യിരെമ്യാവു 9

1 ൧ അയ്യോ, എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പുത്രിയുടെ ഘാതകന്മാർനിമിത്തം രാവും പകലും കരയേണ്ടതിന് എന്റെ തല വെള്ളവും എന്റെ കണ്ണ് കണ്ണുനീരുറവും ആയിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളാമായിരുന്നു!

Who makes my head waters, And my eye a fountain of tears? And I weep by day and by night, For the wounded of the daughter of my people.

2 ൨ അയ്യോ, എന്റെ ജനത്തെ വിട്ടു പോകേണ്ടതിന് മരുഭൂമിയിൽ വഴിയാത്രക്കാർക്കുള്ള ഒരു സത്രം എനിക്ക് കിട്ടിയെങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളാമായിരുന്നു! അവരെല്ലാവരും വ്യഭിചാരികളും ദ്രോഹികളുടെ കൂട്ടവുമല്ലയോ?

Who gives me in a wilderness A lodging-place for travelers? And I leave my people, and go from them, For all of them [are] adulterers, An assembly of treacherous ones.

3 ൩ “അവർ വ്യാജത്തിനായി നാവ് വില്ലുപോലെ കുലക്കുന്നു; അവർ സത്യത്തിനായിട്ടല്ല ദേശത്ത് വീര്യം കാണിക്കുന്നത്; അവർ ഒരു ദോഷം വിട്ട് മറ്റൊരു ദോഷത്തിന് പുറപ്പെടുന്നു; അവർ എന്നെ അറിയുന്നില്ല” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.

“And they bend their tongue, Their bow [is] a lie, And they have not been mighty for steadfastness in the land, For they have gone forth from evil to evil, And they have not known Me,” A declaration of YHWH!

4 ൪ നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തനും അവനവന്റെ അയല്‍ക്കാരനെ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ളുവിൻ; ഒരു സഹോദരനിലും നിങ്ങൾ ആശ്രയിക്കരുത്; ഓരോ സഹോദരനും ഉപായം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു; ഓരോ കൂട്ടുകാരനും നുണപറഞ്ഞു നടക്കുന്നു.

“You each beware of his friend, And do not trust any brother, For every brother utterly supplants, For every friend slanderously walks,

5 ൫ അവർ ഓരോരുത്തനും അവനവന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനെ ചതിക്കും; സത്യം സംസാരിക്കുകയുമില്ല; വ്യാജം സംസാരിക്കുവാൻ അവർ നാവിനെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീതികേട് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുവാൻ അവർ അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നു.

And they each mock at his friend, And they do not speak truth, They taught their tongue to speak falsehood, They have labored to commit iniquity.

6 ൬ നിന്റെ വാസം വഞ്ചനയുടെ നടുവിൽ ആകുന്നു; വഞ്ചനനിമിത്തം അവർ എന്നെ അറിയുവാൻ വിസമ്മതിക്കുന്നു” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.

Your dwelling [is] in the midst of deceit, Through deceit they refused to know Me,” A declaration of YHWH.

7 ൭ അതുകൊണ്ട് സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഇതാ ഞാൻ അവരെ ഉരുക്കി ശോധനകഴിക്കും; എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പുത്രിക്കു വേണ്ടി എനിക്ക് മറ്റെന്തു ചെയ്യുവാൻ സാധിക്കും?

Therefore, thus said YHWH of Hosts: “Behold, I am refining them, and have tried them, For how do I deal with the daughter of My people?

8 ൮ അവരുടെ നാവ് മരണകരമായ അസ്ത്രമാകുന്നു; അത് വഞ്ചന സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; വായ്കൊണ്ട് ഓരോരുത്തനും അവനവന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനോട് സമാധാനം സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ അവനായി പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

Their tongue [is] a slaughtering arrow, It has spoken deceit in its mouth, It speaks peace with its neighbor, And in its heart it lays its ambush,

9 ൯ ഇവ നിമിത്തം ഞാൻ അവരെ സന്ദർശിക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കുമോ? ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള ജനതയോടു ഞാൻ പകരം ചെയ്യാതെ ഇരിക്കുമോ” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.

Do I not see after them for these things?” A declaration of YHWH, “Does My soul not avenge itself against a nation such as this?”

