യോശുവ 15
1 ൧ യെഹൂദാഗോത്രത്തിന് കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി കിട്ടിയ ഓഹരി തെക്കെ അറ്റത്ത് ഏദോമിന്റെ അതിരായ സീൻമരുഭൂമിവരെ ആയിരുന്നു.
This was the land allotted to the tribe of Judah, by families: it stretched south to the border of Edom, to the wilderness of Zin in the far south.
Their boundary began at the end of the Salt Sea—the bay that faces south—
3 ൩ അക്രബ്ബീം മലയിടുക്കിലൂടെ സീൻ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ കടന്ന് ഹെസ്രോനിലൂടെ ആദാരിലെത്തി അവിടെനിന്ന് കാദേശ്ബർന്നേയയുടെ തെക്കുഭാഗത്തെത്തി കാർക്കയിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞ്
and then went south of Scorpion Pass through the wilderness of Zin, then heading south from Kadesh-barnea to Hezron. From there it went up to Addar and then turned towards Karka,
4 ൪ അസ്മോനിലേക്ക് കടന്ന് ഈജിപ്റ്റിലെ തോടുവരെ ചെന്ന് സമുദ്രത്തിൽ അവസാനിക്കുന്നു; ഇതു നിങ്ങളുടെ തെക്കെ അതിർ ആയിരിക്കേണം.
passing through Azmon and out to the Wadi of Egypt, ending at the sea. This was their southern border.
The eastern border of Judah was the Salt Sea, up to where the Jordan River ends. The northern boundary ran from the northern bay of the sea where the Jordan ends
6 ൬ ഉൾക്കടൽ തുടങ്ങി ബേത്ത്-ഹൊഗ്ലയിലേക്ക് കയറി ബേത്ത്-അരാബയുടെ വടക്കുകൂടി കടന്ന്, രൂബേന്റെ മകനായ ബോഹാന്റെ കല്ലുവരെ കയറിച്ചെല്ലുന്നു.
up to the border of Beth-hoglath, and then north of Beth-arabah to the Stone of Bohan (Reuben's son).
7 ൭ പിന്നെ ആ അതിർ ആഖോർ താഴ്‌വരമുതൽ ദെബീരിലേക്ക് കടന്ന് തോടിന്റെ തെക്കുവശത്തുള്ള അദുമ്മീം കയറ്റത്തിന്നെതിരെയുള്ള ഗില്ഗാലിൽ ചെന്ന് ഏൻ-ശേമെശ് അരുവിയുടെ അരികിലൂടെ ഏൻ-രോഗേലിൽ അവസാനിക്കുന്നു.
From there it went to the border of Debir through the valley of Achor, and turned north towards Gilgal, opposite the heights of Adummim to the south of the valley. Then the boundary continued to the waters of En-shemesh and out to En-rogel.
8 ൮ പിന്നെ ആ അതിർ ബെൻ-ഹിന്നോം താഴ്വരയിൽകൂടി കയറി യെരൂശലേം എന്ന യെബൂസ്യനഗരിയുടെ തെക്കോട്ട് കടന്ന് ഹിന്നോം താഴ്‌വരയുടെ മുമ്പിൽ പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടും രെഫയീം താഴ്‌വരയുടെ അറ്റത്ത് വടക്കോട്ടും ഉള്ള മലയുടെ മുകളിലേക്ക് കയറിച്ചെല്ലുന്നു.
The boundary then went through the valley of Ben-hinnom, along the southern slopes of the Jebusites, (that is Jerusalem), then on up to the top of the mountain overlooking the valley of Hinnom right up to the northern end of the valley of Rephaim.
9 ൯ പിന്നെ ആ അതിർ മലയുടെ മുകളിൽനിന്ന് നെപ്തോഹയിലെ നീരുറവിലേക്ക് തിരിഞ്ഞ് എഫ്രോൻമലയിലെ പട്ടണങ്ങൾവരെ ചെന്ന് കിര്യത്ത്-യെയാരീം എന്ന ബാലയിലേക്ക് തിരിയുന്നു.
From there the boundary ran from the top of the mountain to the water spring at Nephtoah and on to the towns on Mount Ephron. Then it bent towards Ballah (Kiriath-jearim).
10 ൧൦ പിന്നെ ആ അതിർ ബാലാ മുതൽ പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ട് സേയീർമല വരെ തിരിഞ്ഞ് കെസാലോൻ എന്ന യെയാരീം മലയുടെ പാർശ്വംവരെ വടക്കോട്ട് കടന്ന്, ബേത്ത്-ശേമെശിലേക്ക് ഇറങ്ങി തിമ്നയിലേക്ക് ചെല്ലുന്നു.
Then the boundary moved around to the west of Baalah to Mount Seir and passed along the northern slope of Mount Jearim to the town of Kesalon, down to Beth Shemesh and on to Timnah.
