യിരെമ്യാവു 8
1 ൧ “ആ കാലത്ത് അവർ യെഹൂദാ രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ അസ്ഥികളും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ അസ്ഥികളും പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ അസ്ഥികളും പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ അസ്ഥികളും യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളുടെ അസ്ഥികളും ശവക്കുഴികളിൽനിന്നെടുത്ത്,
At that time, saith the Lord, they shall cast out the bones of the kings of Juda, and the bones of the princes thereof, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves.
2 ൨ അവർ സ്നേഹിച്ചതും സേവിച്ചതും പിന്തുടർന്ന് അന്വേഷിച്ചതും നമസ്കരിച്ചതുമായ സൂര്യനും ചന്ദ്രനും ആകാശത്തിലെ സർവ്വസൈന്യത്തിനും മുമ്പിൽ അവ നിരത്തിവക്കും; ആരും അവയെ പെറുക്കിക്കൂട്ടുകയോ കുഴിച്ചിടുകയോ ചെയ്യുകയില്ല; അവ നിലത്തിനു വളമായിത്തീരും” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
And they shall spread them abroad to the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and adored: they shall not be gathered, and they shall not be buried: they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth.
3 ൩ “ഈ ദുഷ്ടവംശങ്ങളിൽ ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവർ എല്ലാവരും, ഞാൻ അവരെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന സകലസ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവർ തന്നെ, ജീവനല്ല മരണം തന്നെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കും” എന്ന് സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
And death shall be chosen rather than life by all that shall remain of this wicked kindred in all places, which are left, to which I have cast them out, saith the Lord of hosts.
4 ൪ “നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടത്: ‘യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഒരുത്തൻ വീണാൽ എഴുന്നേല്ക്കുകയില്ലയോ? ഒരുത്തൻ വഴി തെറ്റിപ്പോയാൽ മടങ്ങിവരുകയില്ലയോ?
And thou shalt say to them: Thus saith the Lord: Shall not he that falleth, rise again? and he that is turned away, shall he not turn again?
5 ൫ യെരൂശലേമിലെ ഈ ജനം നിരന്തരമായി പിന്മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നതും വഞ്ചന മുറുകെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് മടങ്ങിവരുവാൻ മനസ്സില്ലാതിരിക്കുന്നതും എന്ത്?
Why then is this people in Jerusalem turned away with a stubborn revolting? they have laid hold on lying, and have refused to return.
6 ൬ ഞാൻ ശ്രദ്ധവച്ചു കേട്ടു; അവർ നേര് സംസാരിച്ചില്ല; “അയ്യോ ഞാൻ എന്താണ് ചെയ്തത്?” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് ആരും തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടതയെക്കുറിച്ച് അനുതപിച്ചില്ല; കുതിര യുദ്ധത്തിനായി പായുന്നതുപോലെ ഓരോരുത്തൻ അവനവന്റെ വഴിക്കു തിരിയുന്നു.
I attended, and hearkened; no man speaketh what is good, there is none that doth penance for his sin, saying: What have I done? They are all turned to their own course, as a horse rushing to the battle.
7 ൭ ആകാശത്തിലെ പെരുഞാറ തന്റെ കാലം അറിയുന്നു; കുറുപ്രാവും മീവൽപക്ഷിയും കൊക്കും മടങ്ങിവരവിനുള്ള സമയം അനുസരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ജനമോ യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായം അറിയുന്നില്ല”.
The kite in the air hath known her time: the turtle, and the swallow, and the stork have observed the time of their coming: but my people have not known the judgment of the Lord.
8 ൮ “ഞങ്ങൾ ജ്ഞാനികൾ; യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം ഞങ്ങളുടെ പക്കൽ ഉണ്ട്” എന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നത് എങ്ങനെ? ശാസ്ത്രിമാരുടെ വ്യാജമുള്ള എഴുത്തുകോൽ അതിനെ വ്യാജമാക്കിത്തീർത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
How do you say: We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us? Indeed the lying pen of the scribes hath wrought falsehood.
9 ൯ ജ്ഞാനികൾ ലജ്ജിച്ചു ഭ്രമിച്ചു പിടിക്കപ്പെടും; അവർ യഹോവയുടെ വചനം ധിക്കരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ; അവരിൽ എന്ത് ജ്ഞാനമാണുള്ളത്?
The wise men are confounded, they are dismayed, and taken: for they have cast away the word of the Lord, and there is no wisdom in them.
10 ൧൦ അതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ അവരുടെ ഭാര്യമാരെ അന്യന്മാർക്കും അവരുടെ നിലങ്ങൾ അവയെ കൈവശമാക്കുന്നവർക്കും കൊടുക്കും; അവർ ആബാലവൃദ്ധം ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹികൾ ആകുന്നു; പ്രവാചകന്മാരും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ഒരുപോലെ വ്യാജം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു.
Therefore I will give their women to strangers, their fields to others for an inheritance: because from the least even to the greatest all follow covetousness: from the prophet even to the priest, all deal deceitfully.