10 ൧൦ “പർവ്വതങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു ഞാൻ കരച്ചിലും വിലാപവും മരുഭൂമിയിലെ മേച്ചിൽപുറങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു പ്രലാപവും തുടങ്ങും; ആരും വഴിപോകാത്തവണ്ണം അവ വെന്തുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു; കന്നുകാലികളുടെ ശബ്ദം കേൾക്കുന്നില്ല; ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികളും മൃഗങ്ങളും എല്ലാം അവിടം വിട്ടു പോയിരിക്കുന്നു.

I lift up weeping and wailing for the mountains, And a lamentation for the habitations of the wilderness, For they have been burned up without any passing over, Nor have they heard the voice of livestock, From the bird of the heavens and to the beast—they have fled, They have gone.

11 ൧൧ ഞാൻ യെരൂശലേമിനെ കൽക്കുന്നുകളും കുറുനരികളുടെ പാർപ്പിടവും ആക്കും; ഞാൻ യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളെ നിവാസികൾ ഇല്ലാതെയാകുംവിധം ശൂന്യമാക്കിക്കളയും.

“And I make Jerusalem become heaps, A habitation of dragons, And I make the cities of Judah a desolation, Without inhabitant.”

12 ൧൨ ഇതു ഗ്രഹിക്കുവാൻ തക്ക ജ്ഞാനമുള്ളവൻ ആര്? അത് പ്രസ്താവിക്കുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം യഹോവയുടെ വായ് ആരോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു? ആരും വഴിപോകാത്തവിധം ദേശം നശിച്ച് മരുഭൂമിപോലെ വെന്തുപോകുവാൻ സംഗതി എന്ത്?”

Who [is] the wise man? And he understands this, And he to whom the mouth of YHWH spoke? And he declares it, For why has the land perished? It has been burned up as a wilderness, Without any passing through.

13 ൧൩ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നത്: “ഞാൻ അവരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ വച്ച ന്യായപ്രമാണം അവർ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കുകയോ അത് അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യാതെ

And YHWH says: “Because of their forsaking My law that I set before them, And they have not listened to My voice nor walked in it,

14 ൧൪ അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ ശാഠ്യത്തെയും അവരുടെ പൂര്‍വ്വ പിതാക്കന്മാർ അവരെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിച്ച ബാല്‍ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും അനുസരിച്ചുനടന്നു;” അതുകൊണ്ട്

And they walk after the stubbornness of their heart, And after the Ba‘alim, That their fathers taught them,”

15 ൧൫ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഞാൻ ഈ ജനത്തെ കാഞ്ഞിരംകൊണ്ട് പോഷിപ്പിച്ച് നഞ്ചുവെള്ളം കുടിപ്പിക്കും.

Therefore, thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: “Behold, I am causing them—this people—to eat wormwood, And I have caused them to drink water of gall,

16 ൧൬ അവരും അവരുടെ പൂര്‍വ്വ പിതാക്കന്മാരും അറിയാത്ത ജനതകളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഞാൻ അവരെ ചിതറിച്ച്, അവരെ മുടിക്കുവോളം അവരുടെ പിന്നാലെ വാൾ അയയ്ക്കും”.

And I have scattered them among nations Which they did not know, they and their fathers, And have sent the sword after them, Until I have consumed them.”

17 ൧൭ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “നിങ്ങൾ ചിന്തിച്ചു വിലപിക്കുന്ന സ്ത്രീകളെ വിളിച്ചു വരുത്തുവിൻ; സാമർത്ഥ്യമുള്ള സ്ത്രീകളെ ആളയച്ച് വരുത്തുവിൻ.

Thus said YHWH of Hosts: “Consider, and call for mourning women, And they come, And send to the wise women, And they come,

18 ൧൮ നമ്മുടെ കണ്ണിൽ നിന്ന് കണ്ണുനീർ ഒഴുകത്തക്കവിധവും നമ്മുടെ കൺപോളയിൽനിന്നു വെള്ളം കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകത്തക്കവിധവും അവർ ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു വിലാപം കഴിക്കട്ടെ.

And they hurry, and lift up a wailing for us. And tears run down our eyes, And waters flow from our eyelids.

