യിരെമ്യാവു 23
1 ൧ “എന്റെ മേച്ചിൽപ്പുറത്തെ ആടുകളെ നശിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചിതറിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ഇടയന്മാർക്ക് അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
Woe unto the shepherds that destroy and scatter the flocks of my pasture! saith the Lord.
2 ൨ അതുകൊണ്ട്, തന്റെ ജനത്തെ മേയിക്കുന്ന ഇടയന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ച് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ ആട്ടിൻകൂട്ടത്തെ സൂക്ഷിക്കാതെ അവയെ ചിതറിക്കുകയും ഓടിച്ചുകളയുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇതാ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ദോഷത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് നിങ്ങളോടു ചോദിക്കും” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
Therefore thus hath said the Lord the God of Israel concerning the shepherds that feed my people, Ye have scattered my flocks, and driven them away, and have not taken care of them: now, behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the Lord.
3 ൩ എന്റെ ആട്ടിൻകൂട്ടത്തിൽ ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവയെ, ഞാൻ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാ ദേശങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും ശേഖരിച്ച്, അവയുടെ പുല്പുറങ്ങളിലേക്ക് വീണ്ടും കൊണ്ടുവരും; അവ വർദ്ധിച്ചു പെരുകും.
And I will indeed gather the remnant of my flock together out of all the countries whither I have driven them; and I will bring them back again to their folds: and they shall be fruitful and multiply.
4 ൪ അവയെ മേയിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഞാൻ ഇടയന്മാരെ നിയമിക്കും; അവ ഇനി പേടിക്കുകയില്ല, ഭ്രമിക്കുകയില്ല, നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടുപോകുകയുമില്ല” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
And I will raise up over them shepherds who shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, and none of them shall be missing, saith the Lord.
5 ൫ “ഇതാ, ഞാൻ ദാവീദിന് നീതിയുള്ള ഒരു മുളയെ ഉത്ഭവിപ്പിക്കുന്ന കാലം വരും; അവൻ രാജാവായി വാണ് ബുദ്ധിയോടെ പ്രവർത്തിച്ച് ദേശത്തു നീതിയും ന്യായവും നടത്തും.
Behold, days are coming, saith the Lord, when I will raise up unto David a righteous sprout, and he shall reign as king, and prosper, and he shall execute justice and righteousness on the earth.
6 ൬ അവന്റെ കാലത്ത് യെഹൂദാ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും; യിസ്രായേൽ സുരക്ഷിതരായി വസിക്കും; അവന് ‘യഹോവ നമ്മുടെ നീതി’ എന്നു പേര് പറയും” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
In his days shall Judah be helped, and Israel shall dwell in safety: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, The Lord is our righteousness.
Therefore, behold, days are coming, saith the Lord, when they shall no more say, As the Lord liveth, who hath brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
8 ൮ ‘യിസ്രായേൽ ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ സന്തതിയെ വടക്കുദേശത്തുനിന്നും ഞാൻ അവരെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരുന്ന സകലദേശങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയാണ’ എന്നു പറയുന്ന കാലം വരും; അവർ അവരുടെ സ്വന്തദേശത്തു വസിക്കും” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
But, As the Lord liveth, who hath brought up and who hath led forth the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and out of all countries whither I had driven them: and they shall dwell in their own land.
9 ൯ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അരുളപ്പാട്: “എന്റെ ഹൃദയം എന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ നുറുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ അസ്ഥികൾ എല്ലാം ഇളകുന്നു; യഹോവ നിമിത്തവും അവിടുത്തെ വിശുദ്ധവചനങ്ങൾ നിമിത്തവും ഞാൻ, മത്തനെപ്പോലെയും, വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ച് ലഹരിപിടിച്ചവനെപ്പോലെയും ആയിരിക്കുന്നു.
To the prophets—Broken is my heart within me; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a person whom wine hath overcome, because of the Lord, and because of his holy words.
10 ൧൦ ദേശം വ്യഭിചാരികളെക്കൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ശാപംനിമിത്തം ദേശം ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നു; മരുഭൂമിയിലെ മേച്ചില്പുറങ്ങൾ ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ മാർഗ്ഗം ദോഷമുള്ളതും അവരുടെ ശക്തി ന്യായരഹിതവും ആകുന്നു.
