ഇയ്യോബ് 5

1 ൧ വിളിച്ചുനോക്കുക; ആരെങ്കിലും നിനക്ക് ഉത്തരം നൽകുന്നുണ്ടോ? നീ വിശുദ്ധന്മാരിൽ ആരെ ശരണം പ്രാപിക്കും?

Call now, if there be any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt thou turn?

2 ൨ നീരസം ഭോഷനെ കൊല്ലുന്നു; അസൂയ മൂഢനെ കൊല്ലുന്നു.

For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.

3 ൩ മൂഢൻ വേരുപിടിക്കുന്നത് ഞാൻ കണ്ടു ക്ഷണത്തിൽ അവന്റെ പാർപ്പിടത്തെ ഞാൻ ശപിച്ചു.

I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation.

4 ൪ അവന്റെ മക്കൾ രക്ഷയോട് അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ രക്ഷകനില്ലാതെ വാതില്‍ക്കൽവച്ച് തകർന്നുപോകുന്നു.

His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither [is there] any to deliver [them].

5 ൫ അവന്റെ വിളവ് വിശപ്പുള്ളവൻ തിന്നുകളയും; മുള്ളുകളിൽനിന്നും അതിനെ പറിച്ചെടുക്കും; അവരുടെ സമ്പത്ത് ദാഹമുള്ളവർ വിഴുങ്ങുന്നു.

Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, and the robber swalloweth up their substance.

6 ൬ അനർത്ഥം ഉത്ഭവിക്കുന്നത് പൂഴിയിൽനിന്നല്ല; കഷ്ടത മുളയ്ക്കുന്നത് നിലത്തുനിന്നുമല്ല;

Although affliction cometh not forth of the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;

7 ൭ തീപ്പൊരി ഉയരത്തിൽ പറക്കുന്നതുപോലെ മനുഷ്യൻ കഷ്ടതയ്ക്കായി ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.

8 ൮ ഞാനോ ദൈവത്തിലേക്കു നോക്കുമായിരുന്നു; എന്റെ കാര്യം ദൈവത്തിൽ ഏല്പിക്കുമായിരുന്നു;

I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:

9 ൯ അവിടുന്ന് ആരാഞ്ഞുകൂടാത്ത വൻകാര്യങ്ങളും അസംഖ്യമായ അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number:

10 ൧൦ അവിടുന്ന് ഭൂമിയിൽ മഴപെയ്യിക്കുന്നു; വയലുകളിലേക്കു വെള്ളം ഒഴുക്കുന്നു.

Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields:

11 ൧൧ അവിടുന്ന് താണവരെ ഉയർത്തുന്നു; ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നവരെ രക്ഷയിലേക്കു കയറ്റുന്നു.

To set up on high those that be low; that those which mourn may be exalted to safety.

12 ൧൨ അവിടുന്ന് ഉപായികളുടെ സൂത്രങ്ങളെ അബദ്ധമാക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ കൈകൾ കാര്യം സാധിപ്പിക്കുകയുമില്ല.

He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform [their] enterprise.

13 ൧൩ അവിടുന്ന് ജ്ഞാനികളെ അവരുടെ കൗശലത്തിൽ പിടിക്കുന്നു; വക്രബുദ്ധികളുടെ ആലോചന മറിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നു.

He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.

14 ൧൪ പകൽ സമയത്ത് അവർക്ക് ഇരുൾ അനുഭവപ്പെടുന്നു; ഉച്ചസമയത്ത് അവർ രാത്രിയിലെന്നപോലെ തപ്പിനടക്കുന്നു.

They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope in the noonday as in the night.

15 ൧൫ അവിടുന്ന് ദരിദ്രനെ അവരുടെ വായെന്ന വാളിൽനിന്നും ബലവാന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും രക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.

16 ൧൬ അങ്ങനെ എളിയവന് പ്രത്യാശയുണ്ട്; നീതികെട്ടവനോ വായ് പൊത്തുന്നു.

So the poor hath hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.

17 ൧൭ ദൈവം ശാസിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ; സർവ്വശക്തന്റെ ശിക്ഷ നീ നിരസിക്കരുത്.

Behold, happy [is] the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:

18 ൧൮ അവിടുന്ന് മുറിവേല്പിക്കുകയും മുറിവ് കെട്ടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; അവിടുന്ന് ചതയ്ക്കുകയും തൃക്കൈ സൗഖ്യമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.

19 ൧൯ ആറ് കഷ്ടത്തിൽനിന്ന് അവിടുന്ന് നിന്നെ വിടുവിക്കും; ഏഴാമത്തേതിലും തിന്മ നിന്നെ തൊടുകയില്ല.

He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.

20 ൨൦ ക്ഷാമകാലത്ത് അവിടുന്ന് നിന്നെ മരണത്തിൽനിന്നും യുദ്ധത്തിൽ വാളിന്റെ വെട്ടിൽനിന്നും വിടുവിക്കും.

In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.

21 ൨൧ നാവെന്ന ചമ്മട്ടിക്ക് നീ മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കും; നാശം വരുമ്പോൾ നീ ഭയപ്പെടുകയില്ല.

Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.

22 ൨൨ നാശത്തിലും ക്ഷാമത്തിലും നീ ചിരിക്കും; കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളെ നീ പേടിക്കുകയില്ല.

At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.

23 ൨൩ വയലിലെ കല്ലുകളോട് നിനക്ക് സഖ്യതയുണ്ടാകും; കാട്ടിലെ മൃഗങ്ങൾ നിന്നോട് ഇണങ്ങിയിരിക്കും.

For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.

24 ൨൪ നിന്റെ കൂടാരം സുരക്ഷിതം എന്ന് നീ അറിയും; നിന്റെ ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തെ നീ പരിശോധിക്കും. അവയിൽ ഒന്നും നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടതായി കാണുകയില്ല.

And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle [shall be] in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin.

25 ൨൫ നിന്റെ സന്താനം അസംഖ്യമെന്നും നിന്റെ പ്രജ നിലത്തെ പുല്ലുപോലെയെന്നും നീ അറിയും.

Thou shalt know also that thy seed [shall be] great, and thine offspring as the grass of the earth.

26 ൨൬ തക്കസമയത്ത് കറ്റക്കൂമ്പാരം അടുക്കിവക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നീ പൂർണ്ണവാർദ്ധക്യത്തിൽ കല്ലറയിൽ കടക്കും.

Thou shalt come to [thy] grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season.

27 ൨൭ ഞങ്ങൾ അത് അന്വേഷിച്ചുനോക്കി, അത് അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ ആകുന്നു; നീ അത് കേട്ട് ഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൊള്ളുക.

Lo this, we have searched it, so it [is; ] hear it, and know thou [it] for thy good.