19 ൧൯ സീയോനിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു വിലാപം കേൾക്കുന്നു; “നാം എത്ര ശൂന്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു; നാം അത്യന്തം നാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നാം ദേശം വിട്ടുപോയല്ലോ; നമ്മുടെ നിവാസങ്ങൾ അവർ തള്ളിയിട്ടുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

For a voice of wailing is heard from Zion: How we have been spoiled! We have been greatly ashamed, Because we have forsaken the land, Because they have cast down our dwelling places.”

20 ൨൦ എന്നാൽ സ്ത്രീകളേ, യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേൾക്കുവിൻ; നിങ്ങളുടെ ചെവി അവിടുത്തെ വായിലെ വചനം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കട്ടെ; നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രിമാരെ വിലാപവും ഓരോ സ്ത്രീയും അവളുടെ കൂട്ടുകാരിയെ പ്രലാപവും അഭ്യസിപ്പിക്കുവിൻ.

But hear, you women, a word of YHWH, And your ear receives a word of His mouth, And teach your daughters wailing, And each her neighbor lamentation.

21 ൨൧ വിശാലസ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെയും വീഥികളിൽനിന്നു യുവാക്കളെയും ഛേദിച്ചുകളയേണ്ടതിന് മരണം നമ്മുടെ കിളിവാതിലുകളിൽകൂടി കയറി നമ്മുടെ അരമനകളിലേക്കു പ്രവേശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

For death has come up into our windows, It has come into our palaces, To cut off the suckling from outside, Young men from the broad places.

22 ൨൨ മനുഷ്യരുടെ ശവങ്ങൾ വയലിലെ ചാണകംപോലെയും, കൊയ്ത്തുകാരന്റെ പിന്നിലെ കതിർമണിപോലെയും വീഴും; ആരും അവയെ കൂട്ടിച്ചേർക്കുകയില്ല എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്” എന്നു പറയുക.

Speak thus, “A declaration of YHWH, And the carcass of man has fallen, As dung on the face of the field, And as a handful after the reaper, And there is none gathering.”

23 ൨൩ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ജ്ഞാനി തന്റെ ജ്ഞാനത്തിൽ പ്രശംസിക്കരുത്; ബലവാൻ തന്റെ ബലത്തിൽ പ്രശംസിക്കരുത്; ധനവാൻ തന്റെ ധനത്തിലും പ്രശംസിക്കരുത്.

Thus said YHWH: “Do not let the wise boast himself in his wisdom, Nor let the mighty boast himself in his might, Do not let the rich boast himself in his riches,

24 ൨൪ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നവനോ: യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ ഭൂമിയിൽ ദയയും ന്യായവും നീതിയും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു എന്നിങ്ങനെ എന്നെ ഗ്രഹിച്ചറിയുന്നതിൽ തന്നെ പ്രശംസിക്കട്ടെ; ഇതിൽ അല്ലയോ എനിക്ക് പ്രസാദമുള്ളത്” എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.

But let the boaster boast himself in this, In understanding and knowing Me, For I [am] YHWH, doing kindness, Judgment, and righteousness, in the earth, For I have delighted in these,” A declaration of YHWH.

25 ൨൫ ഇതാ ഈജിപ്റ്റ്, യെഹൂദാ, ഏദോം, അമ്മോന്യർ, മോവാബ്, തലയുടെ അരികു വടിക്കുന്ന മരുഭൂനിവാസികൾ എന്നിങ്ങനെ അഗ്രചർമ്മത്തോടുകൂടിയ സകല പരിച്ഛേദനക്കാരെയും ഞാൻ ശിക്ഷിക്കുവാനുള്ള കാലം വരുന്നു.

“Behold, days are coming,” A declaration of YHWH, “And I have laid a charge on all circumcised in the foreskin,

26 ൨൬ സകലജനതകളും അഗ്രചർമ്മികളല്ലയോ?; എന്നാൽ യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹം മുഴുവനും ഹൃദയകാഠിന്യമുള്ളവരാകുന്നു” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.

On Egypt, and on Judah, and on Edom, And on the sons of Ammon, and on Moab, And on all cutting the corner [of the beard], Who are dwelling in the wilderness, For all the nations [are] uncircumcised, And all the house of Israel [are] uncircumcised in heart!”