11 ൧൧ സമാധാനം ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കെ ‘സമാധാനം സമാധാനം’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് അവർ എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പുത്രിയുടെ മുറിവിനു ലഘുവായി ചികിത്സിക്കുന്നു.
And they healed the breach of the daughter of my people disgracefully, saying Peace, peace: when there was no peace.
12 ൧൨ മ്ലേച്ഛത പ്രവർത്തിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട് അവർ ലജ്ജിക്കേണ്ടിവരും; അവർ ഒരിക്കലും ലജ്ജിച്ചിട്ടില്ല നാണം അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടുമില്ല; അതുകൊണ്ട് വീഴുന്നവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ അവർ വീണുപോകും; അവരുടെ സന്ദർശനകാലത്ത് അവർ ഇടറിവീഴും” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
They are confounded, because they have committed abomination: yea rather they are not confounded with confusion, and they have not know how to blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall; in the time of their visitation they shall fall, saith the Lord.
13 ൧൩ “ഞാൻ അവരെ കൂട്ടിവരുത്തും” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്; മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയിൽ മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം ഉണ്ടാവുകയില്ല; അത്തിവൃക്ഷത്തിൽ അത്തിപ്പഴം ഉണ്ടാവുകയില്ല; ഇലയും വാടിപ്പോകും; അവരെ ആക്രമിക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാൻ നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു”.
Gathering I will gather them together, saith the Lord, there is no grape on the vines, and there are no figs on the fig tree, the leaf is fallen: and I have given them the things that are passed away.
14 ൧൪ “നാം അനങ്ങാതിരിക്കുന്നതെന്ത്? കൂടിവരുവിൻ; നാം ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ചെന്ന് അവിടെ നശിച്ചുപോകുക; നാം യഹോവയോടു പാപം ചെയ്യുകകൊണ്ട് നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമ്മെ നഞ്ചുവെള്ളം കുടിപ്പിച്ച് നശിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the fenced city, and let us be silent there: for the Lord our God hath put us to silence, and hath given us water of gall to drink: for we have sinned against the Lord.
15 ൧൫ നാം സമാധാനത്തിനായി കാത്തിരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ഒരു നന്മയും വന്നില്ല; രോഗശമനത്തിനായി കാത്തിരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ഇതാ, ഭീതി!”
We looked for peace and no good came: for a time of healing, and behold fear.
16 ൧൬ അവന്റെ കുതിരകളുടെ മുക്കുറ ശബ്ദം ദാനിൽനിന്നു കേൾക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ ആൺകുതിരകളുടെ മദഗർജ്ജനംകൊണ്ടു ദേശമെല്ലാം വിറയ്ക്കുന്നു; അവ വന്ന് ദേശത്തെയും അതിലുള്ള സകലത്തെയും നഗരത്തെയും അതിൽ വസിക്കുന്നവരെയും വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളയും.
The snorting of his horse was heard from Dan, all the land was moved at the sound of the neighing of his warriors: and they came and devoured the land, and all that was in it: the city and its inhabitants.
17 ൧൭ “ഞാൻ സർപ്പങ്ങളെയും മന്ത്രം ഫലിക്കാത്ത അണലികളെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ അയയ്ക്കും; അവ നിങ്ങളെ കടിക്കും” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
For behold I will send among you serpents, basilisks, against which there is no charm: and they shall bite you, saith the Lord.
18 ൧൮ “അയ്യോ, എന്റെ സങ്കടത്തിൽ എനിക്ക് ആശ്വാസം വന്നെങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളാമായിരുന്നു; എന്റെ മനസ്സു വല്ലാതെ ഉള്ളിൽ ക്ഷീണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
My sorrow is above sorrow, my heart mourneth within me.
19 ൧൯ കേട്ടോ, ദൂരദേശത്തുനിന്ന് എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പുത്രി: “സീയോനിൽ യഹോവ വസിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? അവളുടെ രാജാവ് അവിടെ ഇല്ലയോ” എന്ന് നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു. അവർ അവരുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടും അന്യദേശങ്ങളിലെ മിഥ്യാമൂർത്തികളെക്കൊണ്ടും എന്നെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചതെന്തിന്”?
Behold the voice of the daughter my people from a far country: Is not the Lord in Sion, or is not her king in her? why then have they provoked me to wrath with their idols, and strange vanities?
The harvest is passed, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.
21 ൨൧ എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പുത്രിയുടെ മുറിവ് നിമിത്തം ഞാനും മുറിവേറ്റ് ദുഃഖിച്ചുനടക്കുന്നു; സ്തംഭനം എന്നെ പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
For the affliction of the daughter of my people I am afflicted, and made sorrowful, astonishment hath taken hold on me.
22 ൨൨ ഗിലെയാദിൽ ഔഷധം ഇല്ലയോ? അവിടെ വൈദ്യൻ ഇല്ലയോ? എന്റെ ജനത്തിൻ പുത്രിക്ക് രോഗശമനം വരാതെ ഇരിക്കുന്നതെന്ത്”?
Is there no balm in Galaad? or is no physician there? Why then is not the wound of the daughter of my people closed?