For of adulterers is the land full; for because of false swearing mourneth the land, dried up are the pastures in the wilderness; because their course was for evil, and their strength was for injustice.
11 ൧൧ പ്രവാചകനും പുരോഹിതനും ഒരുപോലെ മലിനരായിത്തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ആലയത്തിലും ഞാൻ അവരുടെ ദുഷ്ടത കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
For both prophet and priest are hypocrites: yea, in my own house have I found their wickedness, saith the Lord.
12 ൧൨ “അതുകൊണ്ട് അവരുടെ വഴി അവർക്ക് വഴുവഴുപ്പുള്ളതായിരിക്കും; അവർ ഇരുട്ടിലേക്ക് തള്ളപ്പെടുകയും അവിടെ കാൽ തെറ്റി വീഴുകയും ചെയ്യും; ഞാൻ അവർക്ക് അനർത്ഥം, അവരുടെ സന്ദർശനകാലത്ത് തന്നെ, വരുത്തും” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
Therefore shall their way be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness; they shall be pushed forward, and fall thereon; for I will bring upon them evil, the year of their punishment, saith the Lord.
13 ൧൩ “ശമര്യയിലെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരിൽ ഞാൻ ഭോഷത്തം കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ ബാലിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ പ്രവചിച്ച്, എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിനെ തെറ്റിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
And on the prophets of Samaria have I seen absurdity: they prophesied by Ba'al, and misled my people Israel.
14 ൧൪ യെരൂശലേമിലെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരിൽ ഞാൻ ഭയാനകമായ കാര്യം കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്ത് വ്യാജത്തിൽ നടക്കുന്നു; ആരും തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത വിട്ടുതിരിയാത്ത വിധം അവർ ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരെ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു; അവരെല്ലാവരും എനിക്ക് സൊദോംപോലെയും, അതിലെ നിവാസികൾ ഗൊമോറപോലെയും ആയിരിക്കുന്നു”.
But on the prophets of Jerusalem have I seen a horrible thing; they commit adultery, and walk in falsehood; and they strengthen the hands of evil-doers, so that not one of these doth return from his wickedness: they are become unto me all of them as Sodom, and its inhabitants as Gomorrah.
15 ൧൫ “അതുകൊണ്ട് സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ച് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഞാൻ അവരെ കാഞ്ഞിരം തീറ്റിക്കുകയും നഞ്ചുവെള്ളം കുടിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും; യെരൂശലേമിലെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരിൽനിന്നല്ലയോ വഷളത്തം ദേശത്തെല്ലായിടവും വ്യാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്”.
Therefore thus hath said the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets, Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink poison-water; for from the prophets of Jerusalem is hypocrisy gone forth over all the land.
16 ൧൬ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “നിങ്ങളോടു പ്രവചിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കരുത്; അവർ നിങ്ങളെ വ്യാജം ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയുടെ അധരത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ളതല്ല, സ്വന്തഹൃദയത്തിലെ ദർശനമത്രേ അവർ പ്രവചിക്കുന്നത്.
Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you, they bring you unto vanity: a vision of their own heart do they ever speak, not out of the mouth of the Lord.
17 ൧൭ എന്നെ നിരസിക്കുന്നവരോട് അവർ: “നിങ്ങൾക്ക് സമാധാനം ഉണ്ടാകും എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറയുന്നു; സ്വന്തം ഹൃദയത്തിലെ ശാഠ്യപ്രകാരം നടക്കുന്നവരോടെല്ലാം: “നിങ്ങൾക്കൊരു ദോഷവും വരുകയില്ല” എന്നും പറയുന്നു.
They say indeed unto those that incense me, The Lord hath spoken, Peace shall ye have; and unto every one that walketh in the stubbornness of his own heart, they said, There shall come no evil upon you.
18 ൧൮ യഹോവയുടെ വചനം ദർശിച്ചുകേൾക്കുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം അവന്റെ ആലോചനസഭയിൽ നിന്നവനാര്? അവിടുത്തെ വചനം ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നവനാര്?
