ഇയ്യോബ് 4

1 ൧ അതിന് തേമാന്യനായ എലീഫസ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞത്:

Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered,

2 ൨ “നിന്നോട് സംസാരിക്കുവാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചാൽ നീ മുഷിയുമോ? എന്നാലും പറയാതിരിക്കുവാൻ ആർക്ക് കഴിയും?

“If someone ventures to talk with you, will you be grieved? But who can withhold himself from speaking?

3 ൩ നീ പലരെയും ഉപദേശിച്ച് തളർന്ന കൈകളെ ശക്തീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Behold, you have instructed many, you have strengthened the weak hands.

4 ൪ വീഴുന്നവർക്ക് നിന്റെ വാക്ക് താങ്ങായി കുഴയുന്ന മുഴങ്കാലുള്ളവരെ നീ ഉറപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Your words have supported him who was falling, you have made the feeble knees firm.

5 ൫ എന്നാൽ ഇപ്പോൾ നിനക്കത് സംഭവിക്കുമ്പോൾ നീ വിഷാദിക്കുന്നു; നിന്നെ അത് അലട്ടുന്നു; നീ ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകുന്നു.

But now it has come to you, and you faint. It touches you, and you are troubled.

6 ൬ നിന്റെ ഭക്തി നിന്റെ ആശ്രയമല്ലയോ? നിന്റെ നടപ്പിന്റെ നിർമ്മലത നിന്റെ പ്രത്യാശയല്ലയോ?

Is not your piety your confidence? Is not the integrity of your ways your hope?

7 ൭ ഓർത്തു നോക്കുക: നിർദ്ദോഷിയായി നശിച്ചവൻ ആര്? നേരുള്ളവർ എവിടെയാണ് നശിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്?

“Remember, now, who ever perished, being innocent? Or where were the upright cut off?

8 ൮ ഞാൻ കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ളത് അന്യായം ഉഴുത് കഷ്ടത വിതയ്ക്കുന്നവർ അതുതന്നെ കൊയ്യുന്നു.

According to what I have seen, those who plow iniquity and sow trouble, reap the same.

9 ൯ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ശ്വാസത്താൽ അവർ നശിക്കുന്നു; അവിടുത്തെ കോപത്താൽ അവർ മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നു.

By the breath of God they perish. By the blast of his anger are they consumed.

10 ൧൦ സിംഹത്തിന്റെ ഗർജ്ജനവും ക്രൂരസിംഹത്തിന്റെ നാദവും ബാലസിംഹങ്ങളുടെ പല്ലുകളും അറ്റുപോയി.

The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, the teeth of the young lions, are broken.

11 ൧൧ സിംഹം ഇര കിട്ടാത്തതിനാൽ നശിക്കുന്നു; സിംഹിയുടെ കുട്ടികൾ ചിതറിപ്പോകുന്നു;

The old lion perishes for lack of prey. The cubs of the lioness are scattered abroad.

12 ൧൨ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഒരു രഹസ്യവചനം എത്തി; അതിന്റെ മന്ദസ്വരം എന്റെ ചെവിയിൽ കടന്നു.

“Now a thing was secretly brought to me. My ear received a whisper of it.

13 ൧൩ മനുഷ്യർക്ക് ഗാഢനിദ്ര പിടിക്കുമ്പോൾ രാത്രിദർശനങ്ങളാലുള്ള മനോഭാവനകളിൽ ഭയവും നടുക്കവും എന്നെ പിടിച്ചു.

In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men,

14 ൧൪ എന്റെ അസ്ഥികൾ കുലുങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

fear came on me, and trembling, which made all my bones shake.

15 ൧൫ ഒരാത്മാവ് എന്റെ മുഖത്തിനെതിരെ കടന്ന് എന്റെ ദേഹത്തിന് രോമഹർഷം ഭവിച്ചു.

Then a spirit passed before my face. The hair of my flesh stood up.

16 ൧൬ ഒരു പ്രതിമ എന്റെ കണ്ണിനെതിരെ നിന്നു; എങ്കിലും അതിന്റെ രൂപം ഞാൻ തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞില്ല; മന്ദമായൊരു സ്വരം ഞാൻ കേട്ടത്:

It stood still, but I could not discern its appearance. A form was before my eyes. Silence, then I heard a voice, saying,

17 ൧൭ മർത്യൻ ദൈവത്തിലും നീതിമാൻ ആകുമോ? നരൻ സ്രഷ്ടാവിലും നിർമ്മലനാകുമോ?

‘Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his Maker?

18 ൧൮ ഇതാ, സ്വദാസന്മാരിലും അവന് വിശ്വാസമില്ല; തന്റെ ദൂതന്മാരിലും അവൻ കുറ്റം ആരോപിക്കുന്നു.

Behold, he puts no trust in his servants. He charges his angels with error.

19 ൧൯ പൊടിയിൽനിന്നുത്ഭവിച്ചു മൺപുരകളിൽ വസിച്ച് പുഴുപോലെ ചതഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നവരിൽ എത്ര അധികം!

How much more those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth!

20 ൨൦ ഉഷസ്സിനും സന്ധ്യക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ അവർ തകർന്നുപോകുന്നു; ആരും ഗണ്യമാക്കാതെ അവർ എന്നേക്കും നശിക്കുന്നു.

Between morning and evening they are destroyed. They perish forever without any regarding it.

21 ൨൧ അവരുടെ കൂടാരത്തിന്റെ കയറ് അറ്റുപോയിട്ട് അവർ ജ്ഞാനഹീനരായി മരിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ.

Is not their tent cord plucked up within them? They die, and that without wisdom.’