11 ൧൧ പിന്നെ ആ അതിർ വടക്കോട്ട് തിരിഞ്ഞ് എക്രോന്റെ പാർശ്വംവരെ ചെന്ന് ശിക്രോനിലേക്ക് തിരിഞ്ഞ് ബാലാ മലയിലേക്ക് കടന്ന് യബ്നേലിൽ ചെന്ന് സമുദ്രത്തിൽ അവസാനിക്കുന്നു.
The boundary then ran to the north slope of Ekron, and bent towards Shikkeron, passing Mount Baalah, out to Jabneel, and ending at the sea.
12 ൧൨ പടിഞ്ഞാറെ അതിർ മെഡിറ്ററേനിയൻസമുദ്രം തന്നേ; ഇതാകുന്നു യെഹൂദാമക്കൾക്ക് കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി കിട്ടിയ ദേശത്തിന്റെ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള അതിരുകൾ.
The western boundary was the coastline of the Great Sea. These were the boundaries around the tribe of Judah, by families.
13 ൧൩ യഹോവ യോശുവയോട് കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവൻ യെഫുന്നെയുടെ മകനായ കാലേബിന് യെഹൂദാമക്കളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഓഹരിയായിട്ട് അനാക്കിന്റെ അപ്പനായ അർബ്ബയുടെ പട്ടണമായ ഹെബ്രോൻ കൊടുത്തു.
The Lord had instructed Joshua to allocate some land in Judah's territory to Caleb, son of Jephunneh, and so he was given the town of Kiriath-arba, or Hebron. (Arba was the father of Anak.)
14 ൧൪ അവിടെനിന്ന് കാലേബ് അനാക്കിന്റെ വംശജരായ ശേശായി, അഹീമാൻ, തൽമായി എന്നീ മൂന്നു അനാക്യരെ ഓടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
Caleb drove out three family groups—Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai, descendants of Anak.
15 ൧൫ അവിടെനിന്ന് അവൻ ദെബീർ നിവാസികളുടെ നേരെ ചെന്നു; ദെബീരിന്റെ പേർ മുമ്പെ കിര്യത്ത്-സേഫെർ എന്നായിരുന്നു.
From there he went to attack the inhabitants of Debir (previously known as Kiriath-sepher).
Caleb announced, “Whoever attacks Kiriath-sepher and captures it, I will give him my daughter Acsah to marry.”
17 ൧൭ കാലേബിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ കെനസിന്റെ മകൻ ഒത്നീയേൽ അത് പിടിച്ചു; അവൻ തന്റെ മകൾ അക്സയെ അവന് ഭാര്യയായി കൊടുത്തു.
Othniel, son of Kenaz, brother of Caleb, captured the town so Caleb gave him his daughter Acsah to marry.
18 ൧൮ അവൾ തന്റെ അപ്പനോട് ഒരു നിലം ചോദിപ്പാൻ ഭർത്താവിനെ ഉത്സാഹിപ്പിച്ചു; അവൾ കഴുതപ്പുറത്തുനിന്ന് ഇറങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ കാലേബ് അവളോട്: “നിനക്ക് എന്തുവേണം?” എന്ന് ചോദിച്ചു.
When she came to him, she encouraged him to ask her father for a field. When she got off her donkey, Caleb asked her, “What do you want?”
19 ൧൯ “എനിക്ക് ഒരു അനുഗ്രഹം തരേണം; നീ എനിക്ക് തെക്കെ ദേശമാണല്ലൊ തന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്; ഏതാനും നീരുറവുകൾകൂടെ എനിക്ക് തരേണം” എന്ന് അവൾ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അവൾക്ക് മലയിലും താഴ്‌വരയിലും ഉള്ള നീരുറവുകൾ കൊടുത്തു.
She replied, “Please give me a blessing. Since you have already given me land that's like the desert, please give me springs of water as well.” So he gave her both the upper and the lower springs.

Shaaraim, Adithaim, Gederah, and Gederothaim—fourteen towns with their associated villages.
Also: Zenan, Hadashah, Migdal-gad,
Dilean, Mizpeh, Joktheel,
Lachish, Bozkath, Eglon,
Cabbon, Lahmam, Kitlish,
Gederoth, Beth-dagon, Naamah, and Makkedah—sixteen towns with their associated villages.
In addition: Libnah, Ether, Ashan,
Iphtah, Ashnah, Nezib,

63 ൬൩ യെരൂശലേമിൽ പാർത്തിരുന്ന യെബൂസ്യരെ യെഹൂദാമക്കൾക്ക് നീക്കിക്കളവാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; അങ്ങനെ യെബൂസ്യർ ഇന്നുവരെ യെഹൂദാമക്കളോടുകൂടെ യെരൂശലേമിൽ പാർത്തു വരുന്നു.
However, the tribe of Judah could not drive out the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so the Jebusites live among the tribe of Judah in Jerusalem to this very day.