For who hath stood in the secret counsel of the Lord, that he could perceive and hear his word? who hath listened to his word and heard it?
19 ൧൯ യഹോവയുടെ ക്രോധം എന്ന കൊടുങ്കാറ്റ്, വലിയ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റ് തന്നെ, പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അത് ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ തലമേൽ ചുറ്റിയടിക്കും.
Behold, the storm-wind of the Lord is gone forth in fury, yea, a whirling storm: upon the head of the wicked shall it fall grievously.
20 ൨൦ തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ വിചാരങ്ങൾ നിറവേറ്റുവോളം യഹോവയുടെ കോപം മാറുകയില്ല; ഭാവികാലത്തു നിങ്ങൾ അത് പൂർണ്ണമായി ഗ്രഹിക്കും.
The anger of the Lord will not return, until he have executed, and until he have fulfilled the purposes of his heart: in the end of days shall ye understand this fully.
21 ൨൧ ഞാൻ ഈ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ അയയ്ക്കാതിരുന്നിട്ടും അവർ ഓടി; ഞാൻ അവരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യാതിരുന്നിട്ടും അവർ പ്രവചിച്ചു.
I had not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I had not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
22 ൨൨ അവർ എന്റെ ആലോചനസഭയിൽ നിന്നിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ, എന്റെ ജനത്തെ എന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ അറിയിച്ച്, അവരെ അവരുടെ ദുഷ്ടവഴിയിൽനിന്നും, അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ദോഷത്തിൽനിന്നും പിൻതിരിപ്പിക്കുമായിരുന്നു.
But if they had stood in my secret counsel, they should have announced my words to my people, and have caused them to turn back from their evil way, and from the wrongfulness of their doings.
Am I a God for those near at hand, saith the Lord, and not a God for those who are afar off?
24 ൨൪ “ഞാൻ കാണാത്തവിധം ആർക്കെങ്കിലും രഹസ്യമായി ഒളിക്കുവാൻ കഴിയുമോ?” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്; “ഞാൻ ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നവനല്ലയോ” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
If a man should hide himself in secret places should I not then see him? saith the Lord. Do I not fill the heavens and the earth? saith the Lord.
25 ൨൫ “‘ഞാൻ സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു, സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വ്യാജം പ്രവചിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ വാക്ക് ഞാൻ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
I have heard what the prophets have said, that prophesy falsely in my name, saying, I have dreamt, I have dreamt.
26 ൨൬ സ്വന്തഹൃദയത്തിലെ വഞ്ചനയുടെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരായി, വ്യാജം പ്രവചിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാർക്ക് ഈ താത്പര്യം എത്രകാലം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും?
How long shall it be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy falsehood? yea, the prophets of the deceit of their own heart, —
27 ൨൭ ബാല്‍ നിമിത്തം അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ എന്റെ നാമം മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞതുപോലെ, ഇവർ അന്യോന്യം വിവരിച്ചു പറയുന്ന സ്വപ്നങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം എന്റെ ജനം എന്റെ നാമം മറന്നുകളയുവാൻ ഇടയാകണമെന്ന് അവർ വിചാരിക്കുന്നു.
[How long] do they think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they relate every man to his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name for the sake of Ba'al?
28 ൨൮ “സ്വപ്നംകണ്ട പ്രവാചകൻ സ്വപ്നം വിവരിക്കട്ടെ; എന്റെ വചനം ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവൻ എന്റെ വചനം വിശ്വസ്തതയോടെ പ്രസ്താവിക്കട്ടെ; വൈക്കോലും ഗോതമ്പും തമ്മിൽ എന്ത് പൊരുത്തം?” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
The prophet that hath had a dream, let him relate his dream; and he that hath received my word, let him speak my word of truth. What hath the straw to do with the corn? saith the Lord.
Is not thus my word, like the fire? saith the Lord, and like a hammer that shivereth the rock?
30 ൩൦ “അതുകൊണ്ട് എന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ അന്യോന്യം മോഷ്ടിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാർക്ക് ഞാൻ വിരോധമാകുന്നു” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that steal my words every one from his neighbor.
