lord, and kept on speaking of Him to all those in Jerusalem who were looking for redemption.
39 ൩൯ കർത്താവിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും നിവർത്തിച്ചശേഷം മറിയയും ജോസഫും ഗലീലയിൽ തങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടണമായ നസറെത്തിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
When they had completed everything, according to the law of the Lord, they went back to Galilee, to their own town, Natsareth.
And the Child kept growing and being strengthened in spirit, being filled with wisdom; yes, the grace of God was upon Him.
Now every year His parents would go to Jerusalem to the feast of the Passover;
so when He was twelve years old they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast.
43 ൪൩ പെരുന്നാൾ കഴിഞ്ഞു മടങ്ങിപ്പോരുമ്പോൾ ബാലനായ യേശു യെരൂശലേമിൽ താമസിച്ചു; അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരോ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.
When they had fulfilled the days, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but Joseph and His mother did not know it.
44 ൪൪ അവരോടൊപ്പം യാത്ര ചെയ്യുന്നവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും എന്നു അവർ വിചാരിച്ചിട്ട് ഒരു ദിവസത്തെ യാത്രചെയ്തു; പിന്നെ അവനെ ബന്ധുക്കളുടെയും പരിചയക്കാരുടെയും ഇടയിൽ അന്വേഷിച്ചു.
Supposing Him to be in the caravan, they went a day's journey and then started looking for Him among their relatives and acquaintances.
Not finding Him, they returned to Jerusalem seeking Him.
46 ൪൬ മൂന്നുദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം അവൻ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ ഗുരുക്കന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നതും അവരുടെ ഉപദേശം കേൾക്കുകയും അവരോട് ചോദ്യങ്ങൾ ചോദിക്കുന്നതും കണ്ട്.
So it happened that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.
47 ൪൭ അവന്റെ വാക്ക് കേട്ടവർക്കെല്ലാവർക്കും അവന്റെ വിവേകത്തിലും ഉത്തരങ്ങളിലും വിസ്മയം തോന്നി. അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ട് അവർ അതിശയിച്ചു;
(All who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers.)
48 ൪൮ അമ്മ അവനോട്: മകനേ, ഞങ്ങളോടു ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തതു എന്ത്? നിന്റെ അപ്പനും ഞാനും വ്യസനിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് നിന്നെ കണ്ടുപിടിക്കാൻ വളരെ വിഷമിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
So upon seeing Him they were amazed, and His mother said to Him: “Son, why have you treated us like this? Look, your father and I have been searching for you in distress.”
49 ൪൯ അവൻ അവരോട്: എന്നെ എന്തിനാണ് അന്വേഷിച്ചത്? എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ഭവനത്തിൽ ഞാൻ ഇരിക്കേണം എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ. എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
So He said to them: “Why were you seeking me? Didn't you know that I must be about my Father's concerns?”
But they did not understand the statement that He made to them.
51 ൫൧ പിന്നെ അവൻ അവരോടുകൂടെ നസറെത്തിൽ വന്നു മാതാപിതാക്കളെ അനുസരിച്ചു ജീവിച്ചു. ഈ കാര്യങ്ങൾ എല്ലാം അവന്റെ അമ്മ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ സംഗ്രഹിച്ചു.
Then He went down with them and came to Natsareth, and continued subordinating Himself to them; His mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