31 ൩൧ “തങ്ങളുടെ നാവുകൊണ്ട് ‘യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്’ എന്നു പറയുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാർക്ക് ഞാൻ വിരോധമാകുന്നു” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that use their own word, and say, [The Lord] saith.
32 ൩൨ “വ്യാജസ്വപ്നങ്ങൾ പ്രവചിക്കുകയും അവയെ വിവരിച്ച് അവരുടെ വ്യാജവും ആത്മപ്രശംസയും കൊണ്ട് എന്റെ ജനത്തെ തെറ്റിച്ചുകളയുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവർക്ക് ഞാൻ വിരോധമാകുന്നു” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്; ഞാൻ അവരെ അയച്ചിട്ടില്ല, അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചിട്ടില്ല, അവർ ഈ ജനത്തിന് ഒട്ടും പ്രയോജനമായിരിക്കുകയുമില്ല” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
Behold, I am against those that prophesy with false dreams, saith the Lord, and do relate them, and mislead my people by their falsehoods, and by their vain boasting: while I have not sent them, nor commanded them; and they cannot bring the least profit to this people, saith the Lord.
33 ൩൩ “ഈ ജനം ഒരു പ്രവാചകനോ പുരോഹിതനോ യഹോവയുടെ ഭാരം (അരുളപ്പാട്) എന്ത് എന്നു നിന്നോട് ചോദിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ, നീ അവരോട്: ‘നിങ്ങൾ ആകുന്നു ഭാരം; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ എറിഞ്ഞുകളയും എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്’ എന്നു പറയുക”.
And if this people, or the prophet, or a priest, should ask thee, saying, What is the message of the Lord? then shalt thou say unto them, Because of this “What is the message?” will I even cast you off, saith the Lord.
34 ൩൪ “പ്രവാചകനോ പുരോഹിതനോ ജനമോ: ‘യഹോവയുടെ ഭാരം’ എന്നു പറയുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ ആ മനുഷ്യനെയും അവന്റെ ഭവനത്തെയും സന്ദർശിക്കും.
And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that will say, “A message of the Lord,” I will even inflict punishment on that man and on his house.
35 ൩൫ ‘യഹോവ എന്ത് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു? യഹോവ എന്ത് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു’ എന്നിങ്ങനെയാകുന്നു ഒരോരുത്തൻ അവനവന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനോടും അവനവന്റെ സഹോദരനോടും ചോദിക്കേണ്ടത്.
Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbor, and every one to his brother, What hath the Lord answered? and, What hath the Lord spoken?
36 ൩൬ ‘യഹോവയുടെ ഭാരം’ എന്ന് ഇനി പറയരുത്; അല്ലെങ്കിൽ അവനവന്റെ വാക്ക് അവനവന് ഭാരമായിത്തീരും; നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ എന്ന ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങൾ മറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.
But “A message of the Lord” shall ye not mention any more; for the message cometh indeed to the man of his [prophetic] word; but ye pervert the words of the living God, of the Lord of hosts our God.
37 ൩൭ ‘യഹോവ നിന്നോട് എന്ത് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു? യഹോവ എന്ത് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു?’ എന്നിങ്ങനെയാകുന്നു പ്രവാചകനോടു ചോദിക്കേണ്ടത്.
Thus shalt thou say to the prophet, What hath the Lord answered thee? and, What hath the Lord spoken?
38 ൩൮ ‘യഹോവയുടെ ഭാരം’ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ, യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ‘യഹോവയുടെ ഭാരം എന്നു പറയരുത്’ എന്ന് ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചിട്ടും നിങ്ങൾ ‘യഹോവയുടെ ഭാരം’ എന്ന വാക്കു പറയുകകൊണ്ട്,
But if ye will say, “A message of the Lord,” then thus saith the Lord, Because ye say this word, “A message of the Lord,” and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, “A message of the Lord:”
39 ൩൯ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ എടുത്ത് നിങ്ങളെയും, നിങ്ങൾക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കും ഞാൻ തന്നിട്ടുള്ള നഗരത്തെയും എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് എറിഞ്ഞുകളയും.
Therefore, behold, I am here, and I will tear you completely away, and I will cast you off, and the city that I have given to you and to your fathers, out of my presence;
And I will lay upon you an everlasting disgrace, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.
